I learned them in this order: Dutch, French, English, German, Spanish. However, when I learned Spanish, my everyday language was English, although I was and still am equally fluent in Dutch. Now, when I have to translate from French into English, I often have to go through Dutch, while I van translate from Spanish into English without intermediate steps. Herman Silbiger
