I suspect it was someone from Abel who ate it. :-) I'm so fed up with Abel Supply Inc., that I wasn't going to bother to mention their name again. However, after I posted this message on a local BBS (MindLink (604) 533-2312), I received enough recommendations that I post it here and on CI$ that I decided to give it one more comment. On the Labour Day weekend, I ordered a number of pieces of software from Able. They included DPaint II and DPaint Art disks. I figured these are pretty normal stock items for Amiga software and shouldn't be a big deal. Two weeks later when I didn't have them, I called again and heard them say that they were on their way soon. Sorry, we were just temporarily out of stock. Blah, blah, blah. A week later no DP products. Another phone call. They said Oops, sorry about that, they're on there way RSN. Blah, blah. End of September the same story. Early October, same story. Second week of October same story. Third week same story. PLUS I got my Visa bill with a charge from Abel on Sept 26, for DP II. I phoned again (by this time my phone bill is in excess of $50.00!) and left E-Mail asking what is going on (again). Sysop says he'll get back to me. Next day, no E-Mail from sysop. Another day, no mail. Finally, in early November, I left a private E-Mail for the sysop in which I included the comment 'This is bull****' (edited for public posting) and reviewed the history of trying to get a very common item from them. The next day I got a brief, sanctamonious E-Mail from the sysop saying that he did not like my language (one BS) in private mail, that he would no longer accept orders from me, and that they would immediately issue a credit to my Visa # for the DP II charge. I have called Visa several times since then. They have not yet issued the credit (almost four weeks later). I have had to write to Visa to ask them to issue the credit and deal with Visa. I have also written to the manager at Abel outlining the history and asking for a reply. I have not received acknowledgement of that letter. On the other hand, they delivered my hard drive in about 3 1/2 weeks and I haven't had any problems with it. -- Ernie Gorrie 9431 McBurney Drive, Richmond, B.C.
