Grammar comprises spelling, >dork, which I can call you because this is net.flame--nyah, nyah! Yup, it is. However, not only does grammar fail to "comprise" spelling, grammar doesn't even include spelling. The two subjects are disjoint. Hark back to your last compiler project. Remember the difference between lexical and syntactic processing? Same thing for natural languages. I will grant you that some elementary school teachers do confuse the two subjects. But that is a poor excuse. As to the rest of this sentence (?), your mother was a hampster and your father smelled of gopher plant. >Also note the correct use of "comprise." Actually, I'm with you >on "connexion"--in fact, I was spelling it that way before you were >born--but I couldn't find "goin" in any of my stodgy, pretentious >reference tomes. Is that French or something? I will grant you one point for proof reading. You might have done better to look among the variations of Murcan "spoken" in the general area of the southern borders of the U. S.. These dialects are rather poorly documented. On the age question I will grant you another if you will describe to us your experiences on the day Pearl Harbor was bombed. It is more likely that I am old enough to have changed your diapers. The "connexion" was just smarting off, but fun. Chris P
