   I am looking for a complete micro system that has these features:
      * Two floppy drives
      * RS232 or a 1200baud modem (along w/ terminal software)
      * A good editor (other software would be very welcome) and
        download/upload capabilities.
      * A reasonable monitor w/ 80 column display.
   As I am a student I cannot afford anything really expensive. A friend
saw the Toshiba T300 in a mail order, complete w/ monitor for a rather
attractive price (around $1,000).
   Do any netters have good/bad experiences with the T300? I am concerned
primarily with the quality of the machine, ruggedness (though I do not intend
to use it to hammer nails), company support, etc. As a secondary concern, just
how compatible is it to the PC? There are lots of public domain software
around which I would not mind to use.
   As a last comment, if any of you have alternative micros to suggest please
do so, I am nowhere near a final decision yet, so your suggestions will be
greatly appreciated.
   Please respond with e-mail. I will be glad to summarize in the net if there
is sufficient interest.
