After the detectors were installed backwards, Murphy
became concerned about why it was possible in the first
place.  Many devices today prevent improper installation
with physical assymetries.  He stated:
"If there is more than one way to do something, it
will be done the wrong way."
The fact that he was later misquoted is perhaps a tribute
to his insight.
