There are not very many women in engineering, this is true. It
does not seem however that there is a lack of intelligent women
in engineering.

Secretaries are not unintelligent people. That is a stereotype.
In some cases they may not be conversant about the same technical
information that an engineer might be. There is however more to 
intelligence. Than technical knowledge.
