I once saw a roadblock operation on New Jersey's Garden State Parkway.
It looked like a scene from a WWII movie depicting wartime Germany.
State Police officers held everyone at a stand-still on an entrance
ramp. To hell with you if you were in a hurry. A couple of the officers
were slowly strolling between the stopped cars, eyeing up each driver in
turn, presumably to see if any looked guility. It made me sick.

I have no idea if the above constitutes "Unlawful search and seizure",
as defined by some law book. I do know that I don't like it. In
the pursuit of absolute safety, Americans seem willing to turn over
more and more power to police agencies. The police state which may
well be the result of this action will only make life difficult on
the average citizen.

This is not net.politics so I will not ramble on any longer.

To conclude:
Crack down on drunk drivers by stopping people who are driving like
they are drunk, not by harassing the entire motoring public.
