The icon is not in the boot block or the desktop file. The Finder gets the SCSI drive icon from the SCSI driver. Each SCSI manufacturer tends to use their own icon. I forget the exact # to use, but you can create an ICN# in the Finder and the Finder will it use in place of the one in the driver.
