As sysadmin at serene, I run pnet as a front-end to news, and alt.sex is 
a closed topic.  For access I require anyone I don't know to send me a 
photocopy of their drivers license.  Yes, it would be possible to fool me,
but I feel I've taken "reasonable precautions".  Basically, I guess I really
don't personally care whether they're 18 or not, I'm just trying to ensure
that I've followed the rules.

Oh yeah, I recommend that if you're going to solicit your users to send mail
to you, that you get a PO box...
