A suggested device that would make certain things very convenient:

	SHELL: invokes your favorite shell (named in an
environment variable?), attaches its input and output, and gives
it the  as the command line.  Actually, rather than an
arbitrary shell, it should probably just do a CLI, to conserve
memory and give a predictable environment.

	kermit download to "shell:uncompress >ram:foo"
	save file as "shell:csh -c 'detab|indent|format>ram:foo'"

Nothing that couldn't be done with pipes, but you wouldn't have
to flip back and forth between the application and the shell to
get the thing done.
