I'm planning to buy a synthesizer within the next year.
However, I've only looked and played with the Yamaha DX-7.
I'm very impressed with the sound and the machine's features.
(I'm a better programmer than musician.) If I had the money, I'd
be tempted to buy it today. Some reasons (besides the above):

	* Good reviews from magazines, dealers, and others
	  on the net.

	* More ads from third party suppliers selling products
geared toward the DX-7 than any other machine.

Unfortunately (or fortunately?), I don't have the cash yet, and
deep down inside I know I should look at a few more synths before
deciding what to buy. Keyboard magazine has ads for lots of
nifty-looking digital synthesizers other than Yamaha.

But before embarking on this "try them all" trek, I thought I'd
ask if any one would like to comment on the DX-7 or any other
machine with which he or she has had some experience. You're
opinions would be appreciated! Thanks.
