Zarcone asked if the music from "Beyond the Limit" was borrowed from "Outer Limits." Actually I think that the program being asked about is "One Step Beyond." When "Outer Limits" went to its second season on original broadcasts, the new musical theme sounded a lot like the one that I used to hear on "One Step Beyond." On investigation I discovered that both themes were written by Harry Lubin and were stylistically similarly, but not identical. I often hear one piece of music by a film composer and find it reminds me a lot of other pieces by the same man. Parts of HIGH ROAD TO CHINA sound a lot like parts of KING KONG (the 1976 version) (both by John Barry). Much of Maurice Jarre's IS PARIS BURNING? sounds much like his DR. ZHIVAGO to me (both use rapidly stroked strings sounding almost like banjos. (In the case of ZHIVAGO they are probably balalaikas). Many of Miklos Rosza's scores sound very similar (almost overpowering). I guess it is just like Van Gogh had a painting style that is easily recognizable as his, composers also have consistent styles. Lubin's music in the two TV series is very similar; I guess it is a single quavering tone that I remember from both. (Evelyn C. Leeper for) Mark R. Leeper ...ihnp4!lznv!mrl
