Message-ID: <1556@ssc.UUCP> Date: 1 Dec 88 19:14:54 GMT References: <418@telly.UUCP> Organization: SSC, Inc., Seattle, WA Lines: 17 I have had a copy of the beta release of Enix for some time now. We didn't run it on our 'real' system but I have used it and it seems like real system 5. Found a couple of bugs in the beta but nothing exciting. My interpretation of their intent (that should get anyone who told me things off the hook) is to make UNIX a commodity so people will buy computers and run UNIX. They hope that some people will buy Everex hardware but Everex doesn't sell everything (smart comm boards, for example) so they have to support other hardware. After I get the real release (I am expecting it within a week or so) I will try to post a more detailed list of experiences. -- Phil Hughes, SSC, Inc. P.O.
