Just saw "The Seven Samurai" for the first time this evening. Much
better than "The Magnificent Seven" (the American Western translation),
though I'd like to see the latter again to compare characterizations.
Also a remarkable film for 1954; much less ``Hollywood-ish'' than
what you expect in films of that time (or since ....).

But that's not why I'm writing this.

Before "Samurai" was shown there was played a short film, "Fist Full
of Yen," a humorous spoof of Kung Fu movies. This is a very funny
bit, despite the low budget, and has a surprise at the end that you'd
never guess, also very funny. If you see this featured somewhere it
is worth seeing.

Doesn't have much to do with "Samurai", though.
