State University, Raleigh Lines: 16 According to the AP story carried by our local paper, the Newsweek reporter got his information by actually taking part in discussion on a bulletin-board system on which were traded credit card numbers, system-cracking tips, recipes for nitroglycerin, and other wholesome hobbies. What was reported on was not a group of hackers but a den of thieves. The modus operandi is changed by new technology, but that is all that is different.
