A friend at the University of Milan had her Vax 11/750 attacked by
hackers last week: the result was the partial destruction of the
file system.

She tried to rebuild the file system from the periodic dumps
following these steps (as she had always done in the past)

	1) console mode
	2) b
	3) dda0
	4) start loading the 1st BSD system generation tape
	5) continue reading from the dump tapes

Now the problem is that DEC has changed the ROMS with the new revision
9 ones: well, they won't recognise the tape unit.

Has someone experienced something similar in the past? If the answer
is YES please send me mail. If necessary i will summarize.
Thanks in advance.
