Teaching you to use logical reasoning instead of taking things on faith? Learning the scientific method of objective analysis? Why, all of that is SECULAR HUMANISM!!!!! Because it leads you to conclusions that contradict religious thinking. Thus, religionists feel it should be banned, to prevent people from thinking about such things. Isn't that clear? What's that? It's just the conclusions you reach using these methods that you don't like?
