[is the line eater bug a joke?]
(NOTE: tenpence is an Irish coin worth about 11-12 cents)

A fellow walks into a pub and orders a shot of Jamesons.
The bartender pours and says "That'll be tenpence."
The customer, sure he has heard wrong, says "Tenpence?".
"Sure," says the bartender, "tenpence I said and tenpence I meant!"
so the happy customer pays tenpence and drings his shot.

When he's done, he figures at these prices, how can he lose?
So he says "Bartender! Let me have a double shot of Jamesons!"
The bartender pours the double and says "That'll be tenpence."

The customer by now figures he's stepped into heaven for thwe
evening. "Ok, bartender," he says, "I'd like to buy myself a whole bottle of
Jamesons." The bartender produces a fresh bottle from under the bar and
says "that'll be tenpence"

"Wait a minute!" says the customer. "A shot is tenpence. A double is
tenpence. And a bottle is tenpence, too? how can that be????

"Well," says the bartender, "right now the owner of this pub is home screwing
my wife, so I'm here screwing him!"
