AMIGA-2000 seems well suited to be the heart of a control or data
acquisition system (multi-tasking OS, interactive graphic,
bi-processor system at least with the PC,...).
Connecting the AMIGA to the V.M.E. bus would not only allow the
AMIGA to access the outside world (ADC, TDC, DAC, relay control,...)
but also increase drastically the power of the system through all
the already existing V.M.E. boards (processors, memories, hard disks
magnetic tape and CD-ROM controllers, GPIB, CAMAC, FASTBUS controllers)

1) Has anybody already heard about such a system (AMIGA-VME) ?

If not,

2) Is there enough interest to try to organize ourselves to
make a joint effort to design it?

  What do you think ?????
