Imagine that you have an open work area/cubicle and every so often someone (collegue, janitor, BOSS) walks by and says, "Hey I Need that listing/terminal/ manual/pencil/etc." And so he grabs it. Confronting these parasites does no good. You can't shoot them 'cause then it's poaching. Even during hunting season, the higher ups don't give you enough "tags" to make a difference. So then, someone from another department says, "build a fence to keep them out". You find out that it's going to require a ten foot fence - they can sure jump high! "Excuse me? That's >$10/running foot (materials only)! Where am I going to get the cash? Should I go ahead and make capital improvements on an area that may not even belong to me? Will the higher ups even let me build my fence?" Thinking is painless, ...!hp-pcd!jason
