A large portion of the course concerned itself with visual presentation of information on terminals. There was nothing on the design of a terminal from the perspective of the hardware designer per se, but there was a lot of information that would assist a person in choosing among terminals for some particular project. In general, I liked the course and would recommend it to others. Data poisoning overcame me at some points and the organization of material could have been improved. It presented material on: Human Performance How to study human-computer interaction Human Factors of Interfaces Methodology for creating interfaces Guidelines techniques, interaction tasks and devices visual presentation software tools Richard Pew and Jim Foley were the instructors. Pew was a better lecturer; Foley had more information (perhaps, too much). Both were very competent and experienced. -- _ Peter Benson | ITT Defense Communications Division (619)578-3080 | 10060 Carroll Canyon Road decvax!ittvax!dcdwest!benson | San Diego, CA 92131 ucbvax!sdcsvax!dcdwest!benson |
