Aw, gee, now, what kind of an attitude is that to have?  Maybe the scared
person is just basically shy, or not particularly practiced at walking up
to someone and saying "Hi!" in the warm way you described!

I have known many male-type people (more of them than most women have,
actually), and have observed that often the ones who put on the warm,
charming appearance simply are the ones with more practice at it.  On
the other hand, I have known many warm, kind, honest, sincere people who
were quite terrified of walking up to some stranger and saying "Hi!"

I mean, this is just an elementary truth...
