I can only assess the motives of individuals whom I have observed and discussed the issue with, not the whole group. I have found people with motives I admire and those with motives I dislike on both sides of the issue. Motives can be good or bad in themselves and don't necessarily deterimine whether the individual's stand on the issue is incorrect.
