How is some one who is paid alot fresh out of school being exploited?  Or do
you mean they are exploited after being plateaued?  If so, then is that what
is hidden from the freshmen?  "keeps them from noticing what's going on",
that after a few years they're going to get stuck?  (in a plateau :-)

I feel like I'm missing the point here.
