I have been curious for some time about the network connect objects
for some of the VMS utilities like MONITOR CLUSTER, VAXSIM, and
PHONE DIR. These commands start up processes on the remote network
node, and pass back information via the network channel. What I
would like to do is to make use of the same objects that these
programs are calling, so I can do my own network parsing of this
info. Seems like it would be easier than writing a new TASK.
The objects are VPM= , PHONE=, and I forget the other. Is there
anyway I can find out what the protocol is that these programs use
to talk to their network partners? If there is a standard protocol
I would like to get it so I can make them work for me.
