re: the flap about moderated groups, stargate; at best, hercules and
others are overreacting, and i think it is rather childish to even propose
let along carry out some of the things he proposes.  it is true that any
sort of editing or moderating is implicit censorship, but if the moderators
are people of good will, nothing evil is apt to happen.  THAT is why i
proposed that all the moderators (probably a thankless job anyhow) should
be ELECTED and subject to recall by a vote of confidence.  i think that
answers any real concern about a certain mythical "clique" taking over
the net.  btw, how much, mr. hercules, do you pay, personally, for net
access?   STILL optimistic, ernie harkins
