Lines: 17 I have to agree with Bob one point one. I think I'm well connected, but my site is here in the Northeastern end of the backbone and not near NNTP. Today, even reading news frequently, it comes in with batches that already have long conversations in them (Usually involving Matthew "Whiner") which should have been done via mail. It's annoying. As for mail routing, I think it's bad that almost every moderatedly connected site has to keep around a huge database. I think this endless duplication is what is bound to cause mail unreliability. Of course it's more expensive to have a smaller number of maintained paths, but it would be better. UUNET would get rich as a probable top level site, but someday people may just not bother to send mail to anybody who isn't reliably connected. -- Brad Templeton, Looking Glass Software Ltd. -- Waterloo, Ontario 519/884-7473
