[ this is not a superstition... ]

Quite some time ago I was discussing "women in combat" with a woman who
said that she'd heard that the Israeli army was ceasing to train women
for combat. One reason (in her opinion) was that the women lacked the
conflict-control socialization process that men undergo as boys. The
result of the military training was to develop trained killers for whom
any conflict was open to immediate escalation to physical violence. This
was, in her opinion, a ruse to keep women "in their place" and deprive
them of a means of independence.

Can anyone (in Israel?) verify/resolve this? Was/is there any information
on the long term effects of combat training on women?
