The man certainly does not worry about offending anyone.....
That aside, I tend to agree. Many of the people on the net seem to
be having a love affair with their terminals; as has been noted
before, it is a very low-risk environment. But all the same,
electronic communication is no substitute for the real thing.

This posting will no doubt spawn a flurry of of hate mail and
maudlin endorsements of the net (.. it saved my life, I learned *so*
much..., I made many friends.... blah blah-blah blah BLAH). Great;
the net has a function. But there comes a time, so to speak, when
you have to fish or cut bait.

Get out there and laugh a little, love a little, hang your soul out
where people can stomp on it; take a little risk; do something just
because you are afraid to do it; do something you have never done
before; hitch your pants up, or straighten your brassiere, and go
talk to that guy or girl about whom you've been having dreams. And oh
yes, don't forget to listen to the song without a sound...
