The area just north or just west of Rice University are the only
sane places to live in Houston. They are also less than .5 miles
from the Texas Medical Center. If north of the university, be sure to
stay south of the Montrose area. e.g. at least 3 blocks south of hiway 59.
This area has 3 museums, some nice cafes, and even trees, which are
a novelty in the concrete jungle you are headed for.
