He tells it much better than I can type it! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- One day this elementary school teacher asked her pupils to write a short essay on one of the greatest lovers in history. A short while later, when they had finished, the teacher began to ask the pupils who they had written about. "Who would like to tell me who they chose to write about as the greatest lover in history?" asked the teacher innocently. "Yes, Mary, who did you write about?" the teacher asked one of her best pupils who had eagerly raised her hand. "I wrote about Romeo and Juliet," beamed Mary. "They were the greatest lovers in history." "Very good," smiled the teacher. "Who else would like to tell me who they wrote about? Yes, Billy, who did you write about?" the teacher asked another prize pupil who had also raised his hand. "I wrote about Casanova," answered Billy. "He was one of the greatest lovers in history." "That's very good, also," smiled the teacher. "Is there anyone else who would like to tell the class who they chose to write about? Out of the corner of her eye she spied little Johnny *very* eagerly thrusting his arm into the air desperate to be called on. Realizing that she had no other choice she acknowledged little Johnny. "Johnny, who did you write about as the greatest lover in history?" she asked with some trepidation. "I wrote about Hugo Pepilini," beamed Johnny. "He's the greatest lover in history." The teacher had second thoughts but she had started this and decided to see it through. "I'm sorry, Johnny, but I've never heard of Hugo Pepilini. You must be mistaken." "Oh, no," answered Johnny with conviction in his voice. "I read about it in the paper just the other day. I have it here. You want to see it?" "Why, yes," answered Johnny's teacher, a bit curious just what little Johnny's mind was up to now. Johnny came forward and handed the teacher a copy of the front page from last weeks newspaper. On it she saw the following headline: "HUGE PIPELINE LAID COAST-TO-COAST" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dennis Vogel, AT&T Information Systems
