Yes, what was really funny was that KHOW in Denver used to do just that.
They put a tone on near the end to blink the cue light at the DJ.  When
they switched over to their new facility they must have picked up the
new ITC machines with the ELSA button on the record decks and everything.
Because just before the end of a song the music would drop out and the DJ
would make some comment about the tape taking off at breakneck speed.
