(also Version 5.3) After checking around with a few friends, including one who got the amulet, I found out that when a 'party room' is created, these possibilites exist: 1) in a large room, is good chance that some monsters will be sleeping, but most likely you are sure to find some awake, if not most 2) in a small room, for some reason it always seems that the monsters are awake, (especially if you are teleported into it) but I guess this is by chance... although it always seems that way. perhaps the monsters wake each other up, who knows.... So, either you have a bug in you version, or just terrible luck. .... jim lahren
