Remote access to the archives does not save trees -- indeed, it worsens
tree mortality -- if the archives are in a form which is print-only (not
readable on-line) for a good many sites.  Never mind the issue of software
that understands PostScript; a good many of us don't have the bitmapped
displays to show it on even if we had the software.  Agreed that this puts
us somewhat behind the times, but saying that will not buy us new hardware.
