This has caused me to beleive that in general, modems with built in error correction are not as reliable in unprotected data transfers. I have a ventel 2400 halfcard, which has no error checking, and most of the time, when I notice that a modem has error correction, it is a USR HST, but not always. This could be a brand defect, but I doubt it. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Wim Bonner Bitnet:27313853@WSUVM1 Compuserve:72561,3135 (King-Rat) The Loft is not running during the summer.
