If you already own a Prometheus ProModem 1200 (or 300 I would guess), you
may not have the latest radio interference filters.  This could mean that
the signal from the local radio station is interfering with you communication.

Prometheus has fixed this problem and all new modems should already have
the fix.  If your's doesn't, call (415) 490-8101 and ask for the filters.
Unfortunately, I don't know know to tell (without hearing a radio station)
whether or not your modem already has the filters.

I love the ProModem 1200, it has numerous features over the Hayes SmartModem
and a price that is about $150 less.
