I would like to know if anyone else out there is having trouble with their
Gemini 10X printers. I have had mine for about 3 years now, and in the last
four months it has started to act up on me. I have noticed an unusually large
amount of friction between the ribbon and the printhead, caused by the ribbon
shield that is attached to the printhead carriage body. This causes the ribbon
spools to be spun somewhat freely on the return path and ribbon tension is lost.
The loss of tension allows the ribbon to fall and it gets trapped under the
printhead, or falls low enough that the head prints over it. I have folded
a piece of light cardboard and placed it between the case and the spools and
this succeeded in keeping the spools from freespinning but it did not cure my
problem.

Aside from this, I have had no other problems with my printer and have
throughly enjoyed owning it. I liked it so well that I convinced two of my
closest friends to buy Gemini's.

Any suggestions? I would like to removed the ribbon shield but it is attached to
the carriage and removal would require the disassembly of most of the printer.

thank you.
