From the standpoint of the CUSTOMER, vaporware is indeed anything we have been told about (to pre-empt interest and of course -- the producer hopes -- commitments to something else) that we can't get, and can't even get a reliable date for. The media, given often special "preannouncement" info are in at least as damnable a postion on this as the rest of the bloody "industry."
