This will probably be done on a Sun system. My question is, what would be the fastest way of doing this? - Copy all of the files to a removable drive? - Dump to tape? - Which format (tar, dump, cpio, tpio)? - What kind of blocking factors? - Which tape drives and controllers are fastest? - Should we use an Exabyte(sp) drive? - Remote dump over Ethernet?(nah) Anyone have any thoughts on these questions?
