Our favorite made-up-but-better-than-the-real word is "flutterby".
We've used that since my siblings and I were very young. I'm
amazed that we still use the made-up words even though we are all
adults now. Of course we only do that when around family. We all
know the real words. :-) Sometimes "aminal" and "wapoo" (for apple)
sneak out when we least expect them.
