	Hi -
Well, gang, it's been awhile since I've posted and now here I am
with something totally non-controversial. I just got a ferret, and I
need a name for him. I have some in mind, and I got some suggestions
from some friends, but the more to choose from the better. So I'm asking
for names names names. I figured this would be a good place to ask for
them, since this is where I post most often, and a lot of really
interesting people seem to follow this news group, some of whom will
hopefully come up with interesting names. Please no flames about this
not being the appropriate newsgroup - God knows there have been lots of
discussions that had nothing to do with being single going on here.
Besides, hopefully a this article won't promote a discussion.
Now, if you know very little about ferrets (I did before I got
one), they are in the family of otters and minks. They're long, and to
quote a friend of mine "look like a stetched out, boneless chipmunk."
They aren't coloured like a chipmunk though. Mine is rather dark. He's
very frisky. I haven't had him long so I really can't tell you much more
about him.
As far as names go, I'm partial to Greek and Italian names, and
anything music or literature oriented, but I'm certainly willing to
consider anything. It should ideally be rather short (one or two
syllables). I've already had the following suggested to me:
	Flash
	Fletch
	Felix
	Frank
	Fang
	Elizabeth Ferret Browning

I'm seriously considering the first two, but if you really like
one of the above, you can cast a vote for it as well as send in your
own. (Note: Elizabeth Ferret Browning doesn't stand much of a chance
since it's a male ferret.) If enough people are interested in knowing
what everyone else on the net would name a ferret then I'll post a list
of all the names that I receive. If not, I'll just post something
telling everyone what name I chose. I'll accept names for about one
week.

	cheers -

Note: There are no prizes for this I'm afraid. Just the satisfaction of
knowing that you helped to name a ferret.
