If he could dump to McCoy in a relatively short time, why does the reload of Spock from McCoy take so long (seems to last all night)? Sure, you could say that the bandwidth of going thru an intermediary is less, but it still seems unreasonable. And this quasi-religious ceremony for the whatever-it's-name-is that puts a Vulcan's soul into final rest. Positively medieval! This from a culture that values logic? As someone else pointed out, Nubile 'Temple virgins' (Drool), the gong ringer, etc. How spectacularly rational. A final question. How the **** can Sulu land a foreign craft? They couldn't even find the engine button, and it seems a lot easier to figure out which button will start the engines than to spontaneously generate a motor skill that usually takes a lot of practice to develop. And even if he can land Federation ships ("It's been a long time"), they seem qualitatively different than this Klingon/Romulan Bird of Prey. Enough nit-picking for now. This was just to fill in the gaps that others have failed to complain about. -- Clark The flames are getting higher, beam me up! (PS I enjoyed the movie, the above notwithstanding)
