This says it all. NO! It is NOT a valid goal to better the lot of previously oppressed GROUPS. There is NO MORAL DIFFERENCE between oppressing an individual of a generally priviledged group and oppressing an individual of a generally oppressed group. I'm not about to try to argue in favor of this ethical position here; I just note that there is little point in political arguments on this issue without an ethical basis.
