Large files should be posted to net.sources, and a short notice to net.micro and/or net.micro.cpm. If anyone on the ARPANET then requests access to the file, a single copy can be created on any ARPA-site and made available for FTP to the whole community. FTP = File Transfer Program P.S.: the same caveat may apply to other groups, like net.micro, etc. I hope, that the "List-of-Lists" and "Active News Groups" messages contain the information indicating which groups are gatewayed automatically and without moderator screening the messages.
