Of course wasps have no legal rights as wasps, just as women have no legal rights as women. Any "equal rights" legislation is just that, equal rights. This legislation is supposed to enforce the rights of women, blacks, etc. as *citizens*, because these groups have not been treated as citizens in the past. As far as women only having to cope with social attitudes ... if you believe that's easier than coping with your perceived lack of legal protection, there are lots of women who would gladly change places. But face it, the "my oppression is worse than your oppression" attitude is just plain icky. Acknowledging that every group has its burdens that it's got to deal with will go a long way towards getting to the root of the problem. Melinda
