For those awaiting the new Digiview software and have prepaid, you should
be getting yours any day now; I got mine yesterday. The new version
supports vertical and horizontal overscan in all resolutions (yea!, also,
hmm, got a hard disk read/write error in 704 X 480 X 16 mode, haven't seen
one of those since getting the new 2090 driver, click retry, it works, hmm)
a "line art" mode for digitizing high-contrast monochrome stuff like logos and
such (sort of like Kodalith), and appears to fix the problems where if
Digiview picked a dark color for the wrong color register, one couldn't read
its menus. It may do other stuff. I didn't see anything else that's new
in the manual.

By the way, Digi-Droid is a lot of fun. I think most hacks like to see
their computer drive mechanical things, so why not the color wheel for
$80? The only problem is that the servomotor they used can only do about
270 degrees, so you can't select the clear filter; indeed, one must move
the filter away from the front of the lens to digitize monochrome, a good
idea anyway 'cuz why have this optically relatively stinking piece of clear
plastic between your artwork and your camera anyway? :-)
