News Flash: It *can* be done. Having spent last weekend in Lake
Geneva, Wisconsin (okay, maestro, fire up the "Land of Sky Blue Waters"
music...thank you) with my ex-{posslq,fiancee,lover,confidant} of a few
years back, and having had a wonderful time, I think I may have figured out
a couple reasons this can work:

	1. You already *know* that an intimate, male-female, one-on-one,
(enough adjectives, you know what I mean) relationship between the two of
you didn't work. You're not under pressure to re-establish this, and so you
can relax.

	2. You know each other very well...perhaps better than anyone else.

	3. As the young lady discussed above put it: "There's no need, and
no reason, for us to hurt each other any more."

	4. It's a great feeling to be able to talk to, and be with, one another
after a period of separation.

One difficulty that does arise, though: if you have a current SO,
he/she can feel jealous/nervous/insecure over this; it seems to be important
to reassure them that you're not trying to restart your previous relationship.
