Four months ago I wrote about a speeding ticket in Ohio--my
cruise control said 55 and the Ohio State Patrol said 72 or
something. I had some suggestions, mostly to fight the ticket,
and to have my speedometer calibrated (the car was new--a Dodge
Daytona turbo). I paid the ticket (like someone said, going back
to Ohio is bad enough--but to go to court to do it?).

This is a follow-up. I told my friendly Dodge dealer about the
speding ticket. They supposedly checked the speedometer. They
told me there was nothing wrong. Either I looked at my
speedometer wrong, or the patrolman's radar was off.

So last week I got another ticket. I knew I was below 55 (I saw
the cop sitting there--this time it was Indiana State Patrol). I
had the speedometer checked elsewhere!!

It is 15 mph off!!! (No wonder I have been getting to work on
time!) I have been speeding all this time. I am considering
taking this a little further. I think Dodge should pay for my
ticket, don't you? (I won't get any points on my license--the
ISP believes my story. The Indiana ticket won't even cost me
anything. Too bad Ohio doesn't feel the same.)

What do you think? Should I call Lee Iacocca? This is an unsafe
car--or it would be if it didn't have such a superior driver
behind the wheel :-)
