Summary: Why asm(). Why not #pragma asm?

Or for those of us with broken compilers with CPP part of CC, #asm? I have

#pragma asm PDP-11
	mov	(IP)+,WP	; anybody recognise this
	jmp	@(WP)+ ; piece of code?
#pragma C
