San Diego Chemistry Dept Lines: 26 CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPION SAN DIEGO PADRES!!!!!! I'm looking forward to seeing the pennant fly over Jack Murphy Stadium. The three games here were absolutely *outstanding*. Since I didn't see these games on TV I don't know if the rest of the world knows that the motto for the Padres this year was "Dreams can come true". I still find the fourth game hard to believe. Where but in a dream would someone who already has three hits come up to bat in the 9th inning and hit one over the fence to win the game. The fans around me were all calling for it but I didn't think it would happen. Not enough faith I guess. This series was beautiful and it was a dream come true for the Padres and for the San Diego fans. It was also a helluva good time. I don't want to take anything away from the Padres, they played excellent baseball, but it can't be denied that the cubbies *choked*. Considering the insults that came our way over the net and the media I can't help but smile knowing that Chicago fans everywhere are choking on their words. I have to give the Cubs and their fans credit for doing a magnificent job at keeping their reputation intact. Bring on Detroit. Marsha sdcsvax!sdchema!mmf
