You probably should indeed have bought a JCPenney lifetime battery.  I grant
that mine is only ~4 years old (thus I haven't really verified the "lifetime"
provision), but still...it has never failed to provide enough juice to get my
car started, even when the temperature was in the neighborhood of -15 F.  It
cost about $80, but I think it was worth it.
