They informed me that it was not a user serviceable part, but after begging and pleading they sold it to me for under $20. I don't know if they made a mistake, or they where just trying to get rid of me, but I think most third party fans like SE silencer run about $50, and I think the Dealer wanted like $80 or more to it for me. I found the process of installing the fan pretty easy, but I'm not really too squeemish about taking my Mac apart and soldering to the video board. (I guess if you did not want to solder, you could just cut the wires and splice them with wire nuts) The apple kit did not come with any instructions, but once you get your mac apart, and the video board out, it's only a matter of 2 screws and 2 wires.
