Now, Now, Doug.  Don't get so hot and bothered.  Just make up a one line
shell script (you could call it srt or something worse) and put it in a
directory in your PATH.  If you have USG Unix (I don't know 'bout Berkeley)
the script should say something like

exec tr '[g-l][a-f][s-x][m-r]zy[G-L][A-F][S-X][M-R]ZY' '[a-z][A-Z]'
# (The exec is optional; it saves you from an unnecessary fork [or knife, or
# spoon :-)])

and now by piping the article through that to pg or some other such fancy stuff
you can see what you're missing.  (Not much.)
