Thanks everyone. Once I got the babble fish, I was able to get quite a bit farther on my own. I'm now wandering around the heart of gold with 4 pieces of fluff and a box full of tools trying to figure out the next few puzzles. I've identified a number of areas that need further exploration and a number of items that I can't quite figure out what to do with. Areas that need exploring: I cannot enter the sauna, hatchway, or talking door. I can't get marvin, eddie, or the repair robot to do anything for me. I don't know what to do with the machine in the little room with the mesh floor, nor do I know how to get into the room beneath the mesh (if there is one). I don't know where to plant the 4 pieces of fluff. I haven't used any of the tools (wrench, screwdriver, etc), the toothbrush, tweezers, thing, and perhaps a few other items. I've noticed that the repair robot's bike is an object, but I can't figure out a verb to use in association with it. I haven't figured out how to get the particle of common sense out of the maze. I can't figure out how to use the nutrimat interface without turning myself into a whale and splashing on the surface of margaratha(sp). (That is, I haven't figured out how to get the interface without fusing the improbability drive to the control console.) I suspect that there are two key puzzles that I need to solve and then everything else will fall in my lap. The first puzzle probably involves learning how to make use of eddie or marvin or the robot in such a way that I can get hold of the nutrimat interface without fusing my spare improbability drive to the large receptacle. Perhaps the bike is useful in this area. The second puzzle is probably learning how to get hold of the particle of common sense. I suspect that if I had common sense, I could get past the talking door and learn lots of new things. Subtle hints will be greatly appreciated, -- Chuck
