The current issue (Oct 84?) of IEEE Spectrum magazine has an interesting
article concerning electronics in the new LUXURY 85's. For an example
(this is from memory, I don't have it with me) the 85 Mark VII will have a CRT
display in the center of the dash. On the steering wheel are buttons to
select the various functions of the CRT: provide a control panel for
heating and cooling or provide the switches for a radio, etc... This is
a touch screen, so the driver just touches the displayed function ("Warmer",
for example) and it is executed. Sounds rather neat, but I'd like to play
with it in the driveway for a while before taking it out - one might tend
to forget about the road while marvelling at the neat CRT!
