The latest version of the Norton Utilities (version 3) include a program
called wipefile which writes zeros all over a file you want to clobber.
The extremely destructive can use wipedisk which does the same to a whole
disk.

If you wanted to wipe out files every time they were deleted, I suppose
you could trap the unlink system call and write all over the file, but
it'd seem easier to me to use wipefile on the files that are worth erasing.

Alternatively, you could spend the $100 on a lock for the room with the
computer in it.
