Hey, hey, hey, wait a minute, folks. I never
said anything to the effect that someone couldn't
be "shy". The operative word in my posting was
"hiding." I have been (and often am) shy myself,
and there's nothing wrong with that. But
I would much rather have someone come out and
be open about it "gee, I don't know anyone at this
party, but you look like someone nice to talk to."

If someone will be open about what he's feeling,
I am happy to deal with it and share what I'm
feeling. But if someone wants to play the
"dating game" rather than be honest, what kind
of a relationship are we going to have down the
line?

If they're so terribly scared of me that they
won't even admit they're shy, then I am not
going to go to the trouble to identify their
feelings for them. I can't carry the whole
conversation/relationship myself.

I've already gotten some "hi" notes from
some awfully nice people, so it can be done!

Remember the famous words of Abraham Lincoln:
"Why is Andrew Johnson always following me around?"
