Summary: Length limit is doomed - its attacking the wrong problem

Long articles aren't the problem, whatever the newsgroup.  Just
articles containing trash (short or long ones that consist of N lines
of the previous article that you just read, a couple of lines of
meaningless comment, and M lines of .signature).

I have been tempted from time to time to suggest simply deleting
the .signature code, or perhaps changing it to
	unlink(".signature");
to assist in eliminating that "feature".  Something tells me that
this solution wouldn't really work either.
