Otherwise they contain the hex equivalents of@ (1B, 40h), which is the Epson reset string. I have also heard tha attempts to print certain ASCII characters will cause MS-Word to bomb, namely 170-173, and perhaps those in the 160's. Also I am told that no matter how ASCII 196 is defined, MS-Word prints the character defined for ASCII 45 (dash). Good luck!
