I would like to get a serial card so that I can print from my IIe to an early
model of Apple Imagewriter (one which connects directly to a IIc). I would also
like to drive a Hayes modem with that card. After some investigation it seems
that the Serial Grappler from Orange Micro has the best price and performance.
However, the tech. support person from Orange Micro told me that Serial Grappler
only works with Imagewriter II.

Can someone educate me as to the difference between Imagewriter and Imagewriter
II?

What could be the problem? Shouldn't all serial cards be able to perform the
same basic function of driving a serial printer and a modem?

Would the Apple Super Serial Card work? If the Apple SSC works, and the Serial
Grappler is compatible with the SSC, then shouldn't the Serial Grappler also
work?

I'm confused. I'll appreciate any informative comments. Thanks.
