We have many Volksmodems.  They seem to work fairly well if you
don't try doing anything fancy and don't require complete capability.
The one that we have hooked up to our Sun and use for dial-in/dial-out
doesn't not work very well for this purpose.  They seem to be fixing
some of the problems.  For instance, the old ones couldn't send a break
character the news ones can.
