Message-ID: <426@aero.ARPA> Date: Wed, 11-Sep-85 18:32:54 EDT Article-I.D.: aero.426 Posted: Wed Sep 11 18:32:54 1985 Date-Received: Wed, 18-Sep-85 03:32:03 EDT Reply-To: warack@aero.UUCP (Chris Warack) Organization: The Discordian Society Lines: 33 [ouch] In the latest issue of MacWorld(Oct), I came across an add for the 'Mercury', a modem by Computer Friends, a company based in Portland, OR. It claims to be 100% Hayes Smartmodem (TM) compatable and is a 300/1200 Baud modem. It only costs $265 list [$3 shipping and $12 for Mac cable]. It also has an 18 month warrenty. I called the toll free number (1-800-547-3303) and they say the try to ship same day using UPS [Blue if requested], and that the product is available now. Has anyone else dealt with this company or this product? I'd be interested in any info [good or bad]. I'll summarize mail responses. BTW, all you dreamers checkout the new Hyperdrive 20. It's also advertised. If the Hyperdrive 10 is ~$2000, how much is the 20? IF I had the money ... Chris Computer Friends 6415 SW Canyon Ct.
