There are also MUCH lower special fares available. Official "coach" roundtrip fare from San Francisco to Dallas is $700. But "economy" fares are available *unrestricted* from $218 round trip, even on American. These are normal, daytime roundtrip flights and you don't even have to sit on the wing. You can even collect AAdvantage miles and order a special meal (American's seafood plate and fruit salad plates are well above the average airline fare -- oops, sorry about the pun). For people in the SF Bay Area, the "official" travel agency has nothing to offer us. Elsewhere, look carefully and don't believe your travel agency's SABRE or Apollo system at first reading. If Braniff flies from your city to Dallas, you can bet that there will be low economy fares available through ALL of the airlines that fly to Dallas from your city -- just ask the right questions. See you there. Tony Wasserman ucbvax!{ucsfcgl|ucsfmis}!{waserman,wasserman}
