Is it possible to duplicate Beta Hi-Fi tapes using non-Hi-Fi VCRs?
This would seem to be a real possibility, since the Hi-Fi tracks are
simply placed within the wideband video signal and the same heads are
used. (I suspect that this would NOT work with VHS Hi-Fi, since new
heads are required to read the "layered" audio tracks.)

The only prevention I can think of would be filters in older decks which
would affect the frequencies now used for the Hi-Fi information.

Has anyone actually tried this?

Thanks,
