What gives? I was talking to an Apple dealer the other day about Apple's dumb 90-day warranty (in the States, anyway). He admitted to me that the whole point of offering only a 90 day warranty is that it gives customers an incentive to buy AppleCare. AppleCare makes dealers lots of money. So its a way for Apple to let dealers make money on Macs without cutting into Apple's profits.
