Starting with the MIT distribution (as it appeared on the EUUG London
tape), I have most of the X11 clients, including xterm, running on our
HP9000/840. Xterm works very well, with one exception: The shell it
starts doesn't get any controlling terminal (i.e. cat >/dev/tty says
``/dev/tty: cannot create''). This is a bit annoying. Any ideas?

We are running HP-UX 1.20. The DEFINES in the Imakefile are set to
-DMODEMENU -DUTMP -DJOBCONTROL, and -DSYSV is also on.
