Having lived in three different states (Massachusetts, Maine, and New
Hampshire), I feel qualified to *flame* about drivers in all three
states...

1. Massachusetts- As many of you may know, Mass. drivers, particularly
in the Boston area, have a reputation as being among the most
obnoxious drivers in the country. This reputation, I must say,
is well-deserved. Hardly a week goes by when I'm not *hassled*
by someone while commuting to work. These hassles include being
run off the road, being *forced* to drive at dangerous rates of
speed (70+) in order to get out of someone's way, and having
my windows pounded on by people who seem to have a grudge against
the world in general. Just the other day, I was driving out of
Boston, minding my own business, I might add, and I came to a
4-lane stretch of road. All of a sudden, some guy in a Saab
seemed to think he had a sole proprietorship on that piece of
roadway, and came veering towards me, apparently trying to ram
me off the road. Since I was in the proper lane, and intended
to turn off soon, I did not move, other than to veer out of his
way to avoid a collision. When we got to the next stoplight, he
got out of his car and started pounding on my window. Luckily,
the light changed soon, so I was able to *escape* by swerving
    among other cars. Outrageous!

 2. Maine- Although the drivers in Maine are much more polite and
coureous than in Mass., they have their problems too. Their
favorite trick seems to be their method of entering roadways.
They will sit at an intersection, and wait for an oncoming car
to get near them. As soon as the car is reasonably close, they
suddenly screech their tires and pull out in front of the other
driver. I have yet to determine what they are trying to accomplish..

3. New Hampshire- I can't really think of too many complaints
concerning New Hampshire drivers. The only time they become
obnoxious is when they see drivers of Massachusetts, New York,
or Connecticut cars. Then they go all-out to get in their
way, and to drive as slowly as possible in front of them. I
can't say I blame them, though, because the tourists do tend
to get pretty overbearing when they are in N.H.
