On the last Mahavishu album, the bassist was Jonas Hellborg. He also
played when I say the concert in Boston. He was a highlight of the
show. McLaughlin played too much using the Synclavier II, and the
saprano sax was painfull because it was over amplified and severly
distorted. Does McLaughlin always overdrive the amplifiers?

It is heartening to see another McLaughlin fan. I rarely see any
musicians discussed here that can an instrument well, let alone
master one the way John McLaughlin can.

I too am sick to death of KB, although I did go out and buy Dreaming
and like it. Do people really have to post all the lyrics? My revenge
is all the John McLaughlin written lyrics off my dozen or so albums:

So there! I don't claim McLaughlin is the god of guitar either.
Paco DeLucia blew him and Al Dimeola away when they played together,
but he can play enough notes for a half dozen punk/pop guitarists!
