< HERE Choke on this : RCA VKP-900>

I purchesed the RCA VKP-900 video recorder, and have been fairly
satisfyed with it except for one main thing. I am using it as the
tuner to my video monitor (it works fairly well!) but when I remove
the tape deck section from the tuner/base, I can no longer use the tuner.
I would like to use my tuner-monitor to watch t.v. while the tape
recorder is disconnected and being used to record with the camera.
I feel sure that if I could make a dummy plug to plug in to the connector
where the tape deck disconnects, I might trick the tuner section into
functioning.

Has any one identifyed what each of the twenty pins are for.. have
any of you thought about doing the same thing to your tuner/base?

Any rational suggestions would be concitered.......................
I will post enmass an edited version of what ever responces I receive.
