On the old continent I used listen to different stations (uk, germany, ussr) on wavelengths from 13m to 51m, mainly because commercial stations (and also bbc, radio free europe and voa) broadcast in those bands. But I guess a wider range wouldn't hurt. So, I think I'm looking for a sensitive and selective receiver for under $200(?). I do not know in what flavors they come here, but it could be a stand-alone unit (amp,speaker) or a plain rx pluggable into my stereo system.
