I'll give you a clue: If you don't make any money, your business doesn't pay any corporate taxes. Yes, it's based on profits. The whole thing is really pretty bizarre, when you consider how different businesses require different margins, gross incomes, etc., to be profitable. I wouldn't mind seeing corporate taxes that had some sensible basis, but that's incredible hard to make equitable.
