Greetings and all that.

I have seen a few items going by on various net.* on the subject of the
demise of Callan Data Systems (a maker of 68000 UNIX Multibus boxes).

I was software manager at Callan up until about two years ago. I joined
Callan as the ``UNIX expert'', and went from the first UNIX V7 to System
V, at which point I left to go to work at UniSoft.

I like the Callan UniStar -- it is one of the best Multibus boxes around.
I have the very first UniStar 200 (first 8 slot) off thew production line,
and in November, it will be 3 years old, and still going.

I still feel a slight and vague sense of wanting my work on the Callans
to be ``not totally wasted''.

Thus - to whoever can/is forming a users group, I can offer a limited
amount of help. I have board sources, schematics, software, prom masters
and prom source, etc. Subject to any LEGAL limitations, I will make
AN ATTEMPT VIA E-MAIL (ONLY) to respond to questions.

Please - I too am busy (very BIG inbox).
So - EMAIL only (no phone calls)
and - desperation only (i.e. Read The Fucking Manual First!!!!!!).

Oh well - another UNIX box maker bites the dust.
