Summary: I said, separate *US domestic* from *all else*

Let me try again. The very first separation should be US DOMESTIC issues
from EVERYTHING ELSE. There should be no such group as net.politics.us.
Either leave net.politics alone, or start with:

US domestic	net.politics.us-dom	[or perhaps us-us]
	international	net.politics.world	[or us-them? :-) ]

So Craig's example goes in net.politics.world. You know, if this split
happened, I might even start reading (part of) net.politics again.

No comments about 14-character names, please; the net decided some time ago not
to worry about total length of newsgroup names, e.g. net.religion.christian.

Actually, I have an alternative proposal, but I don't think it would work
too well. That's to use the usa distribution, and create usa.politics for
US domestic issues. In Canada we have can.politics and not net.politics.can,
and it works fine. But I don't think the net is quite ready for a real live
usa.* group... and besides, some people outside the US are interested in its
domestic politics, which is more or less untrue of Canada.

Icemelons, of course.
