In some old letters from my grandmother she refered to the C&A railroad
tracks. The location would be in Central Illinois near Mason City, Ill.
and San Jose, Ill. Her farm is between M.C. and S.J. Time period 30 to
50 years ago. The tracks in question ran generally north and south and
a little to the north-east.

Does anyone know which railroad this could be? Or if Grandma's memory
is a little foggy can you think of something close (except C&O). I know
that the GM&O ran through there. It seems it would be Chicago & something.
Was there a Chicago & Alton.

Post the answer. Thanks in advance.
