I compiled and installed some of the programs in William Tuthill's
"hum" concordance program package. I am pleased with the results.

I just wanted to point out that I feel some of the program
modules (like freq.c - a word frequency program) are concisely written,
and provide good examples of efficient usage of pointers, pipes and recursion.

Anyone contemplating writing text or lexical analysis programs
would be well advised to examine these programs for helpful hints. At
least *I* know that *I* have learned some new and useful programming tricks
after playing with these programs.
