Are there any VHS machines out there which can scan in
fast forward?  If not, I would be interested in how people
skip commercials and other such nonsense.

And since cost has come up wrt Sony VCRs here is what
I purchased recently:

Sony 2415	$550
	Front loading, cable ready (select 14 of ~100 channels)
	Full featured remote control
	4 Event 21 day timer with voice ("Timer recording has begun..")

Has anyone purchased a VCR (Beta or VHS) with the above features
for under $500?  I didn't shop around too much.
