I would like to begin a discussion on Comparing Strengths and
Weaknesses of Database Packages on the PC.

I used a set of C functions called "Emerald Bay" and found it
very buggy (This was originally designed by Wayne Ratliff, the
creator of Dbase and given to a Company called Migent to Market),
they really screwed up, so Ratliff has taken back the product
and it was remarketted a couple of months ago with all bug fixes, I
have not had time to re-evaluate it in detail, but it really
looked very promising. It had elaborate security features and
seemed to have been designed very well. It also has a screen
painting utility, to interactively create the menu's and data
entry screens.

I have being using a product called "CLARION" for the last eight
months to build a large dataentry package, I find both strengths
and weaknesses in it, If anybody is interested in continuing
this discussion and also sharing info on other database packages
I will be more than glad to continue.
