I've just gotten a info sheet on the LaserJet Plus. The info you need is
that the upgrade kit costs $1495.00 list (we've already been offered it
at $1195 discount), and the Parallel Interface Upgrade Kit is $65 list.

There are two soft font disks out now:

33412AA TMS/Helv Base, USASCII or Roman-8 type faces @ $250 list.

33412AB (which is the Roman-8 face) (same price)

These are also available on 3 1/2" disks for the HP micro.

The plus option gets you 512K of total memory, 395K "user buffer memory".
Up to 32 "macros" (don't know what these are), 16 fonts per page, downloadable
soft fonts, a full page of bit-mapped graphics at 75,100, & 150 dpi, and
1/2 page at 300 dpi (jeeze, why didn't they just go all the way and put
a megabyte in....). Built in fonts are a 10 pitch port. and landscape
courier and the 16.66 lin printer portrait font. the character cell
size is .4 in (.2 for orig. machine) and up to 30 pt. type size is
now supported.

A Rs-422C interface is an option.

Also, there is apparenly some built-in facility for built-in rules,
shading and patterns.

As far as I can tell there is not way to do vector graphics, only
bit-mapped downloads (and this is going to be awful slow at 9600
or 19.2 Kbaud...).
