Has anyone in netland seen a "Diskman" style CD player besides the
Sony in a stereo store? I see ads, spec sheets, reviews, etc. for portable
CD players by Technics and Yamaha, but can find none. A local "catalog
showroom" has a Technics CD player (NOT the D-5) listed in its catalog, but
not in stock ("We expect them to be delivered REAL SOON NOW").

Have there been problems with production? I know that the Sony D-5 is too
sensitive to vibration to be truly a portable.

If anyone has actually used a "Diskman" style CD player as a portable, I would
be interested in your review. I want to use one for skiing (downhill in
the white stuff...the only kind of real skiing).
