Message-ID: <386@leadsv.UUCP> Date: Thu, 28-Feb-85 01:02:24 EST Article-I.D.: leadsv.386 Posted: Thu Feb 28 01:02:24 1985 Date-Received: Mon, 4-Mar-85 04:57:09 EST Distribution: net Organization: LMSC-LEADS, Sunnyvale, Ca. Lines: 44 I am a new person on the net, and I have been reading all this stuff about the definition of love. I am a recent Purdue EE grad (GO BOILERS!!), and I've never had a "SO" before. I just accepted a job offer in silicon valley and thought that by moving away from the campus life (I'm 25 now), that things would change and I would meet someone. I discovered that the real world is not as I expected. The women out here are the same as anywhere, NOT INTERESTED!! I'm really not looking, I'm just keeping my eyes open (But I'm convinced that I'll never meet anyone because no one exists for me, NO FLAMES PLEASE, I've been through all this before with friends). The biggest problem is that I have NO family or friends out here (I'm originally a Hoosier). Since I'm the lonelest person in the universe, I'll share with all you singles another definition of love that keeps me going through day-to-day existance: ******** * LOVE * ******** Although Love is always what we really want, we are often afraid of Love without consciously knowing it, and so we may act both blind and deaf to Love's presence. Yet, as we help ourselves and each other let go of fear, we begin to experience a personal transformation. We start to see beyond our old reality as defined by the physical senses, and we enter a state of clarity in which we discover that all minds are joined, that we share a common Self, and that inner peace and Love are in fact all that are real. LOVE, THEN, IS LETTING GO OF FEAR. We can choose our own reality. Because our will is free, we can choose to see and experience the the truth. We can experience the truth of our reality as Love. To do this, we must, each instant, refuse to be limited by the fearful past and future and by the questionable "realities" we have adopted from our culture. We can choose to experience this instant as the only time there is, and live a reality of NOW. -Jerry Jampolsky I don't know about all you other single.NETTERS, but this is my favorate definition of love I've ever heard. Maybe someone else has read it before; if you have, let me know. -Bruce Speidel {leadsv!speidel}
