Lines: 37 Approved: jordan@greipa.UUCP Article: 8:3 This is in case some of you have not seen this in one of the magazines. There is a potential problem with certain Ruger Mark II .22 pistols. The specific models are: Ruger Mark II Standard, automatic pistol (4 3/4 barrel, blued only), SN from 210-92816 to 210-94772. All Ruger Mark II pistols, standard, target and bull barrel models, (blued only), SN from 211-28500 to 211-40000. It seems there is a possibility that pistols in these groups may fire if the trigger is pulled when the safety is on "S" and then the safety is moved to "F". If you have a Ruger in these groups, please find a copy of the notice (I saw it in The American Rifleman, August issue, page 2). It describes a safe procedure to use to determine if your weapon will act in this manner, and where to send it for free repairs. They say ship it UPS. I wonder if UPS will accept firearms from private citizens? Anybody have any experience? Mike Graham @ AT&T, Atlanta Ga. akgua!mlg (404-447-3176) -- Jordan K.
