The current issue of Sky and Telescope has the best article I've seen on
the "Christmas comet." The people involved swear up and down that the
early Christmas morning time (around 11:00 UT if memory serves..) release
is coincidental. You should be able to see it if you can see Spica
around that time (roughly Denver and West).
