For those of you in need of schematics, repair info etc. and have
trouble getting it from the manufacturer--Yes, Howard W. Sams, Inc.
does still publish "photofacts" for the TV and Entertainment Equipment
repair trades--that includes TV's, Stereos and VCR's (They now publish
"Computerfacts" repair guides for popular pc's also--so far Apple II,
Commodore and IBM PC). For those of you not familiar with photofacts,
they include schematics (by Sams, usually not by the manufacturer) repair
suggestions (i.e. if this doesn't work try measuring/replacing...)
Information on what is available (according to the brochure I recieved
yesterday) may be obtained from (800) 428 SAMS .
(In the past their service has always been exceptionally fast--I've
received items in less than a week from the date of order--for a publisher,
this compares to usual delays of 6- 8 wks from most in the industry)
