Can anyone provide me with a good TeX or (better yet) LaTeX format for
writing plays? I have a crude one here, but a really good one would
have:

* Appropriate act and scene numbers in the headlines.

* Give stage directions narrower margins than dialogue. (Yes, this is
what they do in the producer's copy of the script.)

* (Bonus) Line numbers in the margins.

It might have other stuff as well, but I don't know enough about
typesetting plays to know what else is needed.

Please e-mail. I will post what appears to be the best format after the
dust clears and final exams are over.
