Well, I went looking for a Walkman a little while ago. If you have the
money, get a WM DC2. It's the best play-only Walkman you can get. Has
Dolby B/C, a real head, low wow and flutter and you can shake the thing
around as much as you want with no effect to the music playing. It's
essentially the fourth refinement of the Walkman 2 line, and has very
similar guts, with the exception of the quartz crystal driven DD motor
and the better head. I owned a WM 2 for three years, and it seems that
Sony has worked out many of the bugs. The DC2 has great stereo separation.
It's one of the two "Walkman Professional" models. (The Walkman DD and
the Sports Walkman are also WM 2 derived models.)

It's good enough that I can dub tapes (for other people!) from it on to
my Nak. I just lose some high frequencies.
