The error message was correct although not obvious. The directory is not empty. You most likely have hidden files in /lisp. DIR will not show you hidden files. I use a PD version of "ls" for DOS and the -a option to list "all" files, including hidden files. Once you know the name of your hidden files and remove them, you will be able to rmdir. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ James Danley II U of IL and US Army Corps of Engineers CERL UUCP: {ihnp4,seismo,pur-ee,uunet}!uiucuxc!osiris!danley ARPA: danley@osiris.cso.uiuc.edu USMail: Box 2640, Sta.
