B.I.C. did, in fact, go out of business, about 2 years ago.
There are still companies around (distributors,
audio warehouses, etc) who have parts. I also
have a BIC tape player and needed parts for it. Unfortunately
I can't remember the name of the place I called but it
is in Long Island, NY...will try to find the name
of the joint if you like.
