Here here! Couldn't agree more. If people in real life start swearing at each other they are no longer having an 'intelligent' discussion, assuming that they were in the first place. There is no place for that kind of thing in a public forum. There are plenty of good ways to describe feelings and emotions without resorting to obscenities, and *all* of them describe them better than cutting loose with a foul mouth (or keyboard). Since this is net.MUSIC, let me extend this opinion to music also. I personally feel that there is no place for 'nasty words' in music either, although there are a *few* songs that are so classic in other ways that I don't mind overlooking the temporary lack of mental capability that caused the words to be written in the first place. I hear some stuff though that it seems like every other word is a swear, and that to me, is one of the things that makes a certain song 'bad.' Is it really so hard to disagree with someone without resorting to obscenity? This is not directed at anyone in specific, so flames and curses to /dev/null please. > Anyone familiar with early Sparks? Wow, it's nice to hear a name like Sparks mentioned here! I have two of their albums, 'Indiscreet', and 'Propaganda.' I don't know how 'early' they are in relation to 'Kimono My House' but there is a lot of amusing and enjoyable stuff on them, particularly 'Happy Hunting Ground', 'Hospitality On Parade', 'Something for the Girl with Everything ( a minor hit a few years back, if I remember correctly), 'Never Turn Your Back on Mother Earth' etc.... I also enjoy, and have been known to play on the air, the classic (although newer) "Eaten By the Monster of Love" "Grasp at straws that don't want grasping Gaze at clouds that come down crashing Never turn your back on mother earth" -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- "An argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition.
