Dyer Computer Consulting, Cambridge MA Lines: 19 comp.dcom.lans is not QUITE the right group for this, but seeing as its parent group doesn't exist, nor does net.dcom, it's all I've got. Is it possible to connect a DEC DMR-11 or DMV-11 synchronous interface running in maintenance mode to another vendor's synchronous hardware? I'd like to hope that the only problem is the mini-header which the DMR prepends and strips off which contains a checksum, and that in other respects, the data stream could be read by most any synchronous cards. Information on the format of the stream (HDLC bit-stuffing? byte-synchronous?) would be helpful, as would the exact format of the packet which gets sent by the DMR hardware. Just to clarify my question, I'm not interested in higher-level protocol issues, and maintenance mode turns off DDCMP. -- Steve Dyer dyer@harvard.HARVARD.EDU {linus,wanginst,bbnccv,harvard,ima,ihnp4}!spdcc!dyer
