>Any idea why the above is true? I tend to agree with the statements

I have one hypothesis:
Many women really want a man who is both nice and extremely sexy.
It takes time to read a person's character, but his sex appeal
can be read in a flash.

Since women will quickly try to snap up such a man,
these types are rarely available (especially to women
who are not equally well rounded). This means that most
of the AVAILABLE men you meet will be either sexy or nice,
but not both (you wouldn't likely consider a man who was neither).

Nevertheless, for quite a while, you persist in seeking a man
who has it all. To speed your search, you immediately screen out
those men who are not sexy (after all, if he's not sexy, then
how could he be both sexy and nice?). What's left is a bunch of sexy rats.
If you're lucky, there may be a gem somewhere in the batch,
but it will take a lot of sorting through to find him.

What makes this especially heartbreaking, is that cruel and selfish
traits take so long to surface. Because it's in his self-interest
to win your love, the rat will pretend to be a nice guy -- for a while.

Eventually, you give up your search for the perfect man
and settle for some old friend who doesn't excite you that much,
but whom you know you can trust. But he doesn't have a chance
until you give up your quest to "have it all".

One way for a nice men to short-circuit this dilemma is
to stop trying to rely niceness alone and learn to project
some sex appeal. This will be good for the women,
since there will be more sexy-AND-nice men to go around.
