What really got me was Tom Frye saying how much he and his friends at Reed loved each other, what good friends they were, etc... AND THEY HAD ONLY JUST MET EACH OTHER! I have to congratulate Tom for at least going to see people he's been talking to on the net/phone for awhile. But I also have to laugh when I hear him say how much he loves and is great friends with some people who he's never met, never seen, but only read their words on a screen, and perhaps heard their voices on the telephone. In my experience, I've found that only the folks who've had a few, long-lasting, real-life close relationships with people; those who've been hurt many times; those who know what it is to deal with people on a meaningful level from a position of security, not fear and loneliness... only those are the ones to whom real trust, love, and friendship do not come from electronically-transmitted words, but from the experience of being with people, relying on them, being there for them, etc. I can understand how you might love someone's company, how you might wish to become friends with someone you've just met. But to say you love and are dear friends with someone you've never met seems ludicrous to me. - Tim --- "Time is for dragonflies and angels.
