Some people here (especially !astrovax!ks in his review) have lamented
the fact that things that happened in ST-3 screw up the Startrek
Universe.  The problem is this:  Hollywood is not making the movie
for Trekkies.  They are making the movie to make a killing at the
box office.  Like every other movie is made.  BTW, why should the
Startrek Universe be immune to getting mucked up?  The real world
isn't.
