RE:  Chrominance output on XL

I don't know why you think that the video output on the 800XL only has 4
pins... I have a 1200XL which has the same connector, a DIN 5 pin jack.

Anyways, yes, it IS true that there is no CHROMINANCE (chroma) available
on the XL's, and it is also true that it is possible to add it.
I added it on my computer with a simple wire off of a resistor going to
the video modulator.  As the chrominance is required to modulate color
so that you can hook up a tv to the rca jack.  You can tap this signal
without any problems using a 220 ohm resistor soldered to one end of a
resistor going to the modulator.  I don't remember the number on the board,
and I am sure the numbers would differ for the 800, so you'd have to check
schematics for your computer.
