                      Abstract

A flexible system has been built with pro-
grammable digital signal processors (DSPs) ca-
pable of performing a variety of different
real-time algorithms and which utilizes a re-
cently designed architecture that is extendi-
   ble for multiprocessor applications. This
device is modular and expandable and en-
courages experimentation with new methods of
   computation-intensive music synthesis which
previously could only be realized with,
   special-purpose high-speed hardware. This
seminar is actually a presentation of a paper
to be given at the International Computer
