I do not have the CVC. My statement re legality of motorcycle riders
passing the stationary cars by driving between lanes was based on the
statement of a CHP officer who was instructor for a traffic school
I attended to clean up a ticket.

The explanation for the reason - re overheating of engines - was
provided by a biker. Either way, I am not a biker and personally
don't like being startled by a bike zipping past my left elbow.
