That was not my implication at all-- if people took it as such, my
apologies. Jeffs version of Christianity, is, in many ways, unique. Which
is not to say wrong, of course...

The problem I see is that there are a number of people out there who are
Christians (or at least claim to be) who seem to feel that anything that is
not Christian (as defined by them) is either wrong, evil, or both. This
also tends to be true in net.religion, and the results (constant turf wars
between the hardline christians (as I'll call them) and the rest of
humanity) are plain to see. I'd like to avoid similar dogmatic fights in
net.singles as much as possible because they don't generate any positive
results for anyone.

My basic wish is for tolerance-- the christians need to realize that just
because some of us follow another path that we aren't wrong or less than
them, just different. From what I've seen the non-Christians tend to be
very tolerant of letting the Christians follow their faith without
accusatory comments; unfortunately there is a small but vocal contingent of
the hardline christians that won't allow the rest of the net the same
priviledge, and that is what I want to see left out of net.singles. We are
here to discuss, not convert.
