interesting trivia re this movie--
the character who puts as much as he can get of his pet rat into his mouth
(yum!) is flea from the red hot chili peppers.

one of the things that irked me about this movie is that the music was
minimalized--it hardly showed music being involved in the kids's lives at all!
there was that one party/slamming scene and the live performances but they
didn't show them buying records or hanging out at record stores or playing
their own music or putting on their own basement shows or even listening to
alternative radio stations!  this is a major oversight on dear penelope's 
part.  i liked the movie anyway, though.

by the by. . .
_despirate_teenage_lovedolls_ is a home movie by redd kross which is supposed
to be good but i havn't bugged my buddy with the vcr enough to let me see it
yet.. .  .    .
