I suppose it's for the same reason that "The A Team" will probably last
ten seasons and "The Paper Chase" only lasted one.  For the same reason
that your average person instead of having a Dali on the wall, has a
Christine Brinkley.  For the same reason that the people who bring you
Harlequin Romance Novels (each with its very own identical plot) are
rolling in dough. And probably for the same reason that a person like
Ronald Reagan could ever be elected President.
