Before you take Cline's advice, make sure you've got the polarities
right on the cartridge connector, and also make sure you're
using an approrpriately equalized input.

Despite the repeated diatribes about Shure, it's clear beyond any
shadow of a doubt to me that the only thing wrong with most
Shure's is the price-- They're too cheap to have snob appeal, unless
you actually paid list for it.
