OK, so I'm too cheap to take it into a service center....

On occasion, my SE's floppy drive comes out with an extremely 
annoying, extremely high-pitched whine while reading a disk.
There is no logic to it; an old disk caused the whine, as well
as did one fresh from the package.  I would guess at a disk
problem of some sort, thought I've never had this happen before.

Anyone out there in netland have any guidance for me?
