I was only able to test the 8003E version of the board.  If you successfully
pinged the Starlan version, then it basically runs and the problem could
be a bug in the driver or a port, interrupt or software driver conflict
in the machine.

It might be worth stripping the machine to vanilla and trying again.
We don't have any Starlan to do further tests - source will be posted
later this week.
