When you assign a volume label to a drive, it is stored in the FAT with the hidden and volume-label bits turned on and with no clusters assigned to it. Chkdsk will then report this file as hidden with no bytes assigned to it. -- --- In real life: Mark E. Davidson uflorida!novavax!proxftl!markd Proximity Technologies, 3511 NE 22nd Ave, Ft.
