- - COMING ATTRACTIONS - -
Some of you may recall, fondly or otherwise, a game called "search"
which was distributed with 4.1bsd and in fact antedated that. I have
a version which will run across a network using TCP sockets under
4.2. I have obtained permission to distribute it from all the previous
authors in a linear chain and I will be sending it out at a later date.

- - SUGGESTIONS WELCOME - -
To cut down on the number of patches and updates I want to ask now
whether anyone has any fun features they have added to their own
copy of search. My current version plays like the 4.1 distribution
except that orbiting now works, scoring is different, and there is
a "guts mode" in which invisibility is disabled. (No, Dave, worm-
holes are still in the future!) I will try to incorporate as many
features as I can, if I like them and especially if you can send me
the code that implements them.

- - HELP WANTED - -
If you want to volunteer to port the game to System V (source is
about 100K) using whatever passes for interprocess communication
under that OS, or if you want to test it for me under 4.2 on some
system other than the vax, sun or pyramid, please contact me. Come
to think of it, this will need to be ported to 4.3 also, since it
failed to compile when tried by an acquaintance at Berkeley. If you
are experienced in IPC and have 4.3 already, you might volunteer for
that task.

If I get many helpful responses I may be a bit slow to acknowledge
all of them, but nobody will be ignored. If I don't get any, then
look for a vax/sun/pyramid 4.2 version on the net in 2 or 3 weeks.
