Some considerations: Mathematica is proprietary. TeX is, while not quite public domain (copyright owned by American Mathematical Society), at least is free. Mathematica can produce TeX output. Can it accept TeX input? What would be nice is to have Mathematica and TeX interconvertibility, perhaps with a sink to ASCII representation. --- Why does every new newsgroup I'm interested in have these discussions?
