Hello,

Is there any way to make a non-HSC tape drive available to an entire
cluster? We have a TU81+ tape drive on our VAX 8530, and we would like people
to be able to access the tape drives from the workstations we have LAVCed to
it. Our disk drives are served to the cluster using MSCP, and work perfectly.
The tape drive shows up on the 8530 as a clusterish device (i.e., a device name
of SBMS01$MUA0:, where SBMS01 is the node name of our 8530), but doesn't show
up on any of the other nodes at all. According to SHOW DEVICE/FULL, the tape
drive is "available to cluster", but I can't seem to get at it. This isn't a
major problem, since users can always SET HOST into the 8530 from the
workstations, but would prefer not to have to do that. I have been studying
the manuals, but I can't seem to find any mention of cluster-wide non-HSC
tape drives. What have I missed? Thanks in advance.
