    If you are running X on the Sun your solution is easy.

    If X crashes and your keyboard is locked just do a

            kbd_mode -a 

    from another terminal logged into the machine that crashed.

    The command "kbd_mode" is part of the X11 release.

    There is doc on it also.

    If you are not running on a Sun, I can't help you.
