Oh, of course living alone isn't unnatural...unnatural implies
freakish to me. (An example, you ask? Hmmm...let's see: unnatural
is watching the moon rise from behind your sofa....)

Anyway, speaking purely for myself, the desire to live alone
is quite strong, but it can be quenched quite unexpectedly.

For instance:
       (a) I lived with roommates (male and female) - I
didn't like it, rather live alone.
       (b) Lived with an XSO - I didn't like it, rather
           live alone.
       (c) Lived alone - I liked it. Wanted to keep it
           that way.
       (d) Currently living with my SO - I like it. I like
           it better than living alone...

Why did (d) occur? Well, it wasn't merely that my roomy is my SO,
since I've lived with an SO before. It has more to do with what
my SO is like as a person, and how that person interacts with me.
We get along splendly, never any dirty dishes waiting to be washed,
never any dispute about stereos, garbage take-out, lights while
sleeping, etc etc etc...

It wasn't that I liked living alone, it was that my personality
didn't get along with most of the other people I lived with.
That is not unnatural either...it's very hard to mesh two personalities
together with little or no friction.
