What about the unnecessary semi-colons?  I believe these indicate a basic
lack of understanding of the syntax requirements of the language.

Regarding the indentation conventions and upper/lower case usage, these
are simply style issues.  If the instructor has definite requirements in this
area, the student is required to oblige (the same holds in industry when
certain documentation requirements must be followed).  I personally
see no problem with the style used.  The indentation seems to indicate that
the student understands the semantics of these statements.

The semi-colon issue is another thing indeed!
