I go to Riyadh twice a year and there is many western women in that city. There is a u.s. military presence in that city of which many are women. You would enjoy it immensly if you got together with the nurses, wives, kids etc. As far as meeting arab women I think they would get a kick out of it too. It is difficult, but if you take on the attitude that you are being protected rather then mistreated then the time will go better. I would not plan on working with men or teaching them. Riyadh is the first place I've ever been where I felt totally safe. You can have money hanging from clothes and carry all your jewels with you and never get the feeling that you are about to die. Some people can't resist but they don't get far in that city and are put to death or maimed on friday at noon (good show, by the way). And yes there are men there. ctvax!uokvax!uok!mpackard
