Most replies assumed a PC/AT hardware environment, which was my own fault for not making myself clear. Also, all I really wanted to do was reset the processor. In fact, my hardware is an Intel iSBC 286/12 board. ^^^^ c Intel. This supports a soft reset by writing byte 01 to port 00E0, as anyone with the Hardware Reference Manual can look up themselves! Still, the replies were interesting. Regards, -- Tom Sandersor <...mcvax!ukc!idec!sanders> JANET: sanders%idec@uk.ac.ukc
