Looks like the corroding wires are a standard
in Japanese cars.  I had three wires corrode
away.  One in the left tail light, one in the
harness that the alternator runs into. and one
right from the output of the alternator.

I don't know what kind of fabrication short
cuts they use, but the results are poor!
