Honestly, if you are going to turn on any lights, turn on the headlights as well. The parking lights may be just fine to get your rearend marked, but they are not very useful in a forward direction. In Maryland, you are required to use your headlights in periods of darkness or whenever the visibility drops below some amount (I'm not sure exactly). What I use my parking lights for is to see my dashboard (Damned black back-lit instrument panel, is readable in the subdued light only with the marker lights on). And if you drive, use the LOW-BEAMS. EVEN in the day time. There is nothing more annoying than some fool behind you in the fog with his damned high beams on. -Ron
