[Copious apologies for asking what must be a common question in so many
newsgroups, but I don't know enough about the answer to narrow it down
any better...]

We have an AT&T 3B15 running System V release 2.1; across the street
there is a Vax running VMS. Where would one begin to look for the
hardware and software necessary to get the two to talk to one another?
Neither machine is currently on a LAN; their Vax is on BITNET and a
statewide DECNET, and our 3B15 does all of its meager networking by UUCP.

References either to published articles or to vendors would be
appreciated. Please reply *by mail only* to the address listed
*below*; I am posting this from a guest account and I'm sure no one
wants these newsgroups cluttered with followups.
