I often do this too, and I find that the condition is the important
part. I.e. if C used "if" and "fi", I'd still do it, because "fi" is
trivial information, while "glarch!=snafu" is useful.

Matching begin-block with end-block is relatively easy regardless of
language (well, ok, in Lisp it can get hairy...)
