Message-ID: <56@orion.UUCP> Date: Wed, 15-Jul-87 17:37:07 EDT Article-I.D.: orion.56 Posted: Wed Jul 15 17:37:07 1987 Date-Received: Sat, 18-Jul-87 09:08:37 EDT Organization: TRW Digital Development Laboratory, Manhattan Beach, CA Lines: 23 [] I have an AST Premium 286 with a 1.2Mb floppy (A:), a 360K floppy (B:), and a 70Mb hard drive (C:, D:, and E:). I also have a ramdisk set up as F:. The disk controller is stock as it came from AST. It supposedly will support 5 devices. I wish to add an Archive brand streaming tape backup unit which I own. The AST controller is able to handle this tape unit on other AST's which have just one floppy. My problem is that I want to retain my 360K floppy and add the tape unit also, but I can't seem to get both units installed and working in the same configuration. I would like to hear from anyone with an AST with 4 or more "devices" (tape, floppy, hard disk) successfully installed, or from anyone on why such a thing can't be done. Thanks.
