Garrison Keillor appeared at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia
last evening (9/19) and it was a real treat for shy persons from all
over the Delaware Valley. The appearance benefited the local public
radio station, WHYY 91FM, which carries PHC at 10:30 AM on Sunday as
well as Saturday evenings.

GK came on stage dressed in a tuxedo and, after appropriate introductions
which included a tribute from the Mayor, proceeded to read from "Lake Wobegon
Days" and reminisce about life in this small town in Minnesota. He sang a
few songs with the audience and answered questions about happenings in
L.W. He also gave us a short lesson on how to speak Minnesotan. Enjoyable?
You bet, and a heck of a deal.

All in all it was a delightful two hours and a memorable experience for East
Coast dweller who are Minnesotans at heart.
