I remember that very recently, I cried. I had not cried since I was about 13.
I was wondering if I would never cry again.

It was a scary feeling at first, because I was so scared that anything that
would make me cry must be something really terrible.

However, after I cried I felt better, and I realized that it's ok to cry --
after you've had a good cry the tensions are relieved. Sometimes if you
are really unhappy you just become more depressed if you shut all the un-
happiness inside of you.

A female friend of mine once told me that she was about to break up with her
boyfriend, and he cried. She was so touched that she didn't break up with
him after all. She thinks that it is good if men cry.

I once heard that men live shorter lives than women because they internalize
all their grief rather than letting it out, and such festering of emotions
ages men more quickly, bringing them closer to death.

Anyhow, I think that a good cry now and then can do good.

(For the record, I wasn't crying because I had broken up with somebody.)
