My favorite LA story involved a C compiler we had ordered from them. The
day after it should have arrived, we called them and asked where it was.
"We won't be able to ship that until next week." We cursed a little, until
Federal Express showed up that afternoon with our compiler.

Of course, to find Lifeboat Associates, you look under "Marine Supplies" in
the NYC directory (unless that's been fixed).
