I have  used a remote  mounted  Escort  for two  years  and it has  done
everything I could ask it to do.  I doubt that increased  sensitivity or
better false alarm rejection would make much of a difference.

The major problems I have are not problems that a radar detector could
solve. (e.g. VASCAR -- a timing based system)
