Well, I got sucked into watching MIAMI VICE last night because the commercials used Phil Collins as background music. AND AM I GLAD I DID ! It's a show about a pair of cops (one from NYC and one from Miami) who end up working with each other to nail a slime-ball South-American drug kingpin that leaves bodies wherever his white line leads. Even though it dealt with a really scuzzy subject (drug-smuggling) the show was fast, well edited, with stunning cinematography (if that applies to non-theater productions). If anyone has ever seen THIEF, the movie with James Caan, you probably have a good idea how the mixture of great visuals and tight music (by Tangerine Dream) can make a film. MIAMI VICE falls into this category. It's too bad it didn't come out in the theaters first. A lot of work went into the premier episode and made one hell of a good impression! Let's hope that it can stay as good as a series. -- Others have tried and failed. Getting the air-sickness bags prepped for the new season... Gary (hplabs, ios, allegra)oliveb!olivee!gnome
