How do you get tickets for a concert that is far away from where you are at? The answer is : order by phone. I have had quite good luck with ordering tickets by phone. Many radio stations provide a concert line that gives information on upcoming concerts in the area. A good station will usually give information for concerts all across the state and in some neighboring states as well. Often this information is available before ticket sales have begun. The morning that tickets go on sale, call up Ticketron, (or whatever agency handles them.) If you are lucky, there might be an outlet in your city. There is usually a surcharge of 1-2 dollars per ticket (seems steep), but take into account that there are no waiting lines, you don't have to drive 60 miles to a ticket outlet, etc. You may well get better seats then by buying them locally, depending on how tickets are distributed, many places get a block of tickets to sell, and they aren't always good seats. To get good concert tickets: 1) keep your ears open for upcoming events. Calling concert lines, or buying Sunday papers from big cities (ie. Chicago or NY) 2) Order tickets the day they go on sale (or as soon as possible therafter). You will get the best seats available at that time. 3) tickets arrive in the mail within the week. PS. It is assumed that you have a visa, master charge, or some other major credit card Thomas Narten ... purdue!narten ... pur-ee!purdue!narten
