We are in the market for a new water softener, and are curious
about the Kinetico water conditioners. Kinetico claims several
novel features, including:

+ fully automatic control valve that uses no electricity
+ softener regeneration is based on the amount of water
used, rather than on a timer, resulting in water
	  and salt savings
+ a dual tank (plus the brine tank) that allows soft
water to be available even during regeneration

The unit "sized" to our house sells for about $1600, including
installation. The salesman I talked to was from The Water Source
in Glen Ellyn, IL. I would appreciate any comments, suggestions,
warnings, etc., concerning the Kinetico products or the firm.
