Tried to install "search" on our vax running BSD 4.2 without
the -DINET option (I'm not superuser). I invoked searchd
then ran search -- and it hung forever. ^C wouldn't get
me out either, so I hung-up, tried again, same thing.

searchd was still alive, by the way. I sent it a kill -INT
to clean up, but I don't know what I did wrong.

I didn't install the posted fixes -- is that my problem?
