Can anybody give me references to any material on "e" (i.e.
2.71828...)? The type of stuff I'm looking for would in the style of a
Martin Gardner article: somewhat technical, but not overwhelming. I'm
looking for a book/article along the lines of the book "The Divine
Proportion", which is all about the golden ratio.

Thanks in advance.
