They compiled with gcc (version 1.35, according to your message), linked and ran without even a warning message. This really surprised me, because other people have reported reams of warning messages from gcc in the past, and I haven't changed some of the things that annoyed it. If someone else with a different rev of gcc would like me to try compiling on their machine, I'll be glad to do it. I just need an account accessible from the Internet for both telnet and ftp, and about 2.5 meg of disk space. Also need the X11 library (just for compiling and linking), and (GNU) emacs for minor editing. As a bonus, you get to run the pre-release 1.4 before anyone else gets it. :-) A few things will undoubtedly change before the official release (planned for a week or two from now), so you'll want to get the files again when it comes out. Be sure to read history.doc to see what changed. L. Peter Deutsch ghost@aladdin.com Aladdin Enterprises ...{uunet,parcplace}!aladdin!ghost P. O. box 60264, Palo Alto, CA 94306
