I have a friend who does considerably worse things than that.  He has a 
tendancy to send empty (but not clean) cat food tins back in the reply
envelopes, or anything else that hit his fancy (of course, no return address).

The worst thing I heard of, was he took a return mail card, tied it to an old
tire (car tire), and left it leaning on a mailbox.  The postman took it.
