Lines: 26 We would like to set up an integrated facility for carrying on local structured discussions, using a netnews/notes-like structure, and to read (and write) external netnews via nntp. There are a number of different machines that people use, including suns and sgi's. We would like to have one "master" program/interface to do both, so that the only difference between the external and the local newsgroups is the distribution. We don't control the nntp server, BTW. What is a reasonable way to do this, such that all the local people can read all of the local postings as well as all the external postings. We are currently using a mixture of rrn and gnus for news reading. We are considering notes, some extension of gnus so that it would read a local spool directory if it couldn't find a group via nntp, and any other (more) reasonable alternatives. Any ideas? What do you do? Thanks, -- Jeremy Nussbaum jeremy@jeremy.prime.com, ...!harvard!prmcad!jeremy Prime Computer 2 Crosby Drive MS 16-2 Bedford, Ma. 01730 (617)275-1800 x6745
