Mikes snobery is totally out of line ... he totally ignored the argments
presented by others and then presents guidelines outside reality.

YES, you should use the RIGHT tool for the job, GIVEN A PARTICULAR
HOST FOR THE JOB.

	CASE 1: I have a dozen industrial controllers with 2k ram and
		basic in a rom .. BASIC is the BEST language for the
		JOB! .... PERIOD!

	CASE 2: A some local kids like computers and have an Atari 800
		with rom basic that they have learned to do simple
		programs on. Giving them programs written in C, Pascal,
		Cobol, or LISP is wasting THEIR time plus mine.
		For them BASIC is the best language for the JOB.
		PERIOD!

Now can we be done with this and get on to real issues?
