The new testament is NOT the only book that has been around for 2000
years. Believe me. The Chinese were civilized long before westerners
got their act together. Not to mention that the new testament is a
revised addition. G-d alone knows how mwny interpretations there are.
Each religious group has its own point of view and "rewording" for
individual needs is not by any means new. Mr. Anderson, some people
do not believe that there is a hell. Some do not believe in heaven.
We are all free(in this country) to believe as we wish, and it is
up to each individual to make his/her own choices. If everyone
would concentrate on making this world a little better rather
than preaching the greatness of his/her religion life would
be a lot more pleasant. Faith, I do agree, is a very important
aspect of our lives. The point is to keep things in perspective.
Keep these comments where they should be, in net.religion, or
form your own group: net.praise.the.lord. But please don't tell
me that I must make choices I don't believe in. We both know what
happens when religious dogma and power comes together (A.K.A.
Falwell) I challenge you to read some history about the crusades
or the inquisition. I know that the man who carried the cross
would not be pleased. Co-exist in peace. We are all human...........
                     Halleluyah!!
