For those who care (:-) ):

In NYC it is against the law to block an intersection.  Very reasonable,
but rarely enforced.  Recently this has changed.

I watched a "brownie" (special NYC traffic cops) swoop down and give tickets
to each vechicle that went through a green light and blocked the intersection.
In about ten minutes she had given at least eight tickets!!

And the drivers, who were breaking the law, sat there and cursed at her!
