in article <3930@spool.WISC.EDU>, derek@speedy.WISC.EDU (Derek Zahn) says:

-- Ooh, even better; now that we have an Amiga with expansion slots, how about
-- providing a "copy protection board" -- it has to be plugged into a slot in
-- order for the program to work. Copying a PC board is even more trouble
-- than copying a manual. Yeah, that's it...

Its been done. Two ( was it really only two ) jobs ago the palce I worked
used a circuit desing package that ran on an XT. The package used its own
graphics card. If I remember correctly the software was very inexpensive,
but the boards cost around $3000. Our engineer guessed it had a build cost
of under $100.
