These lasted about 10 times as long as the original batteries ( I don't know if the originals were nicads or not), and they never stopped working. We were very satisfied with them. Radio Electronics published a nice article on how to build a gel-cel charger using a lm317 and some other stuff, and we built several of these and sold them to our customers!
