Rumor has it that with the Arlington/Warrington line returning to service,
PAT will reactivate 3 1600 series cars for regular service on the hill.
(For those of you who've never been to Pittsburgh, this is the line with
9%+ grades.  Also, the 1600 series cars have air brakes as well as electric
brakes.  With an air compressor on board, they have pneumatic sanders.  The
 newer 1700 series cars are all electric, and depend on mere gravity
to get the sand to the rails.)
