Message-ID: <7500005@pbear.UUCP> Date: Thu, 8-Aug-85 17:07:00 EDT Article-I.D.: pbear.7500005 Posted: Thu Aug 8 17:07:00 1985 Date-Received: Mon, 12-Aug-85 04:12:00 EDT Lines: 17 Nf-ID: #N:pbear:7500005:000:813 Nf-From: pbear!peterb Aug 8 17:07:00 1985 I'm booting vanilla BSD4.2 on a vanilla VAX-11/730 with an R80 drive, and I have run into problems configuring the kernel to recognize the DMF-32 that's on it. 4.2 finds the controller on the unibus, and I've hacked up /etc/ttys to include ttyh[0-7], and 'MAKEDEV dmf0', and edited /etc/ttytype to include the terminals. when a terminal is included and a 'kill -1 1' executed to rebuild the getty's has been executed, no header comes up... And when a terminal has been disabled from /etc/ttys, and kill -1 1 executed, any redirection to/from the terminal results in the program hanging, and the error "/dev/ttyh?: Cannot create" appears on interupt(even when the super user is the UID)...
