You probably have 18-pin 64k x 4 (=256k bit) chips, and need
16-pin 256k x 1 chips. I believe the 16-pin package is quite
standard for 256k x 1's in a standard dip package.

I have some chips removed from boards (or boards w/mounted chips) I would
like to dispose of at about half the upper end of the range you mention.
