67 of the 70 offending articles are in the misc hierarchy. It appears
that we have a news loop here in Western NY, with old news occasionally
injected back into the larger net after its history records have expired. With
a little inspired guesswork, I have deduced that some of the sites involved are
expiring history for at least the misc hierarchy at 7 days.

I have already contacted the other sites involved and asked them to
check their history expiration period. Since we are one of the sites involved,
I will accept WELL DOCUMENTED complaints of future occurances. Please send
mail to news@uhura.cc.rochester.edu. Mail directly to me on this topic will
probably be ignored.
