It's device independent and being ported to *many* UNIX machines. It has been used here to make plots on SUNs (b&w and color), a line-printer, a tek4014, with hpgl, on a QMS, and via plot(1). I am most impressed and pleased with S. It's especially nice on a SUN (and probably other similar machines) which has a bit-mapped screen and graphics windows.
