The subject line should read "What people want".  Yes I agree with Seth that
many people ask for what they think they want, and it isn't necessarily what
they really want.  

There are some exceptions though.  In my experience we are very good at knowing
what we want when our "emotional/rational" balance is slewed to the
emotional side.

Now this is, perhaps, an interesting diversion of the current emotions/choices
debate - can strong emotions affect our desires?  can we control this?
