Pierre Franey tells a funny story of his boyhood in France, where
they collect snails in the fall, feed them mostly lettuce through the
winter and eat them in the early spring. He and his father had gathered
a couple of buckets full and left them sitting overnight without being
tightly sealed. In the morning they were all awakened by Mme. Franey screaming
at the top of her lungs. Seems the snails had gotten out and were crawling
across the ceiling in her bedroom.
