Hello Bill (or to whom it concerns),

I was attempting to get GNU Emacs up and running on an 80386 based machine
today (Emacs version 18.52) using the GCC compilier (gcc version 1.28).
Anyway even with the -traditional flag specified I recieved the following
error during the ld phase of generating temacs.

_divsi3 undefined
_udivsi3 undefined

I then switched to the standard pcc (cc) compilier supplied with SysV.3
and everything went OK, so I don't know if this is a bug in emacs or
with gcc. Here is my machine configuration as I am sure it will be of
help to you in figuring out the problem.

Everex Step 386/20 w/4meg RAM and 300meg HD
Microport V/386 version 3.0 (System V Release 3.0)

Also I used the files m-intel386.h and s-usg5-3.h for creating emacs. I figured
it was best to use the GNU C compilier to make another GNU package, but I guess
not in this case :-(. If you have anything I might try to to make emacs with
the GCC compilier, please drop me some email and I will try it...
