Message-ID: <97@bcsaic.UUCP> Date: Wed, 17-Dec-86 15:06:25 EST Article-I.D.: bcsaic.97 Posted: Wed Dec 17 15:06:25 1986 Date-Received: Tue, 23-Dec-86 18:59:37 EST Organization: Boeing Computer Services AI Center, Seattle Lines: 26 Xref: mnetor comp.unix.questions:441 comp.text:116 (Not sure what group(s) to post this to...) `refer' seems to have some undocumented bugs and/or features... The latest one I've run across is that if a person's name happens to be the same as the name of a month, it can't be used to pick out the reference. I.e. if you have the following in your roff file: .[ May 1985 .] --refer actually bombs! The error message is: Assertion failed: file refer2.c, line 84 (where is refer2.c??) Next, I tried adding May's first name: .[ Robert May 1985 .] --refer picked up another Robert someone who had written a paper in 1985 (as well as May's paper, hence "too many hits"). I finally added a word from the title, and it picked up only the correct reference (although I assume it still ignored the word "May"). My question is, what other undocumented bugs/features does `refer' have? What experiences have other people had? Work-arounds? -- Mike Maxwell Boeing Advanced Technology Center arpa: michaelm@boeing.com uucp: uw-beaver!uw-june!bcsaic!michaelm
