There is a virtual broadcast black-out on the candidate.<\/p>\n<p>A startling new <a href=\"http:\/\/newsbusters.org\/blogs\/nb\/rich-noyes\/2016\/09\/06\/mrc-study-challengers-clinton-and-trump-get-just-003-tv-news-airtime\" target=\"_blank\">analysis<\/a> of major network news coverage conducted by the Media Research Center reveals all. <strong>Rich Noyes<\/strong>, research director for the conservative press watchdog, examined 1,713 campaign stories that appeared on ABC, CBS and NBC from Jan. 1 all the way through the end of August. Here\u2019s what Mr. Noyes and his team of researchers found.<\/p>\n<p>GOP nominee <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/donald-trump\/\">Donald Trump<\/a><\/strong> got 1,773 minutes of coverage, Democratic challenger <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/hillary-clinton\/\">Hillary Clinton<\/a><\/strong> got 1,020 minutes. And <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/gary-johnson\/\">Mr. Johnson<\/a>?<\/p>\n<div class=\"read-more-show\">\n<p>\u201cThus far in 2016, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/gary-johnson\/\">Johnson<\/a> has received a mere 11 seconds of evening news coverage \u2014 just a single sentence on the NBC Nightly News as he was formally nominated back in May,\u201d says Mr. Noyes. \u201cThat means <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/hillary-clinton\/\">Clinton<\/a> has received more than 5,000 times more coverage than <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/gary-johnson\/\">Johnson<\/a>, while <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/donald-trump\/\">Donald Trump<\/a> garnered nearly 10,000 times more evening news airtime than his Libertarian challenger.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The broadcast status of other third party hopefuls were also examined by the researchers. They found that conservative independent candidate <strong>Evan McMullin<\/strong> got 33 seconds, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/green-party\/\">Green Party<\/a> nominee <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/jill-stein\/\">Jill Stein<\/a><\/strong> three seconds. Yes, three seconds.
