The quote (from my copy of Facc) is: "This disk is not copy protected. ASDG has served the Amiga community well (remember the ASDG Recoverable Ram Disk); please don't pirate our software." > With that line and the fact that there are free updates for facc, I > will buy it, not ask one of my friends to copy it. I am an even poorer college kid, who is (seriously) wondering how I am going to eat for the remainder of the month, and I sent in my $$$ for Facc as well. Good product + support + low price = customer on my part. I can't say that I've never illegally copied software, but this is one piece of software I *do* feel loyal about and will not allow others to copy. As a BBS sysop, I know that the sysops (well, the Fidonet ones at least) in the Pittsburgh area are very conscious about pirate software appearing on their boards and squelch it as soon as it appears. If someone were distributing copyrighted software without permission on a BBS, any responsible sysop would remove it as soon as he realized it was illegal. Otherwise, they deserve whatever criminal prosecution they get. -- Mike Portuesi / Carnegie-Mellon University Computer Science Department ARPA: mjp@spice.cs.cmu.edu UUCP: {backbone-site}!spice.cs.cmu.edu!mjp BITNET: rainwalker@drycas (a uVax-1 run by CMU Computer Club...tons o' fun) "Paradise is exactly like where you are right now...only much, much better" --Laurie Anderson, "Lanugage is a Virus"
