Are there any problems with running 2.9 binaries in compatibility
mode under 4.2? Of course, split I/D and overlaid executables won't
work, but are there any other problems?

We've been experimenting with using mkfs, dump, and restor from v7 to
maintain filesystems on an 11/44 from a VAX and things seem to work ok.
Has anyone been doing this on a regular basis and if so, have any problems
been encountered?

We'd like to use the same approach if we ever switch to 2.9 on the 44
and thus the question of the 2.9 binaries via compat on the VAX.

					Thanks in advance,
