Just reading the HP LaserJet documentation will not give one a clear idea
of how to request legal-sized paper in landscape mode. The "page length"
instruction is what tells the printer what size paper to insist on, but in
landscape mode this has little (no?) effect. The trick is to set the paper
size, THEN set the orientation, THEN set things like margins. Heather
Trueman, of the Arts&Science computer facility here, sorted this one out
after a lot of experimenting.
