You, know, lately I have been witnessing a disturbing trend in males of my
age group (for those who need to know, it is the same as the yuppies- you
figure it out!). Obviously they have decided, as a group, to make up for
the years of frustration they had in high school. They have decided that
we (more than one of us..) poor innocent women should suffer the same
indecision, embarassment, and confusion that they did when they went through
those long teenage years. Apparently they have decided to pick up upon
the not-so-gentle art of being a tease.

Now, let's get the definition of teasing to be used out of the way. I am
not referring to the fun-and-games you and your siblings had (and probably
still have) with each other. I'm talking about the trash that a *lot* of
girls used to pull in high school; the painted on clothing, the longing
glances, the touches just *here* and *there*, and when one figured that
he knew what the young lady in question was looking for,and attempted
to respond, would receive a 'I'm not that kind of girl', or worse yet
 a response of total disinterest.

Now, I'll agree that it wasn't very nice on the part of the female to pull
this time and time again, but where did the males get the idea that this is
acceptable behaviour?	Do they think that women don't have nervous systems,
 also?

**Has this happened to you lately?**

Scenario: You're in class,at a party, at work, or at your favourite place
of recreation. Suddenly, an interesting male catches your eye.
You wander on over, and strike up a conversation. You give each
other the appropriate once over, and you decide that this just
might be worth pursuing. (time frame switches, this may be either
over the course of a few hours, or a few days) During this time
male in question has not been ignoring you. Meaningful glances
are exchanged, slightly ribald comments are made. Then you make
the *big date*, your nerves are strung tightly, and when you make
the suggestion (after all, this is the eighties),you get a,
'but, gosh, I just wanted to be friends' or 'huh? I *never*
gave out signals like that'. Ri-g-g-g-g-h-h-t-t. This guy has
spent the last four hours/two weeks/one month trying to make
you crazy, and then he pulls this!!

I mean, really now; do you guys get together in groups and compare notes,or
something? Did you see this on Phil Donahue, or what?	Am I going to have
to call Dr Ruth?

Other members of the female persuasion out there: is this happening to you
with increasing frequency? Do you wake up at 4 AM, terribly confused?

Maybe there is a chapter on it in the user's manual...
