All members use the National 32000 series CPUs. Our version of Unix (TM), called UTek is based on 4.2 with lots of System V stuff pulled over. The 6100 series coes in 3 models (all 32016 based): 6110 execute only box runing a real time operating system 256K RAM, 360K floppy 6120 mini-UTek with an interactive basic compiler/intereter layered on top (kernel is complete just a subset of utilities due to disk space limitations). 1MB RAM, 10MB disk, 360K floppy 6130 Standard UTek based workstation, 1MB memory, 20 MB disk, 360K floppy. All 6100 series come with 2 RS-323-C Async ports, medium speed GPIB, IEEE 802.3 LAN (ethernet). Available options include display (640 x 480 13" color or 640 x 480 15" monochrome), printer and hardcopy interfaces (centronics compatable), general purpose parallel ports, high speed GPIB, additional serial ports, SCSI interface, and PC coprocessor (runs MS-DOS). The display includes an additional 32016 CPU. Options are available to substitute either a 10, 20, 40, or 80 Mbyte disk for the standard drive. An external 40 Mbyte cartridge tape is also available. The 6200 series also comes in 3 models. All contain a 32016 based I/O processor (2 ST560 style disk, LAN, 3 RS-323-C async ports, 1 RS-232-C/RS-422 async/sync port, centronics compatable printer/hardcopy port, SCSI interface for internal tape and floppy). 6205 32016 based system, 1MB ram, 40 Mbyte disk, 5 slot cage 6210 32032 based system, 1MB ram, 40 Mbyte disk, 7 slot cage 6212 dual 32032 based system, 4MB ram, 80 Mdisk, 7 slot cage The 6200 series display contains an independant 32016 (or 32032) processor (with up to 12 Mbytes of RAM), a microcoded display list processor (for both BitBlt and line drawing primitives). Screen is a 19 inch screen 1024 x 768 pixels color or monochrome. Available options include: additional disk drive (40 or 80 Mbytes) substitute standard drive for an 80 various expansion ram configurations multibus adapter providing connectoins for SMD disk controller w/ up to 4 280 Mbyte drives 9-track tape controller for 1600 BPI streaming drive versatec printer/plotter interface additional printer and hardcopy interfaces (centronics compatable), general purpose parallel ports, high speed GPIB, additional serial ports, SCSI interface All display systems come with a keyboard and mouse. Tablets are also available. We have done a significant ammount of work in software. UTek is a 4.2 based system. We have added shared memory between processes (fork is now done with copy on write, vfork is gone), a distributed file system (you can even cd to a remote directory). We have cleaned up the network server area (we have a tcp server instead of having 20 or so proceses around waiting for connections). We use the MDQS print spooler and the MH mailer (with sendmail underneath) Manuals have gotten a thorough going over. There are many new tutorials. Man pages have been verified against the code for accuracy (including error returns, error messages, etc.). Examples have been added to many of the manual pages.
