 Well, a company called Phillps-Tech (I think) is selling Radar Detector 
(@ about $150.00 each).
It says in their ad 'Not FCC approved'.
So it can't be all that illegal, and I know they are a legit company because
I've bought a microwave TV anteena from
them.
