Last month he bought from Jade, in California, a Tandon drive to be his second drive. The new drive works fine as a drive one. But in the dual drive configuration with the dip switches set for two drives and the jumper pulled from the first drive and a DOS disk in drive one, the system starts up in cassette BASIC. IBM can only suggest major reconstructive surgery. Any suggestions would be appreciated (in helping bridge the generation gap). Jim Bradley
