There are a few cheap or free LISP-type languages for VMS.

o XLISP (I understand 1.8 is the (near-)current version). I've got 1.4.
	This is public domain.

o MIT-Scheme. This is ?freeware?. I seem to recall a copyright notice
in the source headers, but it is similar to GNU copyrights.
I have a copy (not sure which version at them moment). This is
a lexically-scoped version of LISP from MIT.

o Franz LISP. I don't know the cost, but it does run under VMS.

o NIL (New Implementation of LISP). This is what DOE-Macsyma runs on.
Getting DOE-Macsyma from National Energy Software Center costs
~ $2000-$4000 for commercial sites. Less for educational sites.
I hear this one is deadly slow.

There is also a LISP interpreter of sorts in the GNU Emacs editor. This
is the only LISP programming I've done, so I can't argue the strengths
and weaknesses of any.
