Yes, this movie CAN be classed as Science Fiction/Fantasy with
no problem for those of you who are wondering, and no, I don't intend
to define either to support my claim.

Micro-review:

This movie is GOOD. It's funny, well done, colorful and
exciting. Go see it.

** ** ** SPOILER WARNING ** ** ** (scene setting only -- no ending)

Review:

Once upon a time, in New York, in a University, there were three
PHDs (or semi-PHDs) researching (or semi-researching) paranormal
activities. This is the story of what happens when two events combine:
they actually come face to face (yes, literally) with said phononema,
and they lose their research grant and get kicked out of the University.
Now believers and out of work they decide to go into the business of
catching etherial critters for a living. Fortunately for (and
unbeknownst to) our heros, they have picked an ideal time to go into
this business, as the spirit world is getting ready for a really big
time and some V.I.S. big-wig named Zoog (Zool?). Sigany Weaver (sp?
also known as the heroine in "Alien) does a fine job as a strong,
sensible musician suddenly tangled in the world of spirits. One might
ask if she is becoming typecast in this kind of role, but one (me) might
not care too much since she does such a good job.

This is an extremely funny movie, the acting is great, the
script is great, the special effects are perfectly adequate (as opposed
to over-done) and if you accept some of the basic premises, the story
holds together nicely. I came out of this one smiling and chuckling,
which is a recomendation all by itself. This is a five-star movie.
