The University of Washington Arboretum in Seattle has a fabulous
collection of rhododendrons and azaleas. It also has a very decent
Japanese Garden which, however, is not as nice as

The Japanese Garden in Portland, Oregon, which is next door
to the Hoyt Arboretum.

There are also quite a few remarkable Botanical Gardens in British Columbia,
Canada:

The world-famous Buchart Gardens near Victoria on Vancouver Island

The Botanical Gardens of the University of B.C. in Vancouver

The Van Dusen Garden on Oak Street in Vancouver
