It doesn't kill type-ahead for me...I just end my line with a CR and it
gets queued up for the next read from the console.  Not only that but,
*because* of the "clean display" code, I don't have to try to figure out
what it is that *I* typed in as opposed to what the *system* typed back at
me.  I'm like this feature a LOT.
