I got a call from a local storm window dealer just the other
day (while I was trying to put my contact lenses in). The
woman started reading her script and it didn't seem likely
that she was going to stop expounding the virtues of her
product any time soon. I quickly got tired of listening so
I quietly put down the phone and went about my business.
By the time my lenses were in the call had been completed.

I know it was not polite for me to abandon the phone but it
was also not polite for her to monopolize the conversation.
If I had been asked, I would have said "No, thank you".
