Many of the writers and editors use vi, and have found that attempts to use dd or any other delete functions scramble the screen output, requiring the extra step of a ^l to redraw it. Supposedly, the vi310 emulates the DEC vt100. The manual, however, indicates that DEC emulation can only be accomplished on the "lesser" model (the vi300). I was recently supplied with a termcap program for the vi310 which, when installed, creates even more on-screen problems in vi than does the vt100 "emulation." Any help would be appreciated; and I'll attempt to answer whatever questions I can. -- Ken Wolman Bell Communications Research @ Livingston, NJ lcuxc!kenw You can't "read" me because I'm not a book.
