There is a specially tailored C interface library which gives a very respectable performance under Unix. I've had all the tools except newton and istci running on our 11/780&11/750 under 4.2bsd. Toolpack has been implemented on an Apollo workstation, in fact the majority of the development work takes place on this machine. For more details contact Bob Iles, NAG Central Office, Mayfield House, 256 Banbury Road, Oxford, U.K. ( nag@ucl-cs.ARPA will also reach him sometimes) If any one wants any more details of the Tools available or mounting it under Unix - feel free to mail me.
