I really have to agree with Sophie on this one; there is no surer
path to self-centeredness than self-pity.  Putting a MOTDS (Member
Of The Desired Sex) on a pedestal is often just a ruse for obsession
with one's own (poor) self-image.

I'd rather not have to ask my SO to tell me how good I get to feel
about myself today...
