Keywords: Mac, Serial, RAM serial Message-ID: <1539@ndmath.UUCP> Date: 19 Aug 89 15:46:01 GMT Organization: Math. Dept., Univ. of Notre Dame Lines: 20 I've been putting together a multiplayer computer game that communicates via phone lines. One thing I've noticed is that there is a substantial slowdown of the game when it is sending data out the serial port. I don't THINK this is anything I'm doing...could it be the interrupt overhead the serial port handler? On a Mac+ the slowdown appears to be between 1/3 and 1/2, but it's hard to measure exactly. I currently use the RAM serial driver...would use of the ROM driver be any faster? Any suggestions would be appreciated!
