I always love these arguments. I went to public school, I remember
the teacher forcing us* to sing those songs, I remember being forced
to sing christian songs even tho I wasn't a christian. What I
*DONT* remember are any supreme court police standing in the room
or any lawyers or anything making sure they didn't violate those
'rights'. How come I suspect that unless a student's parent's were
vehement enough to take it to court (and good luck after that in that
school district) and fight with every penny they got that nothing less
woulda made a difference...wake up, those teachers and their bosses and
their school boards and their town councils are probably to this day
doing the same thing, aint no one gonna stop them, they think they're right
and to hell with those 'pinkos in washington'.

*it isn't hard to force a 9 year old in a classroom if the teacher
understands just a little and has a slightly psycho-sadistic streak --
ya know, like 'will johnny please come up to the front of the room and
explain to the whole class why he doesn't like
america/christians/theboyscouts', ugh, gives me the shudders all over again.
