I've been using a Mitac 2400BD modem (that IS the model number, as far
as I can tell) for a few days, and have had no troubles with it.
$199 from 1st Street computers in Santa Clara.  That is for an EXTERNAL
2400 baud (and 1200 and 300, too) modem, which I "had" to get, as I don't
have an IBM-compatible, so internal modems do me no good.

Then again, I've only had it for under a week... if any problems DO come
up, I will post about them!  :-)
