Recently I bought a bottle of Black Tower Liebfraumilch, which comes
in a ceramic container ("The taste is so impressive, the bottle had to
be, too!" -Madison Ave). Unfortunately, the combination of the ceramic
glazing, the wine, and the cork produced an adhesive that would be the
envy of any advanced civilization. I literally cored the cork with the
screw leaving a 5mm hole and a bottle full of dregs.
I want to buy another bottle but am afraid that this superglue is an
inevitable part of the bottling process. Has anyone else experienced
this?
In the meantime I'm drinking Everclear, so hurry before I burst into
flames.
