[Pesticidal verbiage]

It looks as though the binhex format is becoming the de-facto standard
for transfer of Mac files. That being the case, I would like to have a
filter which runs on unix to convert to/from Mac binary. Has anyone
written such a beast? If not, can anyone provide me with the specs for
translation to and from binhex format? Specifically the compression scheme
and the crc calculation. It's a real pain to have to translate a file
after downloading it, especially since macput will transfer the binary
which is only about half as big.
