Hey, I'm a Raider fan, too, but I don't want to have to eat all the crow generated by your flames if such a prediction turns out to be incorrect. The Raiders have a particularly poor record in the Kingdome, should they end up playing a game there. Their record on the road in AFC championship games is somethng like 1-5. The Raiders are playing well, and in spite of having to play lots of games on the road, I'd give them as good a shot at being at Stanford in January as anyone else in the AFC. But I think it's a little premature to count the chickens quite yet. If you're really convinced the Raiders will be there, how 'bout offering to cover all even-money bets as to whether they'll be there. I bet you'd have a lot of takers. > (Being originally from > Baltimore, and a CAL grad, it's instinctive for me to hate Elway's > guts, anyway.) In the meantime, the Raiders have their wind back, not > to mention good ole' Jim P. (who they would have to be CRAZY not to start in > the playoffs). Being a Stanford grad, I kind of like John Elway. By the way, what school did "good ole' Jim P." go to? > In any case, fate has decided that San Francisco will play the Raiders > in Palo Alto, so the Bay Area can have the Superbowl all to itself. Sportcasters and journalists notwithstanding, I believe that Stanford is incorporated as Stanford, CA, and is distinct from Palo Alto. That being the case the 1985 Super Bowl will NOT be played in Palo Alto. (Can anyone currently at Stanford confirm or deny this?) ******************************** Steve Vegdahl NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR Computer Research Lab. typos Tektronix, Inc. logical errors Beaverton, Oregon actions of my pet alligator ********************************
