My son has used Videoworks II (at a summer camp) and now wants a copy.
I've seen a little of it--the animation is pretty good, and it seems
to have about a hundred built-in sounds.

Has anyone out there used this or similar animation programs? What
should I look for (and look out for) in these programs? What are the
main competitors to Videoworks? I don't want to buy Videoworks if
there is something clearly better! I've heard of Studio 1; is this
the same kind of thing?

This would be for recreation and general use, so factors that
contribute to ease-of-use and enjoyability are probably more important
than quality of the finished product (within limits, of course). I
have a Mac+, so color support is not a concern.

Please email me. If I get enough information/opinions I will post a
summary to the net.
