My Applicard came in a MicroPro box with the name StarCard on it, and the StarCard manual says the same thing. I think the manual lies. I haven't done any modem stuff, but I found that I needed the SFTVIDEO driver with my //e for printing to work - and I also made sure to use the FAST2E80 driver, because I have a standard Apple 80-column card. The first "problem" I found when I left out SFTVIDEO was that the keyclick disappeared, because the keyclick is a software function coded into SFTVIDEO. Because I haven't used a modem, I haven't explored the problem any further. You can find out for sure what works and what doesn't by calling or writing the PCPI customer support people: Personal Cpmputer Products, Inc. 1150 West Bernardo Ct San Diego, CA 92127 Phone (619) 485-8411 They are very good about answering questions. If you do contact them, please post anything you learn to info-apple.
