Not true. I routinely use Applelink, which is a mail/bbs system
provided by Geisco (?) to Apple, over an X.25 network with about
1200-2400 bps throughput during the day. The user interface is
graphical, but communication isn't. You lose the advantages of
integrated text/graphics (graphics has to go in upload/download files)
but the system's implemented on some MIS-type mainframe that can't
handle graphics, anyway.
