Subject: X11 quite slower than X10 son SUN3-110C/60C ?

I have a fairly large appliction which I translated from X10 to X11
for displaying text, lines, images... on the screen.

On a BWhite SUN (3-160), X11 is quite the same (or better) than X10.
However when I run it on a SUN3(110C and 60C) with a cgfour display
my appliction runs about 3 times SLOWER than it used too with X10
, especially when displaying images, filling up rectangles, text,...
Note that this also happens when I am using the BW display (2 planes)
on a cgfour driver.

I know for a fact that our version of X11 was compiled with
the standard C compiler. I remember reading on the xpert bulletin
board that X11 performance could be improved drastically by compiling it
with another compiler.
Is this true, and if so could you send me a pointer where I can
dounload an optimized version of X11 binaries and libraries for SUN3s?

thanks
