Or, the other side of the coin--

     When I post a general-interest SHORT(< 1 screen) article to net.micro,
why do I get a bunch of flames telling me to go elsewhere? I own a TI-99/4A
and I have had occasion to post articles requesting info on such topics as--

	0. Connecting a composite video monitor to a particular video-display
IC(TMS9918 in this case). There are other computers that use this
	    chip, I'm sure.

	1. Questions on programming techniques(generating position
	    independent code).

	2. Handling a printer from a computer through a parallel output
port(Intel 8255) and what happens when its internal buffer
fills up(the manual didn't say anything about this). How many
people can identify with this question?

It really does burn me when people post Mac and PC articles in net.micro
and I get told to "get a REAL computer" or "go elsewhere with this drivel
about toys". Of course some of the responses have been quite humorous and
therefore enjoyable to read, and some have been extremely helpful, but the
elitism I sometimes get really does bother me.
