Throw away version 1.3. Version 1.4 will make you very happy. Note: If you have an SE, GET version 1.4, boot from the floppy, then click the "Update" button to update your SCSI drivers. No data that hasn't already been lost will be damaged, and the upgrade takes between 3 and 5 seconds to run. I have no idea if Mac+ users should need the version 1.4.............bc (DISCLAIM: I happen to be working for Apple, and this happens to be the Official Truth. Share and Enjoy.)
