We could avoid all this arguing about whether calls to NBS are routed by
satellite or terrestrial links if people would actually TRY it instead
of engaging in armchair pontificating.  It's quite easy; remember that
the NBS output indicates how much it advances the on-second marker when
you echo the marker back.

I've used the NBS software a half dozen times now from northern NJ via
AT&T, and I get pretty consistent propagation delays of 57-58 ms at 1200
baud.  I haven't gotten a satellite path yet.
