Message-ID: <529@rtech.UUCP> Date: Thu, 4-Jul-85 00:51:43 EDT Article-I.D.: rtech.529 Posted: Thu Jul 4 00:51:43 1985 Date-Received: Sat, 6-Jul-85 16:41:18 EDT Distribution: na Organization: Relational Technology, Alameda CA Lines: 22 Good news: A local AT&T Dealer (Berkeley Computer) claims to be able to put 256k chips on both the motherboard and the 512k card of a 7300. This gives you 4M in the same space as your original 1M, and leaves you slots for other goodies. Bad News: They're asking around $860/Meg, which I find high, given the current $150 or so cost of the chips. Especially with 512k Mac upgrades going for < $300. Questions: * Has anyone elase heard this being done? * How much? * Could you do it yourself? -- {amdahl|dual|sun|zehntel}\ {ucbvax|decvax}!mtxinu---->!rtech!daveb ihnp4!{phoenix|amdahl}___/
