(For those who have never heard the song's lyrics, it has something to do with a cake, which I believe represents her romance, and the rain, and baking, etc. The whole thing comes off rather like a particularly bad interpretation of the Song of Solomon, where everything stands for something else.) This one is particularly obnoxious as it seems to have lived on long past its deserved lifetime in the repertoire of bar bands. Then again, let us not forget "I am Woman". Rumor has it that Mary Travers tried to record it once, but could never get past those lyrics about "I am strong/I am invincible/I am Woman" without breaking out in hysterical laughter. National Lampoon's record "Good-bye Rock" has a particularly vicious send up of this song. -- "I've seen the needle and the damage done" -- Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle Rick Keir -- MicroComputer Information Center, MACC {allegra, ihnp4, seismo}!uwvax!uwmacc!rick 1210 West Dayton St/U Wisconsin Madison/Mad WI 53706
