I just set up a diskless Sun 3/60, and I am having a serious problem
with programs like talk and ftp. I can start them, but they fail when
they attempt to assign a TCP/IP socket (port?). My workstation is
practically a copy of another diskless node which has none of these
problems. I have checked things like the services and protocols
files, but everything seems to be in order.

Any help or hints would be greatly appreciated.
