Lines: 17 Keywords: BIND, domain name server, sendmail Summary: Need better use of name server resource records by sendmail The sendmail that comes with BSD 4.3 will use the BIND domain name server to resolve host names. While this is OK, it would be nice if it used the MX, MB, MG, etc. resource records also. If anyone has modified sendmail to use the name server in this way I would appreciate hearing from you. Any suggestions on alternate mailers, other than MMDFII, would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance. --Daniel Ehrlich UUCP: {burdvax,cbosgd,cmcl2,pitt,ihnp4}!psuvax1!ehrlich CSNET: ehrlich@penn-state.csnet USPS: The Pennsylvania State University INTERNET: ehrlich@psuvax1.psu.edu Department of Computer Science BITNET: ehrlich@psuvax1.bitnet 333 Whitmore Laboratory BELL: +1 814 863 1142 University Park, PA 16802 Quote: "The sky is blue so we know where to stop mowing."
