I am about to start work on a multiprocessor un*x kernel which includes
the concept of batch scheduling. (That is seperating processes into
seperate classes with different resource requirements, and then scheduling
appropriately.)

Can anyone point me at previous attempts to solve this problem, or
share their own experience?

Please reply directly to me, and if there is enough interest, I will
summarize for the net.
