Thought some of you might find this interesting...

Paraphased from the Asbury Park Press(Associated Press)
The divorce rate dropped between 1981 and 1982 for the first
time in 20 years. The rate dropped from 5.3 per 1,000 population
in 1981 to 5.0 per 1,000. The drop of 6% was steeper than any
drop since right after WWII. No one is really willing to conjecture
on why the drop has occurred but some people feel it is because
people are waiting longer to get married in the first place.
Later marriages result in fewer divorves. Young marriages just
seem to be more unstable. This would seem reasonable, since the
older you get the pickier you get and you probably know what you
want and wait until you get it. The drop could also be because
less people are getting married to begin with.
