OK, now that it's all right to talk about cage birds, I have a
question:

At what age should a parrot start talking?

We have had a young (<1 year) Yellow-fronted Amazon for about 6
months now. Two weeks after we got him he said "hello". We thought
terrific, we've got a real talker. Since then he hasn't learned
another word, but he does imitate the telephone, a neighbor's dog,
and an electronic starwars toygun. We now suspect that he learned
"hello" from another parrot in the pet store.

Does anyone out there know if all of a sudden he's going to start
talking the proverbial "bluestreak" as he matures, or are we doing
something wrong?

By the way, he's turned out to be a wonderful pet! Much more fun
than the VCR we didn't get because we got him!
