Thomas Ferrin (ucsfcgl!tef) at Univ. of California, San Francisco
has written a paper entitled "A Recipe for Establishing Point-to-Point
TCP/IP Network Links with 4.2 BSD Unix". In the paper he describes
the procedures necessary for establishing a point-to-point network link.
Tom points out the necessary hardware, software, and costs of
establishing either a 9600 baud or 56 K baud dedicated link. A working
network link between UCSF and UCB was used as a model.

ACC participated by supplying the Host Interface (the ACP 6100) at
the UCSF site.
