Interesting experience to say the least. Here are some comments and questions. 1. It is on an 'installit' disk along with the documentation. Install it and you wipe out your old uucp. Be warned. 2. The documentation is AT&T circa 1984. If you guess you can use a hayes modem instead of an 801 autodailer you are right but don't expect the documentation to tell you that. 3. It almost works. Here are the features: uulog looks in the wrong place. It appears that uulog is for the old uucp as it looks in the old log files not the distributed logs. The sequence numbers in the sequence files (/usr/spool/uucp/.Sequence/_sysname_) are in hex but whenever there is an a,b,c,d,e or f in the sequence number uux pukes with an error -11. I have never used HDB uucp before so if I missed something (or you know of a fix for either of these features) please let me know. It does transfer files and produces wonderful statistics. In case you don't know this, it is available to V/AT users for $15. Phil Hughes, SSC, Inc. P.O.
