I find that it would be very easy to do many usefull things by simply
modifying the very standard printer device driver which resides in a generic
macintosh system disk. For example, adding a simple escape sequence to write
at the printer port would allow the driver to worry about setting up my
laser printer to receive and print bitmaps. I have no assembler source for
such a driver and am dreading disassembling the executable which I have, or
otherwise reinventing the wheel. If anyone has had to write anything which
could be modified to do invisibly do some printer init`s from the device driver,
please post source on the net.
go ahead, make my day!!!
