Our increasing consumption of meat may be a contributing factor to our having bigger bodies, but what has it done to the development of our consciousness? Is man any wiser in the ways of the soul today than he was over 2,000 years ago? All I see is that man has become increasingly expert in poisoning his body and causing unnecessary suffering from stomach cancer, colon cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure, stress, etc., etc., etc. It's been said that a meat-based diet is a major contributing factor in man's aggressiveness and war-like behavior (I know that there will be disagreement on this point). Man is not designed to be a meat-eater. There are many studies and books out detailing the differences between the bodies of carnivores, omnivores, and herbivores. Man is much closer to the herbivore in design. Gita Devi
