I take great exception to your implication that California is the standard Granola-bowl, full of fruits, nuts, and flakes. Just because we happen to have what is probably the highest concentration of these types in the nation does *not* mean that *everyone* in California is hyping the vegetarian/holistic/meditation/prayer/est/what-have-you approach. When I'm sick, I go to an M.D. I try to keep myself well-fed and well-rested, as well as aware of what is and isn't serious, as judged by a competent doctor. I read articles that address health issues, I watch PBS programs on health, and I resent the assumption by so many back-Easterners that all Californians are crackers. I sincerely hope that I'm just being over-sensitive, and that you don't really believe that Californians are what the media depicts us to be.
