Below is another copy of the article I posted on May 30, 1988 describing how to obtain these diffs from listserv@ndsuvm1.bitnet. Please hold on to it this time! One additional note I'd like to make: the last I heard, this listserv restricted requests to 256KB per day. I requested that it be raised but have not heard if it has been. If it hasn't, you'll just have to spread your requests out over several days. This applys to EVERYTHING on the listserv. ========================================================================= *Date: Mon, 30 May 88 00:58:10 CDT *Reply-To: INFO-MINIX@UDEL.EDU *Sender: Minix operating system*From: Glen Overby *Subject: Minix 1.3 upgrade files available on Bitnet I have made all of the first set of 1.3 upgrade files available to users on Bitnet in a form which is probably "cleaner" than that they will recieve thru their (brain-dammaged 80 column punched-card) mailers. All 10 parts are NOW available from LISTSERV@NDSUVM1 under the MINIX files section with the names 'MINIX UP3-Axx' where xx is 1 thru 10. The "A" stands for the first distribution of 1.3 upgrades (there were 2 sets of "1.2" upgrade files, and it wasa never clear to me exactly which of them were "it", so I used both of them). A "package" named "MINUP3 PACKAGE" should be available Real Soon Now (as soon as I creat and PUT it) to aid those of you who wish to retrieve all of the files in one GET. For information about using this file server, send a file (mail or raw bitnet) to LISTSERV@NDSUVM1 with the one-line text "GET MINIX ANNOUNCE MINIX" and it will send you the Minix Information Sheet. More assistance is available from LISTSERV itself with the "HELP" command. ***Please DO NOT send these requests to MINIX-L@NDSUVM1*** that will have the embarassing effect of showing the entire Minix world that you can't follow directions. My appology for not being as slow getting this out as I usually am :-) Glen Overby -- Glen Overby Bitnet: ncoverby@ndsuvax UUCP: uunet!ndsuvax!ncoverby
