I think the Eckersly/Buckner trade can help both teams.
My Cubbies having been ailing for starting pitching,
especially with Ruthven and Sanderson out, and now Trout
having hand problems.  Getting a reliable starter was
a must for the Cubs.  Buckner, unfortunately, was expendable.
He had a fabulous year in `83, and for a guy who has
some leg problems, sure moves well and gives 100% all
the time.  Boston will get a lot of good baseball from
Buckner.  As much as I hated to see Billy Buck leave
the Windy City, you`ve got to give up something to
get somthing.  Durham can handle 1B O.K.  I`m more worried
we may have given up too much in the deal with Cleveland.
Time will tell.
