Jon,
The 3520 SCSI is synchronous SCSI, as is the DECstation 3100.  In fact,
they use the same SCSI chip (a Digital proprietary chip).  The
VAXstation 3100 is asynchronous SCSI and uses a different chip.  The
tech support people can not keep track of the third party peripherals'
status on our SCSI; at least not yet.
