My church is thinking about replacing a 1912 vintage
pipe organ. We have a choice between pipe and electronic
organs. As these items are $50000+ it should last for a
number of years. Many organs of both types are using micros
and other digital circuits. I would like some opinions on
what would happen if in 20-30 years some chip quits. Are
there any policies on how long chips are manufactured? If I
get enough information I will summarize for the net.
