We are looking to replace a small 68010-based UNIX system with a (less expensive) 80386-based system. Besides cost, we would like to be able to run IBM PC compatible software on the machine. The Compaq Deskpro 386 looks to be a good choice, but I have some questions: 1. Is there a multi-port adapter available would allow multiple (10+) users under a UNIX operating system? 2. Is there a port of 4.3BSD (w/virtual memory) available? If so, it seems logical that the 80386 would be several times faster than our 68010 machine, in addition to providing IBM PC software compatibility. Thanks for any assistance. -Charles cmcl2!philabs!tg!dasys1!cforeman
