The main advantage of this approach is that the backdrop picture doesn't have to use the same colours as the Workbench screen. Speaking of Tapestry, I have seen it and am curious to know exactly where it came from. The reason is that when run with no options, it gives a usage line that refers to the command "tc" -- which was the abbreviation I used for my TableCloth program, a 4-colour Workbench backdrop program.
