I agree that some things will always be remembered with an unpleasant feeling, but in my own paltry years of experience I find that just waiting long enough dulls the pain considerably. Just about anything, when you look at it in perspective, loses its importance in a few years' time--unless you susbscribe to the Cataclysmic Historical Events school of thought, in which case you will be FOREVER thinking, "If only this had happened. . . it would have affected everything up until now. . . it would all be different. . ." And Oded is right in that the most painful memories are of things YOU did.
