Greetings. I carelessly discarded the message asking about the lisp
manual, so:

To whom it may concern, ;-)

The following text appears in the file emacs/etc/MAILINGLISTS:
The list, gnu-manual@a.cs.uiuc.edu, is a working group whose
volunteers write, proofread and comment on the developing GNU Emacs
     Lisp programmers' manual.
This little gem is almost as tantalizing as Stallman's reference to it
in the Gnu Emacs Manual. But there's a little more substance to this one,
because the manual does exist. The last time I saw a copy of it (which was
in March) it was still in a rough state but already huge (and incredibly
informative and useful). I don't know if anyone knows anything about
when it will be released generally, and they might not tell anyone if they
did. In any case, I seem to remember that it was something over 350 pages.
Probably about 80% of the available functions were documented, although
some of them needed some elaboration. The indexing needed some work, and
the node structure for info was not complete. All in all, though, it was
really very good, and I can't wait to see the finished version.
