I don't know about other countries, but in the U.S., reproduction of copyrighted material without payment of royalty is allowed only for very specific purposes (e.g. research), and only in limited quantities (usually a single, personal copy). This certainly does not include making copies for all of your friends because you think it's great stuff. Chip p.s.
