Hmmmmmm. That certainly was a zinger....well maybe this would make my
argument make some sense to you:

Killing any person is wrong (in my view). Killing an innocent person
doesn't allow you to make up for your error.  Of course putting a person
in a cell (which I would consider torture!) isn't any kinder --- just
allows you to correct a mistake  ("Gee, Mr. Smith, the murderer confessed.
Oh well, the court system isn't perfect, but at least we can let you
out.....")

If you can equate murder (in the name of the Holy State makes no difference -
it is still murder!) with incarceration, then I am forced to reply:
your rebuttal makes no sense!

So there!
