Ok, I have developed DOSGATE, a DEVICE driver that runs under
DOS... it replaces the console driver (IE: ANSI.SYS)... and allows one
to control the machine via the serial port, AND the console... It was
developed for Amateur Packet Radio use, but I tried to make it flexible
enough so one could control the machine via a modem, or even an RS-232
line.

It DOES NOT protect from the remote user destroying your machine,
but the DOS's do give some hints on that...

It will allow you to run ANY MS-DOS specific program.. That is
ANY software the does NOT do it's I/O via DOS calls (ie: BIOS calls
or directly accessing the hardware will bypass the DOSGATE) won't work.

I am now in Beta test... I hope to distribute as shareware...

Could this help you? If you write your programs in 'C' and don't access
the hardware directly (ie: printf's scanf's for I/O will work fine) then
it will work... I have noticed that BASIC (even compiled Basic) directly
accesses the hardware and bypasses the device driver...
