Radio Shack is going to discontinue the Model 4P (portable) computer from their line, probably within the month. The gentleman at a local computer shop (also an RS dealer) couldn't believe it, but the decision has been made. RS is going to produce a portable version of the 2000, saying the 4P's inability to expand beyond 2 disks precluded further use of the system in the RS computer line... Also, if you've wanted a Model 4 desktop, if you can wait a few months, you'll pick up one for about $1,000. RS is evidently getting ready to move into the Apple-type computer systems for the home instead of business, and the 50% price reduction on the 4 is a step in that direction .. Did you bother to check the above with anybody (possibly including anyone here at trsvax???) I won't say exactly how far off base you are, but somewhere out of the ball park and down the street may apply.
