R+D, Santa Monica Lines: 29 Xref: watmath net.misc:8184 net.news.group:3216 net.flame:10952 I have been having a running discussion with Alex Quilici (yes, of ucla-cs fame!) about what the purpose of net.flame is. In his latest message to me, he pointed out that it was academic what we felt, it is important what the consensus of the net is. I agree (even though my conception of net.flame differs from Alexs). So, I propose the question, W H A T I S Y O U R I M P R E S S I O N O F T H E P U R P O S E O F N E T . F L A M E? Please respond, preferably by Email. I will summarize Email responses and post the results to net.news.group. Note that, although I have my opinion in the matter, I will try and be impartial and not reply to letters sent me. Authors will be credited with their works. Abusive articles will go to the bit bucket. Decorum is appreciated.
