The changes are confined to the procedure `sort-columns' and eliminate the use of the unix "sort" call, replacing it with an emacs-lisp call to sort-subr. The result will now under under VMS, and should in fact also run under unix. The fix also removes the restriction of disallowing TAB characters in the input. The difference file is rather small, and I'd be happy to send it out if anyone wants it. If there is sufficient interest, I'll post it. E-mail to any of the addresses below.
