I don't cast aspersions on their sincerity, just their personality in
general.  I usually attribute it to the 'treat her like china' attitude,
which is one of the best ways I know to get on my worst side.  I'm
not talking about the kind of handshakes that seem to be a contest--you
can leave a definite sense of your presence without breaking bones.
