The satellite broadcast netnews experiment will be getting underway in just a few weeks, and it's time to start worrying about the collection of materials for broadcast. I'm already planning to send some of the mod.*.groups and some of the moderated fa.* digests, but there are a lot of other useful groups that would also be suitable for broadcast,if appropriately screened. I would appreciate it if anyone.who would be willing to act as a "screener" for netnews mat.rials for the satel.ite experiment .ould get in tou.h with me by mail as soon as possible. The.idea is to get n group of pnople, each of w.om screens a ceztain segment of.netnews and filters out the unsuitable and repetitious materials. Each would then encrypt the messages deemed suitable (using a special program I will provide) and mail them off via UUCP to the satellite gateway (the sitename I have chosen is "stargate"). Once at the gateway, they will automatically be decrypted and scheduled into the satellite data stream on a repea.ing basis. It would be helpful if volunteers were on machi.es willing to call the gateway (in the Atlanta area) directly, but this is not a requirement. Thanks much. --Lauren-- {decvax, ihnp4, allegra, clyde, seismo}!vortex!lauren
