They had two left in stock. Other Caldor's in the region were out of stock. No 1571 or 1902. They wrote a raincheck for those. Like Pat, I am impressed with the quality of the hardware, and the completeness of the supplied manual. They did an excellent job with that book! C64 mode works fine, and I haven't encountered the "Letter Q" bug that some people on Compuserve were complaining about. My machine language programs work fine in C64 mode. I even tried a few C64 BASIC programs in 128 mode, and they worked fine. So converting non-machine language programs from 64 to 128 mode for the purpose of taking advantage of the 7.0 BASIC should be no problem. CP/M boots fine on the 1541. Not the 15 seconds claimed on the 1571, but not excrutiatingly long. Wish they had supplied TERM for CP/M. Dunno how I will be able to get MEX downloaded to the 128 without it. You have to use a diskette formatted with the CP/M FORMAT command (not COPYSYS as the manual states). I downloaded MEX740.COM in 64 mode but it can't be PIP or executed from CP/M. If anyone has a copy of MEX740.COM and MEX.HLP loaded onto a CP/M formatted diskette, I should would appreciate a copy. Paul MacDonald 617-493-3439
