Lines: 22 [Sing ho for the life of a bear!] Several people have mentioned meeting friends as well as SO's via the net. On the bitnet, this is, I expect, even more common than on Usenet due the the message facility. I have met many people via net conversations, including my best friend here. Several people have had 'relationships' via the network without ever really meeting each other for many months. At least one couple was well on the way to getting married before they ever met face to face. I find this sort of thing very interesting in that I have many friends now who I have never met or even talked to on the phone. What sort of implications are there in an electronic friendship? How does it compare to 'the real thing', or is it just as real? What does the net think? I'm interested in finding out. -- --Scott Dickson User Consultant uucp: {allegra, ihnp4, akgua}!gondor!dickson Bitnet: {allegra, akgua,ihnp4}!psuvax1!BSD@PSUVM.BITNET
