This model uses a dual CVAX processor card with an on-card SCSI port. DEC says that this port uses synchronous SCSI (as opposed to the 3100's asynchronous port). However, no one at Tech Support will tell me if I can use third party devices with the 3520. In addition, the vendors have no idea whether their devices (a CDC Sabre disk drive and Kennedy 9612 tape drive) will work with the 3520. The best answer I've gotten is that 'it works on the 3100'. Does anyone out there know if these devices will work (well?) on the 3520? What SCSI chip does the 3520 use? Jon
