We made this over the weekend, mostly in a hurry, and it turned out astoundingly well. (In fact, VERY well!) 1 Frozen Pie crust, or one real one if you have the time 1 cup light cream three eggs 5 strips of bacon medium cheddar cheese swiss cheese 1/2 tsp white pepper 1/4 tsp nutmeg salt broccoli cauliflower 1 onion Puncture the crust with a fork all over the bottom of the pan. Cut enough small cubes (1/4" square) of each kind of cheese to just barely cover the bottom of the piepan. Leave in pan. Cut enough broccoli very small to cover pan bottom, leave there Cut enough cauliflower very small, ditto. Fry bacon to crisp, keeping grease in frying pan after bacon is drained. Saute diced onion until it's clear and limp in bacon grease, add cream, let cool until it won't cook egg, add eggs, stir well, making sure eggs are thoroughly distributed in the onion/cream. Add white pepper and nutmeg. Stir thoroughly. Add 1/2 tsp salt, more or less, and stir again. Crumble the bacon over the cauliflower, etc. Pour the liquid over the whole thing, leaving VERY little space for expansion.Bake at 375 until a knife comes out clean. After about 20 minutes sprinkle a bit of nutmeg on top. Total baking time will be on the order of 35-45 minutes, depending on cream, eggs, etc. Let cool a bit. Cut and enjoy. -- EVEN TEDDY BEARS HAVE SECURITY BLANKETS! "But I burn, Mr. A! So do I, Mr. J! John? Indeed! Who would have thought?" (allegra, harpo, ulysses)!rabbit!jj
