R+D, Santa Monica Lines: 20 Summary: Origins (a gaming convention) in late June awarded the Charles Roberts Awards, its equivalent of the Nebula/Hugo. A&E (an amateur press association for roleplayers) won the Charles Roberts Award for Best Amateur Adventure Magazine. This was the first such award to go to a roleplaying magazine. (It will probably be the last one too. They're thinking of abolishing the award in favor of one for Best Magazine, on the grounds that there are too many awards.) Write me for details if you'd like to subscribe. Minimum cost is $2.19 a month. Incidentally I've also just pubbed "Game of Fandom," a revised and expanded version of the original track (chutes and ladder style) game which originally appeared in the early 1960s. This game is an excuse for learning about old SF fandom events and comes with an "Answer Book" explaining references to the story Ellison rejected as too disgusting for Dangerous Visions, the Green Balrog, etc. (It's $2.00.) --Lee Gold
