In trying to install DATAPLOT on a VAX 11/780 under Berkeley 4.1 Unix
I came upon this error message compiling the very first FORTRAN 77
source file:

dp01.f:
   MAIN:
Compiler error line 737 of dp01.f: Too many names.  Try the -Nn option

compiler error.


I suspect that this has to do with increasing the symbol table size, but
my efforts to guess at it's usage got me nowhere.  What does the -Nn option
do (if it does anything) and where is it's documentation located?
