APPLE were to use the 16 bit version of the > 6502 as a companion processor to the 68020 ? Alas, Apple denies any plans to upgrade the IIe's to 16-bit era. Woz told mis_Infoworld that he was working on such a project then retracted that statement the next week. (Sounds like some heavy arm twisting to protect Mac sales). Rumor has it that Western Design (???) who designed the 16-bit 6502 was working on a plug in card for the IIe video slot. This sounds like a good deal. I would prefer a 68000 plug in card with (here I go again :-) 16 sockets to hold either 64k or 256k ram chips (jumper selectable -- someone tell me if this is impossible). The 68000 should run at 8 Mhz or higher. -- Mike Eve Boeing Aerospace, Seattle ...uw-beaver!ssc-vax!ssc-bee!eve
