Have you looked at Kermit-65?  It can have some problems with character
loss on an unenhanced //e, but not if the other end supports X-on/X-off.

Nice things about Kermit-65
     Kermit transfer protocol (supported by most mainframes)
     Good enough (usually) VT-100 emulation (VT-52 also)
     Supports the II+ (!!!)  Even a 48K II+ *amazing*
     Works in DOS 3.3 **AND** ProDOS (not at the same time, of course :-)
     The price is right -Columbia has the copyright:
                         NO FEE for students, non-profit organizations
                         Modest (piddling) fee ($100 I think) for commercial
                                enterprises
