Personally, I'm gratified as all-get-out to see Shooter aiming to
do a SECRET WARS again. For one thing, purging his system of such
putrescence on a regular basis will do wonders for his health. But
seriously.... SECRET WARS II proves that Marvel realizes that
SECRET WARS I was not an "event": it was just some Marvel mag, just
like the other Marvel mags. So why not crank out another SW if the
punters'll eat it? Do one every year! Hell, make it an open-ended
series! Then it'll eventually get lost in the shuffle of team-up
books where the script and art quality will eventually drag it
down to its true sales level, it'll flutter, go bimonthly, and
finally go the way of MARVEL TEAM-UP.
(This is a sort of subverting the system from within.)

Then in two years, Marvel will bring out a RETURN OF THE SECRET
WARS maxi-series and the whole damn thing can do its Roman candle
bit all over again. Sound like fun? You bet.

Mind you, if *Barry Smith* was drawing SW2.....
