I need help!. I have an Atari 1040 with a 20 Meg Hard Disk from Atari (SH204)
which, after 6 months of never giving me trouble, decided to stop working. The
crash happenend on a normal booting procedure ( I still boot from the floppy
that came with Atari Hard disk). The computer booted into low resolution and
did not show the 4 5Mb logical partitions I had. After several attempts to
reboot the machine I realized that I had lost all of my recently developed
software (i.e. a Midi sequencer with real-time capture plus several
songs I had played), and that the only thing I had to do was to reformat the
hard disk and so forth. The problem is that I can not run the Atari format
program or for that matter anything else while the hard disk is on. I tried
booting the system from a floppy with a booting sector so that I could have the
hard disk on and thus run the Atari format program, but as soon as I try to
reformat, or re-partition the hard disk, I get a TOS error #35 and from then on
the system is useless since I can't read the floppy disk either.

If anyone out there has some info as to what I can do to get the hard disk back
on running, I will very much appreciate it.
