(about women falling for jerks)

Many women -- me, too -- weren't so stupid that they didn't REALIZE the
guy was a foul-mouthed, socially obvious punk. . .rather they were gonna
FIX UP this foul-mouthed, socially obvious punk. Many women (not all, but
still me, too) have been aculturated to help "grow" immature people (that
is seen as a primary task of women == mothers), so many women (same
disclaimers) can't resist the temptation to practice on the available
population of love-objects (their romantic attachments) before they get
little kiddies of their very own.

There is a wonderful line in _MARY, MARY_ (by Jean Kerr?) that goes something
like this:

"I got to be so good 'making the best of bad situations' that I went out
looking for bad situations to make the best of."

One doesn't care to ignore a large segment of one's skill set, after all.
Until one wises up, of course. This is why I always wonder at men who have
a fix on "younger" women (whatever that means). It's the "older" women
who have figured out what real people are. It's the "younger" ones who
are still out to "change" you. Oops. Did I just answer my question?
