Makes about 12k or so?... - length of registration period--prereg 1 wk, regular 2 days. It's done alphabetically, & they start w/ a different letter every quarter/trimester. This is for in person reg; most reg is done by mail - see below. - how easy is it to get your classes?--I never had any problems, then again, I didn't go for small, popular classes like in our Religious Studies dept. - when do you have to pay tuition? (before, during, or after)--usually at reg, but you can get a "deferment" if you need time to scrape up some funds. Also tuition can be mailed in considerably before the next quarter/trimester. - how does your school handle limited enrollment classes--most have a waiting list. Sign up, go to first day of class, & if you're near the top of the list (maybe first 5 or so) then you can talk to the prof & you'll probly get in. Unless the prof is a tightass, or the class is just super popular. - how registration is handled (pre, mailin, phonein, normal)--most reg is now mailin, tho some folks still insist on doing it in person. Class lists still need to be signed in person at our Old Union or at the dept where the class is offered. About 3 wks into the quarter, everyone hands in a "study list" that lists everything you want to take that quarter - this gives students time to arrange their schedules, pick the classes they want, & bag the dead ones (like math classes taught by 80-yr-old incomprehensible geezers...). However, a big complaint is that grads, undeclared undergrads & certain majors (ie Music) need to have their advisors sign their study lists. Imagine, the Univ admini- stration doesn't trust grad students to pick their own classes! It has to be OK'd by their advisors!
