I think that it is pretty clear that some slippage is occuring somewhere
or the motor in the robot is going to break.  For example, the robots "feet"
slip and thus heat up the floor or a belt inside of him slips and begins to 
heat up.  If there is no slippage--the motor will burnout or die some other
way.  I don't think that there is any mystery here.
