Summary: A use for 64 bit micros 

I can think of one good reason for 64 bit micro if what is meant by 64
bits is a 64 bit data bus. A data path wider the the processor word size
allows the process to fill its instruction or data cache ahead of
instruction execution. This allows the processor to make use of a clock
that is faster then its memory cycle time. This method was/is used by
some IBM mainframes. This presuposes micro with a cache.
