My present coverage exempts flight all together. The AVEMCO policy is about the best I have found. Cost is $50 per year for $250,000 liability and you can purchase modest "hull" coverage for $50 to cover the $1000 deductable that most planes have. Two persons on our field have had to use their coverage and found AVEMCO to be very prompt and even covered the repair to the fence that the plane took out. As for life insurance, talk to your insurance man (person). When I first started flying, Prudential wanted an "extra" $10 per year to extend the coverage to flying until I had 100 hours. My current policy with my employer has no aviation exclusion at all. Don't fly without insurance! AVEMCOs number is 1 (800) 638-8440.
