If you are seriously interested then I would suggest joining or
starting a group that sponsors activities aimed at educating the
populace or assisting Rape Crisis Centers.  A group in the
Washington, DC area called Men Against Violence Against Women
does just this.  Volunteer work is usually available in most areas
of the country.  Vounteer at a Crisis Hotline Center, a Rape Crisis
Center, a Home for Abused Women/Children.  Get Active.  Sending letters
on the net isn't going to solve the problem (although it is a useful
tool).
