I find that I must agree with Chuqui regarding the state of affairs in
net.singles today. I strongly believe that everyone should be entitled to
their own opinions and beliefs, but I am offended by people who attempt to
convince another person to change their beliefs by ridiculing those beliefs.

Chuqui's description of net.singles is:
> a place where people could get
> together and discuss the practical realities of being a person in today's
> world. It was a support center for people going through difficult times. It
> was a place for friends to get together and try to make life just a bit
> more tolerable in a callous world.

This is the kind of place that is both pleasant and thought provoking to
visit. Unfortunately, net.singles seems to be temporarily diverted from
this concept. I hope that the group as a whole can sit back, take a deep
breath, and start again without the proselytizing and one-ups-manship that
I have seen recently.

Within any community, there are going to be differences of opinion, but
these differences need to be settled in such a way as to strengthen, not
weaken, the community.
