Those who insist on using software end up debugging it no matter how old it is.
Or sometimes just finding the bugs, but not being able to do anything about
them, e.g.:

Remember IBM's "OS"?  Remember Assembler-F ("IEUASM") and "IEBGENER"?  As late
as release 20, I made both of those bomb ("abend") with an 0C4 (which would be
a segmentation fault if IBM had known about virtual memory in those days, or
possibly a bus error, for invalid addressing).

That still leaves open the question:  dp shops and manufacturers and nearly
everyone DO insist on using hardware that's "only" 5 years old, but forget
to make equally "severe" demands about programming languages.
