The original "cat" article was one of {not John Williams}'s
articles.  It was pretty disgusting and I hadn't seen any of the
other ones when "Chuq" posted his notice that he had called
John Williams boss and complained.  I didn't see anyone defending
~JW (or whoever) and I began to worry about the safety of posting
to the network...

Today, on Net.news.groups someone else is implying that these messages
were bogus things created by someone unknown with a "smart" shell
script which "forks" an anonymous process with counterfeit address
info into a site's mailing directory.  The message goes out with
anyone else's name on it ( anyone that the nefarious evil-doer desires ).

For proof the System Manager who makes the claim points to some perfectly
forged memoes from Bruce Springstein and some earlier not quite so
perfect Paul McCartney and some Kremvax (Kremlin-vax) articles
inserted anonymously into the net.

Now the Plot thickens and I'm waiting impatiently for further
comments...
