Hello,
Does anyone out there have experience with Digi-Data's Gigastore
tape system. This system emulates a tape drive; the actual media
is a T-120 VHS tape cassette. The system is not overly speedy (according
to its specs) but a single cassette will hold 2.5 Gbytes with a very
low error rate. We are planning to acquire a system for backup of our
LAVC's file system (soon to be 4 RA81's). The beauty is that the
entire file system save should fit on a single cassette, allowing us
to do unattended full volume saves - which means that the performance
is not such much an issue any more (lots of CPU time at night!).

Does anyone out there have experience with one of these systems?
If so, please drop me a message on your experiences - good or bad.

					Thanks, FJN
