I got a request to post a list of places to go out in Manhattan.
Rather than do that, I refer anyone interested to the NY Times,
April 5, 1985, p. C1 for a fairly comprehensive article on dance
clubs (tho these things change so fast it's almost outdated :-).
AS far as bars go, there are so many, some of which can be roughly
categorized (i.e., they tend to be frequented by people in these
categories) along such dimensions as ethnic group, occupation, and
others. Since I'm no expert, to avoid misleading anyone, and to
avoid typing fatigue, I suggest checking recent issues of New
York and other magazines. If anyone has a specific question in
mind, contact me via mail.
