Lately, we have been suffering from having spurious characters (usually \, !, | or l) appearing on terminals. These characters appear in a terminal session and, if you're unlucky end up in files being edited. Whilst the incidence of this fault is not that high - reports are received about daily - neither DEC nor Gandalf seemed to have managed to diagnose the cause. If anyone has suggestions or has suffered from this fault perhaps they would care to get in touch. --Charles Curran, Oxford University (UK) JANET: charles@uk.ac.oxford.vax2 Computing Service, EARN/BITNET charles@vax2.oxford.ac.uk 13 Banbury Road, or: charles%oxford.vax2@AC.UK Oxford, OX2 6NN, UUCP: mcvax!ukc!ox-prg!charles England.
