Summary: remote control essential

I find the remote control on my VCR to be its most useful feature and
essential. If you ever use you VCR to time-shift material, then having the
remote control to scan-forward over the commercials is wonderful. This
presumes that the VCR has scan-forward, but most do. I tend to agree with
the programmable memories, I usually only use one event.
