Actually Valdy (Valdi?) is one man.  He sings folk songs and was popular on
the small town circuit of North America.  I have not heard anything about
him for a while.

On an interesting note, he comes from a very wealthy family in Toronto.  He
rejected his father's lifestyle, however and chose music instead.  If his
attire is any indication, he has not made much money from music but I don't
think that's why he does what he does.

I have spoken with him a couple of times and find him to be a very
approachable and grass-roots kind of person.
