My primary concern is that the camera be an automatic, but I also would like to play around with it manually once I learn how to use it. I also want really crisp sharp pictures (doesn't everybody? :-) ). I am very impressed with some shots that I have seen from a Nikon FE-something. Is there a large preference towards Nikon? I'd also like to keep it under $300. Any suggestions? I am more or less a novice, but I want something that will be flexible.
