I have an IBM PC to which a NEC 3550 printer is attached through a Quadram parallel printer interface adapter. According to the technical manual for the adapter, pin 14 was not implemented. The Quadram printer adapter is supposed to be compatible with the IBM adapter in all other respects. This printer works fine when ordinary printing jobs are queued to it. But when advanced printing features such as justification is invoked the whole system hangs. Nothings happens. The same software works fine with other printers such as EPSON with justification. Can someone give me possible suggestions for the culprit?
