Newsletter which may be of interest to people wanting a FORTRAN compiler for ibm pcs and compatibles. Lahey F77L 3.0 fortran compiler is now available. This is a complete implimentation of fortran 77 with some extensions. New features include: Math Coprocessor emulation. Borland and Microsoft C interfaces. C code may be linked directly into your fortran program. Fortran subroutines can be called from TurboC. To call subroutines from Microsoft C an F77L main must call the C main as if it were a subprogram. Support for Lattice C is continued in this version of the compiler. A library manager is included. Lahey's F77L-EM/32 80386 fortran which runs under AI architect's operating system and can address up to 4 Giga-Bytes of memory is now available as is the 80286 version EM/16. Anybody know anything about these? Is the operating system decent? There is also a new version of the personal fortran which sounds ok if you only write tiny programs Further information is available from: Lahey Computer Systems Inc. I rate their customer support to be very good and they fix bugs.
