Because AmigaTeX comes with a great previewer that runs on the Amiga.
Most people that communicate with a VAX use dumb 80x24 character terminals,
which make it difficult to do any real previewing on.

AmigaTeX is also faster than TeX on a VAX 780 with a few other users on it.
