What is the format of the digital input for the NeXT? If that port simply goes to the synchrounous serial input on the 56000, then things are easy if you also have a CD player that utilizes the Sony data separator chip (Sony and Denon players use it, at least). There is an app note from Motorola on how to insert a 56000 into the serial data stream of a Sony CD player. Note that you'll have to open up the CD player and AT LEAST do some tack soldering (one wire). If you use the digital out of the CD player, you'll have to get rid of all of the subcode information that's sent along for the ride. This means you'll have to do some programming for the 56000. However, I'll bet that someone already has an application built for the NeXT machine for just plugging the CD player in. -- Todd Day | todd@ivucsb.sba.ca.us | ivucsb!todd@anise.acc.com "Ya know, some day these scientists are going to invent something that can outsmart a rabbit" -- Bugs Bunny
