Yes.  Read Ron Goulart.  He is hilarious (if sometimes a bit darkly so).
I don't mean that it's heavy -- far from it; but a great deal of the
humor derives from things falling apart.  Malfunctioning robot secret
agents.  Hack romance writers who moonlight for the post-Holocaust
CIA.  Editors who have been transformed into apes.  Just pick one at
random.
