I know what you are talking about too.  I think this feeling occurs
when I feel a bit suffocated in the relationship.  This has happened to
me lately and I think it's because the other person (man) is trying to
take care of me too much.  Maybe it's just the standard 'you get too
much attention and you hate it, but once you don't get enough, you try
to move in closer (to get the person back).'
