I've been out of the audio field for several years now, having sated my
appetite and exhausted my pocketbook. The latter is swelling again, and
I'm getting the itch for a CD player. As I've become increasingly
ignorant with such things, I'm very interested in advice as to what the
critical issues are, and what sort of prices I should expect to pay.

To give you an idea of what range I'm looking at, my speakers are KEF
103.2's (which I would like to augment eventually with a KEF subwoofer),
my soon-to-be-replaced amp is a Yamaha CR-840, my tape deck is a
Nakamichi 481, and my turntable is a Yamaha with a Dynavector Ruby
stylus.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
