I recall recently seeing an article concerning a life-size (I can't remember
exactly, but I am reasonably certain >10ft wingspan) mechanical Pterodactyl
model, already demonstrated or to be demonstrated soon.  The mechanical
Pterodactyl propels itself in flight by *flapping its wings*.  If I remember
correctly, the model was developed by Paul McCready & company (of Gossamer
{Condor, Albatross, ...} fame).
