I just read that the DECmate III cannot be upgraded to the just announced
DECmate III Plus. My sales rep said there was no trade-in program planned.
His sales info did not explain why the upgrade could not be done, but he
guessed that the power supply was different. Anybody know for sure?

The III Plus includes a 20MB hard disk. The price difference between a III and
a III Plus is $2000. We can't just throw out a III and buy a new III Plus at
$4700 a clip. (All right, we probably wouldn't just throw it out. :-)
