Dennis,

I was told by one of our DDN planners just a few days ago that Arpanet
was most definitely not considered to be part of the DDN.  I pointed that 
most of the DDN transition charts I've seen show many nets, including
Arpanet, merging into an internet called DDN.  He assured me, however, 
that when all is done, Arpanet will not be part of DDN.  I remain
puzzled.  

Now I guess the next question is- is Arpanet really an experimental network
for network research or an operational network for use by researchers?
