Hmm... I don't believe his powers are "magic"; they might almost be
considered religious, as he seems to be the shade of a dead man with the
power to warp reality.  Rather nastily, I might add; I remember someone
mentioning in a previous posting of the old Jim Aparo issues of the Spectre
wher loads of pretty gruesome stuff happened.  See if you like being turned
into wood and then aimed at a buzzsaw....  Anyway, I always figured that his
powers came from the Big Man or Woman Upstairs (maybe as a counterpart to
Satan... you know, punish the wicked, but, like, RIGHT NOW, instead of after
they bite it...)
