Could someone please explain what these GS devices are and
how they work? I take they are some sort of electromagnetic
positioning thing, but exactly what?

I have often thought that I would like a light show type display
instead of staring at a CRT all day. It seems doable to set up
a scanning system which would continously redraw the letters on
a wall, just like an old vector drawing graphics display. Ideally,
there would be a card in my PC which would emulate a standard
text card and would connect out the back to the display device.

Ideas? Comments? References to previous work?
