One move to mate. ... q/q1-q4 No hope in sight for mighty-machine, --> However, this desperate move took him OVER AN HOUR to complete. 21. q/kr6-kr8+ Gotcha! Resign Seems like he ought to say more. I am posting this to contact anyone who might have encountered similar response from the chess in BSD 4.2; especially someone who might fix it! I know it must be embarrassing for the bits to loose, but to use over an hour of time to realize that the mate was inevitable is just poor etiquet; both I and the CPU were abused. If the author is out there, you might use this case to expedite a loosing situation. Also, this game's end is a hint to those who would tangle with this particular chess program. He is very long sighted for balanced attacks but this intelligence is lost when lopsided trades are offered. -- Quite sincerely, ...still waiting for the electrician, Dennis Kodimer or someone like him. uucp: ...{decvax,hao,ihnp4,seismo}!noao!terak!dennis phone: 602 998 4800 us mail: Terak Corporation, 14151 N 76th street, Scottsdale, AZ 85260
