I think anyone buying a Mega ougth to insist that the dealer run his
diagnostics kit in your presence, it individually checks all the chips
and reports problems.  The first one I got lost its mouse only on a certain
menu of the Hybrid Arts SMTPE track, and it turned out to be a bad
keyboard chip.   Seems like a lot of bugs like that are occuring.

Also make sure about the media change problem, I had the dealer change
disks to a 314, which are not the Chinons.  Now it works ok.

In light of all the recent reports, this should be done.
