I saw your note in net.auto about water soaking your back carpet in a '82 Toronado. There are two possibilities that leap to mind. First, if you have a sunroof, chances are 3 out of 4 that it is leaking into the door posts behind the doors, and down into the rear area of the passenger compartment. I had a friend here who had that problem with his Eldorado. An unlikely source would be rear window seal problems, but your rear deck should be moist if this is true. A leak from the underside is quite unlikely. To test the sunroof theory, wait till the carpet is dry, and apply LOTS of water to the seal areas of the sunroof. Make sure you control the runoff so that you know where ALL the water is going. Hope this helps! Jim Donnelly hp-pcd!jimd
