Programming includes upgrading and maintenance of seismic data analysis programs, graphic time series analysis programs and general scientific / system programming. System operation includes helping unsophisticated users, general administration, accounting, and purchasing for the Seismology Computer Center. Candidate must come from a UNIX environment, be fluent in both Fortran 77 and C and have a willingness to work with users. A B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Math, Seismology, or related hard science is necessary. Experience with UNIX system programming helpful. Lamont is a research institution located about 15 miles outside New York City on the grounds of an old estate overlooking the Hudson River.
