n the Febuary issue of the American Go Journal there is an
article about nemisis. The is also an interesting article about
"chunking" (as relates to cognitive psychology) that gives a 
glimpse of where nemisis game from. 

Nemisis is a go program that runs on several machines, IBM PC's, 
Vaxen running Unix or VMS and Sun workstations. It currently
plays at 15 Kyu But there are plans for 10K and 5K games as well
