Message-ID: <14012@mgweed.UUCP> Date: Thu, 6-Dec-84 08:52:14 EST Article-I.D.: mgweed.14012 Posted: Thu Dec 6 08:52:14 1984 Date-Received: Fri, 7-Dec-84 02:17:06 EST Organization: AT&T Consumer Products - Montgomery Illinois Lines: 20 A friend of mine just got the MBA-TOR rtty package from AEA. He soon found out that it will NOT work with the Kantronics interface (TU). He is using the Commodore 64. There are a couple of signal lines that are inverted in a couple of the states: rtty data is inverted in the send-space mode, and cw.id is inverted in the send-mark mode. I solved the problem by decoding the leads from the Commodore 64 with a 74LS138 and then re-creating the proper outputs with a 74LS00. If anyone out there has the same problem, I will be glad to furnish the details. The folks at AEA said "just invert one lead" and were not sympathetic. I guess that because the cable furnished will fit, they think that makes it "compatible"!
