I must agree with Teriann Wakeman who writes, "learning to use UNIX is as
intuitive as trying to assemble a chinese puzzle when it is handed to you
unassembled."

I've used a large number of operating systems, UNIX, VM/CMS, VMS, DOS, CP/m
and so on. There is no reason to make something hard to use. The only
suggestion for the select by... idea that is thinkable in a user friendly
enviroment is the idea of changing the inactive open menu item to an
open..., which would bring up a dialog box with the option of choosing text
or type or something of that sort. The MAC cannot support a direct command
line without making things very complicated!
