      Datacopy in Mountain View CA makes some very nice scanning cameras; the
newest models are 3400 x 4400 pixels x 256 grey levels.  They have a little
desktop flatbed unit for about $4000 at 1728 x 2200 pixels, but it is, I think,
black and white only.  The camera types look like photographic enlargers and
are in fact mounted on big Canon copy stands.  IBM PC interfaces are available.
