Lines: 28 <<>> Hi! A friend of mine is just starting to play with synthesizers, and he just bought an Akai AX-80. He asked me to post a few general questions to the net: 1) Has anyone seen the new Casio CZ-5000? Any general comments about the machine? 2) I've seen the Yamaha DX-7 and liked it a lot, but wasn't in the mood to plunk down that much cash for my first synthesizer. Is there a way to get DX-7 functionality from my AX-80? (I saw something about a "DX-7 in-a-box". Any specifics?) 3) Is the DX-7 considered the "best" in this price class? Does Yamaha have any plans for a new machine, since the DX-7 has been around a while? 4) Other AX-80 owners: how do you like yours? Any tips for a novice? Thanks for any information.
