Zehntel has a remarkably rational solution to the problem of smoking
vs. open offices/cubicles/what-ya-call-em.

Smoking is forbidden.

It is permitted in the cafeteria areas in both buildings during breaks
and lunch periods only, and not at the service counters. Outside is OK,
of course.

This does not apply to visitors and customers, but there aren't any
ashtrays!

In Engineering, where I work, only a handful of people smoke, and
they never smoked at their desks, even before this rule went into effect.
