This set me to wondering: has anyone ever posted the ispell program? This works much like the TOPS ispell program in that it looks up alternate spellings of misspelled words and presents a list of possibilites for you to choose from (or you can add the word to your private dictionary). I hacked up a GNU EMACS interface for it that also works much like the TOPS EMACS checker (which I believe was ispell underneath). The whole setup just wins all day long and I can't believe anyone uses anything else. Some fellow from Rutgers _swore_ he was gonna post a souped up version to the net Real Soon Now but that was over a year ago and I never saw it. I will wait a month if I don't hear that it has already been posted, I'll send what I got (EMACS interface included). Please let me know if I should post. For those with arpa, I think you can find it on MIT-PREP under /usr/src/local/ispell. (and no, I didn't run in over this article) Thanks, \/\/alt Walt Buehring Texas Instruments - Computer Science Center ARPA: Buehring%TI-CSL@CSNet-Relay UUCP: {smu, texsun, im4u, rice} ! ti-csl ! buehring
