Normally I don't read this group, so please send an email reply in addition to
posting (if you feel the answer's worth posting).  I do repair work for Bradley
University, and occasionally I work on Macs.  Recently, we had the mouse on a
512 Mac (not enhanced) burn up one of the infra-red photodiodes in it.  When we
called the local dealer for a replacement diode, they said, "No way bud, you
have to send the whole thing back."  That's about $60.00 for a photodiode.
To compound the problem, there weren't any identification numbers on the part.
Anybody know where to get one of these little buggers ?  Remember, email
