An article about the upcoming Consumer Electronics show in the December 1984 issue of "Consumer Electronics" relates: "The company [Uniden] is also displaying two new Uniden Bearcat scanners, which will be available for shipment in the third quarter of 1985." "'We're hoping to revolutionize the scanner radio business in the U.S. with a sizable engineering commitment to redesign the table top or syn- thesized scanner,' Mulhall [consumer group Execu- tive VP] says.
