I am trying to write a graphics application on an ibm-pc/at using an
Orchid Technology VGA card. It is register compatible with ibm's vga
and that does not seem to be a problem. What is giving me fits is that
the software package I am porting uses both a monochrome monitor (with
a monochrome card) and the color monitor with the vga card. The monochrome
monitor is the primary monitor.

What I cannot do is initialize the vga card from the program. If i use the
mode command from dos, there is no problem, but I have had no luck in the
program itself. It doesn't help that ibm provides no reasonable documen-
tation. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks,
