The campus computer center provides support of a large network of UNIX machines used for academic research and instructional programs. Job duties include: Plan, develop, implement and document complex systems; Provide high level systems support and troubleshooting; Modify systems code or direct others to do so to implement fixes, provide new services or support new hardware; Assist in the planning of long-range goals and objectives for UNIX service; Provide occasional on-call maintenance of production systems including filesystem repair and diagnosis of hardware failures. Substantial experience with UNIX (4BSD prefered), programming in C and kernel expertise required. Salary range $38,800-$46,900.
