My son (now 4 years old) got meningitis and was in the hospital for
a week.  It's serious stuff.  The worst part is seeing your kid in
incredible pain (the doctor said it's the worst headache imaginable),
screaming and crying, and knowing there's not a thing you can do
except pray.  Luckily our doctor recognized the disease on the spot and
took appropriate action.  We were lucky.

I only wish the vaccine had been available three years ago!
