To all those who are objecting to the use of the word Hindustani for Indians I think certain clarifications are required.. First thing is that none of the people who have objected to the word "Hindustani" are Indians. They are not aware that the word Hindustani does not stand for only the Hindus of India but all the Indians whether they are Hindus,Muslims,Sikhs or any other religion.. If you say that the word "Hindustan" has a pointer to Hinduism I may point out that so does the word India ( Because the word arose simply because the British could not pronounce Hindu easily and so it bacame "Indoo" etc...). In any case I have no objection in addressing it to "Indians" as you define it ,if you feel strongly about it but please note that not one Indian has objected to the use. All those who has flared about the use should note that none of them are familiar with the Indian system and should not object on a use that is not wrong . Mukul agrawal@csd2
