State University, Raleigh Lines: 26 Two Problems: Problem 1: Diskettes from my 1541 cannot be read by my friend's machines. I have used the alignment- checking routine that someone kindly posted. My drive heads seem aligned by that routine. I also checked the drive speed. Here was an interesting result. My machine operates at 283rpm while my friend's machines operate between 300 and 315 rmp. Is the speed the problem? Problem 2: If the rmp is the culprit, I know how to change the rpm from a previous posting, but how do I salvage the old diskettes? Programs are easy with the tape drive. But will the other assembler, sequential, and relative files be so easy? Bill Chimiak
