Does anyone out there know of any sources of machine readable text of
books? I am particularly interested in the works of Shakespeare and Joyce,
as well as certain technical books (Latin dictionaries, lexicons, etc).

The desirable media would be ASCII text on mag tape but floppies would
be OK for smaller works.
