It seems that CBM has an eye to UNIX OS with its Amiga 2500 and 3000. However, it is behind Apple and NeXT. So CBM needs UNIX source code immediately. How about CBM's donation to Free Software Foundation (FSF) for their free UNIX project, Or to Prof. Andy S. Tannenbaum for his (not free, but almost) MINIX project. And bundle FSF's GNU-UNIX or MINIX with every 2500 and 3000. Then people are eager to donate their time with programs that are going to run under GNU Unix or MINIX. Then CBM's desktop UNIX machine will be the cheapest among the four companies' desktops (Apple, IBM, NeXT, and CBM) and their UNIX will be ready right away with the X windows. Then all that CBM needs is some graphical interface on top of X Windows. Well, do you, netlanders, have any thought? Hugh Internet : gsg0384@uxa.cso.uiuc.edu
