A bit of trivia I discovered some time ago (slipped my mind, somebody set
my Bozo Bit). I have found at least ONE implication of the bozo bit: try
the Send File menu command from MacTerminal: it will offer to upload anything
visible, even if it's "copy protected," right? Now go and use the facility
of your choice (Set File, or FEdit, there are others) to set the Bozo bit on
anything visible, and try again: MacTerminal will no longer offer the
Bozo'd file as an upload choice.

I have not done the experiment to see if this is a feature of MacTerminal or
an undocumented feature of the Standard File Package; Inside Mac is mute on
the subject.

Anybody from Apple want to let us in on the gag?
