MINIX is a UNIX clone for PC class machines, written by a college instructor for operating system classes after AT&T mandated that UNIX source could not be used for education purposes. MINIX was designed to run on PC's with only floppy disks, and runs with the root file system in a 256K RAM disk. Patrick Wolfe (pwolfe@kai.com, uunet!kailand!pwolfe)
