OOOOOOPS!  I GOOFED!

Of course, a player could not win by half a point.  What I meant
to say was that a score such as 12 1/2 to 11 1/2 was entirely
possible (and nearly the outcome).  I clearly misunderstood the
thrust of the earlier comments, and therefore contributed to 
net.jokes - by providing some laughs for readers of my first
posting!
