I and several friends went on a ski trip to Alberta a few years
ago and had a great time. Most of our skiing was done at Lake
Louise (a little ways west of Banff). It has (had) a little more
advanced/expert terrain than did the area near Banff (I've forgot-
ten the name). We skied 3 days at Lake Louise, 1 day at Banff, then
drove up to Jasper (Marmot Basin) for another 2 days, then back home.

As far as lodging goes, we stayed at a place called the Lake Louise
Chalet (I think) in the village of Lake Loiuse, a short shuttle bus
ride from the lifts. I think that the Lake Louise Chateau may be
open in the winter now, tho I don't know what they charge (we
were looking for cheap).

Road conditions are variable, depending on when the last snowfall
was, etc.
