In response to the articles I have seen regarding BMW technical advice
published in the "BMW News", written by Orlando Obadiah ("Oak") Okleshen,
Oak and the BMWMOA directors had a difference regarding the level of
support to be given to his work (which I always considered to single most
valuable benefit I derived from MOA membership). This difference of opinion
resulted in Oak's resignation as Tech Editor for the magazine. Oak is still
the chairman of the ChiTech committee (Chicago Region Owners Association
Technical Committee). In addition to his regular, full-time job as an
engineer, Oak is now employed as service manager at Southwest Suburban
Triumph (a BMW dealer) in one of the far south Chicago suburbs (South
Chicago Heights?).

He has performed several modification/enhancement jobs on my R/100-RS,
and I am using the dual ignition system that was developed jointly by him
and Chuck Walus. Both of these gentlemen do ABSOLUTELY first rate, meticulous
work. They analyze problems and don't pick up a wrench or start replacing
parts until they are sure that they understand the problem fully. They're
not the cheapest around, but their quality is beyond comparison!
