Summary:

In the old (v1) finders that I had, it would not decrement the file
count each time a file was copied. It would do it some of the time. It
seemed to depend on the size of the file. If you were copying a lot
of small files that all fitted in memory at the same time, it would
subtract that number from the number of files left to copy. With large
files it would just decrement the number when the file was copied.

The new finder seems to do what you said your old finder did. (I am using
an XL with 1Mb).

I miss PUT BACK too.
