But who really cares what that dumb slob Herbert thinks anyway?  After reading
an interview with him in Omni (don't flame me for reading Omni - I learned
my lesson after subscribing to that rag!) I could not beleive how pompous
and conceited he was.  Most of his other books (Dosadi Experiment, Hellstrom's
Hive and stuff like that) are pure babble.  By some strange freak of nature
though, (something like putting an infinite number of monkeys in front of as
many typewriters) he came up with a masterpiece like Dune.

After all his other Dune books I feel that he has totally lost track of the
original eloquence  of the story.  And therefore if he thinks the movie is
good, it's probably a bad omen for us all!
