Let me ask this again.

When I was running X on my VAXstation 2000 (Ultrix 2.2) and on my
Sun 3/60 (SunOS 3.5), I noticed I was limited to only about 20
connections to the X server on the Sun, but could open a least 30
on the Vax. At the time I was told that the differing limits were
a reflection of differing limits on the per-process number of
open file descriptors: 32 in SunOS 3.5, 64 in Ultrix. But now,
after upgrading my sun to 4.0.3 (with a per-process limit of 64
file descriptors), I can still only open about 20 connections to
my X server. How can I raise this limit?
