The New College Encyclopedia of Music:

"Viennese School, a general term for the composers active in Vienna
in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, notably Haydn, Mozart,
Beethoven, and Schubert. The so-called Second Viennese School grew
up in the present century with Schoenberg, Berg, and Webern as its
principle members."
