I think it's more that those women have developed a belief that men are assholes, and by attracting that type of man (and, no doubt, driving away all the others), they get to be right. Being right about sometimes hidden beliefs is a fundamental motivation of many human beings, whether they realize it or not. It's like, "See, I told you men were assholes. Look at this jerk!" They also get to suffer a lot, but hell, at least they get to be right! I know this one from experience. For the longest time I believed it was impossible for me to have the kind of relationship I really wanted. And guess what? I got to be right, and I got to be lonely too. If you find yourself attracted to people that you don't even like, take a look and see if you don't have a belief that all members of the opposite sex have this undesireable trait. If you'd just allow yourself to be wrong about that belief, you just might find what you want. --Greg -- {ucbvax!hplabs | allegra!nbires | decvax!stcvax | harpo!seismo | ihnp4!stcvax} !hao!woods "...once in a while you can get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right..."
