Bruce Webster writes: [Since Macintosh video reads other memory], the 68000 doesn't need to *time-slice* while reading the RAM on the daughter board. Italics mine. Quoted from p401 col. 2 para. 1 November '85 BYTE I believe he means "to insert wait states" not "to time-slice." The phrase time- slice has a meaning with respect to time division multiplexing not lengthened memory accesses (to the best of my knowledge. I could be wrong.) What this industry doesn't need is for a technical bridge, like BYTE, to start inventing a jargon to supplant the techie-eze we now all mouth. Bruce, Bruce, Bruce. I know Bruce reads the net, and if I had thought to get his address I would have mailed this to him. Bruce, any reply?? dave -- "The Faster I Go the Behinder I Get" --Lewis Carroll Dave Carlson {allegra,seismo,decvax}!rochester!ur-valhalla!dave
