Meiss) Organization: University of Colorado, Boulder Lines: 34 Mac SE 20 System 6.02 Dollars and $ense 4.1B I've been using Dollars and $ense, more or less successfully for several years. Suddenly I'm getting system error 2 or 10 each time I try to input a new or edit an old transaction. I was infected by nVir recently (but am now clean according to Disinfectant), so I'm pretty paranoid, so here's what I did: 1) put a brand new system and finder on my SE 20's hard disk 2) Zapped the PRAM 3) Created a brand new D&$ file To no avail...still crashes. So I did the following: 1) Created a brand new floppy with new system 2) Copied a brand new D&$ application onto the floppy from the original, locked disk 2) Started up from the floppy 3) Dismounted the hard disk To no avail....still crashes. I can't possibly see how a pristine system and pristine version of D&$ could crash!!! Maybe the ROM of my Mac has gone bad :(. However nothing else seems to crash. It seems to be crashing someplace in TextEdit. I've tried to look at it with TMON, but TMON usually gets trashed in the crash as well! Any suggestions? in Desperation, Jim Meiss jdm@euclid.colorado.edu
