At various times in the discussion on gun control, someone brings up the
fact that the law-abiding Swiss must keep military rifles at home in
good condition.  This is used as a counter-argument to the idea that
people generally should not have guns.

I found out yesterday that the ammunition for these guns must be kept
in a sealed box which can be inspected at any time.  If the seal has
been broken without authorization, it is a severe court-martial offence.

Whether suitable ammunition is readily available outside the military
system, I have no idea.
