Honestly, I don't think McCartney meant us to take the words seriously. As I recall, "Silly Love Songs" also appeared on this album (Wings at the Speed of Sound), and the lyrics to that were pretty silly (How can I tell you about my loved one ...) but I don't believe (and I think I heard it on an interview somewhere) that McCartney intended for those to be 'fun' songs. Goodness, Marilyn, you're making me feel old! Those songs are not that old!
