	I am always greatly encouraged
	that CS related work is not a male or female dominated work-field
	perhaps because it is still a fairly young profession. The
	more conferences and seminars etc I go to, the more the split
	is getting to be 50/50 men and women, well alright perhaps more
	like 60/40. Beware before making generalizations.

These are certainly not the same conferences I am going to!! I think the
ratio is more like 90/10 (and that's if you include the "pretty women" in
the booths)!!
The shame of it is, I agree that CS is too young a profession to be considered
"men's work" or "women's work". I guess the women got weeded out at a much
younger age when they were encouraged to drop mathematics and take english.
