The "you feel a strange sense of loss" is for one of the following: 1) You read a hold monster scroll and there are no monsters to hold nearby (neraby == 2-3 spaces I think). 2) You read an enchant weapon scroll and you are not wielding a weapon. * 3) You read an enchant armor scroll and you are not wearing any armor. * I'm not sure about this last one, but it would make sense. I'm pretty sure that the above is correct, although keep in mind that I can't refer to myself as a rogue expert yet....I still haven't found that damn amulet! Argh!
