It has nothing to do with files, except that if you haven't written out your files it will ask whether it should do so, which I think of as a safety net, not part of the defined function. It doesn't confuse me (in a typical day I use four different operating systems (Mac, Symbolics, Unix, and Multics), and have no trouble switching) but I remember my parents being confused when I was teaching them to use the Mac. --- Barry Margolin Thinking Machines Corp. barmar@think.com seismo!think!barmar
