Ahh, yes...football and Homecoming Weekend.

This past weekend was a special treat: Sunday morning's headlines:

"FRATERNITY FIRE SET INTENTIONALLY; ONE KILLED"

Monday's headlines:

"ONE KILLED IN FRATERNITY HOUSE ARSON: MAN CHARGED WITH SETTING FATAL FIRE"

The man charged was attending the fraternity's homecoming party with friends
when he became involved in a fight with some alumnus. (It seems the man was
staggering around in the yard as a car full of alumnus drove onto the yard
to park.) The car brushed the man; a brawl insued; the man rips off the
car's mirror...and the rest is "history."

After the fight, the man was restrained and quaranteened by his friends.
The man escapes from a bedroom window (at 4:00 a.m.) and heads back to the
fraternity house: Finds an open door to the basement; locates two 1-quart
containers of turpentine and begins to soak the living room with the
flammable substance. (One can only *imagine* what he was thinking at that
time.)

There were 35 to 40 people in the house when the fire started.

Ahh, yes...football weekends...
