With that aside, I'll say something outrageous: NEARLY EVERYTHING WRITTEN AS CLASSICAL MUSIC IN THE LAST 50 YEARS IS GARBAGE!!! It's as though composers forgot that they are supposed to be writing music that people can enjoy - that is pleasing to the ear. I've tried - really tried, to enjoy this stuff. My impression is that most modern composers are trying to outdo each other by writing music that sounds as if it originated on MARS! I'd rather listen to ROCK and ROLL. At least you can dance to it!
