Its interesting to note that most, if not all of the folk who have written
notes on the Geotz fiasco are from places OTHER THAN New York City.

As a denizen of The City, I can tell you its no fun when you're face to face
with a bunch of loonies on the IRT #2. In fact its downright scary. How many
times a day do YOU put youself int a dank sardine can to get to and from
work. I don't think what Mr. Goetz did was necessarily right, unless of course
he was threatened. But I do think he has done a LOT to raise the consciousness
of people all over the place. Sort of like "NETWORK" (i.e., I'm mad as *HELL*,
and I am *NOT* going to take it anymore!!) for mass transit riders.
I think that perhaps, if its found he acted in self defense (more or less),
he should be fined the mandatory $500 for carrying an unlicensed handgun, and
made to do 100 or so hours of community service for being a dope and running
away. I think the punks, on the other hand, should be sentanced to 5 years of
cleaning subway cars.
