I have a freeware copy of a program called "PCWindow" from Creative Freeware
Unlimited. It includes a pop-up notepad, similar to most of the
pop-up notepads. It works fine unless I read or save a file--then when I
return to DOS, the keyboard is frozen. The keyboard doesn't freeze if I don't
read or save a file, and it doesn't freeze if I call the notepad from a
program that bypasses the normal DOS keyboard handling (e.g. it works fine
with PC-Write). I'm using a Leading Edge PC, which is alleged to be a
99 44/100% pure PC-compatible. Does anyone know where the problem is? I wrote
Creative Freeware, and never got a reply. If it can be fixed easily (I'm not
averse to patching with debug), fine; otherwise I suppose I ought to break
down and buy some commercial program. (You get what you pay for? :-) )
