Message-ID: <169@usl.UUCP> Date: Tue, 11-Dec-84 01:30:03 EST Article-I.D.: usl.169 Posted: Tue Dec 11 01:30:03 1984 Date-Received: Wed, 12-Dec-84 05:39:53 EST Organization: USL, Lafayette, LA Lines: 23 [another one bytes the bug..] well, talk about slow... I got a Toyota Corrola (sp?) for $800 last year.. I put 1000 miles + a month, the car is a 72 1600cc 2 doors a/c. Some parts are still connected with garden wire (muffler, carburator & hot air vent, air conditioning console) or superglue (back lights). The devil has a 2 speed auto transmission and will do 0 to 55 in 1 hour probably, but on the highway on super unleaded it can stand 90 mph easily for prolonged periods of time, limited only by police presence. I don't think that old, well used cars are for throws.. I still love it. I have seen a lot of '72-'74 Toyotas and Mazdas around here, and most still go strong. Guess they don't build them as they used too.... Only problem: 22mpg in city, 27mpg highway (My measurements, not EPA's) Right now I wish I could find a good '72 to '74 celica gt!!!!!
