This is a fundamental difference in capability between the two printers. The LJII even with 512K is a very usable printer for Desktop publishing . I've seen it used with TeX and Ventura with very good results, using downloadble fonts. If the street price of the LJIIP falls under $1000.OO, I don't see how the DeskJets can compete.
