We have a disagreement about whether to turn off the monitors for our Sun
3 workstations at night. Someone claims that this will prolong the life
of the monitors becuase of the high voltage they use. My thinking is that
since the system has the automatic blank-out feature, to turn them off and
on will do more harm to the tube. To resolve this issue, we would like to
hear some expert's opinion and experience.

Sorry to bring up this old subject, but I forgot what was the verdict of
the last discussion. Please share your opinion to this group or email to
myself. Thank you.
