Bad news from IED, today. According
to the people at the NYC office of
Thorn/EMI/Cannon/HBO Video, there is
virtually no likelihood of a US release
(in NTSC) of The Whole Story. They say
that if it's been released in the UK,
then they don't have world rights, and
if they don't have world rights, they
don't release it here. (This is presumably
a manifestation of the change in ownership
of EMI material that occurred when Globus
and Golan took over the video end here.)
Also there is still no plan to release the
soundtrack to "Brazil" at MCA, and in fact
it's not at all clear who even owns the ST
anymore. For receivers of cable, however,
IED strongly recommends you all watch "Brazil"
over and over, beginning this week...
