Lines: 23 I asked the question as in Subject line yesterday. Thanks many netters who wrote to me. A PD program, Lone Ranger, written by Jon Pugh, does exactly what we wanted. Here I quote from the document of Lone Ranger: What this program does is change data files from one program to another. For example, MacPaint and FullPaint use the exact same file type, but they merely have different creators. Use the Lone Ranger to change all of your MacPaint docs to FullPaint or visa-versa. It can do this to any type of document that the Mac can use. This program also allows you to select any subtree from an HFS volume. I used Fedit to change all the occurrences of MACA in Kermit 0.9 to EDIT. This would enable to double-click open downloaded text files with Edit automatically. I tried to do the same trick to Telnet. It does not work. The file creator assigned by Telnet is unknown (????). BTW, do the authors of Telnet read the news in the group? I have some questions for them. Thanks to Jon Pugh. You will be bribed for Lone Ranger.
