Anybody know of a good place to find a numerical algorithm-type description of the gamma function and the Bessel functions in the UNIX library? The CRC of course has a wonderful (and to me at this point quite unintelligible) description, but I strongly suspect that there's a good way and lots of really bad ways to compute them. Just so's I'll know, if anyone has written code to use these things, I'd like to hear why, and also how you felt on that day (like, were you being treated for some psychological disorder). -- Mike McNally of Lynx Real-Time Systems uucp: lynx!m5 (maybe pyramid!voder!lynx!m5 if lynx is unknown)
