I think that the `message' of these courses can be summed up in
just a few words:

GIVE UP YOUR EXCUSES, WAKE UP, AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR LIVING YOUR LIFE.

Sounds simple, no? Well, lots of people bury themselves in excuses,
drift blindly through life, and don't take responsibility for themselves.
Why? Fear, and habit. So what do these courses do? Show the futility
of excuses, the stupidity of self-numbing, and the finally the joy of
feeling in firm contact with your life, resulting in the realization
that there was nothing to fear in the first place. (And just knowing
this does no good--you have to be made to *feel* it.)

Their methods are sometimes extreme, their trappings pretentious, and
their marketing obnoxious. And the self-serving gobbledygook they
dress their simple message in is often a part of this marketing.

But, they often work. They aren't my cup of tea, but that doesn't
mean they aren't yours.
