I think that these sorts of things are *great* ideas! I am in the process of converting the Move generator for sail(1) to BASIC so that you can play Wooden Ships and Iron Men solitaire without having to play sail. Once I get it done, I'll post it (although I would encourage anyone who has already done it to feel free to post their version).
