Until then, I'll keep my Impala, thank you. > If you think your Impala will protect you against a loaded semi, you're dreaming the impossible dream. And concrete dividers will do a pretty fair piece of damage to any car. You bet they'll stop you, 'cause that's what they're designed to do--they'd rather kill the drunk or sleeping driver who hits the barrier than let him get to the wrong side and play bumper cars at 110+mph closing speeds. As far as low dividers (curb height), the car's undercarriage is proportioned to its size; you can end up folding up the wheels and ground-surfing in almost any sort of car. As for trees, the range between what stops a Toyota and what stops an Impala isn't that big in comparison with the total size-range of trees. Hmmm...I can understand some concern about misguided 18-wheelers, but as I said, you don't have too much of a chance against them anyway. As for the other stuff, geez Rick, why don't you just drive on the road. I mean, that Impala may be more durable, but it's NOT much as an all-terrain vehicle. -- Dick Dunn {hao, ucbvax, allegra}!nbires!rcd (303)444-5710 x3086 ...Relax...don't worry...have a homebrew.
