One wonders how you can leave yourself so wide open.

Unsupported assertion, however: whether or not we (I?) (you) are surprised
is immaterial.  I'd be curious why you figure that a vote would/should be
so swayed by the men.  If the opinions are that far apart, maybe we should
take a second look at the impacts, since they might conceivably be very
disparate, too, which would re-raise the equity questions everybody's been
wrestling with.
