It's a better book than Mednieks, although I keep both handy and find that there are places where I'll pull out the Mednieks book to look something up because it's easier to find there (this is primarily a case of each index having different strengths and weaknesses). I find them to be pretty complimentary to each other, frankly. What I'd *really* like to see, and I don't see why someone hasn't done it by now, is a good C book based in LSC. It doesn't exist (that I've found). If they were to update Takatsuka for the new toys and convert it to LSC, I'd bet it'd give Danny Goodman's books a run for the money in the best seller lists. Now, how to convince the publishers we don't *need* the 39th HyperCard book and get them to publish some real programming book instead. >; and the new 2nd Edition of Knaster's HOW TO WRITE >MACINTOSH SOFTWARE, which is advertised as having an expanded section on C >programming -- anyone had a chance to compare the two? I've heard that the revisions primarily have to do with libing happily under multifinder, but I could be wrong. I haven't had a chance to go browsing recently.... [Disclaimer time: you'll notice my name in the acknowledgements for the Mednieks book.
