(Disclaimer: I am NOT yet a parent)
In a recent mailing from my dentist, he warned against propping babies
with bottles in their mouths; it seems that the practice can lead to unnecessary
tooth decay.  (Something about the baby going to sleep with unswallowed
food still available to the decay germs in the mouth.)
 
Incidentally, whose advice was this?
