"Ecstasy" starring Hedy Lamarr:

Can anybody give me some info on this movie?
I caught about 45 minutes of it on TV. I know it
was made in 1933 and was considered notorious at the time. It
looked very well made. There was hardly any dialogue but the images
conveyed a very strong sense of passion, almost seemed surreal.
Every once and a while an image, that seemed somewhat disjoint,
was thrown in for about 2 seconds or less, almost subliminally.
I don't know if this was on purpose or just because it was an
old copy (it was in pretty bad shape).
