YES, you should use the RIGHT tool for the job, GIVEN A PARTICULAR HOST FOR THE JOB. CASE 1: I have a dozen industrial controllers with 2k ram and basic in a rom .. BASIC is the BEST language for the JOB! .... PERIOD! CASE 2: A some local kids like computers and have an Atari 800 with rom basic that they have learned to do simple programs on. Giving them programs written in C, Pascal, Cobol, or LISP is wasting THEIR time plus mine. For them BASIC is the best language for the JOB. PERIOD! Now can we be done with this and get on to real issues? -- John Bass DMS Design (System Performance and Arch Consultants) {dual, fortune, idi, hpda}!dmsd!bass (408) 996-0557
