There seems to be a problem with the dumper program on the Mac. At boot time the dumper icon appears in the lower left corner and then the message: Dumper MPP driver not found appears in large letters at the bottom of the screen. The message goes away and the Mac continues booting as usual. Can anyone explain to me what is going on and what I may be doing wrong? I would have sent this directly to Dan but I can't find his email address. (Dan are you out there?) Along with the new 6.0 system, came the Appleshare client code as has been noted previously in this newsgroup. I was able to log on to the server and get the remote volumes to show up on the desktop but I was unable to write to any of the remote volumes. The permissions seemed to be set for write access but any writes to the remote volume failed. What am I doing wrong? Here is what the volume looks like on the UNIX side: total 8 drwxr-xr-x 5 wright compserv 512 Jul 12 18:24 ./ drwxr-xr-x 20 wright compserv 1024 Jul 12 18:09 ../ -rw-r--r-- 1 wright compserv 0 Jul 12 17:41 .ADeskTop -rw-rw-r-- 1 wright compserv 2520 Jul 12 17:41 .IDeskTop drwxr-xr-x 2 wright compserv 512 Jul 12 18:24 .finderinfo/ drwxr-xr-x 2 wright compserv 512 Jul 12 18:23 .resource/ drwxr-xr-x 4 wright compserv 512 Jul 12 18:25 Empty Folder/ As you can see, I was able to create an empty folder. Any help with either of these two problems would be appreciated. -- Gary Wright {uunet, ihnp4}!hsi!wright Health Systems International New Haven, CT 06511
