I think the new ROMs fix some other things too, but I'm not Tech Note 139 describes the various versions of the Mac Plus ROMs. The first version had the bug where if a SCSI drive was off the machine would not boot. (Only 1-1/2 months of these ROMs were produced.) The second version fixed the boot problem. The third version fixed a bug for drives that return Unit Attention on power up or reset. This version shipped with the Platinum colored Mac Pluses. Nothing else except the boot code was changed in these ROMs. The Tech Note also gives the checksum to distinguish the ROMs, and says that they all have the same part number.
