(assuming no stealth ring) For some monsters, like nymphs and Lep's that chance is 0% and other monsters like A's and R's it is quite high, but not 100%. (If you are lucky you can back away from an aquator and take off your armor if it doesn't wake up.) Party rooms seem to add a certain percent chance to those odds, so a N in a Party room will USUALLY awaken when you enter. I found that when you enter a party room through the door, there is a rush of monsters that attack, then when (if) you defeat them and go around collecting the treasure, it seems there is always a sleeping L or N you walk next to which then wakes up and does their dirty trick. I would guess a "party" room has about a 75% chance added to the monster's chance to awaken. Hope this helps. Mike Moroney ..!decwrl!rhea!jon!moroney
