With the announcement yesterday that they will market both flavors, they certainly gained a lot of press and hoopla by playing games with the public. With this much publicity, whining, groaning, smirking, and moaning, the public assisted Coke's campaign to make their new product introduction the most publicized in history. I feel cheated somehow in that I don't like either of the recipes. Just when Pepsi thought they had the upper hand, and committed beaucoup advertising dollars, Coke comes back with their "whoops" announcement. Do you feel that all of this is too cynical? Just check the sales figures for soft drinks now and in the next 12 months. This type of blatant display of consumer manipulation is deserved by those who fall for it.
