Fortunately, for those of us who have chosen to defend ourselves and
our families (since the police forces of our country have demonstrated
their inability to do it for us), current law and custom do not agree
with Mr. Mitchum.  The test is, "Lethal force is a legally acceptable
response if a reasonable, prudent individual in similar circumstances
would consider himself in danger of serious bodily harm or of losing
his life."

For those of you who choose to rely on the better nature of rapists,
muggers, murderers, thieves, burglars, etc, I have no objections to
you making your own choices.  Please allow me to make mine.
