The net.cooks readership is thinking about collectively assembling a
cookbook. I originally posted a suggestion to create a net.cooks.recipes,
but based on response and general flamage about newsgroups, I've decided
that it should be created as a moderated group.

I will happily volunteer to be the moderator, though I won't fight anybody
if they decide that they would rather be the moderator--it's more a
willingness and a belief that I know how to do it, rather than a heartfelt
need.

My intention is that mod.recipes have recipes sent out in nroff/troff
format, and also periodic issuance of software that people can use to make
cookbooks out of what they find there. I know that some small percentage of
the net does not have access to nroff/troff, but somehow I can't get excited
about that. I intend to keep my master copies of the recipes in Scribe
format, and compile them down into xroff before posting them, but that
shouldn't concern you all.

Naturally I will cull good recipes from net.cooks, and also send out things
that people post directly.
