Flames, strictly speaking, belong in net.flame They WILL occur via spontaneous generation in other groups. The readers of the groups will grow tired of them, spawning the tiresome series of "Oh, McGawd, will you PLEEEEEZE move that to net.flame!!" and related articles. This increases the density of sheer STUFF on that newsgroup, which has to be enned over, and annoys the readers of that newsgroup. Now, by forking to net.flame EARLY in a series, one can ensure that the discussion will move to that group, and that it will be able to die out in the original without whining by the flamers. So, that's why. Now, Lisssssa SSSSSSSSSChabot, why did you post a real question to net.flame instead of to net.flame.d? And don't give me any of that bewhuckey about net.flame.d not being a real newsgroup!! Hutch
