>Peter Baruda " These are NOT "two very good examples of how "rational"

Actually I wish you were right, however Rev. Falwell is one of the more
media oriented and therefore one of the more influential "christian"
leaders.

>Rich Keir "Dave Bottom who seems to hate catholics"

Sorry Rich but it just ain't true. I hate religious bygots, Rev. Jerry,
Rev. Moon etc. dangerous lunatics all. Catholics are ok, I was raised by
one. That doesn't mean that I agree with the practices they abscribe to
or the fantasies (my opinion) they believe to be true. Or what they
believe *my* children should be taught. I feel the same way about any
religion and not just christian ones.

I'm willing to comprimise, however, if they (religious schools) teach
evolution then I feel it would only be fair to teach creationism in
public schools, but only on those terms. I also think that creationism
should be taught not just from the Old Testament perspective but from as
many scriptures as is possible. A rounded education n'cest pa? Maybe
Edith Hamilton could do a mythology book that includes the major
creation myths. But since most public schools are politcally influenced this
probably will not happen.

Lastly don't worry about DEC. 3 people out of 70,000 or so that you
believe are somewhat irrational doesn't make a company good or bad, it
means that we have people working here. This implies that some different
opinions will surface as they do in any large group. Also keep in mind
that since Digital has the largest number of nodes (and users) on any
net in the world, you may hear more from DEC than any other company.

Lastly, I lost the reference, but something to the effect that New
Hampshire was evil for selling "drugs" at state liquor stores to raise
money. *All* states generate revenue throught the sale of "drugs"
(alcohol) in the form of liquor taxes. If the northeastern US eliminates
the middle man to get more money per sale so what? This practice is not
confined to NH but most of the New England states use this method of
revenue generation. So what?

I won't dignify the rest of his posting with a reply.
