I am interested in DYI maintenance on a couple of 5 1/4" 48 tpi floppy
drives (Tandon TM 100-2). Is it possible to do all necessary alignment
with a digital alignment disk and appropriate software (eg. Dysan's
Interrogator)? Is an oscilloscope necessary?

For a H/Z-100, is Zenith's Disk-based Diagnostic software + digital
alignment disk ($70+$60) sufficient for the job? How does this compare
with Dysan's Interrogator ($140 incl. disk)?

Comments, suggestions would be appreciated. I will post a summary if
the response is sufficient.
			Thanks,
