Hello. As you all know by now, unless you were in a cave someplace,
I have become the new owner of the "8-Bit Designs" lines of products
and services.
After some healtfelt "SOUL SEARCHING" I have decided to relinquish the
rights to the "POWER PRO 250" power supplies, and "THE ULTIMATE
GAMEPAD."
I will be taking "OFFERS" from all parties starting today.
These "RIGHTS" come with all diagrams, prototypes, users guides,
instructional cd videos (Power Pro 250), a contract of transfer of
ownership and a NON-COMPETE AGREEMENT, and a few miscellaneous parts
and supplies to help you get started on your way.
ALL OTHER DESIGNS WILL REMAIN IN MY POSSESSION!!!!! So please DON'T
ASK!!!!!
Thanks for supporting 8-Bit Designs and we look forward to working with
you all.

I'm not sure, because I was in a cave these last few months.... but I
think he had a few capital letters and quotation marks left over from
his last production run.
Or, maybe these two items were not the high-volume items that he hoped
they'd be. Or they're too time-consuming to assemble, versus the profit
earned from them.
Personally, I'd like to see the group band together and buy the rights
to all of the 8-Bit line, and then release the designs to the public.
Joe over at Star Commander could contract out production in Hungary or
wherever for a lot less than what it would cost to build them here, and
then we can buy the finished product for what the materials alone cost
here in the States.

Problem #1 with Ultimate GamePad, the specific type of PlayStation
controller with the 8-Directional D-Pad from interact is NO LONGER in
production or hard to find as new pads and would require some more R&D with
another vendor's gamepad with similar specs.
I already had seen and researched this some. Most of the pads have
4-directional D-Pads which kinda messes up part of the new combinations and
limits the function and combination options that one would have hoped for in
the specs.
However, I would personally acquire the Ultimate GamePad i.p. for the right
amount. He should also consider value depreciation of intellectual property
and not demand a huge amount for the i.p. Since it was $4000 for the whole
8-Bit Designs i.p. (I know for a fact. $1000 for the domain).
Since the items have not been produced for a few years, I would suspect the
i.p. to be relatively small and it is only one item not the 'whole
business'.
I would be kind to the C= community regarding the item. Personally, I am not
interested in the Power Supply. However, he should simply release the two
item's specs to public domain or at least the info publically and only
retain the rights and royalty negotiations can be made but should be small.
Why make a business out of those items?
Anyone with a brain would have to redo the R&D on the gamepad to get that
going again.

The thing is, buying the rights to the power pro design is like buying
the rights to a cheese sandwich.
There is no magic, its a ps with a 9v transformer and some wires. My
mom could make one.
he cant sell any because noone is dumb enough to pay $100 for such a
thing. or pay $15 for an extra connector.

Well, HAHAHA, actually it's a tad bit more complicated than just a
transformer, but funny nevertheless...
Anyways, the offer still stands on the table for someone that might
want to spend the time and money manufacturing them.
The "rights" come with a whole barrage of benefits (which I will not
list here at the moment). For a listing of the "benefits" that come
with the rights, please feeel free to email me and I will be more than
happy to oblige.
Thanks to all participants in this discussion! Your input is greatly

Funny thing bout that as well. The Website is actually already
completed in my mind as per the designs. It just needs to be put onto a
disk and uploaded onto the domain name (and this will not happen until
I sell off the rights and products to the Power Pro and the Gamepad and
all transfers are fully completed).
Thanks "clockie!" DOH!

Well, usually it still have to be coded unless you have it already
completed as per the code in your mind. But even then putting that code
on the disk might still raise a couple of technical issues as per our
today's knowledge on the methods of transferring mind patterns from
organic, cellullar media to the magnetic storage. Why not upload it
directly, bypassing the disk storage then? ;-)

Paul Panks should be able to help with getting the mind patterns onto the
floppies.
He's had some practice.

IOW never. Look Charles, you don't have any particular rights to your
products and the "rights" you claim to be selling have no real commercial
value. I could simply buy the gamepad and power supply (or design my own)
and put the designs on my website and there wouldn't be a damn thing you
could do about it.
In fact, if I were you that is exactly what I would be doing anyway, that
is make publically available and give something back to the community for
*free*.
Oh, and your excuses as to why you don't have a website are getting old.
There are simply no reasons why you shouldn't have a web presence of some
sorts in this day and age, none at all.
All the tools and sites to do it are available for free and easy to use and
webspace is free and people have offered to help you and still you are
making excuses.
The only thing you are selling plenty of is bullshit.

Given the level of business-savvyness you display in here I wouldn't be so
sure.

There is no patents on them. No trademarks were filed. Go check it up at
http://www.uspto.gov US Patents and Trademarks Office... They do have an
online database for this shit.
Why you want find it there?
Michael Hunter did not spend the thousands of dollars it would take to
patent his designs and file the trademarks and file the copyrights. The only
thing legit is copyright as it is protected immediately by putting a
copyright notice on a program created and of course published.
A copyright is useless if it has not been published. My works with Retro64
(demo/game dev group) is technically protected and copyrighted (though
released as freeware - you don't pay for it or pay a royalty for production
of it as long as you keep the Retro64 name on it accordingly. We do however
own the rights to the code, gfx, ect. that we coded, pixeled, ect. However
it is free to use, reproduce for personal non-commercial usage and enjoy..
normal crap.
Michael Hunter was the copyright holder of the programs that he created and
thus is now yours IIRC - with probably the exception of the Ultimate Game
Pad software and Programming Guide for it. As that would return back to
Denard.
Since all IP (copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, schematics,
design instructions, and documentations) pertaining to PowerPro250 and
Ultimate GamePad would return to Denard Springle. The stock parts may or may
not return back to him, that depends on your deal.

Dragos you are mistaken, the plans for a cheese sandwich would be more
valuable than the power pro.
