I've dealt with them before and they have always been good. The costs are low and they have a booming business (when I've bought stuff from them over the counter in NY it's been a mad house). Like many main order places now, shipping can be done via slo mail (UPS), a somewhat faster mail, or even Federal Express (which is how mine was handled). It woud have cost $6 shipping via UPS for the package and $30 for Fed Exp (which is an excellent price considering the poundage of the lenses) -- I think they goofed in my favor. Not only are those places discount (I can never beat those prices), but also there is no sales tax for out-of-state. For those of you in CT, an extra $7.50 off of each $100 is pretty tempting. The only bad thing is that except for today, each time I talked to 47th st, they were very rude (I felt it was much more than the NY attitude). I know they're busy, but over the phone they don't want to spend even 5 secs to answer a question. I can understand them not wanting to give away too much info and lose a sale (because of the time wasted in their hi-volume business), but they cross the border of arrogant. -- --steve kramer {allegra,genrad,ihnp4,utzoo,philabs,uw-beaver}!linus!axiom!smk (UUCP) linus!axiom!smk@mitre-bedford (MIL)
