   I believe it. One could search all his/her life and not find an SO
who is attractive AND intelligent AND understanding AND caring AND 
in the `right' social group AND ...  who  has  not   already  made
a    commitment.     So     what     next?     If   it   is  still
important to find an SO, one must make a choice, one must decide 
which one(s) of those characteristics is(are) more/most important.
    
   If it is attractiveness, for example, which wins over the others
(which seems to be the case most of the times), then one can not
complain that the other characteristics are not there since at best
you get what you asked for (usually). 
   
   If you figure out what is most important and concentrate on that,
you are more likely to find it.
