Toot a root, Dan. The Royals would have finished 3rd in the NL east.
The minor league can thank the tarp at Busch Memorial and a blind
umpire for game seven. If this sounds like sour grapes, BINGO!!.
I've got the world class definition of a sour grape attitude about
an inferior team from an inferior league stealing the Series from my
Redbirds.
I'll go to my grave KNOWING that the Cards had, have and will continue
to have a better team than any in the minor league.
Well for all that, congratulations to the team from Kansas City, they
never, ever gave up and battled from behind like champions. Brett is just
awesome in the clutch. When he's hot he's unstoppable and when he's not
he bats .300!!
A word about the demented Dominican (Andujar). Personally, I think
Whitey fired him up and put him in just to create a scene so Whitey could
have a few choice words with that idiot Denkinger.
Anyway, time to root for the Illini football team but as always there are
only two seasons: the baseball season and the off-season. Till April...
