I once had a strange callous-type thing on the instep of my right foot.
One night, while taking out the trash, I stepped on a slug. My
reaction,
as one would expect, was of disgust. I scraped the remains of the slug
off into the grass and let the incident slip out of my mind. Lo and
behold, I soon noticed that the callous-type thing was disappearing.
This happened several years ago and neither slugs nor callous-type thing
have returned. I owe my foot to that disgusting little slug.
