Sorry to get your hopes up by leaving this response..
I don't have the answer you're looking for.  BUT--I'd like
to hear from you if you DO get an answer.  I also use the
VIP terminal.  My problem is the fact that I bought the cartridge
version back when it was called the Super Color Terminal.  Now
that I've graduated to a disk drive, I'm reluctant to unplug my
drive to use the cartridge..and I can't find a way to back it up
to disk.  I include all of this just in case you might have
any thoughts on the matter.

And you thought this was going to be a termcap...
