I am kicking around the idea of taking the EIT exam here in
NY State. My office mate has indicated an interest in
studying along with me and taking the exam. The question is
whether NY State will allow someone with a non ECPD accredited
degree (he has a BS/MS in CS) to take the EIT. I have one older
study guide (1984) that indicates individuals with degress in
"closely related fields" are allowed to do the EIT, provided
they have some experience of an engineering nature, but that
this particular avenue was gradually being phased out. Does
anyone happen to know the law for EIT/PE in NY? Yes, I already
have the name of the person to call in Albany :-)
