I am involved in a small (~25-30 people) alternative group here in Boulder,
Colorado, which is part of the Havurah movement. The group gets together
for weekly Shabbat rituals and potluck dinners (vegetarian, so that everyone
is happy). Additionally, we also have occasional retreats and teachers,
speakers, etc. The attitude is combining traditional Jewish ritual with
"new age", creative values (eg meditation, music, dance, experiential
torah ...). I find that the group provides a refreshing way to integrate
Judaism with the rest of my life, community, etc. which sometimes doesn't
seem to happen with a traditional synagogue.

Several questions:
- are any of you folks involved in similar groups?
- if so, want to talk about it?
- how does your group fit in with the overall Jewish community?
- age groups? Married/single?
- how do you deal with the organizational aspects
  ($$, leadership, growth, ..)?
