The dmf hardware supports a optional "auto xon/xoff" mode (which is NOT used in 4.3). Unless the 5620 runs in "lan encoding" mode, it would hang with this as the 8 bit data sent would trigger the "auto xoff" if the dhu boards has a similar mode and it was NOT turned off. (The layers software on 4.3 runs in raw mode for the packet driver). The other way it happens if the connection from the 5620 to the machine is through a "LAN network" (like UB Net One) which add "in-band" flow control to support end-to-end flow control on the network.
