I have found that with myself, a woman needs to show an interest...but not overdo it. If someone >gloms< onto me, I suffocate and do not have a chance to be their friend. However, if she winks an interest my way and yet exudes an aire of "I am content with my life, maybe even busy with it, but I would like to make room for you", I am MOST interested. If I suspect that she really does like me, yet plays "hard-to-get" games, I get turned of as I figure that it reflects the level of her thinking in general. If she gives me the turned-up-nose, I figure that she is not worth the trouble of chasing. However, if she seems friendly and is not making any indications of further attraction, I will feel free to take some time to get to know her (and vice versa) so that a proper decision can be made (i.e. to remain friends or otherwise). Unfortunately, I have come to make judgements (sorry to use such a word) regarding potential companions very quickly, so my chances for making a wrong choice is high due to the quickness of the conclusion. On the other hand, when thinking "Nah, I must be pre-judging this gal" and get to know her better, I usually (<- not always) find that my original thinking was correct. I think we can all relate to this with people that we meet: experience gives us good judgement as there indeed appear to be certain types of people. We all know that we can fairly easily misjudge people - and I expect we've all done our share - but first impressions can't always be wrong. On the other hand... I'm still looking.
