All he has to do is find a sponsor. Real tough until you consider how
many like-minded mush-heads we've managed to vote into congress.

Treating the symptom and not the cause? Democrats and Republicans (henceforth
called American Politicians) have a very hard time taking in as much money as
they spend. Democrats started deficit spending with good intentions allowing
us to "borrow" our way out of the Depression. Other politicians have authorized
deficits to fuel big spending for less noble causes (e.g., Johnson and Nixon,
for funding the war in Southeast Asia), but Reagan has been president during
the years that have seen the most dramatic increase in deficit spending.

Reagan cannot be absolved of influence in the budget process. He introduces
his budgets via proxies, proposes tax reforms that garner more attention than
any plan a congressman could propose, and has enormous resources to peddle
his plan around the country. That Reagan is enormously influencial, his
foes and advocates both agree.

Reagan talks "cut, cut, cut", "trim the fat", etc... Why? so he can repay
the debt? Hell no! It's so he can fill *his* pork barrels. I don't want
my children paying my credit card bills. But I'll tell you one thing.
Nothing incenses me more than knowing my children will be paying dearly
for military technology whose use is absurd and unthinkable. This is
what Reagan, Weinberger, Schultz, Meese, Larry, Curly, Moe, and Shemp
propose.

And those, Drewzle-poozle, are my thoughts
