I know of one public domain speller for a PC, which I use.  That one is
micro spell.  It is linked with micro emacs in such a way that allows you
to skim with emacs the checked file, and correct all misspelled words.
However, it does not give any suggestions for corrections.

Of course, there are spellers not on the public domain which suggest
corrections, but these cost money.

I got these two from our local public domain pool, but I suppose they should be
at SIMTEL20 too.
