I've only been in the SF Bay area once (on a vacation in '83). One of the most striking things I noticed when I was out there was how many different types of people (different colors, religions, sexual preferences) there were, and how little tension there was among them. I don't think I've ever been in a place where there was less (apparent) tension between groups. I found it really interesting to observe the differences between the way people treated each other in SF and the way they treated each other in Mass. (where I lived at the time). In some ways, it was a rather spooky feeling! Doug Hosking Convex Computer Corp. {alegra, ihnp4}!convex!hosking
