I would be most grateful if someone could email me any information on how they work, (i.e. where the FAT's live, what is the structure of directories, what does a directory entry look like, how are subdirectories handled etc. etc. etc. etc. Work on the assumption that I know what tracks, sectors, heads, etc. are, but have absolutely NO knowledge of what stuff MS-DOS itself is writing on the disk in the way of file structure. (I just know about FAT's because I heard someone mention them, I'm not sure what they are, but they seem to be important.
