I'm curious about something, what is the humor in watching one human being reduce himself to the level of name calling and insinuating about others personal lives? >Obviously you care very little about those on the net (and not just at >UCLA-CS) who do enjoy these postings, even if you don't. It seems to me that his very request to have Scott removed shows that he does care about the net (enough not to want to see it destroyed by childish behaviour). > There are those >of us who don't enjoy your postings. Should we nominate you for >removal from the net, or send complaints to your system administrator? The disagreement with Scott (as I see it) is not that he holds views that are unacceptable to others (then again... :-)). It has to do with removing those who would intentionally destroy any semblance of a reasonable discussion in any newsgroup on the net. (I'm not sure if this applies in Scott's case, but it does in a few others). > >Why don't you just use the "n" key? It is right above the space bar, >between the "b" and the "m". They are the ones responsible for how the limited disk space they have is used. When they see volumes of TP discussions coming down the line, they naturally have to be concerned (and are almost forced into taking some drastic action). Users can hit 'n' to get past the article, but the article is still occupying precious disk space and is still eating money in phone charges. >Followups to net.auto and net.motss.
