Hi folks,
I was wondering if somebody could help me.
I ftp'ed a file from a MicroVAX II (VMS 5.1) to a Sun
(it's a binary file) and I was told that it containes
numbers in floating point format.
As I understand it, DEC's fp format is different from IEEE,
so could somebody tell me what it is (I don't have any *fine*
mannuals), like where is the sign, the characteristic, the fraction
and whatever else is there to know.
( these are supposedly 4 byte numbers, but I'm not too sure
about that either)
Thanks in advance.
