It is a small step in the right direction, and by the looks of it, the market is much more willing to accept a small step than a large one. If there are ways in which that small step can be made a bit larger, I for one would be interested to hear about them. It may not be too late to improve the situation. Please don't just say "C++ is crummy and everyone should run right out and spend lots of time and effort learning about Smalltalk before saying anything more". I, for one, don't have time to do that just now.
