Covering the bottle with a wet sock does not work in the East during typical humid hot summer days. In fact, here one gets completely soaked in perspiration. It runs off my chin onto the bike. It is necessary to wash the bike after every ride to prevent hardware from rusting out. Washington and Oregon get bad press; it is actually quite dry there in the summer compared to here, even the western part, to say nothing of the high desert in eastern Oregon or in the Yakima Valley. -- George Tomasevich, ihnp4!twitch!grt AT&T Bell Laboratories, Holmdel, NJ
