I had a weird problem with my Mac SE just now. Everything was fine
until suddenly, spurious characters would be generated with each
keypress.

In Versaterm, S's would appear between keystrokes. In an editor, it
would be *'s. I unplugged the cable from my keyboard and a continuous
stream of *'s would appear, and this would continue even if I
unplugged the cable altogether.

After plugging the cable in and out a few times, trying different ADB
ports, the problem went away. Phew.

Anyone know what might have caused this? Is there something wrong
with my Mac?

Inquiring minds want to know...
