A few people will have software which breaks, and not have any reason to upgrade. Others just won't bother. And there will be *plenty* of people who haven't got enough memory out there! I try to code defensively (not assuming the existence of HFS or WNE), and most of my programs work on system 3.2 and up (that's the earliest system I have a copy of except for my original at home).
