Remember that the Big E is twenty!! years old. Thats a long time for anything in a fast paced technology. In TWOK It was being used for Cadet training missions which is usually the last stop before the scrap yard. It was designed in a time when 400+ man crews spent years in space and now a five man crew can trans-warp to the end of the galaxy and still be back for the weekend. If it was not destroyed then it would have been scrapped. John Eaton !hplabs!hp-pcd!john
