I seem to remember a program called "recondaemon" that would
unmount a file system and repack the disk. Usually early in
the morning.

Does anyone still use recondaemon or ever had any exposure to it?

PS- it was running on an 11/45 with MERT (gosh, trivia!), a Lyklama/Christensen
    /Bayer version of Unix.
