       but...

I need (or do I merely want?) the patch for PC-DOS version
3.2 to turn echo off permanently in batch files.  I don't
want the words "echo off" to appear, no, not even for a
minute.  No, I don't want one of those clever kludges with
escape sequences.  I want the byte and the value I must
change in COMMAND.COM.  Those of you who know what I mean
know what I mean.
