Ben Blish, of SoftCircuits (about to go belly up due to reasons beyond his
control), is working hard on a Ham interface that will allow about a
gazillion modes of SSTV, Fax, etc. He expects to sell the package, hardware
and software for about $100 US. Says it will have lots of buttons and
knobs on screen, "because Hams like to twiddle them". From the sound of it,
it will put the other machines of the same type to shame, being both quick
(using Digiview or Live! to grab the pics), and versatile (more modes,
including some that other machines only rarely have), and will cost a lot
less, even including the (minimum) 1 meg A500.
