Subject: Faster tape drive for SUNs?

We have a SUN workstation network with 1.2 gigabytes of disk storage that
are backed up (painfully) using the standard 1/2" 25 IPS tape drive. We
would like to trade up to something like a Kennedy 9400 (45 IPS 6250 BPI).
Does anyone have any experience with attaching such a beast to the standard
TapeMaster controller and having it work transparently to the software?
Other suggestions for faster backup are also welcome. Please reply by MAIL
and I will summarize. Thank you.
