I'm not disagreeing, Seth (I think lots of people don't know
what they want!)  But I think we can safely say that men don't
know what women want either.  For one thing, women are almost
certainly not homogeneous in their desires.  From what I have
observed (in myself and others -- this is not a sweeping 
generalization, so if you don't think it applies to you, don't
flame me!), women always think they want nice men, but for
some reason, they are attracted to not-so-nice men at first.
At some point, though, almost every woman gets really sick
of these shitheads and then (hopefully) she can meet a nice
guy and get on with her life.   It's just that if a nice
guy meets a woman before she's hit this point, it's probably
hopeless (again, this is just from my experience, but I've
seen it happen again and again).
