I just tried to apply perl patch29 on my AT&T UNIX-PC (3B1) and ld
complains that fchown, fchmod, setruid, seteuid, setrgid, and setegid are
undefined. The 3B1 runs a sort-of V.0 with some V.2 and a little V.3. Is
there some way to get around these undefined symbols and still apply
patch29?

I know that perl 2.0 is in the queue, but I hear rumors that it is broken
on 3B1's anyway. Besides, it hasn't yet appeared in comp.sources.unix and
I have no ftp.

Thanks.
