Reference is made to a 74 page paperback book, published in 1978 by a firm in Santa Rosa (see below) : Escargots from your garden to your table, by Francois Picart. You can order it from the publisher, or it may be in local bookstores. As of the article date, "F. Picart Snails", 1550 Ridley Ave., Santa Rosa, Calif. 94501 was buying garden snails for $.25 per pound (about 50-80 mature snails).
