She is interested in expanding into an on-line information service and has approached me to help design such a system. A am a long- time Mac user but have never developed any software before. The main thing I would like to be able to do is store events in a database (third party software or Hypercard??) with which I could develop a browse/query front-end and also BE ABLE TO UPLOAD DATABASE ENTRIES INTO A MICROSOFT WORD DOCUMENT once a month to produce the hardcopy newsletter. I am experienced in database design and have no doubts I can do the design and programming. My question is: how easy will it be to extract database records into a Microsoft Word document? Am I better off using a commercial database package or will Hypercard get the job done? Any database recommendations?
