Without Eddie Murphy, this would have been a complete disaster. With EM,
it will probably be a major blockbuster. He deserves it, he is excellent.
The scenes at the bonded customs warehouse, at the Harrow club
and checking in at the hotel are each worth the price of admission all
by themselves.

However, I find it incredible that a street kid turned cop from Detroit
could grow up in the same neighborhood as anyone, least of all a white
knockout blonde, who could, by her mid twenties, wind up running a highly
successful art gallery. In general, outside of EM, the movie contains the
following black characters:
	- A harried Detroit Police inspector (EM's boss)
	- A gay brunch waiter
	- An uptight Beverly Hills cop
