Our local terminal service is via a Gandalf Pacx2000 to VMZ32s or
DZ11s on Vax 11/785s running VMS4.3. Lately, we have been suffering
from having spurious characters (usually \, !, | or l) appearing on
terminals. These characters appear in a terminal session and, if
you're unlucky end up in files being edited. Whilst the incidence of
this fault is not that high - reports are received about daily -
neither DEC nor Gandalf seemed to have managed to diagnose the cause.

If anyone has suggestions or has suffered from this fault perhaps they
would care to get in touch.
