I will just add a comment of my own here regarding HP support of "other" software. We (The U of Utah) have gotten generous assistance from HP to help with our work on getting 4.3bsd running on various 9000/300 and 800 HP-PA machines. They are really making an effort to provide a more complete range of options to their customers. Having real bsd running may provide a better base for some third party or even public domain stuff. But remember that HP is a relatively LARGE company in the computer business, and one group may not be aware of what all the others are doing. mjb. ps: 800 bsd is not yet available. mjb@hoosier.utah.edu Oops, missed the turn, guess I'll endanger all these people and do something stupid - much more fun than going around the block.
