Actually, X/NeWS is really nice from what I know of it. It runs X and NeWS application faster than the current X and NeWS offerings from Sun (not difficult on the X side except for the X11r4 server, which may be faster than X/NeWS but I'm not sure). It will also support Open Look compatible toolkits for X (the AT&T toolkit and an X rewrite of the SunView toolkit) and for NeWS (NDE). I don't think they'll have a Motif toolkit any time soon :-).
