I've just talked to Apple, and as of today, the 512K upgrade is available
for the Macintosh. The price? A whopping $995. They explained that this
is simply the difference in price (not cost) between their two models of
Macintosh, the 512K and the 128K models. Your only consolation is that as
a old-timer, you will be able to get MacDraw/MacProject free with the upgrade.
Big deal! I don't know about you, but I have no need for MacDraw nor
MacProject. I told them that they need to come up with a fairer solution
before I and everybody else who doesn't want MacDraw and MacProject will
upgrade. I think if enough people complain, then they will change their
minds. I suggested that instead of limiting us to one software package, we
should get a voucher for N dollars of the software of our choice. Perhaps
you can come up with other solutions. If you disagree with this fascist
policy of Apple's as I do, please let them know. There is power in numbers!
