Q: how many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

A: I think the fundamental issue here is not the physical act (We're
SURREALISTS for God's {or Somebody's} sake! What would we be doing
associated with physical acts?) but rather the perception of the lessened
light-presence associated with the dimming of the bulb. How would we respond
under such conditions? This depends rather heavily on the mood of the
light-presence remaining, doen't it? We can't simply go running out for
another GE Miser, we must experience the essence of the recent death.
Isn't it comforting to know that when your light dims, your friends
will be there to experience it with you?

We acknowledge, of course, that the ultimate experience can only be had
once. After that, you're jaded, and experience as a fundamental concept
has less meaning. But after that, we still have consolation: reading
the Lapp translations of the Aristotlean commentaries of the lesser
Portugese philosophers, Knitting three-fingered gloves, and snubbing
Dali who has forsaken all that he might have stood for and gone
sooooooooooo commercial. Filthy luchre is a terrible thing. It gets
in the way of what is right.

And so my answer: how many to change a light bulb?
