Grant all engineering majors a minor in foreign languages? Seriously, though, it's tough to learn the difference between molality and molarity through a thick persian accent. Fortunately, I had the other chemistry teacher, who spoke english but couldn't teach. This language problem is serious. At Santa Clara, there is a policy that TA's are not allowed to teach classes. If the professor can't make it, another one comes or the class isn't held. TA's are used for labs, however. rick
