After being BLASTED by a number of people, I did some checking, and Lo and Behold, I was incorrect. Apparently in the last update release for my Xenix system, Microsoft (or Tandy) got around to fixing this. The system does, indeed, re-use directory slots. It didn't used to, honest! I keep forgetting that even though for the most part, Xenix is a complete UNIX (in this case, SYS III with a few BSD goodies) port, it is **NOT** UNIX, and problems that I am encountering with XENIX (the several versions I have suffered through) do not necessarily distribute over the UNIX set. My apologies for my strident tone, and my quick temper. -- Tom Keller The essential point that so-called "Libertarians" miss in their rabid naivete` is a very sad but true observation: there *ARE* no solutions.
