I have problems installing an AST 4-port card on an NCR PC 916
machine running Microport UNIX/386 release 3.0 2.2L
My UNIX/386 includes DOS/MERGE and an Everex tape driver.
It is a 2-user license.

My problem is, that I can get the UNIX to read characters from
the card, at least from the first port, but I cannot write
thru the board to the terminal.

I have installed the card as specified, in enhanced mode
and with IRQ 3 enabled. I have removed all other cards
which could use IRQ 3, including my second serial/parallel
port and my tape controller.

I have used ttypatch as specified in the manual with the options:

ttypatch -t01 -i3 -n4 -a416 -v447 -m0

The board is set to be the first address. I get the lines on
the tty interface up, pin 4,5,6,8 and 20 is high, when I open the
interface. I have tried both cu and opening it with cat -u.
When I address tty04 the system panics.

Can anybody help me please!
