programmers don't need to code in assembly language.


	C was created for systems programming without assembly language,
as most of us should know.  Extensions to the language with libraries,
etc., have made it a very good applications language.  A language that
can handle systems and applications is bound to invite the ravings of
bigots!
	Another part of this is the conception that C is "not for be-
ginners".  This is a good ego boost for C programmers, even if they
aren't systems programmers.  Thus, the scornful flames can be expected.
