With all due respect to opinions expressed about tilting
tables and crosscutting limitations of the Shopsmith, I
dissagree. On the contrary, I use the SS primarily as a
table saw ( including jointing and molding ) and have NO
difficulties in this regard. I posted complaints that I
heard before buying but did not mean to imply that I found
them justified. I have crosscut some ridiculous sized and
shaped pieces with little difficulty and good results.
As for price it should be very easy to get a SS for <$999
most seasons. For what its worth.
