"yeah" I pronounce something like "yii-aa-ahhh".  "yah" I pronounce something
more like, well, "yah".  Now thing is, when I want to say yes, I tend to use
the latter.  Well, actually, I cut the vowel short, leading to something like
"yaht" with the t formed with the back of the tongue instead of the tip.
