I love the computer industry!  In the time since we have bought our
drive, the price has dropped (of course).  
In looking through "Digital Review" this morning, I noticed that
Kimberly Electronics has the XT-8760E for $3295.  They don't mention
a controller, though.
They are at 1-800-843-4009 (in NJ 201-387-0872).
