My Cubbies having been ailing for starting pitching, especially with Ruthven and Sanderson out, and now Trout having hand problems. Getting a reliable starter was a must for the Cubs. Buckner, unfortunately, was expendable. He had a fabulous year in `83, and for a guy who has some leg problems, sure moves well and gives 100% all the time. Boston will get a lot of good baseball from Buckner. As much as I hated to see Billy Buck leave the Windy City, you`ve got to give up something to get somthing. Durham can handle 1B O.K. I`m more worried we may have given up too much in the deal with Cleveland. Time will tell. Tom O`Connor
