Sorry Pete, No Go: fractional widths only influences text, I can demo
the problem using only rectangles and/or lines drawn on a grid to
assure allignment. Reduction in MS Word will produce results that are
not alligned, i.e. the corners of the rectangles no longer meet. I
tried your suggestion against my intuition and found it NOT producing
the desired improvement.

Anyone else?
