Why does only ".jewish" > exist? Sounds like a reasonable idea. Seriously. Then net.religion could be for general discussions of religion (why it exists, etc.) and comparative religion, and net.religion.christian could be for exclusively Christian topics. Perhaps other subgroups might be useful too. net.religion.pagan for example-- there are a lot of neo-pagans out there, which may or may not surprise some people. Needless to say, net etiquette would dictate *not* attempting to proselytize in other religions' subgroups. (And needless to say, people would do it anyway.)
