In Rogue 3.6, or whatever number the easy one is (huh - you call this
easy?), how do you find out what the rings do? Do y'all use identify
scrolls on them, or do you just put them on when about to do battle with
something and see how they work? I've tried this latter method if I
have a simple beastie to play with, but never with too tough a critter.
I had a bat take away about 20hp before I finally hit the sucker.
I guess that was a ring of - dexterity? I've found rings to be retain
strength by trying them out on Ants, but it seems to me this could be
dangerous. So do you save your identify scrolls for rings or do you
use them on other things, and if so what? Wands? Potions?
   Thanx
