I am surprised by all of the bad mouthing Apple is getting.
I looks like people have finally figured that you pay a price
to have the name "Apple" on a computer. After all, if Atari can
sell a computer (800xl) that is without a doubt a better computer
than the Apple ][e for less than $200.00 dollars maybe Apple
is pulling the wool, or should I say the peeling, over everybodys
eyes.

Without a doubt? Can I get parallel ports? MITI interface? A/D converters?
inboard modems? 8" disk drives? Hard disks (maybe yes, on that one)? 6809/
8088/8086/68000/32016 co-processors (just one of each, not all at once!)?
Berkeley Unix?

As a games machine, the Atari is far and away better than the Apple. For
some light work, it's better. For real work, and language availability,
The Apple is the nicer machine. The key is in the bus they put in the thing.

Note: I wouldn't have either one - you can buy both better game machines,
and better work horses.
