Lines: 15 I may be missing something here, but given the nature of this project/board I would design it to take both some 256Kx4 bit chips and a set of 1Mx1 bit chips, say 4 MEG of by ones and 2 MEG of by fours. It shouldn't add much to the cost of the the board (since you don't have to do any switching, just detect which sockets are filled), and will allow most users to buy 1 MEG of memory now, and fill the board when the 1 MEG chips come down to $5 a pop.
