The Game Player&#8217;s Encyclopedias were large volumes typically dedicated to one system (or at least one company&#8217;s systems) that contained summaries, reviews and strategies of lots of games. The contents wasn&#8217;t necessarily of great quality but it was a great place to look, pre-internet, to see what a lot of games were like in one place.
