The "destruction" is rather complete.  There will be at least one block (often
block #2) that can't be read by anything, Block Warden, Mr. Fixit, Copy //+,
etc.  What is unusual (to me at least) is the I will not be able to reformat
the disk.  The munged block stays forever munged.  But it is not "consistent"
in the sense that everytime I write to the disk, I get this problem.  Just
occassionally.
