Those superusers are "topologically well placed" because their sites are paying a large portion of usenet's bills. 2. I was pleased to see someone taking some strong decisive action for a change. I support the decision drop net.bizarre. 3. I am in awe of the misunderstandings and miscommunication abounding with regard to net.internat. I haven't seen anyone deny that it serves a useful purpose yet most of the flames have concentrated on defending its purpose. I believe all that is intended is to fit it properly into the newsgroup structure with a more reasonable name. The discussion was barely two days old before the newgroup messsage came around. Hardly enough time for feedbackto get back to Europe. net.internat is clearly a poor name. The group charter as "mandated" by the EUUG was to discuss the internationalization (ugh! who made up that word?) of Unix. Yet I've already seen several people who believe it is for discussion of international software issues. To more properly fulfill its creator's intentions it should clearly be net.unix.internat or even mod.std.internat. -- From the TARDIS of Mark Callow msc@saber.UUCP, sun!saber!msc@decwrl.dec.com ...{decwrl,ucbvax}!sun!saber!msc, ...{amdcad,ihnp4}!saber!msc
