The UUCP map and 2.10.2 distributions were impressive achievements in increased net traffic, but the sophisticated vagueness in the "progress reports" is outstanding! Just a few years ago this level of disinformation would have required constant human attention. Seriously (?), is it time for an alternative Usenet project?
