Message-ID: <250@utcs.UUCP> Date: Wed, 5-Dec-84 17:52:51 EST Article-I.D.: utcs.250 Posted: Wed Dec 5 17:52:51 1984 Date-Received: Wed, 5-Dec-84 18:41:15 EST Organization: University of Toronto - General Purpose UNIX Lines: 11 I have noticed in some mail queues around campus mail addressed to suburban machines that will never get there. For reasons too bizarre for description some csri and ecf machines (notably utcsrgv) can not talk to utcssca, utcsscb and utcseri directly. You must specify some intermediate machine such as utcs, utcdfa, uthub, etc. in order for your mail to go through. Otherwise your mail will be returned to you with a "Connection timed out" message. This problem will eventually go away but until that happy day we are stuck with it. So in the meantime stick an intermediate machine in your path as in utcdfa!utcssca!foo from utcsrgv. -- Bruce Freeman University of Toronto {decvax|ihnp4|utzoo}!utcs!bjf
