I think Mahler is definitely an acquired taste, at least for me, but one well
worth acquiring.

For whoever cares, the vocal artists on the recent Giulini recording of
"Das Lied" are Brigitte Fassbaender and Francisco Araiza.

To whoever was looking for a Mahler biography: "Mahler: The Man and His Music"
by Egon Gartenberg is an enjoyable account of Mahler's life and includes a
200 page overview of his major works (e.g. brief illustrations, history, etc).
About $7 in softcover, seems to be readily available.
