In VMS version 5.0 (out Real Soon Now) there is a qualifier on the RECALL
command (RECALL/ERASE) that empties out the recall buffer. It was added as
a feature in part to satisfy security minded sites who didn't want someone
waltzing up to a terminal, recalling the buffer, and seeing copies of the
password in DECnet paths, etc, etc etc.
