The problem with this scenario is that the victim is lying on the witness
stand (or horribly confused).  Choosing to do something because you're going
to be killed or maimed if you don't is neither "peaceful" nor "of your own
free will."  The appropriate term is "forced."

The main point of the discussion is, I believe, whether it's best to stop
fighting back when you realize that you're going to be killed if you
continue.  This ties in with the "better dead than raped" issue, and the
more general "death before dishonor" attitude.  Everyone gets to make up
his/her own mind about these issues, but try not to forget that none of the
strategies for living through an encounter with a rapist are guaranteed --
ALL of them go horribly wrong from time to time.  Smug netters who say, "All
you have to do is ________" don't know what they're talking about.
