When I was young, I used to publish a newsletter for our stickball
league using a publishing program on the 64 which featured multiple
columns and clip-art. It wasn't Geos based, but was a popular package
at the time. Can someone throw some potential titles out for me?

And wasn't Newsroom published by Springboard?
Another possibility would be Print Shop published by Broderbund.

Are you thinking of Paperclip Publisher? I used that for turning
out our club alternate newsletter, C= Voyages.
