  The users login shell and users shell are the same shell.  All you need to
do is to remember to export the enviroment variable, e.g.:
---from a sample /etc/profile:-----------
/bin/echo "Enter terminal type: \c"
read TERM
export TERM
-----------------------------------------
simple, huh?
