Yes, and then again, no.  Richard Bach (*Illusions*) writes:
    "You are never given a wish without also being given
     the power to make it true.  You may have to work for 
     it, however."

The weakness I see in the human potentialists is wholehearted 
acceptance of the first statement, and somewhat less acceptance
of the second statement.  They are great at empowering people to
look beyond self-imposed boundaries in setting goals, but I've
not been much impressed by the framework to support the planning
and execution necessary to attain the goal.   (But I'm having
difficulties with discipline in my life just now, so maybe this
viewpoint is a little warped).

Bach also writes:  "Argue for your limitations, and sure enough,
they're yours."
