Get Copy II Plus or some utility program which has a utility to check your drive speed. If you cannot boot it, you'llhave to take the drive to your dealer to have him adjust it. To adjust the drive speed you need to adjust the small screw on the underneath of your drive. Do this *while* you are running a speed check. The drive speed should be as near to 200 ms as possible. You will need to set the duodrive on it's end to do this--this will not cause any problems.
