Calamai) Organization: U. of Waterloo, Ontario Lines: 18 I'm looking for advice before purchasing a tape-backup unit for my IBM-PC. Reliability and speed are my primary concerns (cost isn't). I'm not sure if my power supply will support an internal tape drive so I may have to restrict myself to an external drive with it's own power supply. So far I'm favoring the Tallgrass TG-1040e or 1020e but they aren't the fastest by any means ( r/w speed = 75 in./sec. , data transfer rate = 750kb/sec.). Please email me your comments and recommendations if you have any. I'd be interested in the options, features, drawbacks, integrity, price, etc if you can supply them. I'd also be interested in hearing about any magazine reviews (I've seen the one in BYTE, Oct. 1986).
