I just got back from a client's site, where they have been having problems
with some Time & Billing software that they paid much too much for, on the
basis of false promises made by the company, Systematics Data Marketing, Inc.
of Jericho, NY. Apparently, the only reason the client purchased the SDM
product was because each of the competitor's could not do one or two things
(different one for each product). SDM came in and said that they could
do all of it (which to date is untrue), sold them software, and a telephone
support contract, which they are not following up on.

Why am I telling you this? First, to warn anyone who might be considering
the SDM product, and second, because our client (we sold them the hardware),
is about to throw the software out the window, and when that moment comes,
I need to have alternate software ready, or at least have some suggestions
as to good Time & Billing systems. The client is a large CPA firm, running
on an IBM PC/AT with 20 Meg Hard disk and 512K. I would *really* appreciate
any suggestions, even if it's only a product name and manufacturer's phone
number.
