Summary:

Rod Carew about two weeks ago talked about hitting #3000 on the road,
he thought would be ok, except he hoped it wasn't in Canada.
Maybe he was joking and maybe he wasn't, I don't know but
the Herald-Tribune (the Califonia paper i think) and it was
mentioned in the Toronto paper (Carew inults Canada).
Now apparently Carew said it was a joke, but he is't talking to
the media anymore. I do feel a bit insulted, much because
Canada has had its role to play in baseball, there are a few Canadians
in the Hall of Fame. Babe Ruth hit his first home run in Toronto in the
International league and the two International league teams in Toronto
and Montreal have seen there fair share of major league talent.
