Ah, you're right. Previous versions of LSP didn't have the concept of hiding things like LightsBug and the Observe Window, so I was confused. By the way, I dislike this feature of LSP. I wish clicking in the close box did the normal "complete" close, and command-clicking did the hide. It's one of the hardest things about LSP to explain to novice users.
