Now that Amy Grant's "Love Will Find a Way" has
broken into the Top 30 in the US of A, I am sure
that the "Christians and the Music they listen to
and play" discussion will get cranked all over this
country.

This past weekend Amy and her band appeared at Six
Flags over Georgia and she was heavily promoted by
a secular Pop-rock FM station. A friend who works
at a Christian FM station in the area told me that
people are calling in with suggestions that they
drop Amy from the playlist for ostensibly "sell out"
reasons. He indicated that Amy is sensitive to the
feelings of the mainline Christian community and,
for instance, she passed on all interviews this
weekend including NEWSWEEK.

There is a sad litany of reasons that I guess we can
thrash out here if there is interest, but I urge patience
and tolerance for someone who is doing it a little
different from the way you are. Please pray for people
like Amy whether you feel she is right or wrong. Those
of us who are involved in CCM don't need your condemnation
- remember we're still your brothers and sisters.
