Message-ID: <1164@qubix.UUCP> Date: Mon, 4-Jun-84 19:06:30 EDT Article-I.D.: qubix.1164 Posted: Mon Jun 4 19:06:30 1984 Date-Received: Thu, 7-Jun-84 19:26:07 EDT References: <867@cbneb.UUCP> <1007@nsc.UUCP> Organization: Qubix Graphic Systems, Saratoga, CA Lines: 32 I was at EPCOT twice within two months of its opening. Conclusion: It ISN'T the Magic Kingdom. Since you've put me in mind of it, I should think to post "Bickford's hemisemiofficial review of EPCOT [Supersedes "Bickford's hemidemisemiofficial review of EPCOT"]" FutureWorld: displays to bridge the communications gap between the techs and the rest. Fairly good - many of the exhibits are hands-on. Notice - if you should play Bit-By-Bit in the Bell (uh, AT&T) section, be warned that in October 82 the score was stored in 8 bits. I was more than a little indignant when my score went from 255 to 0. There are opportunities to "play," but I think those with a creative bent would enjoy it more. YE PUBLICK NOTICE (in case I don't post the full review): Don't waste your time on either "Kitchen Kabaret" or Eastern's "Astuter Computer Review." WorldShowcase: more in the way of entertainment - if Barnaby's side show is still there, see it! Whether the kids enjoy depends on whether they'd enjoy a sightseeing trip; kids can get bored fast. NOTICE 2: Take two days, preferably not on a weekend. Spend one day to see, another day to take pictures, once you know where you'd like to take them. You can borrow a disc camera there, but it suffers several defects: no time exposure, no telephoto (shooting across the lake is probably the best way for a building photo), and a flash whether you want it or not. -- The Ice Floe of Larry Bickford {decvax,ihnp4,allegra,ucbvax}!{decwrl,sun}!qubix!lab decwrl!qubix!lab@Berkeley.ARPA
