I have an innate tendency to try to smooth things, so my traditional
reaction is to bottle it up, or at worse to sulk. This was a major
factor in causing a breakup a couple of years ago; it's also rather
unhealthy.

So, I've been trying to teach myself a similar reaction to what Chuq
espouses: grasping the bull by the tail and confronting the
situation immediately, not with hostility but making it clear that I
am angry. It's what my SO prefers, too, and so far it's worked,
except I find that my subconscious often hides things for me which
turn up after they've gotten a bit old. Sigh. Back to work.
