The radio tuning part is on a stalk that sticks up. I've never seen one but I've heard its pretty awsome. Most car radios in europe have longwave, but SW is less common. I am also looking for a car stereo type installation, and would like shortwave capability, but thats not in demand in the US apparently. I have an MFJ converter, but thats really not very satisfactory (and requires an analog tuned radio to work) -JCP-
