Object-oriented programming is proposed by its supporters as a solution
to the problem of building large software systems (see, for example, Kahn's
paper, "Object Oriented Languages Tackle Massive Programming Headaches"
(Electronics, 11/17/82), Cox's book, "Object-Oriented Programming: An
Evolutionary Approach", and, of course, the C++ and Smalltalk 80 books).

I am looking for (published) experimental evidence that proves or disproves
these claims--something like the experiments reported in CACM a while back
for text editors and in IEEE Computer recently for the Lisa desktop paradigm.
