As several people have pointed out, people with strong views can
also expect strong rejoinders. This however, does not give anybody
the right to abuse. In particular, it is reasonable to express views on
something that can be changed but it is wrong to criticize immutables.
Thus, for example, to abuse a person for being a woman (no nonsense
about sex change, please) or being black is just crap; no person should
have to put up with it. It is harder to say the same thing about religion,
but that is a different story.
