Colleagues are running both 4.2bsd and VMS on a VAX 11/750.
They'd like to have both the VMS
	$ show time
and the 4.2bsd
	% date
commands report local time--without having to go through time-setting gyrations
whenever they change from running one system to running the other.

If you have the changes to 4.2bsd that let it work with a time-of-year register
that's in VMS format, I'd appreciate hearing from you.
