Try putting a simple network between your CD player and your preamp to correct for the dumb mastering on the CD with the 3db peak. THEN listen to Ms. McBroom or anything else that lacks the "air" or whatever. When you listen to a CD that's properly recorded (and there ARE quite a few around) THEN you can comment on the "lifelike" nature of discs vs. CD's, if you can still find it through all the noise. I guess I have to figure out a way to put a schematic diagram in standard ascii. -- BE KIND TO SOFT FURRY CREATURES, THE LIFE YOU SAVE MAY BE YOUR OWN!
