Changing the followup lines was an incredibly stupid and misguided thing
to do, even if (and no flames if you don't believe it) my intentions were
not as warped as some of you seem to think. Once again, I apologize to
the net for that, and for the namecalling in my response to his flame.
And I have sent personal apologies to those who have sent me messages and to
those who have sent messages to my system administrator. (For your own
personal apology, send $9.95 and an obscene message to alex@ucla-cs. :-])

But those of you who have been flaming me with expletive filled postings
also owe the net an apology. You are really setting a wonderful example.
(Lucky for you I have the maturity not to respond in kind. :-]) I wonder
if your system administrators know about your lovely postings. Does the
word "hypocrisy" mean anything to you? You don't like it when someone
does something inappropriate, but you are certainly willing to do so
yourself.

You are right, of course. They contain useless information such as
the article's distribution and the newsgroups it will be posted to.

When you post something, it is your responsibility to make sure it goes to
the appropriate groups! Because people like you don't bother to, postings
get sent to four different newsgroups instead of one. When you drive,
I suppose you try and hit people who are going through a red light, just
because you have the green. Why blame someone else for your own
carelessness?
