I moved from Calif. to Oregon and shipped my GS550 and GS1000 in the
moving van. Both had fairings and suffered no damage at all. I packed both
myself in the regular blankets supplied by UNITED MOVERS. I suppervised the
packing but the movers were vary careful. The only preparation was to drain
the carburators and gass tank and to remove the mirrors and deflate the
tires partially. The biggest concern was what whas around them that could
shift/fall and damage the bikes. Mine came through in perfect condition,
which is more than I can say for my roller cabinet and tool box!
