No the word was electrode, meaning an electrical contact used by some 
fundamentalists associated with the Rev. J. Falwell to discipline small 
children in Sunday school. If the child was not behaving as the teacher 
wished they would "chastise" the child electrically. This practice was 
stopped after a lawsuit was filed by the parents of one of these "bad"
children.
