Lines: 28 After finding scrambled sprites on three new games (shareware Peter's Quest, Steinschlag and Compute!'s Arcade Volleyball, I nearly panicked. My A1000 is getting up there in years and I was sure that my machine was going. A friend told me that his 2000 did same on those games. Several hours of experimentation paid off. The problem was with my system-configuration saved with preferences 1.3 (the same problem happens with Potter's Preferences)! I can use the 1.3 prefs if I run it before the game and click DEFAULT SETTINGS (then switch to 80 columns). If I save the default settings and reboot, I still have scrambled sprites. I *HAVE* to run preferences before the game. I suppose this could be the fault of "creative" programming techniques, but it seems that there is a little critter in 1.3. -- ############################################################# # PRIVATE # SAC-UNIX, Sacramento, Ca. # # PARKING # UUCP=...pacbell!sactoh0 # #############################################################
