I can also work without a bookshelf full of manuals. I only need 2: the UNIX
Programmer's Manual and the Users Guide. When I was working on RSX I needed
all 6.5 volumes all the time, and VMS doesn't seem to be any better.

So format all the man files ahead of time & archive off the unformatted
version like everyone else does. Then man becomes a variant of cat/more.
