Although I do like much of his music and guitar playing, there was no excuse for the slop that he played on MTV. By the way, Jeff Beck was pretty good. Simon Phillips played a few nice things on drums, but he seemed to play too much straight time. I was a little disappointed in Fernando Saunders (seeing as though he played in the One Truth Band w/John McLaughlin).
