	I have Smart 64 Terminal and it has some nice features (.img to
	program, text to basic, local dos commands, data capture and
	extract) but mine doesn't have vt52 emulations.  A program I
	obtained from Compuserve called TERM-80 does (and can emulate
	80 columns in graphics).  Term-80 works well with the 2 termcap
	entries provided.

	XMOBUF (C64 Xmodem/Vidtex-type program) is excellent for
	transferring files with umodem (Unix Xmodem) but doesn't have
	a terminal emulation program built in.  Neither do any of the
	'punter' protocol telecommunications programs I use to access
	C64 BBS's.  

	Of course the program I am really enthusiastic about is Kermit
	for the C64 (also known as Kermit-65) and I will post a review
	to the newsgroup after I have tried and evaluated it.  I am
	bootstrapping the program now - the documentation provides
	details of many more features than many commerical programs -
	Kermit packet protocol, local dos commands, vt52 emulation,
	communications with a server on the mainframe and the ability
	to use baud rates greater than 1200 (I will try this on a
	direct RS232 connection and see if the c64 can keep up at 1800
	and 2400 baud).  All in 6502 assembly language.

		I can send documentation on the various programs
		mentioned here.
