I'm a relatively new reader of this group (as I just had a chance to
play with a Mac and now I'm hooked -- got to convince my wife it's good
for the kids, etc.).

Anyhow, I ran across an ad about a package for the Mac called UMAX (I
think) which purports to turn a Mac into an intelligent workstation for
UNIX systems. The article said a special shell had to be used, and
intimated about multiple windows, etc. What I'd like to know is
whether or not anyone out there has actually used UMAX, and what are
its pros and cons?
