Waser and Flynn are a bit more recent. Be sure to read Gosling's paper "Tricks of the (Floating Point) Trade", in one of the Computer Arithmetic Conferences. Sorry that these references are vague. I am doing a survey of computer arithmetic - I'd post my bibliography, except (silly me) I hand wrote it. As always, I invite correspondence on computer arithmetic topics. (BTW - folks who responded to my last query on Computer Arithmetic - any objections if I post a summary? I'll avoid names and details unless you specifically give permission) -- Andy "Krazy" Glew, Motorola MCD, aglew@urbana.mcd.mot.com 1101 E.
