Howdy out there. I don't know what newsgroup this is
appropriate for. Is there a comp.terminal newsgroup that
I don't know about|?

I'm using a wyse85 terminal with a 1200 baud modem
on a Vax 11/780 running 4.3BSD Unix.

I'm having some problems with the termcap entry, I think, and I'm wondering if
anybody out there has a good termcap entry that they would mail me.
Unfortunately, I don't even have a manual for the terminal; I don't know if
a manual would even help.

The problem is that when I am using vi, in the edit mode, if I move
the cursor down or up a line (from, say, halfway across the screen --
actually anywhere except the first column) the rest of the line
in front of the cursor will be erased. The other thing
that might happen is that when I move the cursor up or down, it
will _appear_ to be at the beginning of the line (instead of out where
it should be), but if I redraw the screen it is in the correct
place. Everything works fine if I redraw the screen every
time I move the cursor, but needless to say, that gets frustrating.
Also, if I move over words using "w" uit will tend to erase about half of the
words.

I'm not knowledgeable enough to tweak the termcap entry
I have really well and kjnow what I'm doing, so I would
appreciate *any* help that people can give.

Thanks,

Brett

p.s. Yes, I read the manula entry for termcap :)
