Chicago, Astronomy & Astrophysics Lines: 24 Xref: watmath net.jokes.d:1208 net.news.group:4510 I am willing to moderate mod.jokes. (I volunteered a year or so ago, but was told that there already was a moderator who was going to start "soon".) I would not post any joke that I had already heard or read ANYWHERE, unless I was fairly certain that most subscribers hadn't also heard it. Would many people submit jokes to a moderator? I am skeptical, but there's only one way to find out. Well, maybe two ways. Readers are invited to mail me answers to the following questions: (If your first two answers are both "no", don't bother!) 1. Do you read net.jokes? 2. Would you read mod.jokes? 3. If mod.jokes existed, would you stop reading net.jokes? 4. Have you ever posted a joke to net.jokes? 5. If mod.jokes existed, would you send jokes there instead? Optional extra credit questions: 6. Are the moderating guidelines of the first paragraph acceptable? 7. Should "canonical collections" also be posted periodically? 8. (R.P. Feynman memorial) Write your own question, and answer it. _____________________________________________________ Matt University crawford@anl-mcs.arpa Crawford of Chicago ihnp4!oddjob!matt
