From Logicsoft, I ordered a Seagate ST-238 MB hard disk and a NEC Multisynch, both to plug into the "Standard Turbo-88", ordered separately (See: Mail Order Experience 2: Compuadd). Logisoft does not charge extra for using credit cards, so I charged them on my American Express Card to take advantage of their extended warranty offer. Incredibly, Logicsoft also ships Federal Express AIR, (again no extra charge!), so they arrived in *three days*. It's hard to go wrong with a Multisynch and a Seagate, but there were some nice touches in the latter case. The drive came partitioned, formatted, and sysed, with a disk parking program installed in the root directory. (Could have gotten lost if I had partitioned or maybe low-level formatted without checking first. Moral: Check first.) The accompanying Adaptec ACB-2070 controller card was also appropriately configured. Prices were competitive ($539 for the Seagate; $599 for the Multisynch) and the only extra cost was $23 for "insurance and handling", much less than the sales tax I didn't have to pay. I don't know about the quality of their house brands, but if you know what you want (15% restocking fee, if you guessed wrong), for name brands, Logicsoft is hard to beat. Highly recommended. -- JAY ROSENBERG Dept. of Philosophy UNC Chapel Hill, NC 27514 ...{decvax,akgua}!mcnc!ecsvax!unbent unbent@ecsvax.UUCP ...tucc!tuccvm!ecsvax!unbent unbent@ecsvax.BITNET
