They seem to be fine in some cases, but often the only convenient thing to lock a bike to is a telephone pole, flagpole, tree, or other large diameter object. U-shaped locks don't work well in such cases. I'd rather have a less than optimal lock which is in use than a wonderful lock with no place to use it. Doug Hosking Convex Computer Corp.
