Another good way of stripping a System for a Plus is to use the dreaded Installer [ :-) ] to install the System to a disk that DOES NOT already have one. That is, first delete the System, Finder, etc. from your target disk, then boot with the new System and run Installer. I found that this reduced the size of my Plus System from 330k to 280k (or numbers in that area). The 330k is the standard, unstripped size of the System, so even if the numbers are wrong, you get the idea.
