         Seven Layer Casserole

Layer the following in a 2 qt. casserole dish:

     1 - 1 cup uncooked rice (use quick-cooking rice)

2 - 1 cup whole kernel corn, drained

3 - sprinkle with salt & pepper; pour over 1 can (8oz.) tomato
         sauce and 1/2 can water

4 - 1/2 cup each finely chopped onion and green pepper

5 - 3/4 lb. uncooked lean ground beef

6 - sprinkle with salt & pepper; pour over 2nd can (8oz.) tomato
         sauce and 1/4 can water

7 - cover meat with 4 strips of bacon, cut in half

Cover and bake for 1 hour at 350. Uncover and bake 30 minutes longer,
until bacon is crisp.

This has been a family favorite for as long as I can remember. It goes
together quite quickly, but don't forget it takes 1-1/2 hours to cook.
