You asked about the Star Micronics SD-10, among others....
My experience with the Star printers in general has been
outstanding. I have a Gemini 10xi and have used (extensively)
the SD-10. The print quality is *very* good, particularly in
the LQ mode, and the beastie puts out rather good graphics.
Be aware, though, that the graphics you get are only as good
as the software that produces them.

I don't know what your interface needs are, but Star offers an Apple
parallel card and cable, called the GrafStar, for about $50-80. Works
well.

One interesting note - the ribbons are in the < $2.50 range each (I've
seen them for as little as $.90 ea.). Compare against the others...
