This is in response to a previous article.  Unfortunately the reply didn't
get attached to that article.  (new to netnews)


We have not done quite what you are planning, but during the first 4 1/2 yrs
of raising our kids I was teaching at a university and so was able to arrange
my schedule so that my wife could work part-time.  I feel that it was/is a
most rewarding experience for all of us.  I highly recommend some type of
arrangement where both parents are able to work and raise the kids.  Your
ptoposed plan wouldn't work for us, now, because of the difference in
earnings between my profession and hers.  GOOD LUCK.
