At some point I noted that when running emacs on my sun, the "Left" key acted as a Meta key (as on a Symbolics) so that it was a modifier key (like control or shift). This is great! However, this is NOT the case when I rlogin to one of the VAX hosts and use Emacs there. The "left" key has no apparent effect at all. How is the action of these keys set? Is it somewhere in termcap? Is it something specific to Gnu Emacs only? The version of Emacs for the Sun is:18.33.5 The version of Emacs for the Vax is:18.33.10 Thanks, Scott Presnell +1 415 476 5326 Copmuter Graphics Laboratory; MacroMolecular Workbench Project, S-926 Univ. of Calif. at San Francisco (UCSF), San Francisco, CA. 94143 Internet: srp@cgl.ucsf.edu UUCP: ucbvax!ucsfcgl!srp Bitnet: srp@ucsfcgl.bitnet -- Scott Presnell +1 415 476 5326 Copmuter Graphics Laboratory; MacroMolecular Workbench Project, S-926 Univ. of Calif. at San Francisco (UCSF), San Francisco, CA. 94143 Internet: srp@cgl.ucsf.edu UUCP: ucbvax!ucsfcgl!srp Bitnet: srp@ucsfcgl.bitnet
