Let me tell you about my experience with someone who could have written that book. A woman I had just started to date began doing things like cleaning my apartment, bringing me expensive gifts, taking on all my hobbies and interests and viewpoints, etc. There were several strange incidents also: she got "sick" and had me take her to the emergency room a couple of times. Each time, they found nothing more than a simple cold. These incidents seemed to coincide with my wanting a little space in the relationship. In a fairly short time, I figured out that this wasn't going to work and ended the relationship. One week later she told me she was pregnant! She also said she planned to have the baby. I went through a lot of agony at this point. I resisted the pressure to get married. This was fortunate since she was NOT pregnant after all. When I learned this, I broke off all communication with this poor, sick person. She was beyond any help I could give her without seriosly hurting myself. Several months later, I observed her with a new guy and apparently putting the same sort of "moves" on him. I learned a lot from this experience! -- Carl Yaffey at AT&T Bell Laboratories Columbus, Ohio 614-860-3399 cbosgd!cbdkc1!cly
