I'm trying to get info on chartering in the Virgin Islands.
I'll appreciate any comments from those of you who have
experience both with bare-boating and chartering with skipper.
I'm leaning towards chartering with a skipper, since neither
I nor any of my likely party will have had enough experience
     for bareboating. Questions:

          1. We will want to do some snorkeling and sightseeing,
with emphasis on getting as much sailing experience
as possible. Where is the best place to go? At
what times? While we don't intend to be lavish, the
primary concern is the quality of the experience
             rather than cutting costs.

          2. Are there any particular situations/places/times/
charters that should be avoided? I'll be interested
in hearing about negative as well as positive
             experiences.

          3. Are there areas other than the Virgin Islands and
Lesser Antilles that are comparable without being
             too difficult/expensive/time-consuming to get to?
We will have about one week's time.

             Thank you for the info!!
