I would note that this is roughly akin to what the Jasmine
folks claimed.  They said that their drive does not now work
on the Mac II because "Apple changed things at the list minute",
referring to the SCSI manager.

They specificially recommended using HD Setup 1.1, that was a 
known way to get their drive to work.  They are hard at work
on getting drivers that will run on all machines, and estimate
about 45 days.
