My server is just a PS/2-30-286 with standard IBM 20M hard disk (not much, but this is a toy network for experimentation only). I can't seem to specify the internal hard disk properly to NETGEN. The manual indicates that I should specify it as an AT-type drive on channel 0, but when I try this the installation process fails with a "no drives found" message. The drive is working just fine (I've been running DOS off it for a month or so now). I just took the default channel 0 settings. The manual seems to tell me that I shouldn't have to do anything to prepare an internal drive for which the driver is built-in to Netware. The machine has 2M installed, and a WD8003E (which has also been working fine). I'm using the Clarkson Packet Driver and BYU Novell drivers for it. What am I doing silly here? By the way, the only other disk driver option shown is the PS2-30-286 MFM controller. Even though the manual implies that MFM controllers are only on MCA PS/2's I gave it a try and it fails much earlier with an ABEND: unable to reset controller message. -- David Lassner, University of Hawaii Computing Center INTERNET: david@uhccux.uhcc.hawaii.edu BITNET: david@uhccux Voice: 808/948-7351 FAX: 808/946-5848
