A group in the Washington, DC area called Men Against Violence Against Women does just this. Volunteer work is usually available in most areas of the country. Vounteer at a Crisis Hotline Center, a Rape Crisis Center, a Home for Abused Women/Children. Get Active. Sending letters on the net isn't going to solve the problem (although it is a useful tool).
