There is a third (fourth?) area that you left out, chuq. The possibility that perhaps the people that I associate with (friends, business types, etc.) might be of such a level of education (college or better) that these attitudes really are not apparent. After my initial posting here, I gave it quite a bit of thought, and realized this might be the case. The guys who whistle at the women on the street probably DO see them as sex objects. So I retract my earlier flame. Now, of course, the question begs: Is it likely that there are very, very few people on this net who treat others as sex objects?? I think the answer would be YES....we are all probably too well educated, and therefore perhaps too sensitive to do such a thing....(please, no flames about educational snobbery, ok? Some educated people probably do treat others as sex objects, but I'll bet you that the proportion in pretty low compared to the uneducated) Well, I can hope, can't I???? Ross M.
