Well - it appears now I will probably be spending an extended period of
time in europe next year (hear that paul?) and I have a couple questions:

1. Does anybody have any good recommendations concerning short-wave radios?
cu's last report was several years ago. Many years ago when I spent a summer
in germany I had a much appreciated radio-shake cheepy, but it has since
been ripped off. What's good these days?

2. I am thinking about buying a car over there. Does anybody know how this
works? has anybody done it before? are there names of firms you have
dealt with? How does it compare to buying a car over here?

thanks. tim budd, dept. of cs, the univ. of arizona.
