Another Monster of the Week episode, this one is perhaps a little creepier than most. A couple learns via ultrasound that the baby they are expecting has a series of bizarre abnormalities. The woman seemingly miscarries but had a dream or vision of a demon ripping the baby from her womb which is what leads the agents to the case. Mulder ultimately theorizes that the husband is a demon who just wants to have a normal baby.
However, in a twist, it turns out that the mother is also a demon but she wants a demon child. The husband has been destroying the abnormal/demon babies while the wife has been destroying the normal ones. Watch it if you want to know how it ends.
This episode feels a little less like an X-Files episode than most but it did have a pretty creepy feel and as a big plus the husband in this episode was played by Bruce Campbell. Given the theme, it probably could and should have been a little bit scarier. I think this might be a case where the lighthearted elements played a little larger role than they should have. Still, it was a good creepy episode overall and Bruce Campbell is probably worth another half star at least.
I would give this one 4/5 stars (maybe 3.5/5 if you are not a Bruce Campbell fan).
