To enable you to use disconnectable terminals on your system, (From the VMS 4.0 release notes, page 4-9): $ RUN SYS$SYSTEM:SYSGEN CONNECT VTA0 /NOADAPTER /DRIVER=TTDRIVER 2. For the terminals you can then enable individual terminal lines that you want to have the ability to disconnect with: SET TERMINAL TTxx: /DISCONNECT /PERMANENT The SET TERMINAL command must be done for a terminal that is not logged in, i.e. you cannot set your own terminal disconnectable while you are running. If you want all your terminals to have this ability by default, you can probably make that happen by setting the appropriate bit in the SYSGEN parameter TTY_DEFCHAR2 (hex 20000). -- Gail Rubin (grubin@bbn-unix)
