Some time ago someone posted a message asking about image enhancement.
I haven't been able to find the article to respond. The caller had used
digital techniques to reproduce the writing in an old book (I believe) and
was searching for a public domain package for enhancing that image. I
passed that question on to ROOTS-BBS and the suggestion is :
" --try the book 'Digital Image Processing' by Raphael Gonzalez published
by Addison Wesley. It covers the basics and has a couple of Fortran
programs. Recommendhigh frequency emphasis with contrast enhancement to
start.".
I hope the original poster is still around and I would like to hear more
about what he was doing and how he did it!
