We also have some strange things happen with our memory. A few years ago,
we bought the (then) new 64K boards to extend our memory from 4 to 12 Meg.
Everytime the Micro Diags (off-line) were run and the system was automa-
tically booted afterward, the system would allocate 4 Meg because it thought
the memory wasn't contiguous (so I was told). Powering off and on the memory
power supplies before booting cures our problem and I've never bothered to
ask why.

p.s. 10 of the 12 Meg is DEC memory. 2 Meg is Mostec (I believe).
