This is in response to various comments/questions recently posted. I did not buy a 1702 monitor, because I wanted to save the money by using my Sanyo 13" color monitor, which has composite video input only. I found the easiest, quickest solution to be a cable that mixes the chroma and luminance signals together correctly for such a monitor (for a monochrome monitor, the luminance only is needed). I paid $9.95 for it at Creative Computers in the Beaverton Mall (near Portland, Oregon). It uses a 5-pin DIN connector which works fine on my 8-pin C-64 and will also work on the older, 5-pin models. I have not worked with the 1702, but I'm sure it's picture quality would be a little better. The cable also has the audio brought out to a separate RCA plug. I have not dissected the cable yet but if there is enough interest, I will post details on the internals for those who cannot find one already built or who want to do it themselves.
