Why I consider FDR a traitor (in 25 words or less, well, um,....)

FDR is responsible for institutionalizing most of the entitlement programs,
e.g. welfare, social security, etc. He was of questionable moral character
and he went to congress at one point to ask to increase the number of Supreme
Court justices (so he could name the extra ones and put in a >50% FDR
Supreme Court)**.

He institutionalized bad banking by creating the federal reserve. In fact, he
was responsible for federalizing a large number of 'institutions' which were
formally free market - all as a demented reaction to the depression. Rather than
giving people what was best for them, he would ONLY do what was popular.

He worked toward the welfare state as an ideal,
which is clearly contrary to most of the ideals framed by the constitution.

He took us off the gold standard, allowing the government to inflate the
currency at will.

Therefore, a traitor. A traitor to the ideals of this county, as described by
the constitution, which was meant to LIMIT the powers of government. In a sense,
his 4 terms were a reverse magna carta to the citizens of this country, though
at the time, most didn't realize it: they were too preoccupied with the depression,
and the failings of the institutions of the time. So 'let the guv do it' became
the rule, and left us today with the consequences: a budget that is out of control,
people who would rather buy congressmen than face the results of their own
actions, etc. etc. It makes me sick.

/** Or something along these lines. I admit, my facts on this point are hazy, as
it's been a few years....
