I immensely enjoyed last night's 1985 Orange Bowl, for two reasons.

1. I had gotten sick of reading all the stuff on the net.sport.football
about how wonderful OU's football team is.

2. Don James, the Husky coach, has been a long time opponent a playoff
system to determine who's #1. His victory over OU puts him in the
position of either having him to change his mind, or accept the
fact that he's not #1 (assuming that the polls tonight confirm that
BYU maintains their #1 ranking). As someone who favors a post-season
tourney, I hope he reconsiders his position about whether a playoff
    is a good idea.
