I am looking for advice in the BETA recorder line. I presently own
a VHS HI-FI unit and I want another HI-FI unit to make dubs with.
One question before we get to far into this. Is there anything wrong
with copying from BETA to VHS or visa versa ? I wouldn't think so,
but has anyone had any problems/successes doing this. If it is possible,
I would like to purchase a BETA HI-FI machine. That way I could rent
or borrow tapes of either format and make a copy of it in the other format.
The machine I presently own is the Hitachi VT89A which does everything
and more. I'm not sure I need another machine with all the features.
I'll use the VHS machine as my main tuner, so the BETA machine won't need
random-access tuning. It must be HI-FI, and Super Beta seems to come on
all the new machines anyway. The Sony model SLHF-400 has been recommended
to me. Does anyone have any suggestions in the line ? Any advice will
be appreciated.
