Many cars have flashers designed for a three lamp load ie one in the front and two in the back. Thus designed they will not flash when one of the bulbs blows out giving the driver the idea that something is wrong so he will have it repaired. You may have noticed cars pulling trailers which have these type of flashers.....they flash at an incredibly high rate due to the extra loading of bulbs from the trailer. When trailering the standard flasher is generally replaced with a "heavy duty" type which has no dependance on load. Now the problem is you have no indication of a bulb failure unless you are in the habit of checking. Personally I think the load dependant type are better. Keith Bauer White Tiger Racing
