Well, I was the person who told Geoff "It doesn't work." Well, it
does :-).

Lots of little switches to try.  I finally found the combination to
get it working.  It will not work on IRQ 2; apparently the Model D
uses that interrupt for a special real-time clock.  In addition, it
will not pass the diagnostics (not even the initialization test, I
believe) if there is no *cable* attached to the board.

Now I can get back to work...
