Hello --

I am the owner of a non-Macintosh computer, who wishes to manipulate
pictures in the MacPaint format. I have found out that on the Mac, there
is a toolbox routine that expands the data file into the actual bit-map;
that is, it decompresses the data. What I need to know is how this data
is stored in the file originally, or what the decompression technique is.

Please respond to me via e-mail if you can, as I don't read this conference
on a regular basis. Thanks for any help you can give.

P.S. Sorry if this is posted twice -- I'm not sure if the first article
was canceled or not.
