Message-ID: <3001@blia.BLI.COM> Date: Mon, 27-Jul-87 19:35:12 EDT Article-I.D.: blia.3001 Posted: Mon Jul 27 19:35:12 1987 Date-Received: Wed, 29-Jul-87 03:28:43 EDT Organization: Britton Lee, Berkeley, CA Lines: 15 I am puzzled why VMS, a virtual memory operating system, imposes limits on the number of command lines that DCL remembers and on the length of the command prompt. I am a VMS systems programmer by choice but every now and then using Unix reminds me that some aspects of VMS don't seem well thought out from the user interface point of view.
