<** FLAME ON **> (non-obligatory, merely gratuitous)

Now you have finally mentioned something I am tired of! It is
no more, nor less, reasonable to ask a woman to put the seat *UP*
when she is through so the man doesn't have to move it than it is
to ask the man to put the seat down so she doesn't have to check
before sitting on the cold porcelain. Oh, sure, the man isn't going
to sit on the cold un-seat if he doesn't check, but if he is at all
decent he is going to have to clean up the mess of having leaked all
over the seat. [Even in net.flame I won't mention my opinion of
and silly b*tch who doesn't even look first!]

<** FLAME OFF **>

Now for something completely different, a man with a two seater! :-)
[My uncle used to bemoan the loss of the old two seat outhouse as a
means of getting to know your neighbors and relatives better.] I
would like to propose a better solution still: why don't we all put
both the seat and the LID down. That way we all have to look, nobody
sits on cold prcelain and the comode looks much better.
