There is something I've always wondered about VHS--why do all
VHS machines have to unload the tape when not playing?  What
is it about the VHS format that makes it impossible for some
manufacturer to change the drive logic so that it leaves the
tape loaded, as in all Beta format machines?  I will post responses.
