Remote access to the archives does not save trees -- indeed, it worsens tree mortality -- if the archives are in a form which is print-only (not readable on-line) for a good many sites. Never mind the issue of software that understands PostScript; a good many of us don't have the bitmapped displays to show it on even if we had the software.
