Can anyone suggest an alternative to "dump"/"restor" for multi-volume
tape backup and restore for a 4.1 BSD VAX system, with the most important
feature of the backup part of the utility being quick wall-clock runtime?

Let me know how fast these other utilities are in absolute terms
or compared to "dump", if you know. Salespersons are welcome to send me mail.

!!! We will pay for this utility !!!

Any info will be appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. Reply directly to me if you can. Sorry to all unix-wizards people who
are getting this message via info-unix, too.
P.P.S Didn't someone write speed fixes for "dump" and post them a while back?
We have source at NADC and could make the changes if someone could dig
      up the changes....(thanks again)
