Malone) Organization: Navy Personnel R&D Center, San Diego Lines: 26 I am having some problems with a dBASE III applications that was previously running without problem. Now I have two: 1. When using edit to add data to a new record, the system hangs after executing some editing commands (exp: "if updated replace cde with 'X'"). The only way out is to reboot the system. Three dbf files are open at the time. 2. When printing reports only a small percentage of the expected reports are printed. If I restart printing again, omitting the records previously printed, several more records are printed and the system returns to the dBASE III "." prompt as if it has read an eof. I suspect I may have a corrupted database file but cannot locate the corrupted record. Does anyone have any other ideas? I have been told that there is an excellent book on handling corrupted dBASE III database files. Can someone give me a handle on the author, publisher, title, etc.? ... John malone@nprdc.arpa ...
