The version is 17.71, dated Dec. 31, 1986. So we are in between the version on BBNV and the latest announcement (still being tested somewhere?). As Vaxes are upgraded to 4.3 we will install the latest version. On 4.3 BSD systems: I propose putting the latest version in /usr/local/nosupport as gnu-emacs. The emacs and emacs.85 in /usr/local/bin will also be moved to /usr/local/nosupport. Your question about rmail is being forwarded to the emacs-lovers group. I would also like to consult with a gnu-emacs user to see whether the default setting for the names of certain files and directoreis that Emacs refers to is set up correctly. On bbn-labs-n the file I question is /u2/ucs/emacs/lisp/paths.el. Any user out there want to try the new gnu-emacs? -Pam Andrews ----BEGINNING OF FORWARDED MESSAGES---- Received: from VAX.BBN.COM by CCJ.BBN.COM ; 5 Jan 87 21:18:11 EST To: unix-emacs@VAX.BBN.COM Cc: kanderson@VAX.BBN.COM, request@VAX.BBN.COM Subject: Latest Gnuemacs version at BBN Date: 05 Jan 87 21:16:20 EST (Mon) From: kanderso@VAX.BBN.COM I was wondering what versions of GNUEMACS other people at BBN were running. On BBNV the latest working version i've found is 16.56.10 (Feb 11 1986) Richard Stallman has just announced 18.35. Is there something in between at bbn i can upgrade to? Is there anyone trying to keep a reasonably up to date version? I have been using Jim Larus' mh-e mailer because i could never get rmail to work. Could someone show me how rmail works? k ----END OF FORWARDED MESSAGES----
