If you can get to an Indian food store, you can probably get it for
about half the price of the boxed stuff (last time I bought some here
in Chicago, it was ~ $0.65 a pound for a five pound lot).

I have heard two stories regarding Basmati Rice.  One is that it is
a whole grain rice which is naturally white.  The other is that it
is parboiled (which is supposed to drive all the nutrients inside
before it is milled).  Any one out there with first-hand knowledge?
