RESEARCHERS SAY SMOKING MORE SIGNIFICANT
THAN SEX IN PENNSYLVANIA

The December issue of SCIENCE 83 (published by AAAS as a
'popular' magazine) reports in a brief news item on a study in
Erie, Pennsylvania of about 8000 deaths due to disease (not accident).
According to their results, all but 10% of the difference in
life expectancy between men and women was shown to be due to
smoking.

No one study is conclusive, but this is certainly an interesting
result.
