Actual actual answer: who are we to say?  Rich seems to think that we can
simply define away this very difficult question.  One could just as well take
the Jesse Helms approach and define life as beginning at conception.
Definition does not equal truth (except maybe in mathematics).

By the way, this should not be construed to mean that I unconditionally 
oppose abortion.
