I had a similar problem with the person who lived next door to me (in a
college dorm).  He and his "friend" used to turn on the stereo  at all
hours of the night and then proceed to drown out the music with their
raucous caterwauling.:-).  This went on for a couple of weeks while I
pondered my options, and then I went to him one day and said, "Your f*cking
is keeping me awake at night."  He was very apologetic, so for the rest of
the semester he turned up his stereo loudly enough to cover up their noc-
turnal activities.  Not much of an improvement, alas.  :-).  I was finally
driven into the arms of a woman I knew to escape....
