I have been thinking of giving it a shot, because of the added instruction capability. I understand that it is compatible with the existing 6502. Has anyone verified this? On the smaller side, I have also heard that the 65C02 will work in the 400/800, but not the newer 800XL and XE models. Verification? Also, I have need of a serial interface board for my Atari. Since my Atari is mainly used for fun, I was thinking of con- structing one of my own from scratch, that will sit on the serial line and provide support for at least two RS232 ports. Has any- one got a good design for one? I am trying to work out a way so that the RS232 controller will be smart enough not to interfere with the disk I/O requests. I would prefer to allow RS232 I/O and disk I/O over the same channel without specially toggling the RS232 line off the serial bus. Still, if anyone has any brilli- ant ideas of how to build any sort of serial interface for the Atari that interfaces through the serial bus, drop me some mail. ##################################### # Life's a beach, then you erode... # ##################################### Mark VandeWettering University of Oregon {Computer Science,Chemstores} ..!tektronix!uoregon!markv ..!tektronix!uoregon!chemstor!mark -- Mark VandeWettering University of Oregon {Computer Science,Chemstores} mark@{uoregon,chemstor}.UUCP
