After reading the discussions about the various approaches to handling the network protocol, I have one (probably naive) question: How will all this affect me? More specifically, if I go out and buy a TAPR (or similar) TNC, what do I have to do to be able to connect to Joe Blow in Anytown, USA. Will I have to be registered with someone who controls a net? Will he? As I understand things currently, I have to know which digipeaters I want to hit to connect to him. Will I still have to know this? I'm just a little concerned that, know that I have almost figured out how packet works, I'm going to have to spend the next 2 years studying network theory to find out how to talk to someone. -- Of course we have backup tapes. Do you want last year or the year before? Chris Moore (408) 749-4692 UUCP: {ucbvax,decwrl,ihnp4,allegra}!amdcad!amdimage!cmoore
