Please remember that people use MANY different programs to read news/notes.
Not all of them have the same features you're used to using on your own
system.  (In fact, not everyone is even running UNIX.)  When posting advice
on how to use a given feature of news/notes/whatever, it helps to indicate
which programs/versions you are using.  Similarly, when asking for info,
it helps to let people know what software you're running.

I suppose I should include a joke here to avoid flames, so here it is:
