While I cannot give any pointers about the Versatec I know of an excellent UNIX based package for the HP Laserjet. It comes with the entire AT&T DWB package (including ditroff) and provides very nice looking output on the Laserjet. Features include support of eqn, pic, and the ability to print special characters (greek & math symbols) that are not available in the standard ROM fonts. It will even let you insert bitmap graphics in your troff file - a special mode is also provided to handle Macpaint images. The package is called Eroff and it is available from Elan Computer Group. Their phone number is +1 415 948 8193 or you can reach them by sending mail to ...!{amdahl,hplabs}!elan!support As is traditional in this type of posting I will assure people that I have no interest financial or otherwise in Elan or Eroff (except that I like the package). -- Stephen J.
