Yet Another Opinion: I have MT C-SHELL and liked it well enough
to buy the Hard Disk Cache product which has worked perfectly.

MT C-SHELL is imperfect and does need work. On the other hand,
it has a large number of commands that work just fine in single
user mode (I had problems after "init2").

Beckemeyer has tried to do something very difficult - put a multi user
OS in the same address space as underlying single tasking TOS/GEM -
not something faced by OS9. The result is a "pioneering" program and
the usual accompaning arrows in the back are the result.

Since the first release of IBM MS-DOS (remember) had a BASIC with
a bad error is only one of a long list of what version 1.0 of any
program is like, I would state the MT C-SHELL is no worse than
any Microsoft/IBM/... product.

Given that, if you don't like version 1 product, wait until 1.01/1.1/2.0.

One final note, I've read that a Microsoft/IBM MS-DOS 3.0 version had
a backup/restore program that had a bad bug, maybe its even worse than
I've just said. Let's all have a cup of Christmas cheer to Saint
Murphy - our omnipresent benefactor :-)
