R+D, Santa Monica Lines: 18 According to my understanding of the matter, most 2.10.2 inewses add the .signature file, so Pnews shouldn't, or there'd be a double signature. According to the Posting-Version of your line, unisoft is running 2.10.2. This would seem to indicate that somebody disabled the feature in the version running at unisoft. Or is the .signature code a late addition to 2.10.2? Maybe we should make a rule that anything that adds .signature should check for the "-- ", so as not to add a signature if there already is one. That would be easier in the long run than for front ends to try to second guess whether delivery programs are going add signatures or not. Then all we have to do is to get everyone to change their software. :-( Larry Wall {allegra,burdvax,cbosgd,hplabs,ihnp4,sdcsvax}!sdcrdcf!lwall P.S. I don't use .signature myself so that I can put cute P.S.'s in like this. I just have this nifty emacs keybinding that includes ~/.mysig, is all.
