Oh, boy -- *MAGIC!!*  All you have to do is convince 'society' of
something, and it's *TRUE!!*  David London's individuality is a
variable that depends on the people he associates with.  If he
belongs to a society that believes in the individual, he's an
individual.  If he belongs to a society that doesn't, he's just a cog
in a great machine.

I wonder what would happen if he belonged to a society that believed
that he didn't exist?
