Back in January (or so), I posted an inquiry about the availability
of the original Crowther/Woods Adventure game for the Apple ][.
Many people responded helpfully, and many others wanted to know
about it. The following is a summary of the helpful responses.
I've effaced phone numbers and personal mailing addresses, but not
Usenet addresses. If if you want to contact one of these helpful
people, do it through electronic mail, don't bug them on the phone.

One note: I've heard a rumor that the Microsoft Adventure is no longer
sold. Since I was carrying out this whole survey on behalf of a friend,
I haven't investigated this directly.

I have a copy. It was translated into assembly from the original fortran
but it is complete in every way. You can either call me up directly or you
can send me a disk. Write me and tell me how you would like it.

As you've probably heard by now, the Microsoft Adventure is a
completely faithful rendition of the Crowther & Woods adventure. Try
your Apple dealer ......

If Rainbow Computing still exists, they carry the original. Also try Creative
Computing. I think they also sell it.

to obtain the original crowther and woods adventure, you can do two things:

a. pirate it. i have a copy, if you can't buy it anywhere else. i suppose it's
become sort of public domain. *or*,

b. buy it. try this first; it's legal and honest.

>Where can I obtain a version of the original Crowther/Woods (?)
>Adventure game suitable for the Apple ][e or ][c?
I have a copy of it. I cannot remember where I originally got it from
It will only run in DOS 3.2 and I haven't used that diskette for ?4
years so it may or may not still work. If you send me a blank disk and
postage and mailer I will send it or a copy to you.
