Of course!  For some reason it slipped my mind, but the Islanders and
Flyers played in the 1980 Stanley Cup final.  The last Northeast
championship before that was the Pirates and Yankees in 1960. 
Unless you include Maryland/D.C. in the Northeast, in which case
there is also Super Bowl III (Colts vs. Jets).

Back to the NFL, the Patriots lost and the Raiders won.  I, of course,
am not and never have been a Patriots fan - I deny it all completely.
Why, I'm, well, um, oh yes, a ... Giants fan!  Yes, that's it, I'm a
Giants fan (why didn't I realize it before?).
