    I got the  unpleasant (to say the very least, after 4 hours of compilation)
    surprise (yeah, I know, I should have looked more carefully) that X11R3
    required (at least as defined  in the hpux.macros file) a BSD-compatible
    'install' program which in this case was called 'bsdinstall'.

Look in util/scripts/bsdinst.sh
