even the new version of "postnews" when prompting for "Distribution"
suggests "world" rather than "net" ....

I strongly believe that "world.general" and "world.flame" will make people
sit up and think twice, where "net.*" catches a lot of people asleep.

And I strongly agree with Chuqi's suggestion to eliminate the *.flame groups.
I'm tired of people using the name as an excuse for using insulting language.
Besides, who said that it was ok to call others *IDIOT* and worse in messages
to these groups, anyway? Which company, university, or whatever group out
there, will stand up and state that they tolerate that anyone using their
equipment displays such behavior? Is it ok to do the same on the phone, in
a letter with your letter-head, or in person in your offices? And I am
tired of system administrators having to either play police, or turning
down complaints with the statement that "we are not the police".

I urgently suggest that you net-powers out there consider this point during
the next conference - if I'd be in attendance, I'd be willing to be the lonely
figure at the back of the room to bring it up - but I won't be there, most
likely, as I don't have any business there.
