I have noticed a peculiar lack of messages on the net about MIPS
machines. All of them seem to come from MIPS employees. I haven't
seen any of the usual "we have a FOO machine and have this problem,
have you seen it" or "just look at how good our new FOO machine is at
doing BAR" messages.

Does this indicate that MIPS is not shipping machines to end users?
Or does it just mean that their end users need no help from us and
don't feel like bragging?

Then again, I never saw this kind of messages about Tandy machines
either, though they claim to be the largest seller of Unix...
