View, CA Lines: 23 Okay, let's see who really has weird software. This is being posted for a site not on the net. Please forward responses directly to me. The site has two perkin-elmer systems (8/32 and 3240) which will run some form of Unix in the near future (PEs or TWG or something). Connected to this is an Ikonas system running a v7 system. The connection (the strange situation) is via a large image memory (frame buffer). These people (who run flight simulators) would like to perform things like file transfer between the PEs (currently running OS/32) and the Ikonas. At this time, it is not even possible to perform tape or disk backup (very shaky). I know very little about PEs. Eventually, some SUN workstations and an Ethernet will be installed (as will and E&S CT5A system), but the problem is file transfer using a frame buffer. Anybody have anything? (Don't forget the receiving side currently runs OS/32). Tough nut to crack. --eugene miya NASA Ames Research Center {dual,hplabs,hao,research}!ames-lm!eugene emiya@ames-vmsb (arpa)
