Well, I'd say you have a couple of serious problems there.

1. You believe more-or-less absolutely in a spook-in-the-sky

2. You believe in the particular interpretations one set of frequently
self-drugged people (what do you think \your/ mind would be like after
40 days in the wilderness) have placed on the rules other group of equally
strange people allege were handed down by the above-mentioned spook.

Under the circumstances, I doubt it's worthwhile having a serious discussion
with you, although I can understand the people who flame at you; I share the
conclusion of many of them that people with your kind of rigid, absolutist
belief structure are responsible for far more than their share of the world's
misery \\regardless// of the nature of the beliefs. I tend to flame only at
people/things I might be able to move by it, or I'd flame at you myself
("filthy practices" your sainted aunt's grape juice! I was told after they
graduated that two of the most civilized people I knew at my high school were
gay.)
