I was in Ithaca, NY recently and some gay friends told me that
many gay and lesbian people are wearing black rubber wrist bands
to identify them as gay or lesbian to other gay or lesbian people.

I haven't seen any indication that this has caught on here in New
Jersey so I was hoping to hear from anyone who has seen this
sign anywhere else.

Also; lesbians may put "lambda" bumper stickers on their cars...
is there any gay equivalent? (e.g. a "gamma" bumper sticker)

Are there any other regional, covert flags that gays use to identify
themselves?
