There is a bug in 1.3.6 apparently.  You need to call Microport and ask
for the fix disk.  It's a toll-free call: 1-800-PC2-UNIX.  They've been
fairly responsive to me thus far and calling them can actually get
problems solved.  bigtex is using a Courier 2400 and moves ~1.5meg of
data between 4 to 5 sites per day using the Courier for both dial-outs and
logins.
