I assume you are a Hindu based on your name. Being a Hindu myself and a
vegetarian, I am not aware that our *religion* forbids eating meat. There
are millions of Hindus who eat meat. It is more accurate to say that some
communities (such as Brahmins from a certain parts of the country) have chosen
vegetarian food habits. While the reasons for this lifestyle are not in the
scope of this reply, I do think that statements like the above mislead people
about our religion and result in stereotyping.

You can try English Muffins and Jelly, Pancakes or Waffles with syrup.

Most restaurants serve tossed salads and fruit platters.
Mexican Restaurants usually have a good selection of vegetarian entrees like
Cheese Enchiladas, Tostadas with Beams and Cheese, Spanish Rice etc.
You can also try Italian restaurants. Eggplant Parmigiana, Fetucini Alfredo,
Manicotti are some of the vegetarian dishes you can try. If you are lucky,
you might even get vegetarian Lasgna and Spaghetti. By the way Spaghetti is
very easy to make at home too.
Middle Eastern restaurants have a variety of vegetarian dishes. Falafels are the
ones that come to my mind immediately. Greek restaurants have Spinach pie one
can try.

Hope this info is useful.
