My job is making some graphics applications on UNIX. (In fact, I'm not
interested in computer graphics so much. My principal interest is
making system programs such as text editors, language processors, other
development tools, etc. *sigh*)

Most of makers manufacturing graphic terminals offer graphic subroutine
packages for their terminals. In usual cases, those packages are
written in FORTRAN. However, it is said that there aren't good FORTRAN
compilers on UNIX. I think that true.

I heard about a FORTRAN - C translator named "FORTRIX-C" (Rapitech
Systems, Inc.) and am planning to use this software product. Does
anyone have an experience of using it? Does anyone know about its
capability? Any information about it (or other FORTRAN - C
translators) is welcome. Thank you.
