Problem uucp'ing from SHOP Summary: Got it! + call waiting... One news reader was kind enough to point out that I need to switch to DATA when dialing up. Rather obvious, but I assumed since it dialed the number in either case, it wouldn't make a difference whether line is on DATA or not. In any case, the entry for "other" was the correct one. Everything else worked fine. CALL WAITING: Actually call waiting has worked out very nicely. By dialing *70+... I can disable the feature when I need to. Otherwise, I can leave it on, stay logged on all the time, and not worry about people not being able to reach me. It does get kind of ugly to get disconnected, for instance, when I'm posting news, but it hasn't been to big a problem for me. Believe it or not, my dorm room only comes with one (!) telephone line for me to do ALL data and voice communications. Again, thanks for all the help. Bill
