Morris Research and Engineering Center Applied Research Area Bellcore is a "mini-Bell-Labs" owned jointly by the seven Bell regional holding companies and formed out of the ashes of the AT&T divestiture. Most of the employees at this location are former AT&T Bell Labs employees (refugees?) from the Murray Hill and Whippany locations. N.B.! Bellcore is completely separate from and unrelated to AT&T or any of its entities (such as AT&T Bell Laboratories). The machine 'bellcore' is actually a Sun 170 running 4.2BSD and acting as a dedicated uucp/mail/netnews relay for the other machines in the company Internet. All mail going into Applied Research may be addressed to bellcore!user; all mail leaving will appear to have come from bellcore regardless of the actual user's machine. Names and electronic mail addresses of contact people: Phil Karn (bellcore!karn) Brian Redman (bellcore!ber) Allegra may be used as a (very) temporary forwarding point for bellcore until we establish more direct contacts. U.S. Mail address of contact people 435 South St. Morris Township, NJ 07960 Phone numbers of contact people karn: 201-829-4299 ber: 201-829-2884 Systems with whom news articles are exchanged: decvax Systems with whom mail is exchanged All those in the AT&T-BL Action Central list; several others. All are called on demand. Willingness to connect to new sites: We are quite willing to give our UUCP information to anyone who is willing to give us theirs. However, we don't want to become a mail forwarding capital of the world, so we can only accept mail for people within Bellcore.
