I am not a model of the perfect woman which was or is now prevalent; I'm not
sure who is. But I did think it would help to be involved with a model of
the perfect man. You know, the "tall, dark and handsome" or the "strong,
silent" or the "great provider" or whatever. So I went out with some real
losers, jerks, weirdos, creeps, etc, passing over the gems or rejecting
them because I wanted the "model man" to raise me on the "model woman"
scale.

It takes some time and maturity to figure out who you are, what's neat about
youself, what's not so neat, how you don't live up to some ridiculous models
of perfection and why that's okay, etc. Maybe after some number of these
personal "revelations", the losers, jerks, weirdos, creeps, etc. are passed
over for the "diamonds in the rough". (Enough cliches for y'all :-))
