I would like to propose that a news group be created for music synthesis. I would think that net.music.synth might be a proper classification. This group could service two classes of information on music synthesis. The first being issues concerning the use of commercial synthesizers in terms of both music and technical concerns. The other class would encompass the technical and research issues that form all of computer generated or controlled music. These include synthesis algorithms, acoustics, hardware implementations, software tools (e.g. composition languages) etc. I believe that there is a large number of people that use the net that are either "electronic" or "computer" musicians, or researchers (mostly in universities) of music synthesis. -Ken --- Organization: LEMS (Laboratory for Engineering Man/Machine Systems) Brown University, Division of Engineering USmail: Ken Robbins P.O.
