Actually that was pretty mild when compared to the punishment for convicted
drug dealers. If I remember correctly it was a certain number of lashes in
a public flogging with a whip of split bamboo soaked in salt water. They 
would give one lash every six months to give your back a chance to heal before
the next one. After all the lashes were completed you were then shot.
