"only mediocre???" Now, I'm not much of a Genesis fan, but I think Phil Collins is the best rock drummer around (vis. his work in Genesis and Brand X [esp. Brand X]). I think that, if you heard some of the stuff he did with Brand X (this group was his idea), you'd change your mind. By the way, Brand X also has one of the best bass players around, Percy Jones. Being a musician myself, this business of who is better than whom is really boring (as well as being bullshit). If you met (or played with) those people who make their living playing music, you'd find that they are all fine musicians; their style might not be to your taste, but they are all (Madonna included) professionals.
