Many people know how great the best solid state preamps are, like the Spectral DMC-10 Gamma, Krell PAM-1, Levinson ML-7 & 6's. What I am looking for is: does anyone have personal experience with comparisons of preamps that sound close to the above elite group but are priced at 700.00 - 1500.00 ? (preamps like Bryston 1B, the new 1250.00 Krell, Spectral DMC-5, Audio Research SP-7 et. al.) I am trying to add opinions to some that I have already formed. Any input would be appreciated! If the feedback seems interesting, I will publish the results. David S. Mohler AT&T - ISL @ Denver !drune!mohler "At the approach of daybreak... the tweeks disappear.
