        Mark....

               Have the differential checked out, especially the
    differential oil level. This happened to me when I was in
    high school, same type of whirring noise, and being a typical
    high school kid, I ignored it for a while. Wound up needing
    a whole new unit put in. Let me know what it turns out to be.
