With the amount of self-righteousness and intolerance that exists on this
network, in all groups, it would surprise me greatly if ANY note or response
gets all the way through to the other end without censure, unless the topic is
so innocuous that it couldn't possibly offend anyone.  So much for open intel-
lectual discussion forums where each individual can speak his (or her) mind
without fear of retribution.  In particular, note the violence levels in net.-
flame.  This is symptomatic of the general modality of a society (taken as a
whole) which cannot abide freedom of anything if it disagrees with the "accep-
ted" normals.  Fear of changing "established" viewpoints/dogmas highly offends
those people who are unable to formulate their own opinions.  The real cause
of this is closer to Orwell's 1984 than would first meet the eye.  It really 
reminds me a lot of the "Planet of the Apes" series, juxtaposed of course.
