The last time I was in Las Vegas (1980 POPL conference) I was told by a
casino official that the Nevada State Gaming Commission requires the use of a
certain certified random-number-generating box in all digital gambling
machines, and that this box contained a hardware random number generator
whose randomness was certified by that commission as fair for gaming
purposes.

Does anybody know anything about this box or how it works?
