In discussing things with my lawyer, I found out that Illinois
law recognizes adoption of adults by adults, but the only
relationship recognized is that of parent/child, and
in order to be adopted, the parties have to live in the
same household for two years previous to the adoption.

(I was asking because I'm an orphan without brothers
or sisters.  I was wondering if I might construct
a family, legally.)
