Should these applications be calling a Geneva font instead of > Chicago? No, the Mac is working correctly. The Mac should NEVER change fonts without you telling it to. If you don't have a screen font of the right size (i.e. 9 point Chicago), the Mac will make one, by scaling whatever font size you have (it will use the "best" size available--i.e. it will turn 12 point chicago into 24 point chicago by quadrupling the size of each dot, even if say 18 point chicago is also available). ttul gm
