[Possibly not a bug?]

Whenever I try to invoke "apply", for example
  (apply 'cons '(a b))
I always get a segmentation fault and core dump.  Does anyone else
have this problem?  I have made all of the posted updates and am
running on a BSD-4.2 unix system (vax 780).
