Our pediatrician gives parents a pamphlet (which I have misplaced) 
before their child is due for his first innoculations.  It explains
the chance of possible side-effects (they are really *very* rare),
explains which children should *not* receive certain immunizations
(some of them may be contra-indicated in rare instances), and what
happens when a large number of parents don't get their kids immunized.
(Yes, there have been modern day local epidemics of the "outdated"
killer diseases.)

Needless to say, my son is getting his innoculations right on schedule!
