The way you phrased the quote seems to indicate that the Salvation
Army stated that a practising gay person's "beliefs" (vis-a-vis
homosexuality) are incompatible with their teachings.

No surprises there.  And no insult greater than those offered for 500 years
by most other Christian sects and Jewish communities of worship.  The
Salvation Army "apologize"?  Sure.  Right.  Uh-huh.
