The loaner I have from work is OK for draft quality stuff, but getting mulitiple character sets and near letter quality (NLQ) is not possible. My requirements for a printer to work with my 1040ST are fairly modest: * Near letter quality (This one *is* a must) * Multiple character sets (Must accept Publishing Partner fonts, etc.) * Graphics capability (I don't have a sophisticated need, but some is needed) * Reasonable character speed in draft and NLQ modes * Reasonable price (under $300 is good, approaching < $200 is better) At one point in the past, I had decided on a Panasonic 1091i(?) as having the best bang for the buck, low user hassles, etc. But as I don't really stay current, I don't know what the recommendations/views are now, so I would appreciate anyone's views (from experience). If some kind of survey or summary has been done in the recent past, a copy of that would be great. E-mail is best so as to not clutter the net, unless, of course, there is enough general interest to make posting worthwhile. Thanx. Jeff Shore at {..!ihnp4}!druin!jhs
