I had my first CD problem (after 15 disks). I haven't tested my
others fully in the manner that caused this one to fail.

The disk played fine sequentially.

It would not however search to track two (for example) if it was playing
track three. I could hear it seeking back and forth a few times before
it gave up and stopped. I didn't check all my other CDs, but I've never
noticed a problem when I've randomly track selected on them before.
I did try to duplicate the problem on another CD, to no avail.

Anyway, the problem is not 100% repeatable on this disk--it fails only
80% of the time.

I don't see any damage on the disc except possibly something near the
outer rim, but I thought CDs played inside to outside (so wouldn't
track two be near the inside?)

The disk was one of the Earth, Wind, and Fire ones.

Well, this is just for people's information.
