From Dave Seifert (mako!seifert):

You do a lot better than I; you're one of the most gentle, loving, caring
men I've ever met.

My comments about Lafayette, Purdue, and Indiana dealt not with the culture,
but with the type of people that constitute the bulk of the population of
this state and city (Lafayette, the farm & factory city, not West Laf., the
university town), and who I thus cannot avoid contact with. They seem
complacent in stupidity. Are people like this everywhere? I don't remember
them being this way outside the Midwest. (Note that there are happy
exceptions; some of the most beautiful people of the highest integrity I
have ever known have been Hoosiers; but unfortunately the other side of
the coin is the one that usually comes up.)

No, no. These doorstops are failed memory modules, being about
6.5"x6"x3.5"; they contain thousands of ferrite cores, which makes them
amply heavy to serve as doorstops!
