     I have a 512e with a Dove 2M upgrade and SCSI port.  As far as I
can tell , System 6.0 works fine except for the Sound and Map CDEVs.
Using the extended PRAM INIT (I was about to write one myself), Sound
CDEV works fine.  The  Map CDEV took a little digging, but after a little
trial and error, I found that setting the 'extended PRAM valid' bit in
ththe hardware config flags enabled Map as well.  I wrote a trivial INIT
to do the setting on startup.  It may not be an official solution, but
it's worked fine for me and I'll stick with system 6.0, thank You
