So far this stereotype conversation has been one-sided.  Most every
example of these classes have all been male oriented.  What makes
a woman a yuppie, or nerd, or redneck, or (having recently read net.jokes)
JAP, or ...

   As a pet theory, I tend to think that people categorize other people
just so they don't have to deal with a lot of special cases to remember
everyone they ever met.  Details are reserved for more significant people.
Stereotyping is an internal filing system.  Generalizing means the brain
don't have to work so hard.
