It is non-existant, at least in terms of age.  Most of the people on
this net are either IN college or very freshly OUT of it.  Therefore,
the majority of you live in or near large communities.  You see most
of the women reacting to the use of "girl" as a bad term.

In reality, the difference between a girl and a woman is mental, and
I am not referring to "maturity" here. More like:  Are those females
conservative (old fashioned) or liberal (modern, progressive, feminists)?
In the rural community (desert city, pop.~8000) where I live, most women
(even as old as 80) can be heard referring to themselves as "girls."
They are not trying to prove anything and appear to be satisfied with
their lives and their terminology "as is."    All the flack I hear about
being a "woman" and not a "girl" comes from those who live in bigger
cities and DEMAND CHANGE in their lives (i.e., they NEED a dividing line).
