Bite the bullet and buy the Sears 3-speed, 14gal/day model, as recommended in Consumer Reports. It cost us $100, but was much quieter than anything else we tried, and can be cranked up to humidify a substantial fraction of the home. On diapers: Buy long gauze diapers with no fancy overlaps or folds. That way you can fold them in quarters, thirds, sixths, and (doubled) in half, as your child grows. Ask a nurse in the maternity ward (or prenatal classes) to teach you all the ways of folding. Bob Schwanke Siemens Research Princeton, NJ 08540-6668 seismo!princeton!siemens!rws
