The jargon of those who jump from perfectly good airplanes for no apparent reason is rich, and I'm still uncertain of the meanings of some terms: a 'Boogie' -- Is this just another term for an organized getting together of jumpers for sport and competition? a 'freak jump' -- Apparently some method of falling. Is this the 'human badminton birdie' negative arch position? a 'dirt dive' -- I THINK this means practicing RW maneuvers on the ground. If not, it sounds painful. Could someone please clue in a novice jumper so I too will be able to toss these terms around? Also, if you are familiar with any other bizarre skydiving expressions, I'd be interested in hearing them (along with definitions, please) _____________________________________________________________________ -Pablo (formerly: pablo@dartvax, currently: ...uw-beaver!teltone!dataio!helens!dcohn, futurely: ???)
