On my machine, I can _echo_ some specific string in order to get
the window manager to give some information about the window. The
problem is, the information is a string, which is inserted into
the input stream. In other words, if I _echo_ a string, the screen
returns another string as *input*.

I would like to get hold of that string. How do I do it?
(in csh, if possible)

Thanks,
-- Magnus
