Here is the message I thot I had fumbled...(so what if I filed it in the wrong place...) > Does anyone know a good source for hard-to-get spices? Yes, a place called Cardoos in the Boston area has over 100 spices, ranging from Asafoetida to Zaatar to something curiously named "Chili Madness Kit." Their prices look pretty competitive with supermarkets (for things available in the latter) and their shipping charge (min. $2.50) seems reasonable if you're ordering more than one or two things. Cardoos has a store in Faneuil Hall and several others in the Boston area. Their mailing address is 86 Finnell Dr., Weymouth, MA 02188. They take phone orders at (617) 337-7880. (I also see a 480-page "Book of Spices" in their mail-order brochure. This might satisfy the inquiries of a while back in this news group for a reference on spices.) --Bruce Burger AT&T-Information Systems Freehold, NJ {...ihnp4!}hogpc!btb
