I have bought some stuff from The Essentials in the past. Their regular
prices are not too great, even though you can usually get 20% off on
your total order and this might beat local audiophile-salon prices.
However, if you find things that you want in their closeout or discontinued
items section, and THEN get the 20% off (I think this is nominally an
"initial-order" discount), the prices work out to be fairly good.

(My price standards are rather rigorous, I admit -- I figure that
what a dealer pays at CES for sample copies is the "fair" price. This
is usually about half retail, and hard to get unless you have contacts.)

Anyway, I've had no complaints about delivery or service from my
dealings with The Essentials. I've received their catalogs for some
time now, though I haven't ordered recently.

Regards,
Will Martin
