I say, enough whining, and not from the SE either. 

I have access to an SE, and it's the quietest thing in the office.
Each PC/XT has a distinctive fan sound, ranging from a mildly annoying
hum to something that sounds as if it would feel more at home at
O'Hare airport, on the runway. The PC/AT in the shop is noticeably
louder than the SE. Admittedly, the SE is louder than the two Mac
Pluses; but Apple is playing with the big boys now, and from the looks
of it stands to do not so badly. Fans are a fact of life. Maybe SE
fans do have the range of the XT's I mentioned, but judging by the one
I'm typing this on, believe me, you _will_ get used to it.

Now if only I could get used to the keyboard ...   :-)
