Message-ID: <762@asgb.UUCP> Date: Thu, 22-Aug-85 19:04:25 EDT Article-I.D.: asgb.762 Posted: Thu Aug 22 19:04:25 1985 Date-Received: Sun, 25-Aug-85 02:22:39 EDT Organization: Burroughs Corp. ASG, Boulder Colo. Lines: 24 *** MESSAGE YOUR REPLACE WITH THIS LINE *** I have been given the task of evaluating IBM's TopView environment and toolkit. I have had no problem in getting it running on our IBM PC's and clones thereof, but would rather take it home and fiddle with it on my PCjr. The package DOES SAY that it won't run on the PCjr, but as my machine is fairly souped up, I thought I'd try it out anyway. My machine is configured thus: PCjr enhanced (128K main memory and 1 DSDD drive) Drive two (DSDD) by Rapport 384K total memory (128K main + 256K on Rapport expansion card) The TopView package will boot, but keystrokes go unrecognized. If any of you have succeeded in getting TopView to recognize PCjr keystrokes, I would be delighted in hearing from you. Would IBM go against their own credo and make direct calls into the BIOS ROM???? I am not afraid to learn to use debug if that is what it will take. I just haven't gotten familiar enough with PC BIOS calls to know what to look for.
