We are looking for a database system with which to manage our
departmental stockroom inventory. Our first choice is to do it
all on our departmental Unix system (system V) though the job
could probably be done on micros. When we total up the costs of
licensing several copies of a micro package along with the cost
of the micros themselves, we find that we are exceeding our budget.
Thus, we are looking for a lowcost db package for our unix box.
Is there any such package available? Something that can be
licensed to an educational institution for under, say, 4K?
Anybody know anything about a package called /rdb?

thanks in advance.
