This problem sounded familiar, but I can't remember the cause.
We have an Apple HD20 hard disk that can no longer be written
to. Examples: From the Finder put some files in the trash,
empty the trash, restart, and the files reappear. Or, save a
file on the disk from any application - it seems to work, but
the file never shows up. Mysteriously there are no error mes-
sages. Furthermore, reinitializing the disk solves the prob-
lem, but only temporarily. Please email any suggestions to
    Brian Clark - clark@boulder.colorado.edu
or reply to me and I will forward.

PS: Configuration is Mac Plus, HD20, System Software 6.0.2, no
fancy stuff.
