I heard from an unimpeachable source that people who work around ammonia just *don't get colds.* And after I spent a day [as a busboy] washing walls with an ammonia solution, I discovered that my sinuses were just amazingly clear. However, short of a daily snort of ammonia, I guess that once you get the cold you have to choose between "remedies" and just being comfortable. But our favorite U of C humanoid Melinda Shore already pointed out, comfort may be more important.
