Brossart\u2019s lawyer argued that law enforcement\u2019s \u201cwarrantless use of [an] unmanned military-like surveillance aircraft\u201d and \u201coutrageous governmental conduct\u201d warranted dismissal of the case, according to court documents obtained by U.S. News.<\/p>\n<p>District Judge Joel Medd wrote that \u201cthere was no improper use of an unmanned aerial vehicle\u201d and that the drone \u201cappears to have had no bearing on these charges being contested here,\u201d according to the documents.<\/p>\n<p>Court records state that last June, six cows wandered onto Brossart\u2019s 3,000 acre farm, about 60 miles west of Grand Forks. Brossart allegedly refused to return the cows, which led to a long, armed standoff with the Grand Forks police department.
