Now that I've got ST Writer, I've been trying to get my serial printer
hooked up to my ST. So far I've been totally unsucessful. Printing from
GEM doesn't seem to work at, no matter what permutations of ST and printer
settings I try or what cable/pin cross matching I try.

The ST talks to my modem just fine however.

Now along comes ST Writer and lo, it spits stuff out the serial port. BUT,
it doesn't handshake with my SLOW printer. Aftera late night last night I
have found this: If I set the ST serial port to Xon,Xoff (which seems to
require a reboot(?)) the ST will stop when my printer sends Xoff, but fails
to restart when sent an Xon. I monitored the connection to verify this.
So, I tried hardware handshaking; same thing. As soon as the handshaking
signal CTS in this case comes along the ST stops and stays stopped. Further
more, in both cases the ST requires a reboot to bring it back to life.

Any suggestions ST gurus?
