He has asked me to recommend a/some book/s in the hope he could pick things up for himself. I have always felt that the presentation of basics in "The Radio Amateur's Handbook" was one of the best I had ever seen. It has, however, been over 10 years since I last saw one and they are temporarily out of stock everywhere local pending a new issue. Do you folks agree with me? Would you recommend something else as a starter? Heathkit has a lot of very expensive courses. Anyone recommend any of them in this case?
