| New listing: mail.nuke-winter
------

This is a list of mailing lists available on the network. A mailing list is
different from a newsgroup because you do not receive anything unless you
specifically request it. To be added to a mailing list, please mail a note
to the contact for that list.

Please note the following caveats: Publication of a list here does not
guarantee that you will be allowed to join as a member. That is up to
the moderator and readers, and they have the right to restrict access
to their list as they see fit. Mailing lists use MUCH less system
overhead on a net-wide basis but do tend to increase loading on the
moderators machine so the number of people that can be added to a list
may be limited by machine resources as well.

If you have a list that you want added to this posting or are interested in
starting a list but don't know how, drop me a note at ..!nsc!chuqui.

mail.christian
    Contact: umcp-cs!mailjc-request
	     mailjc-request@tove.ARPA

Purpose: To provide a non-hostile environment for discussion among
christians; not to hide our discussions from non-christians.
Non-christians may join the list and "listen-in", but full blown
debates between Christians and non-Christians are best carried out in
    net.religion.

mail.compress

Purpose: discussions about file compression, especially Lempel-Ziv
    algorithms.

mail.feminists
    contact: {ihnp4|clyde|decvax|allegra}!watmath!wateng!jamcmullan

Purpose: The feminist mailing list is intended to provide a forum
for discussion of issues of interest to women, in a friendly
atmosphere. The basic tenets of feminism and the day to day
experiences of women do not have to be explained or defended.

mail.firearms
    contact: {ihnp4,cbosgd}!cbrma!kk

Purpose: The mailing list mail.firearms has been created to provide an
environment in which sportsmen can discuss issues of concern to them.
Topics include but are not limited to hunting, firearms safety, legal
issues, reloading tips, maintenance suggestions, target shooting, and
dissemination of general info. Anyone is welcome to join -- note that we
do NOT intend to discuss the merits of gun control.

mail.frplist
    contact: mcvax!ukc!warwick!frplist (Russell Quin)

Purpose: mail.frplist is a mailing list for people who are interested
in Role Playing Game design or the design and running of rolegaming
    campaigns.

mail.new-age
    contact: seismo!cmu-cs-k!tim
	     tim@cmu-cs-k (ARPA)

Purpose: The New Age Digest exists to facilitate the exchange of ideas,
views, and techniques of esoteric religions and movements such as
Thelema, Wicca, Masonry, and so on. The digest is eclectic and
welcomes interested people of all religions. Only extra-ordinarily vile
messages will be rejected, but all messages are subject to spelling and
format correction (but NOT content editing). Anonymous messages will be
    transmitted on request.

mail.nuke-winter
    contact: {ihnp4,seismo,cbosgd,gatech,hplabs}!nsc!chuqui
	     nsc!chuqui@decwrl.ARPA

of current research, and explore the implications of the event.

International Law of the Sea Institute, University of Hawaii.

mail.prisoner
    Contact: {allegra | burdvax | astrovax}!sjuvax!iannucci

Discussion and comment (and sometimes bug fixes) which touch on
the security aspects of the UNIX operating system. This mailing
list is joined at the pleasure of the applicant's System
	Administrator and/or the list administrator.

mail.tartan-c
	contact: astrovax!tartan-c-requests
