Doctor erects new life for Australian -- SYDNEY, Australia (UPI)

A man who underwent microsurgery a month ago to reconnnect his severed
penis says the operation was a complete success and that he was able to
engage in sex. Leitu Fiso of Belmore, a western suburb of Sydney, under-
went the operation at Prince of Wales Hospital after his organ was
allegedly severed by a jealous lover. Surgeons told Fiso he should
test the pennis one month after the operation by attempting to have
an erection and then a few days later by having sexual intercourse.
Fiso said in a television interview Monday night that he had sexual inter-
course Sunday night and that the penis worked perfectly, although he
suffered some pain. "It made me very happy. When it was cut off I was
worried I was going to die," Fiso said. The surgeon who performed the
operation said it was slightly more difficult than sewing on a finger.
"The penis is not perfectly normal, but it is fairly good," the
doctor said.
