Are you *SURE* this person was using Mobil One?  Mobil One has never had 
graphite in it.  It sounds like you are describing an oil  called  "Arco
Graphite".  This oil had very small graphite particles in it, and  there
were also commercials in magazines and on T.V. about it.  I  have  heard
some bad "rumours" about Arco Graphite, but since I have no personal ex-
perience with it, I don't know if the rumours are true or not. But Mobil
One has definitely *NEVER* had graphite in it....
