Back in 1964 I had AR-2 speakers. When AR came out with
the AR-2a, they offered a very reasonablly priced
upgrade kit to AR-2 owners.
The principal upgrade was replacing to cone tweeters
with dome tweeters.
This of courde involved removing the grill.
Since there was no way of doing that without ruining
the grill cloth, a new one was included in the kit.
