No typo here...
The engine in the '65 Vette was indeed a 396 425 Horse.  This engine
was available in 1965....  the 427 was not generally available then.
The 425 HP 396 in 65 'Vettes was basically the same as the L-78
375 HP 396 found in later cars.  I believe the only real difference
was a minor change in in the carburetor used.  The 425 HP 396 was
also installed in a very few 1965 Chevelles, as the fabled Z-16 option.
