Message-ID: <2093@sugar.UUCP> Date: 6 Jun 88 05:13:54 GMT Organization: Sugar Land UNIX - Houston, TX Lines: 12 SERPER contains the baud-rate divider bits. According to the Hardware Reference Manual, if you consider the value to be N, then N+1 279.4 ns hardware clocks occur between samples of the state of the input pin. I understand the MIDI baud rate to be 31250. By this, I calculate that there are about 114.5 279.4 ns periods per bit transmitted, yielding a SERPER value of 113 or 114. They both seem to work. Which is best or is there a different, better value? -- -- I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy. -- ..!{bellcore!tness1,uunet!nuchat}!sugar!karl, Unix BBS (713) 438-5018
