Wait a second.  RED skin?  The pilot I saw at a lecture by Gene Roddenberry
was the one which did not feature Captain Kirk.  The pilot was in black and
white.  Spock was definitely more emotional, but I don't remember anything
in the pilot mentioning his skin color.
