I drive a 1968 MGB-GT with overdrive, and have found that I get highway
mileage that varies from an all time high last summer of 31 (overdrive
on a flat highway at a steady 60 MPH) to an all-time low of 24 this
winter (on a hilly stretch of road, with a heavy load).  My city mileage
has varied from a low of 20 in Boston early last spring (when the car
was heavily loaded) to a high of 26 (little traffic, a warm engine, and
no extra baggage)...
