Subject: vbs records gt 32760

Has anyone written variable spanned records with record length
greater than the max blksize of 32760??? The data admin manual seems to
indicate that lrecl=x and locate mode should be used but isn't real clear as
to where the record length is set. My interpretation of this is that I
get to segment the records myself and build the requisite descriptor words.
Which seems a shame since QSAM is supposed to have a 'logical record facility'
and do all that stuff for you.
Is there an easier way that I am missing?
