Subject: Windowing system for Compaq 386's runnign SYSV.3

Please forgive me if this subject has been hashed
to death in the past, I am new to this newsgroup.

We are about to implement a bunch if Compaq 386sx's
running SYSV.3 that have VGA and mouse support. I
want to know if anyone out there knows of a windowing
system (like X) that runs under System V and is
reasonably easy to port to different hardware configurations
(i.e. display devices and mice). We are a SYSV.3 source
code licensee so we are able to make reasonable kernel changes
if necessary to support a particular windowing system. I know
very little about X and NeWS and what hardware/OS's they
run on. I am basically looking for any and all information
on this subject that I can gather.

Any help and information would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks,
Tim Henrion
