I would like to use some of the extended memory in my IBM PC AT for a
print spooler. I have been using the AST spooler (from the ATvantage software)
but it has been freezing up unpredictably when I switch my AT from 6 MHz to
9 MHz. I use an Ariel speedup switch, and have no problems with VDISK or a
disk cache program running in extended memory.

My dealer has recommended "Lasertorq" from a small Bay Area company called
Laserworks or some such. Does anyone have experience with this product,
particularly in a high speed AT? Does it work? How good is the customer
support?

Are there any other spooler product, public domain or commercial, that work in extended memory?

On a related matter, has anyone connected a Postscript printer to a PC's serial
port and solved the problem of mixing Postscript and non-Postscript output to
the printer?
