I admit that I look for gas mileage and price. I also look for performance, though. I have yet to drive an American made car that doesn't have soft suspension and wimpy steering. You turn the wheel and can't even tell that it has done anything. I don't neccesarily look for a car that has acceleration of 0-60 in 2.9 seconds and a top speed approaching c. But one that you can feel what the car is doing, and feel what you're making the car do is nice. For some reason, the Germans can do this very well, why can't the U.S. car builders. Don't they realize that there are a number of people who still enjoy to drive, not just sit in a plush, soft seat behind a wheel that occaisionally needs adjustment. Cars are for transportation. Cars should also be for fun. Those of you who don't think so, go ahead and buy American (flame away). Re: California Stops Is that the worst thing you can think of when driving in California? How about the left lane bandits. The people who get out in the left lane and refuse to go faster than 55? I realize this is the speed limit. I also realize that I risk my license each time I drive 80. I doesn't worry me that much. If they are out for a Sunday cruise, they can find a lane other than the left one to drive in. There are also the people who weave across 4 or 5 lanes of traffic. This may be a result of the LLB's, but I still think that there is no place that anyone would be in that much of a hurry. And as far as I'm concerned, this has gone past fun driving and is out and out dangerous. "Sorry, buddy. You don't own the road." My third complaint is the solid line of people who won't let you into the exit lane. You sit there with your turn signal on and someone might let you in ten miles past your exit. Why doesn't everybody be more courteous to others while driving without infringing on their right to drive. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Andy Banta {decvax!allegra!inhp4}!pucc-k!agz Alcohol Design and Application Corp. --- Serving people over 21 years. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "One foot on the brake, one foot on the gas.
