I am contemplating the purchase of a Roland MPU-401 MIDI interface.
I would like to hear from anyone who has cross-bred this hardware
with a Vax. We have a DR-11C 16-bit parallel board on our 750,
running 4.2BSD.

Software is not a problem, I want to write my own. I'd just like to hear
from anyone who has had any problems combining all this. Or any successes.
Or any comments on the 401 in general. I'm pretty sure it does what
I want but I haven't studied the specs in great detail. Please mail
any comments to me and I will summarize to the net if enough interest
is expressed.

Incidentally it was not easy convincing the salesman that I didn't
need either the IBM or Apple interface to go with the 401.

Thanks in advance
