The old version was slow, and buggy (a compatibility mode version). The new version (written in Whitesmith's C) was also slow and buggy. The support from the manufacturer was less than wonderful. The documentation describing the interface for Basic and C was difficult to decipher. The new version of Oracle was slow enough that the user interface, as well as all of the searching/sorting routines had to be written in C in order to keep the users happy. The manager of the site admitted to me privately that Oracle was a big mistake. Marty Sasaki Havard University Science Center sasaki@harvard.{arpa,uucp} 617-495-1270
