I'm mot sure what is going on in the east coast, but the PP clinics I've been to out here did not advocate birth control as anything other than a LAST RESORT! Prevention was advocated, as was planning! What I would like to know is if Matt has actually been in one of the clinics there? If he has and has first hand check out the policies of more than ONE clinic then there is reason for advocating a policy change with PP. Eliminating them does NO ONE any good. There is a vital need filled by having such clinics available. Too expect the services to solve all the problems of those troubled enough to come to them is UNREALISTIC though. PP is one of the only sources of free, non-restricted sources of information and choice on a particularily touchy subject. To remove it just puts us further back into the dark ages. As a woman that has worked hard to get where she has I resent the further limitation of information I need in order to live my life. Elimination of such institutes as Planned Parenthood WILL NOT solve the problems teenagers, or anyone, have in relation to their sexual behavior -- be they a result of societies problems or not. To remove informationn and aid only leads to FURTHERING THE MYTHS AND PROBLEMS. IGNORANCE OF SOMETHING DOES NOT MEAN IT WILL GO AWAY! It is the right of choice I will fight to see preserved. Planned parenthood may not be perfect all over, but it's the best we got. If it needs to be changed, so be it. That is the way of life - nothing is perfect. So, give us proof of your accusations please. Then something may be done. At this point I find the statements dangerously inadequate. ----------------------------------------------------------- Pamela Pincha-Wagener (The usual company disclaimer....) -----------------------------------------------------------
