Off the top of my head, there are 2 things to watch out for: 1) 4.2bsd spooling TranScript makes use of the 4.2 printer software. We use heavily modified MDQS software so we needed to convince it to talk to an MDQS queuer. You will need to change all programs which set up arguments for the printer queueing program on your system. As I recall, at least one is a shell script. All in all, it wasn't a difficult task. You also may have to write/modify the programs which actually print on the LaserWriter. 2) Long filenames The Transcript software makes use of long filenames in the .afm (Adobe Font Metric) files. You need to make a few minor changes in enscript.c and psdit.c so that they use shorter filenames. I also remember that there was something in the etc directory of the Transcript source which was too long (something to do with setting the printer name). @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ Scott L.
