Yom sheini leparshas beha-alosech, 4 SIVAN 5744, 48 days in the Omer.

Ephrayim Naiman writes :

  >Does anybody know where the following Midrash can be found ?

  >	"Any money spent 'lichvod shabbos' (to honor the sabbath),
  >one will get back."

The gamarrah in Be-ah 16., at the top, says :
"kol mezonosav shel adam kevutzim lo meirosh hashanah ve-ad yom hakipuim chutz
meihotzaos shabbasos vehotzaos banav letalmud torah ..."

The gemorrah continues with the story of shamai hazzaken who, when he found
some 'good' ma-achal, would set it aside for shabbos. Hillel hazzaken, on the
other hand, would eat it that day, saying, "baruch hashem yom yom".

A Gutten Yom-Tov.
