Bread is shipped air freight once a week. Boudin is my favorite sourdough bread from San Francisco; I'm glad others agree. What you may not know is that there are Boudin Bakeries in (at least) the Chicago area, where there are four. The prices and the bread seem to be the same as the San Francisco-bought stuff, at least I can't tell the difference. There are stores near the Chicago watertower (E.Chicago St), somewhere on Michigan avenue (I think), and Woodbridge Mall -- check directory service. I never go to Chicago without bringing some home...
