Apple is *not* phasing out the //e (as far as most people know).  They
raised the price (according to Infoworld?) because they were selling
too many //e's and couldn't keep up with demand.  The important Christmas
season is coming up.  They had excess capacity for the //c so they
lowered its price and increased the //e price (by not selling a system)
to better balance the load on their production facilities.
