I am interested in music editing but I do not know much things
on the subject.

My purpose is to make transcription of scores easy, so that I
can play chamber music with friends at any time, no matter the
instruments we play. I am looking for a software that would run on a
mac or an IBM pc and that, besides usual editing operations, would be
able to perform the following operations:
			+ transposition
+ clef changing. For instance when you want
the violin2 part played by a viola, though it is not a very usual
situation.

Last but not least, it is definitely too difficult to type the
Beethoven's 17 quartetts. So does there exist a scanner for music
scores?

I would greatly appreciate any information on these topics.
Thanks in advance
				Yves NICOLAS.
