Regarding recent questions about setting up lpd for an apollo network,
we cannot get it to work as described in the administration manual.

	We are running SR10.1 ( and SR10.0P on a DN10000 ) -

prmgr, prsvr and lpd run on the printing node, the spool queues are
	also on the printing node.
If the other nodes on the ring have a spool directory with a file
'servername' specifying the printing node any print requests are
queued but the warning 'no daemons present' is returned. The only
way to cause printing to start is to restart (lpc) the required
	printer on the printing node.

We do actually have lpd working by running lpd on every node, but
with the printcap file giving the full pathname of the spool
directory on the printing node (the only /usr/spool/lpd directory
	in the network).

NB The DN10000 doesn't even work using the second method.

Is this a problem with lpd, NCS or something else?

On a completely different subject - I have X Windows Version
2, Revision 3 up and running on our network. When will
apollo (UK or US) release their official version (with
X Windows and DM support) and the MOTIF interface?
