As you might surmise, our situation is that we have QUIC and Postscript printers, .cat and .dvi files, and Tex. Our Troff generates .cat files. Our Tex has a dvi2ps. So we need to go either TROFF => .cat => .dvi => .ps or TROFF => TEX => .dvi => .ps It also doesn't seem necessary to download the Postscript glyphs when they are already in the printer.
