Lines: 19 This is a repeat posting. I don't think it got out last time. My wife just bought a '85 Toyota Corolla, front wheel drive, gas engine. I am looking for some net wisdom regarding servicing, etc. 1) There's nothing in the manual about greasing the front end, and I don't see any grease fittings. So? 2) What's up with tuneups. No points? Therefore no dwell to set? How about timing. Is it still done by rotating the distributor. 3) Are the valves self adjusting? 4) The dealer said Toyota oil filters must be used? I did this for the first oil change, but they are expensive? Worth it? 5) The manual says snow tires must be used on all 4 wheels? True, or are snows on the front sufficient? 6) Who can tell me how to quiet that buzzer that goes off when the engine is started before she buckles her seat belt? Any other suggestions. I want the car to last at least as long as her Valiant (blew the engine at 135K). After all it cost 6x as much.
