     The landing party could probably spend a limited amount of time on the 
planet before they absolutely had to return to the ship.  Plus, the later a
substance is introduced into the matrix, the slower it ages.  When the proto-
matter radiation wave levels are zero, then normal aging takes over.  The trick
is to get the proto-matter RWL down to zero.
