In particular, I'm interested in how this data is encoded, and what what formats are used to represent transmitted information (text, control characters, etc). In this area, I believe that the only place you can find this type of equipment is Sears, and they want $279 for the converter. Is anyone aware of other sources for this and similar devices? Mailed responses will be most appreciated, and I will mail my findings to anyone who requests them.
