Gosling's paper contains an extensive discussion of the cost matrix technique for optimal screen refresh, which should be of interest to all text editor implementors. Algorithms are presented in a pascal-like pseudo-code, and should not be difficult to convert to C to retrofit into many existing editors, if the editor does not already use a similar technique. -- Oz [all wizardesque side effects are totaly unintentional, unless stated otherwise..] Usenet: [decvax | allegra | linus | ihnp4] !utzoo!yetti!oz Bitnet: oz@ [yuleo | yuyetti] ------------- Support GNU.
