Craig,

Without addressing your comment that "TCP/IP is in fact a Bad Idea," I
might conclude from your remarks that public X.25 networks may have
to either surcharge or prohibit use of connectionless protocols over
virtual circuits. This is an interesting issue which should be raised
within the ANSI X3S3.3 committee. I also conclude from your remarks that
the public X.25 community has come up with "a scheme that doesn't hammer
the network to its knees when something goes wrong." Please, I desperately
need to know what scheme you have in mind.
