With a 512K 1000 and 2 floppies, I figured I din't have enough memory to have everything I wanted made resident, but when my machine ran out of memory while loading Access! during the startup sequence, instead of just giving me a guru or telling me I'm out of memory, the screen just went blank (in the background color I was using at the time) and hung. When I did the three finger salute, I got the Kickstart hand! Why would running out of memory cause a hardware reset (isn't this the only way in software to wipe out WCS?)? Is Access! known to do strange things when running out of memory? -- Dan Howell <...!pyramid!comdesign!ivucsb!dan>-- The Heineken Uncertainty Principle: -- You can never be sure how many beers you had last night.
