I have several male acquaintances that often complain that
there are 2 types of women in this world: 1) the mainipulative,
self-serving women that they date, and 2) those women who are
one-of-the-guys, friends with the same values and interests, but
someone you would never consider dating.
I, for one, have never understood why anyone would ever
date someone that they couldn't treat as a friend. This type of
situation, however, seems to be happening all the time. These
acquaintances seem to be looking for happiness everywhere but their own
backyards (sorry, Dorothy).

The people that I am closest to, are those that relate to people
as people, not as 'men-I-would-date', 'men-who-are-just-friends',
'women-I-would-date', and 'women-who-are-just-friends'. I have never
gotten along well with anyone (male or female) who manipulated others
in a dating situation or otherwise. I want friends, not rivals.

To conclude, I agree that there are 2 types of people. Those
who categorize men and women, and those who see people as people.
I just don't understand the reasoning behind dating someone you wouldn't
want as friend. (I must admit that I categorize people; only I lump
both men and women into 2 categories: 1) those I like, and 2) those
that I don't like as much.)
