Subject: double density floppies on a 7300?

Has anyone been able to get a 7300 to use floppies in double-density
mode? As it is, they can only store a little over 300K. I tried

  1. changing the file /usr/lib/iv/FDnl, the file used by the floppy
formatting program iv, by changing a line that said 'singledensity'
to one that said 'doubledensity', but iv did not recognize the
     new command word.

  2. deleting the line that says 'singledensity'. in this case, the
floppy is formatted with no complaints, but mount will not
mount it (saying 'no such device', I believe), so I can't use
it. Is it possible that 'mount' checks the disk and only
     recognizes single-density ones?

Any ideas?
