You bet they've gone!  Spending an afternoon in Central Park is like being a
penguin on an ice floe waiting for the first one to be pushed off to test the
waters for sea lion, killer whales, etc.  In the park you have to keep moving
to lessen your chances of being picked off!

Do you actually ask people to go to Central Park with you?  No wonder you're
"not too good at picking up dates".  They must think you want to "etc." them.
