  I too miss the Joe Bob postings.  However I think that those of you 
  who object to their removal from the net are suggesting that someone
  else do something that you would not do.  If the copyright holder
  found out, which is bound to happen sooner or later, at very least
  there would be a stern letter from the copyright holder's lawerys.
  There would also be a very real posibility of a law suit.  Even if
  the suit did not succeed, there is a substancial cost in defending the
  case.  Many of those in print take the same dim view of their work 
  being reproduced without their permission that we in software take 
  toward software pirates.

  Finally reproducing things on the net can not be viewed in the same way
  as lending someone a book or newpaper.  Putting something on the net
  is similar to publishing.
