I know what the "Turbo" version is: It's a higher resolution (1280x1024) X-19
where the 68k microprocessor has been replaced by a 68020! Zoom! I'm not sure
who will use all this speed, as the existing X-19 outperforms a low end
workstation. I wouldn't mind having one though (Boss you hear that?).

I agree... you don have to work at it. I also know that fault coverage on
version 2.2 of the firmware was only about 80%. I believe they have have had
several quick revs of the firmware and have gotten fault coverage up to near
100%. I'm hoping they'll keep the cost of updates low... like letting those
of us who can anon. uucp in and pick up new binaries (Intel Hex format). That
way I can spend money on new X-Terminals and not software updates. :-)
I'm sure there are those of us who would dup PROMs if Visual said it was ok...
for those who don't have the PROM programming tools...

Absolutely! You can squeek (sp?) by on 1MB... but then you can't even run
xphoon :-(  I've upgraded our units... it's a snap... Thanks Visual you did
a great mechanical design job.

Legend:
1 - These RAMs are soldered in by Visual. (Total 1 MB RAM).
2 - Sockets for 2nd MB of RAM
3 - Sockets for 3nd MB of RAM
4 - Sockets for 4nd MB of RAM

The DRAMs I used were from Texas Inst. # TMS44C256-10N, cost ~ $17/ea.
These are 256Kx4 parts.

There are no jumpers to set... tools required one phillips head screwdriver!
