Of course, since it's in the kernel, bugs in NFS client or server code (typically induced by various malformed "poison packets") will crash or wedge your server. I have heard that NFS implementations for "different" operating systems (such as the one written in LISP for Symbolics Lisp Machines) don't work very well, either. - Bill
