The Tigers actually have 3 left-handers, (all relievers) Hernandez, Monge, and Scherrer, although I will give you Monge. FLAME ON... I know I am biased, but I don't think the broadcasters have been fair about the Tiger pitching. I was really irritated when Howard was hyping game 3 of the LCS (Howard loves Detroit :-)) and he said that nobody knew Liebrandt and almost everyone knew Wilcox, wouldn't it be great exposure for Liebrandt? I happen to think that there aren't very many people who knows Wilcox, besides Tiger followers. In game 1 of the series Garagiola really made me mad during the following exchange. Scully : "Well, Morris has really come on in these last few innings." Garagiola : "Yah, and we know if he gets in trouble, they have 'the franchise' down in the bullpen." (shot of Scherrer and Lopez warming up) G : "Of course I don't mean those two. I mean Hernandez." (shot of bullpen bench. Hernandez is in the middle) G : "There he is, 'Mr. Franchise', front and center." ARGH!!!! BTW, did anyone else besides me think the pre-game show was stupid? Did you expect to see some actors pretending they were in from 1903? Another thing. (Boy I have a lot of steam). Why do they keep saying that the Tigers are really experienced in the WS? They keep citing the fact that the Tigers have been to the series many times, and the Padres never? These aren't the same players as in 1968. FLAME OFF. I guess I like to root for the underdog and don't like the fact that that Tigers aren't the underdog. After seeing them blow it year after year, I am glad to see them in the WS. No predictions from me. I just hope they win and hope that if they win in Detroit, the fans don't destroy the stadium. (Any predictions on the # of police that will line the field?) -- Carol Preston {sri-unix, amd, hpda, harpo, ihnp4, allegra}!fortune!preston (415) 594-2891 Fortune Systems, 101 Twin Dolphin Pkwy, Redwood Shores, CA 94065
