Hi! I am trying to modify the printing process on our Mac so that I can
insert a password into files which are sent to the Laser-writer via the
Vax. Then, the password can be used for accounting purposes when the file
is laser-printed.

The problem is figuring out how to insert some code into the laser-writer
driver. Alternate schemes are to write a new driver which calls the normal
driver, or to write a spooler which grabs the output and prepends the
password.

While I do have Inside Macintosh and Inside the Laserwriter, I still
haven't figured out exactly how to do any of the above. One thing that
might help would be a sample driver that someone else had written
(preferably in C or Pascal) -- a vanilla driver. Or an example of how
to catch laser-writer output (as a spooler would). Or even some hints
and advice about where to look.

Many thanks,
