The really amazing thing about these poroises, was not that they were living in an inland, salt-water cove, but that (from what the officials would release to the press, these porpoises were the oldest ever found. As a matter of fact, from all indications, these porpoises were immortal. Well since these two guys heard about the porpoises in about May of their Junior year in Collage, they decided to take part of their Summer to go to Africa to do a little independent study on the subject. However, the young men discovered, on arriving in a towm some 70 miles from the valley where the salt water cove was located, that the local government would not allow anyone to go to the valley untill AFTER their scientists got a chance to finish an intensive study. In fact they had rangers posted all around the valley. The men poked around town asking questions and finialy snuck into the institution which was doin the research. But the only thing which they could add to the information they already had, was that these porpoises, who seem to have allways lived in the valley and never die, eat Mynah birds. Well these two weren't going to be put off , especialy after having come this far. So they hired a guide, bought supplies,(along with 3 Mynahs) and set out into the jungle. The guide lead then through the jungle until they came to a trail which took a long and narrow path down into the valley. They took a their time coming down slowly so that the didn't alert the rangres. They finialy get to the bottom of th trail and can smell the salt air from farther down the valley, when there, in the middle of the trail is this stately lion who appears to be sound asleep. At this point the path is still too narrow to go arround and they sure couldn't go back, so they decided to take turns stepping over the lion, and the others run for it(they didn't want to just shoot it because of the rangers). The first young man very slowly creeps over the lion and has the guide hand him the Mynahs. The guide follows allong with the other student, and it appears that they have been successful until they get about 5 ft. up the path at which point the lion jumps up and reveals that it's really a ranger in disguise and they were put under arrest.
