Peter,
Welcome to the USA, and I hope you get to do a bunch of jumping during
your stay here! Here's some addresses for you to start with:

> 1) the address of the USPA

     UNITED STATES PARACHUTE ASSOCIATION
     1440 Duke Street
     Alexandria, VA 22314
     (phone: (703) 836-3495)

> 2) addresses of dropzones in the NJ area

I live in Oregon, so I don't know that area at all. But, there is at
least one USPA affiliated center in New Jersey:

     Lakewood Skydiving
     Lakewood Airport
     Box 517
     Lakewood, NJ 08701
     (phone: (201) 367-8264)

> 3) shops, where i can buy small equipment like altimeters, helmets etc.

You can probably buy what you need at the drop zone, but if not, Para-Gear
Equipment Co. carries a complete line of literally everything you could ever
want. Their catalog costs $2.00.

     Para-Gear Equipment Co.
     3839 W. Oakton Street
     Skokie, IL 60076
     (phone: (312) 679-5905; Toll Free #: (800) 323-0437)

Let us know of your jumping experiences as soon as you get started.
Blue skies and soft winds!
