Consider the following: 1. Franklin Roosevelt campaigned on the issue of "Never involving our boys in a Foreign War" (1940). The result? We wound up in WWII! 2. Harry Truman was Chief Executive during the Korean War 3. Kennedy was ready to nuke the Russians over missiles in Cuba in 1962 4. Democrat Lyndon Johnson was elected by a landslide over Republican Barry Goldwater in 1964. Goldwater was a "hawk", and people were afraid that if he were elected he would get us involved in a war. Instead, we got the "dove" Johnson, and a dramatic acceleration of the Vietnam Conflict. Now you are telling me that a vote for Ronnie is a vote for nuclear annihilation??? From an historical perspective, we will have a much greater chance of being involved in a war if that bed-wetting, knee-jerk liberal Mondale gets elected! Personally, I'm voting for Anon-7. -- Frank Dibbell (408-746-6493) ...!{ihnp4,hplabs,amd,nsc}!amdahl!canopus [The views expressed herein are not necessarily the views of my employer, or myself, for that matter]
