Last Sunday I posted an article describing a friend who has been missing
for the past week, and whose car was observed in the posession of a man
who committed a felonious assault on a person at the Sacramento airport,
and who dropped the missing person's wallet at the site, before driving
away in her car.

I posted the description, which announced a reward for information, to
net.general, ca.general, sdnet.general and net.misc. I normally observe
the convention of posting to only one, or at the very most, two, newsgroups.
However, the gravity of this situation is extreme, and the widest
distribution is in order.

since then, I have received letters, some nice, some sarcastic, berating
me for posting to net.general. To those individuals who wrote those
letters, I submit the following:

1. SHE COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES.

2. SHE COULD CONCEIVABLY BE OUT OF THE COUNTRY (NOT LIKELY, BUT NOT
    IMPOSSIBLE EITHER)

3. THIS IS NO DAMNED JOKE!

4. IF A FEW KBYTES OF NET TRAFFIC OR THE EXERTION OF READING THE
LETTER IS TOO MUCH TO ASK TO HELP SAVE A PERSON'S LIFE, THEN
PARDON ME, BUT I DON'T GIVE A DAMN!

If this were a friend of loved one of yours, I doubt sincerely
that you'd find one extra article in net.anything to be excessive.

Be aware that my wording and language of the above implies extreme
self-restraint.
