This cheapness was only on a couple of low-end Sanyo VCRs; all other Beta VCRs keep the tape threaded around the head drum at all times. I have since read that Sanyo has dropped the cheaper loading mechanism on all of their current models. (The cheapness comes from only needing one motor instead of two, from what I read.) Steve Lionel
