Such women can live for a few years in a fantasy world. It's tragic when the music stops and they have to face the real world. I know a woman who is going through this transition now; after a few years as a sort of hanger-on doing odd jobs in the recording industry, she finds herself in her late twenties with a seven year old son, no money, and no marketable skills. She's not dumb -- but she's never had to apply herself over a long period of time, and doesn't know how. Sad. JN
