I am in the market to purchase a sewing machine as a Christmas present for
my wife. One of the machines under consideration is a Viking 940, yet some
(non-Viking) dealers have told me that Viking quality has been declining in
recent years and they are now being carried on name alone. This could be
true or it could be a sales tactic to persuade me to buy one of their
models.

I would greatly appreciate comments from anyone who has purchased a Viking
(of any model) in the last six years in regards to their quality. Both
favorable and unfavorable responses are solicited.

A decision will need to be made by December 10, so a prompt reply would be
appreciated.

Thanks,
