So you're saying that when choosing between two women, you'll pick the
one that is more attractive.  If they are equally attractive, you'll choose
the one who is less threatening.  And that looking good makes a woman
attractive to you, unless she looks too good, in which case she is
threatening.  It seem that for maximum appeal to you, a woman has to
figure out where your threshold of threateningness is, and then wear
makeup, sexy clothes, or not as required to bring her up to, but not
above this level.  If she's below it, she loses because some other woman
will be more attractive, if she's above it she's unapproachable.
What a double bind.

Anyway, it's all beside the point.  I think that when most people talk about
"preferring women without makeup", they mean that they prefer a woman
wearing no makeup compared to THE SAME WOMAN wearing makeup.  In other words,
the comment is about whether makeup increases the woman's attractiveness.
This is the only measure that means anything to the woman.  And it seems
clear that you believe that makeup makes a woman more, not less, attractive.
