Here's the scenario: (On machine A, VMS) $ set host B (On machine B, VMS) $ telnet C ! Excelan's telnet (Machine C runs Unix) At this point I have problems. If my DECnet connection is local (Ethernet), and I cat out a long file on machine C, the terminal hangs and output characters get dropped. If my DECnet connection is via X.25 to Europe, I can't even log in to machine C! It takes over a minute to get a login prompt from the Unix machine. When I finally do, character echo times are about 20 seconds, characters are echoed in the wrong order, and the login times out before I can do anything. I am sure that the DECnet connection is not the problem. Has anyone seen anything like this?? (Excelan customer support is worthless). Ken Bourque ...!seismo!philabs!klb -or- klb@philabs.philips.com
