In a nutshell, not great but still fun. Most of the Dillon area resorts (Copper Mountain, Keystone, Breckenridge) are surviving with their snowmaking. As a result, only beginner and intermediate runs are open, and the more challenging intermediates have grass and rocks throughout. The cruiser blue runs were fun in the morning, but by the afternoon they had iced up appreciably. New snow is needed badly. Neither the A nor B lift at Copper was open, and I heard Keystone's new North Peak area referred to as Gouge Peak. Lots of people were skiing. I heard this was somewhat a result of the Broncos - Packers Monday Night Football game in September, when Mile High was blanketed with snow. Apparently, ski reservations after that avalanched (pun intended). I just heard on the radio that this was the best ever Thanksgiving for the resorts - all reported increased skiier traffic over last's years holiday. Well, I think I'll stick to cross country skiing until better snow arrives at the ski areas. Paul Beiser Hewlett-Packard Ft. Collins, Colorado ...{ihnp4,hplabs}!hpfcla!paul
