A story related to me by a Swiss machine shop head: the first piece
you're given is a solid steel cube (approx. 2"). The object is to make a
sphere out of it using only a file. The inspects it, and,
if he likes it, you can go on to the next job. What is the next job? You
guessed it. Make it square again.

I guess that's why only the Swiss make Swiss watches.
