Mail to ...path...!psuvax1!username%nodename.BITNET or to username%nodename.BITNET@psuvax1.UUCP if your mailer knows about domains. > The same question applies to send a message back > from an EEARN site to an UUCPNET site. Your correspondent should mail to username%nodename.UUCP@psuvax1.BITNET. (psuvax1 uses pathalias to find your site.) Your correspondent will have to do some tricky footwork if his/her site is not running a mailer. The exact protocol it to put a message in a file, add RFC822 mail headers, wrap the whole thing in a BSMTP (batch simple mail transfer protocol) envelope, and send the resulting file to UUCP@PSUVAX1 on the BITNET, CLASS=M, PUNCH format. If your correspondent needs help with this, have him/her mail to me direct at my BITNET address. > PS: EEARN means European Academic Research Network > or something like that. EARN is the European Academic and Research Network. There is a hub in each partipating country, and EEARN is the hub for Spain. EARN, BITNET, and NETNORTH (Canada) are parts of a homogeneous network, so you needn't look for a gateway to EARN from BITNET. Once you reach the UUCP/BITNET gateway at Penn State, your mail is within seconds of being delivered. Stephen L. Arnold, Joiner Associates Inc. Mail P.O.
