State University, Raleigh Lines: 16 There are lots of beautiful exotic hardwoods I would like to play with (as budget permits), such as rosewood, wenge, Macassar ebony. However, I don't want to be party to any wholesale destruction of fragile ecologies (and don't forget that many North American songbirds depend on South American forests for their winter vacations). Does anyone know which woods are harvested in a responsible manner and which are obtained by clearcutting without reforestation? Or where such information might be obtained? Any discussion? -- Jon Mauney, mcnc!ncsu!mauney North Carolina State University (how much wood could a woodbutcher butcher, if a woodbutcher could butcher wood?)
