I am having problems getting ours working correctly. What are the switch settings that you are using? What does your /etc/inittab entry for the line look like? How about L-devices and L-dialers? Protections, etc. anything that I could have overlooked. In most cases, it works for dialing in (it does fail sometimes and when it does, it turns off HS 1200 (baud mode)). However, I am unable to get it to dial out at all. When I set level 3 in inittab (as the documentation says to use), cu sits around, not sending anything to the modem, until it tells me "connect failed". If however, I use level 2, then I get the following error message: getty: cannont open "acu0". errno: 4 I have checked the different L-* files and all seem to be okay. Any help that you can give me would be appreciated. Thanx. -- Brad Brahms usenet: {decvax, ucbvax}!trwrb!trwspp!brahms arpa: Brahms@usc-eclc P.S. Where in the documentation does it describe what error numbers are for what errors? In the above case, for open().
