There is an organization entitled the "International Radio Consultative Committee" (CCIT), one part of which is concerned with international standards for mobile radio communications, including standards for packet radio. You might have heard of another similar committee, the CCITT. Indeed, CCIR and CCITT have a few joint committees. Also, there are a few commercial companies using packet data communications protocals over terrestrial radio links, in particular, **COMMERCIAL** Mobile Data International, Inc., the world leader in mobile data communications.
