Is there a product available to allow occasional file and/or mail transfer
between a Unix SysV R3 machine and an AppleTalk/PhoneNet MAC network
using RS232 as a physical transport ? The primary purpose of this link would
be to allow outputting of ASCII lp spooler files from the Unix system to
the LaserWriter on the net. RS232 is desireable over Ethernet due to low cost
and the relatively low usage. From a hardware standpoint, it appears
that the Shiva NetSerial (RS232 to Appletalk) will satisfy the hardware
requirements.
.
In addition, any mail/file transfer servers that would work in this
environment would be useful.

Art
