Has anyone tried to do a "repeat-previous-command" so that
any key which is not bound to "self-insert" gets reissued.
It is roughly equivalent to `!!' in csh, `.' in vi and `redo'
       in Teitelman's Programmer's Assistant.

My initial attempts involved looking at `last-key-struck'
       and `previous-command'.

Please send mail to me and I will try to post interesting
and workable suggestions as a summary.
