I used to enjoy a lot of the ZBS and BBC stories on the radio. Recently our
public radio station bought an AM station and felt that the "hi-fi" radio
plays and All Things Considered should live on AM only. Too bad, when I can
hear any of it, in the car or home, the AM station hurts my ears with static,
noise and heterodynes. And I can't even listen to them at work
on my FM only walkman.

Case in point, if you hear of your local PBS station is considering
buying an AM conterpart, insist that they are wasting your money.
