Hayward, CA Lines: 37 Xref: mnetor comp.sys.intel:297 comp.windows.x:1038 I'm working with a systems integrator to distribute '386 systems running UNIX, and are wondering what software is available (or about to become available) under X in the following categories: o CAD/CAM o Desktop Publishing o Office Automation o Engineering Applications o Database/Spreadsheet/etc. o User Friendly Shells o System Administration Tools Since most of the applications designers/implementors are probably net subscribers, I figured this would be the place to get first-hand information. Am also looking for ethernet software under the 386. Also wondering what flavors of UNIX you are running out there, with what level of success, and whose X ports, also with recommendations, flames, etc. To what extent are you working with MicroSoft windows, and what marketing plans do you have for your software under OS/2 & Windows. What impact do you think Windows/OS/2 will have upon the 386/UNIX marketplace? Thanks a lot in advance!
