Just what I wanted to hear. This summer, I was in an accident involving my bug and someone elses Firebird (I believe this is what you referenced in the original article). I have to admit that the accident was my fault. It WASN'T a fault of the the car. As a result of this, one of the front fenders was shorn from my car, and damage was done to the steering box. I spent about $100 dollars and a week getting the car back in drivable condition. In case you're curious, the equipment I needed to do the repair was a wrench, a jack and jack stand, and a ball pean hammer to knock some minor dents out. Nothing outrageous there. At the scene of the accident, I and my two passengers got out, and the two passengers went to get help from people that I required help from. None of us were injured. Now, the damage to the Firebird was a broken taillight and a scratch on the back bumper (paint scratched off and if you ran your hand over it, you could feel t little crease). The woman driving it was taken to a hospital strapped to a board, and is presently suing me for injuries. I don't know how you would have felt in this situation, but I'm REAL glad I had my beetle. Wouldn't you be? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Andy Banta {decvax!allegra!ihnp4}!pur-ee!pucc-k!agz Dept. of Mental Instability, Purdue University --- "I'm OK, You're a CS Major" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Me and all the boys sleepin' in our cars, And we'd practice right on out in the street ...
