              SPOILER******SPOILER******SPOILER

Starman is about a bunch of aliens that find the Voyager
space probe that, among other things, invites anyone and
everyone to visit the Earth and say 'Hello...'. They decide
to take us up on our offer and send an anthroplogist down
to check us out. Some hokey science prevents their landers
from coming down just anywhere, something to do with the
Earths magnetic field. The starman is headed for a landing at
Metoer Crater (Arizona?), but gets shot down by the Air Force
while somewhere over Michigan. (I'll let you figure that one
out.) Unable to live in Eaths atmosphere, he clones the body
of a human to live in while he travels to Arizona to be picked
up by his friends. The bulk of the film revolves aaround his
his adventures during his cross country trip, and the fun he
has falling in love with an Earth girls (talk about star crossed
lovers...). The whole time the Air Force has guys out combing
the woods for him, and chasing him on his road trip. The
special effects are good, and the actings not too bad. If you
like science fiction (whether good, bad, or indifferent) then you
should do as Joe Bob says and 'Check it out'.
