It is based on the program "claz" which converted from IFF -> Postscript. I am not willing to post it yet, the reason being that it requires a lot more work to make it into production quality. I am willing to send it via e-mail to anyone who is interested, especially to someone who is willing to put in some work. I am also willing to post it as is if there is a strong demand. Currently, the program can convert any IFF/ILBM file to Sun raster file. It will either create a Sun color raster file (that's easy), or it will convert to a monochrome Sun raster file. Variants of the same program will create grey scale dittering using one color pixel to 4 monochrome pixel, or to 6 monochrome pixel. The result is remarkably good. There is considerable work left to make it more robust about IFF file handling (problem was with the "claz" code), and to put in command line options to handle the different output options so the different variants can be merged into a single version. I will probably not be working on that for a while yet, and, again, be quite willing to let someone else take a crack at it. Please send me e-mail message if you are interested in getting a copy, in getting it posted as-is, or in working on it. -- Godfrey Lee P.O.
