I have a Sherwood CD, purchased about 7 months ago. It's one of your
simpler CD's in that it has no fancy features exceptfor a 3-beam pickup,
but performs well. Last night I had it on auto repeat, and all of a sudden
the thing started to skip along very merrily, and after about 5 seconds
stopped in the middle of a totally different selection than was being
played before. There were no earthquakes at the time :-) In fact, the whole
stereo stand rests on a carpeted cement surface, which eliminates any
possibility of outside influence via vibrations. Also, the disk itself has
no defects, was clean, and has been played a lot in the past few months.
Anyone care to explain this bizzare behaviour?
