Kyan Software in SF created 'Kyan Pascal,' but last I heard Kyan was
defunct.

Too bad, too.  If you have a chance to buy Kyan Pascal, do so.  It is
impressive.  All the goodies are there, and the assembler linkage puts
Turbo to shame - it allows direct input to the assembler rather than
funny-looking "inline" code.

It also produces very fast code.  In general, highly recommended.
