We adults translate them to "status and respect" by a function such as status = (green + 10 * gold) ^ platinum where each color is 1 by default and is 2 if you own one. These magic constants/formula vary from individual to individual. (.-.) I don't own any of them since my "cheap" department stores won't take AMEX. Depressing enough , Macy/Bamberger/Bloomingdale won't take may gold Visa either ; what a "class" struggle going on here.
