I don't know if anyone want's to finish it, but last year I wrote a
68000 cross-assembler in BASIC (!!!) for my C64(!!!). It does the first
pass, including: Label resolution; Syntax checking w/ ~comprehensive error
messages; Addressing mode parsing. It also has a (stupid) built-in visual
editor. I have since copied it onto a friend's TI Pro, where it needs a couple
of mod.s to run -- I need to change the screen control codes and a cursor poke.
With those changes made, it will run on a vanilla IBM. Eventually I may finish
it, but I don't have the time or facilities at this time. I will mail source
code to anyone that wants it, w/ the usual public domain notes.
