By the way, it occurred to me after I'd posted my last that it could be
misinterpreted.  I'd like to make it clear that it's not my intent either
to complain, or to flame *anyone*.

I realize that a lot of people are doing a lot of (usually unpaid) work
to get software onto and around the net.  I appreciate it very much, and
I wouldn't even dream of wanting to criticise them.

All I really want to do is to *suggest*, non-critically, that descriptive
blurbs would also be much appreciated; and that I suspect they would in
fact cut down the work required by everyone (including the originators) if
they could be provided, in a form that could be read before porting and
decoding the goodies themselves.
