Here's another one. This happens to me nearly every day on
the New Jersey Garden State Parkway. I pass through the toll
plaza where I am relieved of 0.25$ for the privilege of driving
on 9 miles of straight, smooth pavement (rare in NJ) and some
cone-head behind me tries frantically to pass me in the 50 or so
yards between the toll plaza and the on-ramp. I don't even have
to see this clown in the rear-view to know (s)he's coming--I can
tell by the pathetic rattling and screaming of their engine
(this type of driving may also explain the large number of oil-
burners on the road; being an auto mechanic in NJ must be fairly
lucrative). Usually this putz will stop at nothing to get in front
of me before we reach the on ramp, so I slow up to avoid being
cut off or worse.
