Thank you all for the information on fleas, flea collars, ultrasonic
collars, ultrasonic gadgets, ... For interest, about 1/2 the people
who bought and used ultrasonic gadgets thought they were great and the
other 1/2 thought they were a ripoff.
Several people sent mail suggesting brewers yeast.
I have been feeding my dog brewers yeast daily since she was a puppy.
She is now 7 months old and weights 42 lbs. I feed her 2 tablespoons
daily. She loves it and so do the fleas.
I also have tried the citrus organic flea sprays and dips. The spray is
useless for the fleas but the dip does kill the ones on her.
I tried an 'organic' flea collar. It smelled awful and has no effect on
fleas. I tried flea-bombing our house ( 2 bombs, one for each floor) while
the dog was being flea-dipped elsewhere. I also sprayed the car. And what did I
see the very next day, you guessed it.
I am going to try the ultrasonic flea collar. I won't really know how
effective it is until next summer but I figure I might as well give it
a try now. If this also fails, it is a flea collar whether I like it or not.
I was told to carefully read the label on those and look for one
which contains something-or-other vinyl which I will do. Thanks Ron.
I had problems trying to answer some of your mail and I
thought some of this might be of interest.
