There was a story published earlier this year in one of the SF mag-
azines (F&SF, maybe) called "The Aliens That Knew I Mean Everything."
I forget the author's name, but the story was very enjoyable.  They
were humanoid, and they had opinions about everything (e.g. "The rest
of the universe is just wild about hollyhocks."), which they felt duty-
bound to impart to us poor, uncultured humans.  They also had space-
ships that ran on vacuum tubes.  Finally, all the humans moved off-
planet just to get away from them.

Does anyone remember the author?
