Has anyone ever tried to run uucp through modems attached
to a LAT (DECserver 200) box? If so, I'd appreciate hearing
your experience.

We are thinking about trying this arrangement for our
news/uucp machine. If it will work, it would be a relatively
inexpensive way to go. We know we can dedicate LAT ports to
link modems directly to serial ports. This means that uucp
won't have to jump through any extra hoops, but I'm concerned
about reliability and performance compared to direct serial ports.
I'm also aware that a LAT box will be subject to the vagaries
of whatever network it is attached to.

Please email me, as I don't normally read these groups. I'll
post a summary of interesting replies. Thanks in advance!
