Much better than "The Magnificent Seven" (the American Western translation), though I'd like to see the latter again to compare characterizations. Also a remarkable film for 1954; much less ``Hollywood-ish'' than what you expect in films of that time (or since ....). But that's not why I'm writing this. Before "Samurai" was shown there was played a short film, "Fist Full of Yen," a humorous spoof of Kung Fu movies. This is a very funny bit, despite the low budget, and has a surprise at the end that you'd never guess, also very funny. If you see this featured somewhere it is worth seeing. Doesn't have much to do with "Samurai", though. -- (It's only a model) Gordon A. Moffett ...!{ihnp4,hplabs,amd,nsc}!amdahl!gam [ This is just me talking. ]
