It's because if they're tall enough, we get a nice soft place to
rest our heads while standing up... :-) :-) :-)

At least for me, it would be a nice change.  Sadly, all of my SOs
have been shorter (some dramatically so!), and I'm getting a permanent
crick in my neck from looking down.  Subconsciously, it feels like
a position of dominance (an atavism no doubt), and that's uncomfortable
sometimes...
