I would be glad to exchange comments, answer questions, etc. on its uses. Unlike all the "canned" MIDI programs (I've consulted on a real nice one for the Macintosh), -YOU- write the code and it does what -YOU- want. My favorite interface as of yet is directly onto some 68000 bus with a interrupt handler managing the input and output data flow. By virtue of all this, I can upload patterns, songs, and presets to another computer for archive, interchange, and processing. For example, melody and drum patterns galore, all synth and effect presets, and even sampled sounds wavetables. Is there anybody on USENET also doing this stuff?
