I realize that this is contrary to IM guidlines and the User Interface
police will probably be hot on my trail, but I was wondering if
anyone knows of a startup screen INIT which adjusts the screen
depth to, say 8 bits, before displaying the startup screen and then
restores the screens depth after its done. I rarely run in anything
other than 1-bit mode (for speed) but I do have a bunch of startup
screens that are much nicer to view in 8-bit mode.

Does such an INIT exist, and if so how can I get a hold of it?

Thanks heaps -
