We have installed Wollongong's TCP/IP on our VAXcluster (8700, 8600,
785) and on MicroVAX II's. I have not heard that it has to be
installed last; that's kind of rediculous.

There are a couple of things though, that you should know (if you are
not already aware of them). First, the SYSGEN parameter INTSTK (or
something like that) must be increased (to two I think). If you don't,
your machine will crash. Also, if you are running DECnet, and your
TCP/IP will be using its own Ethernet device, you must change all the
SYSGEN AUTOCONFIGURE commands to exclude the Ethernet device you want
to use for TCP/IP. Otherwise, DECnet will find both/all of them and
use them. The AUTOCONFIGURE commands are in SYSTARTUP.COM or
STARTUP.COM (I'm not sure) and in SYCONFIG.COM.

There may be other things too; I'm not the local expert but I've
helped out with installations.

Hope this helps.
