For those TV addicts who want a handheld portable, there is now a
color LCD model. The June, 84, CES special issue of CONSUMER
ELECTRONICS, a trade publication, has an ad and a tiny blurb about
the "Epson Elf":

"Add a brand new name to the color TV arena. Epson -- a familiar brand
in the personal computer field -- is taking the wraps off its version
of a mini handheld TV set, a color LCD unit expected to sell in the $500
range.

Called the Epson Elf, the tiny set has a two-inch screen containing,
according to the firm, 'a unique, ultra-thin color display panel of
super-sensitive liquid crystals, permitting faster response to the
electronic signals that create a TV image than previously possible.'

Elf measures 3.5 inches tall, with a width of 6.3 and a depth of 1.22
inches, and weighs slightly over a pound. It is scheduled to ship in
October."
