I believe that the shell script 'quaternion.sh' will generate an interesting image, but I can't guarantee what will happen in other cases. - Vary the parameters (e.g., mu) and the boolean function converges(), which computes the iterated polynomial. The resulting images will vary dramatically. - Feel free to investigate the buffer-chaining subsystem. I was forced to use such a scheme under 4.1bsd on a 750; such kludges may no longer be necessary. - The inspiration for my system (and the critical boundary-tracking algorithm) came from Alan Norton's article in SIGGRAPH '83. - Please keep me posted of any important discoveries.
