                          SEMINAR ANNOUNCEMENT

                  Computational Research Branch Seminar

SPEAKER: Jeff Kulick
	 MIT Media Lab

TOPIC: Holographic Display of 3-D Volumetric Data

ABSTRACT: Over the years, computer graphic techniques have been
developed for displaying solid models of 3-D information such as
automobiles, etc. A much harder class of problem, that of displaying
true 3-D volumetric data such as that produced by a metabolic image of
the brain, or simulation of fluid flow has seen much less success.

This seminar will present some early results on a volumetric imaging
technique utilizing holographic stereograms for displaying 3-D data.
Iamges that are extremely difficult to understand from their 2-D
projections become very understandable when viewed though the aid of
stereoscpoy and motion parallax that holographic stereograms offer.

Holographic stereograms of several types of data will be display as part
of this talk.
