The error comes about because the assembler did not know enough to mention that some data definitions where outside any data segement. It produced meaningless code which the linker then realized was meaningless but could not tell me why. It is irritating that the assembler produces illegal code without telling you it did such. Anybody know of any really good assemblers out there? Bernie Gunther
