I don't recall anyone asking, but MY opinion is that programs published in
magazines are ALWAYS subject to legal "fair-use" copying.  In my definition,
if I bought the magazine or disk, I am entitled to copy the program onto
another disk and use it for some purpose of my choosing.  This includes
giving it to a friend if I see fit.  The friend would then be violating the
copyright if he or she further copied it for others unless he or she also
had purchased the magazine.

Anyway, it's a nice rationalization!
