I have a 1200XL which has the same connector, a DIN 5 pin jack. Anyways, yes, it IS true that there is no CHROMINANCE (chroma) available on the XL's, and it is also true that it is possible to add it. I added it on my computer with a simple wire off of a resistor going to the video modulator. As the chrominance is required to modulate color so that you can hook up a tv to the rca jack. You can tap this signal without any problems using a 220 ohm resistor soldered to one end of a resistor going to the modulator. I don't remember the number on the board, and I am sure the numbers would differ for the 800, so you'd have to check schematics for your computer. Nick
