[question regarding non-curling laser paper...]

Well, our lab uses Hammermill Bond Long Grain (-10M-S20) and the sheets
seem to stay reasonably flat, and feed well into the document feeder of
our copier.  This paper has a "smoother" side but its hard to tell the
difference.
