  I'd like to know about checking for carrier on the RS-232 as well, but for
Mark Williams C.  I found it rather odd that I couldn't find any mention of
this anywhere in any of the books I've looked through.  Uniterm tells you
when a carrier is present, so there must be a way to do it.
  Also, finding Ring Indicator would be nice as well.
