This isn't precisely in line with what I've read thus far in this
news group, but I feel that an input should be here. My input will
hardly be unemotional.
I am pro-choice *until* it's my baby who's life is being jeopardized.
Unfortunately, I've never heard of any laws that require a father to make
a choice about abortion. It's been my understanding that a woman has the
final and only say about the life she carries within her regardless of the
existance of another parent who would be perfectly willing to raise and be
responsible for the baby.
In this set of circumstances, is the fetus more human than a totally
unwanted fetus? I am unable to view the abortion of my baby as anything
other than murder. In this circumstance, what right has a mother to kill
someone else's child? The issue becomes one of a few months of discomfort,
not one of a lifetime of unwanted responsibility.

As I stated at the beginning of this message, I am unable to comment
with emotional detachement. This letter was prompted by an unpleasant
experience, not by whimsical intellectualization.
I hope I've encouraged some responses, especially from you other
pro-choice people.
