In the January '85 issue (#98) of Dr. Dobbs Journal the cover article
is a set of step by step instructions on how to increase the RAM in
a Macintosh to 512K for approx. $300. That price will probably
fluctuate considerably since it is based on the price of 16 256K RAM
chips, which can cost anywhere from "$15 to $45".

The instructions in the article are more than adequate; and include
all necessary photographs, diagrams, warnings, and trouble shooting
information. The article also lists some sources for the necessary chips.
