The BSD ndbm database routines normally operate on disk files. I would like to use the same functionality, but have the database[s] be in the process virtual address space. It could be accomplished by a re-write of the routines, or by mapping the files into memory. Do any wizards out there have a suggestion on how to do this under a BSD-flavor Unix (SunOS, Ultrix, 4.[23], etc.)? --peter gross pag@hao.ucar.edu
