I recently responded to by mail someone's request for information about
the Yamaha CD-2 CD player. I responded as if that was the player I had.
When I got home, I discovered that I have the CD-X2! I think the CD-2
is one of the previous generation of Yamaha players superseded by the
CD-X2. The CD-X2 is cheaper, can be programmed backwards as well as
forwards, has better oversampling, and I think is better in some other
ways than the CD-2. I see no reason fro anyone to buy the previous
generation unless some store is running a fire sale. I paid $400 for mine.
