Lines: 14 From: PEREIRA@SRI-AI.ARPA At SRI's AI Center, we have an Ethernet with over 20 Symbolics and Xerox Lisp machines, 2 VAXes running VMS/Eunice, one Sun 2/170 file server, two 2/50's and other bits and pieces. Our collision rate seems pretty low (less than 1 per 1000 packets), and the Suns talk with no problem (or apparent slow down) to the VAXes and Lisp machines. However, the 2/170 will sometimes choke on heavy output from the diskless 2/50s, for example when a 4 Mb process dumps core. We then get NFS not ready messages, but things recover within less than a minute. -- Fernando Pereira -------
