You all might want to know before you rush out to buy the AlphaSyntauri
system that they went out of business last spring. However, there is a till
active users' group and third party support in software for it.

If you really want an AplhaS. system, you may get one if you are lucky from
overstock in ex-dealers' warehouses. I recieved a generous offer from such an
ex-dealer: $900 for the 5 octave keyboard, pedals,
music cards (Mountain) and all the software that AlphaSyntauri ever sold.
I passed it up, because I had already bought a Yamaha CX5M with which I am more
satisfied than other people seem to be, judging from their opinions
expressed in this newsgroup. It is partially true that you can't use it as a
MIDI slave, but if you are willing to get the technical manual, the BIOS
listings and know Z80, you can do quite a few impressive things with it.
