You should be able to just open the document, although Mac Word was not the creator, so the icon will be a generic document icon. Boxes would seem to indicate ascii character values that are not defined for the particular Mac font you're using -- you could try changing the font (?). But you should see the standard kinds of formatting (bold, underlining, indents, tabs, etc.). If worse comes to worse, try converting it to IBM DCA format first, then transfer it, then open it with the utility "DCA Conversion" which comes with Word, and transfer it to Word. -- - Scott
