If I had taken the advice of never dating someone I worked with, I
would have missed out on one of the most passionate (and enjoyable)
romances of my life, with a person who is now one of my best friends.
I guess that is the key--an ugly breakup can interfere with working
relationships, but a friendly one won't.  So though I find warnings
against dating coworkers sobering because of the possible danger, I
think it silly to make it a blanket rule--at least for me.  So much
depends upon how you and your possible SO handle relationships.
