Message-ID: <269@hodge.UUCP> Date: 6 Jul 88 09:17:11 GMT Sender: rusty@hodge.UUCP Organization: People-Net [pnet06], Orange, CA Lines: 18 Just got hold of an INIT, written by Scott Armitage, that allows 512KE owners (like me) to utilize System 6.0's Sound cdev for beep sounds. As we all know now, the Sound cdev writes info into the extra bytes of PRAM that a Mac+ has, but a 512KE doesn't. I would imagine that serial port info gets overwritten instead on a 512KE, causing the problems that several people here experienced. This INIT is a patch that appends the info to the System file instead of writing it into PRAM. If there is interest, I will post it as a binhex file. Disclaimer: He said it could be freely distributed.....
