This reminds me of something I remember seeing last time I read 2001/2010: Somewhere in there Clarke stated that the book (2001) and the movie were done (more or less) in parallel. He also stated that doing this generated a much better product for both media, both technically as well as flow/plot development. Did I really read this, or am I dreaming? Anyone know of any other (name) authors that have produced a work in parallel with an alternate media version?
