Yes, anomalies like the compatability of 5 1/4" disk formats between
the Ampro and the SB180 occur from time to time.  Has something
to do with the same person doing the BIOS (in this case, Joe Wright).
The government is aware of this problem and is planning to budget $1M for
a study to decide what to do about it.

I can really vouch for it.  I do all development on my main system,
use T3MASTER/T3SERVER to transfer files to the Ampro, and then litterally
put the Ampro disk on the SB180 and read/use it.  Works like a charm.
