I have been trying to interface a Mannesman Tally printer
to the serial port of a VT131 terminal. The printer will
work but any escape codes sent from the main frame get
filtered before they reach the printer. I know that the
codes are correctly sent by the main frame and the printer
is OK (Everything works fine printing through a VT240, a
BBC micro and Cybernex XL87M; typeface changes, subscript
and superscript).

Reading the manual for the VT131 seems to indicate that the
terminal is working normally and the problem is designed
in! Unlike the VT240, the 131 does not seem to have a way
to switch out escape code interpretation.

Is there a solution to this problem or is the best answer
to replace the terminal?
