I need information about what teaching tools, programming languages in
particular, are used for the beginning Computer Science course(s) at various
colleges and universities.

If you know what is being used right now in the beginning classes at your
school, please let me know. Otherwise, I'd like to know what was used when
you took those courses, and (at least approximately) the year in which you
took them.

I will post a summary of the replies I get.

If such a survey has been previously conducted, please let me know where I can
find its results.

Thanks!
