Stuart,

The Host Requirements draft says a TCP must not (try to) open a
connection to a remote broadcast or multicast address.  I found here at
ISI that when my Sun opens a TCP connection to a broadcast address, the
ISI Symbolics machines crash in an obscure way.  The Operations group was
most unhappy, said it was my fault.
