Keywords: VMS5.0, RSX, TKB-11, MAC-11 Message-ID: <5992@chinet.UUCP> Date: 14 Jul 88 00:09:23 GMT Organization: Chinet - Chicago Public Access UNIX Lines: 21 We're in the position at my current contract site of having to maintain a large project that was developed for PDP-11 embedded systems. As time has passed, we've been forced to use RSX under VMS 4.5 to run native PDP MAC-11 and TKB-11 to produce the final product. Our big problem is that, between 4.5 and 4.6/4.7, Digital changed the format of the resultant object files from the MAC, thus breaking a lot of development tools. As a result, we're stuck at 4.5 until we resolve the changes. I understand this has bitten a lot of other people, too, from comments at the last DECUS get-together. Now, our question is--has anyone had any experience with this type of environment under VMS 5.0? Did they 'undo' the incompatibilities introduced as of 4.6? This is a fairly important issue to us. Anyone's experiences in this area would be greatly appreciated; please respond to me via E-mail. Thanks in advance, etc. Dave Ihnat Analysts International Corporation ...!riccb!ignatz || ...!homebru!ignatz
