Remote job entry (RJE) to the UTCS IBM mainframe is now possible. This
allows UNIX users who may want to do data analysis on the mainframe to
prepare their data files and programs (SAS, SPSS, FORTRAN et,c.) on UNIX
and then send them to the IBM for execution. The output will be mailed
back to the UNIX account where it can be viewed and/or edited and/or
printed.

Under normal circumstances, the user will not need to have an account on
the UTCS system; usage will be billed to their UNIX account. However,
no disk storage may be used on the mainframe, as we have no charge-back
mechanism. Any files charged to our UTCS account will be removed *without*
warning.

If you are interested in this facility, ask Keith, Henry or myself for
more information.
