I've had this kind of trouble when I copy PICTs from MacDraw to Word and
the Fractional Widths settings are not the same in both programs.  This
is particularly annoying because MacDraw II defaults to Fractional Widths
*on* (at least in early versions), while Word defaults to *off*.

To work around, either turn off Fractional Widths in MacDraw and re-copy your
PICT, or turn on Fractional Widths in Word.
