$I recently read in PC Magazine that the DOS version of Lotus 1-2-3

1-2-3 R3 requires at least 384K of available extended memory (more if
you don't have much free conventional memory) in order to start up. If
your computer uses up some of the 384K it has, 1-2-3 R3 shouldn't work (I
say "shouldn't" because I've never tried it on such a machine; however,
judging from past experience, I'd bet it won't work).

If you need R3, then buy some more memory - another 512K or 1M won't
really cost you that much these days. Use whatever you have left over
for a disk cache or something - it's worth the money, IMHO.
