Is Alan jealous that Shaney's postings make more sense than his? (They often make more sense than mine, I know.) Or because Shaney doesn't excerpt enough from his articles? What's really frightening is when you're reading an article and you're amused by the nonsensical wording and random ordering of phrases, and you realize you're reading one of your own articles...
