We receive compressed, batched news files at our site. Everything works
perfectly except that every once in a while we get the error message
inews: : Inbound news is garbled
This causes the execution of rnews that was started by uuxqt to take
forever (that is, if I don't kill it manually, it will run forever).
Last time that I had this problem, I examined the data file (in
/usr/spool/uucp/D. directory) that was having problems and couldn't
find anything wrong with it. Here's what I did: First I used dd to
skip the #! cunbatch line and then I uncompressed it and looked at
it in vi.

Any ideas what the problem is and how to fix it?
