Message-ID: <2110@nsc.UUCP> Date: Mon, 24-Dec-84 17:14:48 EST Article-I.D.: nsc.2110 Posted: Mon Dec 24 17:14:48 1984 Date-Received: Tue, 25-Dec-84 03:11:50 EST Distribution: net Organization: Callahans Lines: 20 Like most of the country, I eagerly awaited the return of Doonebury to my local paper. Having read it since then, I've found that I'm very disappointed in the quality of the work. Perhaps I've been spoiled by Bloom County and friends, but I think that the new Doonesbury simply doesn't have the spark that made it what it was. I've gone back through my archives, and I get the feeling that Trudeau is pushing-- his humor is forced and he is spending too much time on storylines that don't work very well and simply aren't interesting. There have been some good storylines, but overall its been quite disappointing. Am I alone in this feeling? Perhaps I'm simply expecting too much of Doonesbury, but I simply don't think it has survived the time off very well. chuq -- From the ministry of silly talks: Chuq Von Rospach {allegra,cbosgd,decwrl,hplabs,ihnp4,seismo}!nsc!chuqui nsc!chuqui@decwrl.ARPA Deadbone erotica is the prickly panic of forgotten milleniums, it is the moldy billion year madness that creeps deep along the spinal behind of my mind.
