The reason they are painted that color,(and its not just in Lafayette, but also
all around the country), is that some blue-ribbon panel of scientist types
did a study that showed that that particular color was more apt to be
noticed by the largest number of people. Kind of makes you wonder how anyone
could overlook something as large as a fire engine in the first place, eh?
Also, I've nevr heard of anyone being color blind to that particular color.
