It's no use fighting it: skills needed come and go!  

The way to teach kids about how to turn the wrench/screwdriver is to use
the "right hand screw rule"::= using the right hand turn screwdriver in the
direction of the fingers wrapped around same; the screw will move in the
direction of the thumb.    This is a universal rule (for right-hand threads)
that works regardless of the orientation of the screw. (e.g. up behind the
wall torquing a nut towards yourself.) [ better stop before I run afoul of
a bad pun! ]

For a left hand thread, use the left hand::= torque in direction of fingers,
screw moves in direction of thumb.
