I thought of doing something similar when I got my external drive.  Wow, I
thought, I can make a master disk with all my fonts on it and have one big
scrapbook for all my applications.  Ho ho.  The scrapbook uses the disk
that the application came from, not the startup disk.  So much for that.  So
it appears that you're stuck with keeping the scrapbook on the Pascal disk
anyway.
