Now I can hear my *quiet* > Jasmine....Does the Mac automatically shut off if the fan dies or if the > chassis overheats? According to my APDA manual on the MacII innards, the machine has a temperature sensor that will shut off the machine if it gets too hot. I've yet to test this directly... I put a fan from Fry's electronics into mine & halved the amount of noise my MacII makes. Still, however, it's too noisy for me. Next thing to try is to reconnect the fan's power from the +12V to the +5V line (those red wires attached to the motherboard). Has anyone out there done this? With just a video board in the box, will this give me enough circulation? Peter -- Peter "Arrgh" Korn korn@ucbvax.Berkeley.EDU {decvax, dual, hplabs, sdcsvax, ulysses}!ucbvax!korn
