Gee, Rich, last I knew Lehrer was very much alive and teaching
music (having forsaken math) at some college or other. A few
years ago there were some folks trying to coax him out of
retirement, but he said something like "It's hard to do satire
in a world where Henry Kissinger gets nominated for the Nobel Peace
Prize." Wish I knew the exact wording. Wish he'd perform again too--
his command of language in song topped Cole Porter's. But he won't,
so I guess I'll have to settle for memorabilia. How about it, TC,
have any good stories?
