I wholeheartedly agree that B&Bing around the British Isles is one of
the nicer ways to see the countryside(in fact my sister & brother-in-law
run one in Anglesey).
However as a previous poster pointed out there are some drawbacks.

1.Very rarely will you have a bath/shower in your room.
(Usually its situated down the hall, remember to take a bath robe)

   2. Most B&B are not situated in the centres of towns but on the outskirts
so you might be away from the attractions that drew you to a specific
      area.

   3. From memory I recall it was more difficult to get accomodations whilst
travelling alone(they get more money letting the room out to couple
than to one person and they normally only have a few rooms available).

I FEEL THAT ANYONE THAT IS ADVENTUROUS ENOUGH TO GO HIKING OR CYCLING
AROUND THE COUNTRY SHOULD (AND WOULD ) NOT BE DETERRED BY ANY OF THE ABOVE.

The benefits are well worth it.You are made to feel like a long lost
relative. The breakfasts can be totally astounding(vary from house to house).
