If you enter c-mode in emacs, the editor will give "()" if you type in
a "(". Has anybody noticed that, if you change you mind after typing in
"(", you delete the "(", the matching ")" emacs gave you was not deleted.
  
Does anybody happen to know whether emacs's c-mode was designed this way
or this is one of the "options" one can choose. Does anybody know how
to eliminate the irregularity -- it would be nice that the c-mode is in
some way symmetrical.
