Re-runs Message-ID: <783@ihuxp.UUCP> Date: Fri, 15-Jun-84 18:18:05 EDT Article-I.D.: ihuxp.783 Posted: Fri Jun 15 18:18:05 1984 Date-Received: Fri, 22-Jun-84 00:33:50 EDT References: <1119@ihuxr.UUCP> Organization: AT&T Bell Labs, Naperville, IL Lines: 32 I have made a new discovery. That is that T.V. has affected our lives to the point that not only do we copy the T.V. shows (as has been proved by articles posted in T.V. guide, the difinitive guide to our times), but that we know longer are affected by the moon, the stars, the seasons or anything else but the T.V. cycles of showing reruns, specials, celebrity roasts, and first-run movies. Evidence to support this theory: o The discussion of whether hacking is a valid term returns after its haitus at exactly the same time that the summer re-runs start. o The wombat discussion has also returned, though not with as much interest in the mango articles. (This is also true with summer re-runs in which the nielson ratings go down also from disinterest.) o We have already seen flames re: roadways that were such a dominant flaming subject last summer. Remeber the "it's my God-given right to go 20 mph in a 55 - it's my God-given right to run people going 20 mph in a 55 off the road" flames. Well, the cycle coincides with the Horse Crap issue of this year. (I am also going to try to find evidence that the Dukes of Hazard night slot is also the same night that all the Road articles are posted. My advice therefor to the readers of net.flame: UNSUBSCRIBE! Why you say, because of the simple fact that nothing will be new in this newsgroup 'til next September when the new line-up of flames come out.Walt Pesch AT&T Technologies ihnp4!ihuxp!wbpesch
