Well the saga continues:  In this corner we have

USR Courier 2400
------------------------------------ $350 --------------------------
300/1200/2400 baud                Hayes Compatable
Very intellegent                  Tone/Pulse

And in this corner we have

SB180 Mosart (Based on the XFC1203 chip)   
----------------------------------- $350 ---------------------------
110/300/1200 baud               Speech Synthasis on/off phone
Tone/Pulse                      Tone/Pulse Decoding
Voice Detection                 Call Progress

How useful is 2400?  How soon does one suspect 1200 will die out.
Remember the 300/1200 switch.  Look at the XFC 1203 chip in Nov. Byte.
Nice chip!  Will 2400 really provide future capability or are we still
choosing a standard here.
