Actually the problem is a > broken connection between the ears of the people posting to net.flame > AND any other news group. > brent@cadovax.UUCP For those who use vnews, part of the problem lies in which newsgroup is mentioned first. Vnews seems to block out a particular article in a newsgroup if that newsgroup is mentioned as the second (or subsequent) one, and if you have not yet read the first newsgroup that was mentioned. For example, if the newsgroups were net.women,net.flame and one subscribed to both newsgroups and read net.flame first, one would not see the article until one started reading net.women. It is possible therefore to view an article, in say net.women for example, of which the main reference is (or the article should be in) net.flame. For net.women and net.flame one could substitute any two newsgroups that get cross-posted. brent@cadovax.UUCP said: > The problem is with people posting to BOTH! net.flame AND net.women. Lets put it another way: Whenever articles are posted to more than one newsgroup, somebody somewhere will probably get annoyed. :-) :-) -- [ It's not the end of the world....no it's not; If it's the end of the world, well so what ? - Marti Webb ] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ || From the keys of Richard Jeffreys ( British Citizen Overseas ) || || employed by North American Philips Corporation || || @ AT&T Bell Laboratories, Naperville, Illinois || ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ || General disclaimer about anything and everything that I may have typed || ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
