Does anybody know why the following message appear and what
I can do to get rid of it:

[EUNICE: Process 900043 has index greater than MAX (40)]

It started to appear a few weeks ago and now it is appearing
more and more frequently.
It comes out sometimes when a command is given, then another
message comes where the 5th digit from the end has increased,
then usually after 5-10 messages it will work again.

Around the same time ps -aux started to give core dumps.

All this started around a week after mkdir mysteriously
started to work again.

A lot of strange things seems to be happening.
