I'm finishing my final year as an undergraduate at the University of
Waterloo, and I am interested in going to graduate school either in
the US or the UK. Are there things I should be looking out for, as
I start now to send off applications. I think I have what I want to
study and where it is best to study it under control, but I have a
suspicion that there are technicalities lurking in the background that
might cause a little bit of trouble later on, if I'm not prepared.

Can anyone who has gone to the US or UK from another country offer any
words of advice?
