You can get pretty much the same effect with NeoDesk. You can install the
icon for a program anywhere on the desktop, as opposed to just dragging
it around to another folder. NeoDesk remembers the pathname to where the
program actually resides, and will set the default directory there when
you click on the icon. Very handy, and it lets you keep all files
associated with a single program in the same folder, which is nice when
it's time to upgrade... (I'm using 2.0x something or other, not quite the
latest, but pretty fun. And no relation to the authors or their company...)
