I quote: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Newsgroup Description ---------------------------------------------------------------------- net.jobs Job announcements, requests, etc. ^^^^^^^^ > It takes about as much guts to post your resume to the Net as it > does to send the same to a company you'd like to work for. Did it ever occur to you that people might not KNOW what companies can use their particular skills? Not everyone wants to apply to the KNOWN companies like IBM, AT&T, etc., nor does everyone want to work in a `large company' environment. > The latter doesn't muck up a public network (unless you want to be > totally obnoxious and consider US Mail a Network) and is probably > more likely to elicit a response. Once again I refer you to my quote above re: the PURPOSE of net.jobs. If you feel that this newsgroup is a waste of communication resources, then see if you can get enough support to have it removed. > And I'm sorry if you are having to stoop to the net to find > prospective employees. McInvale You must have a rather low opinion of the people on Usenet to make that statement. Not everyone on the Net is a wet-behind-the-ears college student with no experience or useable skills. Perhaps it is beneath you to `stoop' as low as to even read articles posted on Usenet, let alone post one yourself... You must be rather secure in your job to be able to thumb your nose at people not so fortunate. I happen to be quite secure in my position in life, but I sure as hell don't look down on people trying to find a job! === Larry Lippman @ Recognition Research Corp., Clarence, New York === === UUCP {decvax, dual, rocksanne, rocksvax, watmath}!sunybcs!kitty!larry === === VOICE 716/741-9185 {rice,shell}!baylor!/ === === FAX 716/741-9635 {AT&T 3510D} ihnp4!/ === === === === "Have you hugged your cat today?" ===
