Hello fellow netlanders, I have a friend working on her thesis with TeX / LaTeX, and she has to place her page numbers 1/2 inch down from the top of the page, and 1/2 inch in from the right side of the page. (except for pages at the beginning of a chapter where she has to place them at the top center.) The problem is that her right margin is 1 or 1.5 inches in... and the page numbers seem to align themselves with the right text margin. (she is using the book documentstyle) I usually field the TeX questions around the office, but I was unable to help her this time, so I thought I would turn to the net for help... I thought about editing a style file... but I wasn't sure where to start, perhaps someone has a better solution. I almost always use LaTeX, not pure TeX, so feel free to elaborate on any points without fear of insulting my intelligence, I would be grateful for any assistance. Perhaps while you're at it, you know the INTERNET address to the TeXHacks at Stanford I've heard about in passing, I thought I might drop them a note from my internet site...
