  I don't like it either but I do understand why they do it. I remember 
enough times when I have been in the right lane at XX MPH and come up
on a car doing XX-5 MPH. I see a car in the mirror approaching at XX+5
so I figure I'll be a nice guy and wait for him to pass. Well he gets even
with the car in front and slows down to XX-5 and I'm stuck for a couple
of miles. 

Moral: nice guys finish last
