Blacks are defined by what they _are_. Yuppies are defined by what they
_do_. (Blacks are born, yuppies are made. (-: )

I was somewhat amused at the reactions to my posting a description of what
the word "yuppie" brought to my mind. Several people immediately flamed
back to the effect of "how dare you say such things about me?". I
displayed a general garment and they immediately claimed it was tailored
for them.

I didn't even say "this is a yuppie", only "this is my image of a yuppie".
If you don't fit the image then you aren't what I think of as a yuppie. If
you do, then you are. In either case, you have no justification for
complaining.

As to whether or not I'm a yuppie by my own definition, no one's even asked
and, for now, I'm not saying.
