For instance, the scroll bars: Joe Average Programmer doesn't know how/why/whatever to make scroll bars work well, so he uses the defaults. BUT: YOU want to be able to design your OWN scroll bars. Well, GO AHEAD!!! Whats stopping you??? Just write your own scroll-bar-handling code into you program, and specify that the default scroll bar NOT show up in your window. The time will never come when an interface standard will include all the scroll bar types that anyone might like to include in their programs, not to mention all the other variable, so stop waiting...
