X11 *is* device-dependent and pixel-oriented, and PostScript
*is* device-independent and not pixel-oriented.

So, you can quite simple take a bitmap snapshot and make it 
a valid PostScript program with 'image' calls.
But a inverted digitalization from an X11 bitmap to PostScript
lines and arc and ... is *very* difficult and a current
research topic for some people in these days.
