This project is sponsored in part by the Center for the Study of Women in Society at the University of Oregon and began as my practicum--but then I got passionate about what I was hearing and determined to publish or perish in the attempt. I have received a small grant to help defray word processing expense, and the collection will be made available to other returning students, at cost, as a "packet" at the local copy center. I need first person accounts and other subjective responses--line art, poetry, cartoons, photography (must be black & white). Contributions and queries can be sent to: Syn Ferguson 2209 Monroe Eugene, OR 97405 WITH return postage, please, if you want an answer, or to have your originals returned. While it is fine with me if a contributor wishes to be anonymous or use a pseudonym, I would prefer to know who I'm dealing with, and, if the book should be accepted for professional publication, be able to PAY contributors--thus necessitating knowing their names to keep on the right side of the IRS. Profit should not be your motive, however, as it's unlikely. My goal is simply to help returning women cope by letting them know what the experience has been like for others.... Share your stories. And don't worry because you're not typical--I've yet to interview anyone who was.
