 THE BEAGLE!!!!

     my thoughts, exactly.

     Look at the past names:

          Enterprise (the never-was shuttle)
          Columbia
          Challenger
          Discovery
          Atlantis

What we have here is a rather "snooty" sounding bunch of names. The
BEAGLE, while undeniably appropriate, might bring the shuttle program a
little more (pardon the term) down to Earth. Grandeur wears thin after a
while, especially when it blows up.

    Another useful thing:

            A tlantis
            B eagle
            C olumbia
            D iscovery

(& E nterprise, if you must)

Seems logical to me (of course that means there can't be a Calypso until
Columbia is, um, retired).

                                   -John.
