If you will delve a bit into history you will find that even in the crusades the practice of rape was not only allowed but in some instances (recruiting) advertised as an inducement to travel to war. Not that I have any great love for war either but sex and forcible sex (rape today) were more than tolerated by most governments as recently as 200 years. What existed then is today coverd by a thin verneer of civility which is held in place only by force of law in many areas. I am not implying that all men are rapists only that our so called society is not as selfadhesive as we would like to believe. Jeanette zobjeck
