I am going to apologize for what I am about to write but I need some
place to blow off some steam and this is the place (so they tell me).

Well, I am about to loose my 3rd grandparent in the course of 2 years
due to smoking. How come it is so hard for people to listen to someone
say that smoking is not good for them (even if it comes from a doctor).
I loved my grandparents enough to try and convince them not to smoke
and to try quitting but I am a young whipper snapper and don't know
the ways of the world yet. So here I sit, very depressed and feeling
helpless as my grandmother stays in an oxygen tent. I remember my other
grandmother (much to clearly) how she suffered the last few months of
her life. You can't believe what it is like to watch someone struggle
for every breath they take. It is also hurts to look at someone who
is literally blue because they can't get enough oxygen, therefore, the
carbon dioxide level in their blood gives them that color. My grandmother
is only 65 (my other grandmother died at 68) and I had hoped that my
grandparents would live long enough to see one of their 15 grandchildren
give them a great-grandchild. I was fortunate enough to have a great
grandmother who didn't smoke and who took care of herself and she lived
until she was 93 (she dies of natural causes about 5 years ago). I have
no wonderful words of wisdom for anyone, I just needed this space to
relinquish something that has been pent up inside. Thank you all for
your patience and consideration.
