To all people who sent a disk to David A. Liscomb a while back for the game Nethack 2.3e, if you are having any disk drive troubles, get a virus checker. I got a case of the Byte Bandit virus that rampaged through half of my disks, and the only place I can find that the virus would have come from is off the disk that he sent me. The symptoms of this virus are: Computer lock-up. (Most serious.) Disk drive gives errors when write-protect tab set to inhibit. says "Disk not validated" or something like that. DON'T un-protect the disks!! This is how the virus spreads. Disk drive will not initialize disks. Much thanks to Byte Bandit, whoever he is, I'd like to send *him* a virus that would wipe out his entire disk collection. And to Liscomb, if this did come from him, thanks. I knew you were sending me some extra stuff, but the virus is not what I had in mind. MADSAX@blake.acs.washington.edu ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- !
