Subject: GNU C compiler on HP-UX 6.5

I'm trying to get the GNU C compiler (1.34) and g++ compiler (1.33)
to run on HP9000/s300 series running HP-UX 6.5.
The C compiler compiles but generates incorrect assembler code.
The problems are the GNU header in the assembler and problems with
floating point instructions. A simple hack can fix this, but when I use
the optimize flag the compiler loops.
The g++ does not compile at all. Has anyone less tried this before,
with more success? What changes are needed?
Thanks.
