Message-ID:Date: 13 Aug 89 06:34:50 GMT Sender: news@phoenix.Princeton.EDU Distribution: comp Organization: Cognitive Science Lab. Princeton University. Lines: 22 A while back I posted a message about fileserver (8000) not responding when I'm doing cleanup on my 1108 (running Koto) and the target files are to be put on the fileserver. Someone then posted something about a Lisp Patch to be put onto the fileserver as a way to solve the problem. Well, I just discovered that this "not responding" thing tend to happen when there are other people (ususally only 2 other persons) on the net doing multiple simultaneous accesses to the same fileserver while I am doing the cleanup. So, I just wonder if the fileserver is geared towards this sort multiple simultaneous random access and how the Lisp Patch might solve this problem. Any pointers appreciated. -- Eric Ho Cognitive Science Lab., Princeton University voice = 609-987-2819 (x2987) email = eho@confidence.princeton.edu eho@bogey.princeton.edu regards. -eric-
