No, no. You have the truncated version. This is the one I know:

A scientist discovers that he can keep popoises alive indefinitely by
feeding them a food made out of the meat of sea-gulls. One day he is
taking their feed into his lab when he sees a lion sleeping on the
doorstep.  Not one to be thrown off easily, he gingerly steps over the
lion, only to be immediately arrested by a police officer for:

	Carrying gulls across a staid lion for immortal popoises.
