I'm looking for subroutines in C or Fortran which do "contour
following", particularly in 3D.  By contour following, I mean given a
function f(x,y,z) and a value V, this routine should be able to
generate a curve through space along which it is true that V =
f(x,y,z).   I can use either find and follow or follow the contour
starting at this point routines.

Failing software, I could even use good references.  Please reply to
