Lines: 21 [] Maybe I'm stating the obvious, but I believe that the payload for this flight was what was supposed to be flown on STS-62A, the first Vandenberg launch in the Spring of '86. I just noticed that three of the '62A crew are on this flight : Guy Gardner, Richard Mullane and Jerry Ross. The official 62A crew shot is in the article on military astronauts in the Nov. issue of Space World mag. I especially liked the line from the article "Air Force Undersecretary Edward 'Pete' Aldridge, . . ., assigned himself to Mission 62-A". Gee, I wish I could assign myself to a mission. . . -- *** mike (starship janitor) smithwick *** "Scientists say 'Saturn is so light, if you put it in a bucket of water, it would float'. Don't forget, it would also leave a ring". [disclaimer : nope, I don't work for NASA, I take full blame for my ideas]
