Message-ID: <411@terak.UUCP> Date: Thu, 28-Feb-85 15:28:33 EST Article-I.D.: terak.411 Posted: Thu Feb 28 15:28:33 1985 Date-Received: Sat, 9-Mar-85 11:36:12 EST Distribution: net Organization: Terak Corporation, Scottsdale, AZ, USA Lines: 31 Just started reading this net and wondered if anyone out there remembers or was involved in the following... I believe it was spring of 1968. NBC had issued rumors that Startrek's third season would be cancelled. I was an undergrad at Cal Tech at the time, and a member of a group of confirmed Trek junkies. The times seemed to favor rallies, noise and general conspicuousness. A group at Cal Tech (of which I admit being a member) made the arduous trip from Pasadena to Burbank to raise hell before the NBC studio building. Armed with placards and girlfirends, we arrived in the early evening. I recall that we got the attention of a middle manager and of one of the minor characters from the cast. Of course, we felt we had a major impact on the decision to continue for a third season (we also had an even bigger impact on the beer stores in the area). The rest is history. NBC continued the third season, which, I feel, contains the highest density of Startrek bombs of all the seasons. Does anyone in netville remember more details? Was anyone else there? Are you there? Am I here? -- Quite sincerely, ...still waiting for the electrician, Dennis Kodimer or someone like him. uucp: ...{decvax,hao,ihnp4,seismo}!noao!terak!dennis phone: 602 998 4800 us mail: Terak Corporation, 14151 N 76th street, Scottsdale, AZ 85260
