What's in store for the Bearcat scanner product	line
after its aquisition by Uniden?	An article about the
upcoming Consumer Electronics show	in the December	1984
     issue of "Consumer	Electronics" relates:

"The company [Uniden]	is also	displaying two new
Uniden Bearcat scanners, which will	be available
for shipment in the third quarter of 1985."

"'We're hoping to revolutionize the scanner radio
business in	the U.S. with a sizable engineering
commitment to redesign the	table top or	syn-
thesized scanner,' Mulhall [consumer	group Execu-
tive VP] says. New models being shown at CES
include a fully synthesized table top	programmable
scanner with a suggested list	of $99	and a	han-
dheld scanner with a suggested retail price
	  between $99 and $149."

     As for Fox Marketing:

"The company will also introduce three programma-
ble scanners later in	1985, and prototypes will be
	  on display at	CES...."
