SIGGRAPH debuted the MEiKO Computing Surface, an interconnection of hundreds
of transputers calculating hidden surface pictures. Their breif literature
boasts 1,437,000,002 instructions per second, at a cost of $250.00/MIP.

It is built on a "40-slot extended double Eurocard with proprietary point-to-
point backplane. 100 ohm balanced differential environment engineered for link
distribution at 20 Mbits/sec." The compute boards consist of "4 off [sic] 16 or
[sic] 32 bit processors each with 48K bytes SRAM."

[also a Japanese address was given, but my terminal doesn't have Katakana,
much less Kanji. A number (telephone?) given was 03-435-4556.]
