They're too huge a market to ignore, so things appropriate to their age group tend to appear as they need them. The example that brought this to mind is that Levi Strauss & Co. just decided to come out with jeans with "a skosh more room". I hardly think it coincidental that most baby-boomers are now middle-aged, beginning to spread a little (on average), and in need of such. This may also relate to the current boom in health clubs and exercise equipment. I bet the pshrink business starts to pick up in a few years when all those mid-life crises start coming home to roost ...
