It was not clear how to reply to you via jaffe@red.rutgers.edu, and I didn't
want to delay my posting any further by having to resubmit this message.  If
*you* feel strongly about it, you have my permission to break up my posting
into separate postings.  *But*:  (1) I put multiple topics in one posting one
-- oops -- on purpose, and would rather it remained clustered, and (2) by
going through this discussion, spanning a weekend and many issues of sf-lovers,
my posting has been delayed long enough that it has lost most of its initial
value and impact.  
  
For future reference, is there some easy way that I can indicate somewhere
that you are likely to see that I have done something unusual that I would
like preserved?
