Sang,

  from my experience, if the VT241 is comparable to any other
terminal of the VT-Series, you need at minimum 3, better 4,
pins:
 Pin # 1: Protective Ground
 Pin # 2: Transmit Data
 Pin # 3: Receive Data
 Pin # 7: Ground

Maybe you'll need a crossing between Pin 2 and 3. It is also
possible that you have to set the terminal chracteristics to
/NOWRAP (if you are using VMS).
