We (The Earth Resourses Lab in building E34) now has a VAX 780 running
4.2 Unix. We are looking into buying a number of single-user
computers/workstations to take some of the load off the Vax. I would
like your thoughts on what we should buy. They would be used
primarily for text editing, probably using the Vax a file server.
Ideally the working environment should be as similiar as possible to
that on the Vax, i.e., a vi or EMACS editor. A Unix based operating
system would be nice, too. Price is a big consideration, since we
indend to buy lots of these things.

I am not on this mailing list, so please respond directly to me. I
will summarize and post the info I get.

Thanks in advance,
Stephen Gildea
