Some of us have gotten used to vi...Some of us have gotten used to uEmacs... I for one continue to use vi on almost every platform that I have available. It is typically quite compact and quite fast and easily obtainable on most platforms, even on the mac. After all, there is something to be said about a common interface ;^). There _is_ a vi clone available for the mac that is called STEVIE. It is not a complete implementation but it does handle regular expressions quite well (thanks to henry spencer's regexp lib). STEVIE (ST Editor for VI Enthusiasts) was originally written on an Atari (gasp;^) ST but was ported to the Mac some months ago. You should be able to find it in the Info-mac archives at sumex or on the listserver at rice. __________________________________________________________________ Randy Thompson uunet!smsdpg!rht SMS Data Products Group, Inc. - or - 703/648-9400 rht@smsdpg.UUCP __________________________________________________________________
