It is quite the mark of a provincial person who judges all history according to the latest fads and cliches of his own little culture. Since the Athens of Pericles there had never come together such a collection of great people as did in the late 18th century in the 13 colonies. Never since has this country had the benefit of such intellects to guide its affairs. The current crop of politicians seems to be composed of psychopaths and pussy lawyers.
