A few years ago on television I saw Jane Goodard, the woman
who studies apes. She said that she observed a marauding band
of female apes that stole the young from other apes and killed them.
They were in a frenzy. It struck me as being like the story of
Bacchi in Greek mythology. The Bacchi got drunk on wine and
rampaged trough the forests devouring small animals. In one
story they devoured one woman's son.
