I'll be in LA the week after Thanksgiving and would like to hit the
slopes for a weekend. (Even in November the West looks good to us
Easterners.) I'd appreciate any advice, such as:

  - Where am I likely to find decent conditions (preferably within
about a 4-5 hour drive) at that time?
  - What will conditions be like then?
  - What level of skiing will I find on any mountains you suggest?
I'm looking for advanced and advanced intermediate.

I'll post a summary of any responses I get (or post it yourself).
Thanks.
