Summary: should be tor.newsadmin -- and quickly!
Checksum: 60410

I am not now a news admin, but I have been one and I am interested in the
experiment represented by tor.news.*. I think it is a good idea.

But I think that, even with the recent change, it is still badly named.
The reason is that new net users will see the name "tor.news" and think it
means something like what "ont.events" really means, and will post to it by
mistake, and these postings will then miss their intended audience.
Also, people could subscribe/unsubscribe to a wrong group.

It may not be that great a problem, but it is one that would be easily
fixed if it's done before the existing names get entrenched.

Note that January is one of the months that bring a greater than average
number of new users onto the net, because of school terms. I am therefore
calling for a quick response on my proposal to rename:

	tor.news	-> tor.newsadmin
	tor.news.stats	-> tor.newsadmin.stats

Please reply both to me as the proposer and to {utzoo, utcs, utcsri, dciem,
mnetor, hcr, yetti} !lsuc!dave who created the groups originally but is
currently out of town.
