   You are probably aware of these two publications but I will
mention them anyway just in case.

   For short line information Rand McNally's Handy Railroad
Atlas of the US which has a table of Railroads and home citys in
the back including 3 short lines of 6 miles or less in Rhode
Island.

   For "passenger" lines The Steam Passenger Service Directory
which lists about a dozen small RR's in New England.
