Decuac has a few problems telling the difference between an internal SMTP/IP site and an internal MAIL-11/DECNET site. As a solution to this, I've fixed my news transport to pretend that everything comes from decwrl.dec.com, which is reachable on both IP and DECNET so it isn't a problem anymore. It took a while to figure out what was going on. Sorry for any inconvenience. # The solution: I mailed the whole thing to vixie.UUCP This is very interesting to read. You toss it out, off the cuff, casually, as though "vixie.UUCP" is something any decent MTA should know how to reach. I happen to agree with you. It's just that most of the Internet thinks we're both nuts. I'm changing my various .signature files to "vixie.uu.net", and soon I'll be "vixie.sf.ca.us". But it's nice to see "vixie.UUCP" tossed around as though it meant something. Maybe it will someday. -- Paul Vixie Digital Equipment Corporation Work: vixie@dec.com Play: paul@vixie.UUCP Western Research Laboratory uunet!decwrl!vixie uunet!vixie!paul Palo Alto, California, USA +1 415 853 6600 +1 415 864 7013
