Regarding ctrl-C not being correctly passed down a SET HOST link...

Dunno... It works fine for us. As a demonstration, I did SET HOST
wherever, ran TECO (remember TECO?), and put it into a loop (<>$$).
Ctrl-C did the proper "execution aborted" and returned to command
prompt. Are you sure things on the other end are properly installed?
