I had no trouble running a separate lpd on each node after I fixed the
various permissions on all the required files.  I don't know if it
was installed badly, open vs closed or what, but owner, group, setuid,
setgid, etc were all in various states other than what they should be.
I just set them up as the UNIX sysadmin book indicated.
