Right on!  I have done exactly the same thing.  Most store personnel
simply don't understand it.  They don't trust us.  Why should we trust
them?  I think that EVERYONE should keep hold of his documents, allowing
the clerks only to copy the information from them.  Further, I refuse to
show  a credit card (don't want the numbers all over the place).  I use
a plastic bank machine card that isn't even valid anymore.  They're so
stupid, they don't know the difference?
