Can anyone suggest something > better before I go and buy a Unix machine just to do this uncompress ;-) There are two different version of LZDCMP.EXE available via anonymous ftp from kuhub.cc.ukans.edu. The older version, LZDCMP_OLD.EXE will correctly decompress the ANU-NEWS-V59.TAR_Z file if you use the commands: $ LZDCMP:==$dev:[dir]LZDCMP_OLD.EXE $ LZDCMP -B ANU-NEWS-V59.TAR_Z ANU-NEWS-V59.TAR The ANU-NEWS-V59.TAR file produced should work just fine with TAR2VMS. Note that the old version of LZDCMP will not work on files created by the new version of LZDCMP. I keep meaning to debug the new version, but there is always something more important to do. :-) -- USmail: Bob Sloane, University of Kansas Computer Center, Lawrence, KS, 66045 E-mail: sloane@kuhub.cc.ukans.edu, sloane@ukanvax.bitnet, AT&T: (913)864-0444 "The scientific theory I like best is that the rings of Saturn are composed entirely of lost airline luggage." -- Mark Russell
