I am starting this group, assuming there is not currently one in
existence on the same subject, to see if anyone else out there
is interested in sharing information about home satellite
television (TVRO).

Some of the topics which seem to be of interest are:

	1. What's on what bird/transponder
	2. Discoveries of interesting programming
	3. Rumors of things to come
	4. Technology
	5. Help
	6. Hardware and systems
	7. Installation
	8. Buying tips
	9. Scrambling

I'm sure there are probably many more topics that will emerge
as the group gets going.

For starters - I have a Birdview 20/20 system with a splitter
and two receivers. I am currently investigating Hi-Fi VCR's
and editing controllers for use with the satellite system.
I am using the tuner from a Sony Profeel system as a cable
tuner and source swither for cable, satellite, and VCR. I
run the audio through a Marantz receiver driving two Verit
TA-1212-6 speakers. I am in the market for a good audio
processor to improve the sound capability from my Birdview
system. Looking for all modes of stereo, plus digital
frequency display on each channel.

P.S. I recorded almost all of the Live Aid program on two
recorders using the feeds from London and Philadelphia off
of the satellite dish. Had a few goofs so I don't have the
whole thing, but I do have material on 13 tapes at 2hr speed.
Will be using editing equipment to boil it down to about
6 good hours.
