in regards to the request for fantasy literature with a strong female
protaganist read c.j.cherryh's morgaine trilogy.  it is good solid
work though it is only marginally fantasy (more sf than f).

for those not familiar with c.j.cherryh's work i cannot emphasize
enough how good it is.  read it and have your mind blown.
