I am interested in finding

             n
     _ __ _ -1
      \
A - a /__ x(i). t(x(i))
_ i=1 _

where A : pxp non-singular, symmetric matrix
      x(i) : p-column vetctor
      t(x(i)) : transpose of x(i).
      a : real constant

For n=1, the above expression can be expressed in terms of A inverse,x,t(x).
Does anybody know whether a close form exists for n>1 ?
Any reference or hint will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
