Message-ID:Date: Tue, 7-Jul-87 20:33:00 EDT Article-I.D.: SIMTEL20.KPETERSEN.12316579728.BABYL Posted: Tue Jul 7 20:33:00 1987 Date-Received: Fri, 10-Jul-87 04:13:17 EDT Sender: daemon@ucbvax.BERKELEY.EDU Distribution: world Organization: The ARPA Internet Lines: 13 I have two of the USRobotics HST 9600 modems and use them regularly for large file transfers using XMODEM protocol (1k blocks, ala YMODEM). I don't know much about tcp/ip but if the transactions are mostly in one direction (i.e., the receiver sends ACK/NAK's) this modem should work great for you. It automatically gives the 9600 baud to the direction that has the most data to send. If that changes, it reverses (transparently). --Keith Petersen Arpa: W8SDZ@SIMTEL20.ARPA Uucp: {bellcore,decwrl,harvard,lll-crg,ucbvax,uw-beaver}!simtel20.arpa!w8sdz GEnie: W8SDZ RCP/M Royal Oak: 313-759-6569 - 300, 1200, 2400 (V.22bis) or 9600 (USR HST)
