I believe that Word creates these files to journal changes made to files (so
you can do things like "Undo Typing").  Also, if you edit a number of files
at once you can get many temp files in there.  There are some PD programs that
will delete them from your System Folder each time you restart your machine, but
no names come immediately to mind.
