Maybe I should have used my mother's maiden name when I posted this note.

I believe you meant ethnic rather than racial in that last sentence.  No
matter, it wasn't intended as a slur anyway.  What I intended to do in
that note was to show (humorously) how a small segment of individuals who 
are not at all representative of the larger group can gain all the (negative) 
publicity.  Italians have always been considered part of the "mob" even though
organized crime figures represent an insignificant number of Italian-
Americans.  Does the IRA represent all Irishmen or does Louis Farrakan
speak for all blacks?  These groups in no way speak for the whole and we should
repudiate both their words and their actions.  John Zaccaro and his
associates in organized crime have hurt all Italian-Americans in there 
search for equality and freedom.

BTW, the Philadelphia Inquirer (Sunday, 10/21) did a two page spread on
Zaccaro and his friends in the Mob.
