Tim,

I think you are straining too hard when you say
Journalistic Mindset == Atheism.  I think your line of 
reasoning leads to J.M. == Agnosticism because a true
skeptic will eventually believe something when s/he is given
enough objective proof.  Atheism, I think has been demonstrated
to be a form of religious belief - and a dogmatic one
at that - because the holder of that position makes
strong statements about which there is little objective
evidence.  To wit, you can say "I have no evidence to
support the existence of God, Unicorns, the Tooth Fairy..."
which is an admission of agnosticism ( literally without knowledge )

Perhaps you'll agree that this is a different kind of statement
than the late Jim Morrison (of the Doors) made when he screamed

"You CANNOT petition the Lord in prayer !!"
