Re:Birds at Feeder in Los Alamos:

I keep a feeder all year in my yard here in Los Alamos.
The common summer feeders Are House Finches, Pine Siskins, White-
breasted Nuthatches (the parent brought in a noisy bunch of new
fledglings), a Rufous-sided Towhee female, a pair of Brown or
Canyon Towhees, Scrub and Steller's Jays, Black-headed Grosbeaks,
a lingering Gray-headed (Dark-eyed) Junco, and Broad-tailed
Hummingbirds at the hummer feeder.
Now that the season has advanced, and family groups are be-
ginning to move around-visitors have been Mountain Chickadees,
a few Evening Grosbeaks, Chipping Sparrows, a female Downy Wood-
pecker. Also Rufous Hummingbirds returned on July 15 and a male
Calliope Hummingbird,always a thrill!, on July 21-22.
Present, but not coming to the feeder, are Western Tanagers,
Grace's and Virginia's Warblers, Solitary (Plumbeous phase) Vireos,
Ravens, Turkey Vultures, Kestrels, Red-shafted Flickers, Violet-
Green Swallows, White-throated Swifts, Red Crossbills, Brown-headed
Cowbirds...

WhAt have others seen in their areA this summer.

The Tucson RBA (602-881-WING) says there is a Plain-capped Starthroat
at Portal, near Cave Creek Canyon....
