I'm a female engineer and have been dating someone with whom I
work for over 10 months. My beau and I have worked together on several
projects, although we currently have different assignments. Working
together has *some* advantages:
                    1. good communication
                    2. mutual respect and regard
                    3. we both enjoy our work - so we sometimes discuss
work after hours while we are being social with
                       one another (i.e. convenience)
                    4. it's nice to see him everyday, even in a strictly
                       business situation
                    5. it is sometimes easier to be frank with one another
		       concerning business matters
		    6. we share many of the same interests, including
	               work-related endeavors

This is not to say that we do not have our problems. My beau
is 4 years older than I and has worked for the company for 2 years longer.
When we get into technical disagreements, this makes it harder for me to
prove that I am right ( i.e. it gets very tiring being challenged all
the time and always feeling like I am less knowledgeable). Occasionally
work spills over into our social life, but the reverse ( social life
brought into work) is *fairly* rare. And although we can be more frank
with one another, this makes it easier to stomp on and hurt each other's
feelings without realizing it. We must tread lightly at times.

All things considered, I'm not sure I would reccomend dating
someone that you work with. But for me, it has been worthwhile.
