Lines: 26 Re: the discussion of birth control missing in films - in general, I agree. It's a pretty sorry situation that such an important issue receives so little attention. But nobody's ever accused Hollywood of being responsible. I can think of two "youth-oriented" films where birth control is at least mentioned. There is a scene in "Porkies" where Pee-Wee gets in trouble for wearing a condom during his date with the school tramp; it seems he put it on even before he went to pick her up. When they actually start to "get down to business", he's already wearing the thing. Naturally, she's a little upset at his presumptiousness, and proceeds to get her revenge. There was also a recent film on cable, I think entitled "Boarding School"?, where the hero and heroine drive together to a drug store to get the necessary supplies before their big weekend away. When they get there, he's too embarrassed to go in, so she has to buy the condoms (and in the process meets the principle of her high school, but that's a whole 'nother story). So there you have it; one film when the guy was *too* prepared :-), and one where the guy seemed concerned at first, but the gal had to end up taking charge when it came down to the nitty gritty. Not that *I* actually saw either of these trashy pictures, mind you :-). Al Figura @ Bellcore "Happiness is a warm Aardvark"
