	- what do you and your SO do for Christmas/New Year's?

AIDS discussion (8 articles)
	- HTLV-3 virus apparently begins infection by latching
onto the protein CD-4 on the surface of T4 cells
(cells which make the immune system work better)
	- HTLV-3 virus can't grow in the absence of T4 cells, so
virus needs another infection to generate T4
cells to provide 'substrate' for growth
	- existence of tests for presence of antibodies to HTLV-3
virus and why such tests aren't in common use
		(possible false positives)
	- positive test for HTLV-3 can mean one of four things:
		1) active HTLV-3 virus present; may develop AIDS
		2) body has fought off infection and is now
			naturally immunized against AIDS
		3) body has been exposed to HTLV-3 and has now
			developed antibodies against HTLV-3
		4) body has been vaccinated against HTLV-3 virus
	- incidence of AIDS:
7000 people meeting surveillance definition have
			been discovered
48% of all known patients have died, including
73% of all patients diagnosed before
			January 1983
	- AMA study (in 1/17/84 JAMA) associated decrease in
immunological response with anal reception of
		sperm

Rock group BRONSKI BEAT (8 articles)
	- cover of American edition has pink triangles on it,
the number of the National Gay Task Force and
list of ages of consent in various countries
	- Canadian version didn't have "age of consent" list
	- cassette tape has pink triangle but no list
	- English import has London number for gay legal advice
	- pink triangle used by concentration camps to identify
homosexuals; evolved into symbol for oppression
		of gays

Showtime's BROTHERS (5 articles)
	- does the show perpetuate 'limp-wristed' stereotype of
		gay people?
	- stereotype considered a general fault of television,
but several series/shows are noted as being
more realistic in their portrayal (Fifth of July,
Making Love, St. Elsewhere, Kate & Allie, Gimme
		a Break)

Nocturnes for the King of Naples (2 articles)
	- music by Haydn, work by Edmund White
