I too have spent some thought on this matter.  In searching the various
religions of the world, I find that we all began as light, or awareness.
This awareness must have some way to express.  This way is what we term
love.  Each individual has different types and kinds of experiences, so
the method he chooses to use to express this love is different.  Love is
also the motive force behind creation in the physical.  It, along with
every thing else in the physical can be mis-used.  This mis-use is seen
as sacrificing some thing or belief for the benifit of others.  Love or to
love does not mean giving up anything.  It is a way to add to the total
self through the inter-relation of another person toward a common goal.
However, there is a catch to being able to give love to another person,
or to receive love from another.  That catch is that you must first love
your own self.  You must respect the choices that you have made in the
past, and then respond to what you have created.
