Lines: 27 Xref: watmath net.games:1456 net.games.rogue:2554 () I verified yesterday that you can tame someone else's dog by leaving it food if you don't hit it first. Hitting it (accidentally) makes it go wild, evidently. In one game I had two dogs running interference for me, Fang II and Fang VI. Fang II was a dog and Fang VI was a little dog. Great game. I had trouble increasing my experiance points because the two dogs would tear anything nasty apart before I could get to it! Speaking of dogs, I have modified my version of Hack so the dog doesn't automatically go wild if you leave him behind on a level. This makes a lot more sense to me, and allows you to duck down (or up) to avoid nastys without losing the little damn dog. Comment out the two lines in routine keepdogs(), 'tame=0' and 'peaceful=0', in file hack.dog.c. This doesn't make the game much easier, just less time consuming and frustrating. The dog may still go wild under other circumstances! On this net.games.hack business, since hack is just another variant of rogue (albeit quite a different one), why don't we simply continue discussions of hack in net.games.rogue? -- Ron Christian (Watkins-Johnson Co.
