I, too, asked the same questions!  Although I am still a Goldie Hawn fan
and found the movie to be enjoyable, the missing scenes from the TV
promotion make me feel like I "was had."

When Goldie showed up at the barbecue party dressed in casual clothes and
everyone else was wearing formal attire the scene ended.  I still wonder
what went on.
