There was an article months and months ago in Billboard about the
various exclusivity agreements.  The approximate way they work is
that a certain percentage of the record company videos are available
to MTV for exclusiveness.  MTV can pick and choose the ones they want.
In return,  the record company gets to pick a few videos (no idea on
the exact number) and place them in MTV's medium or light rotation and
MTV has to do it.
