Thanks to all who took the time to respond to my inquiry about wide-angle
lenses.  The general consensus was that a 35mm lens isn't all that different
from a 50, and that a 24mm is very tricky to use.  One person said he had
a problem with his lens hood showing up around the edges when he used his
24.  He couldn't find a hood big enough to get out of the way!  All agreed
that a 28mm lens is the "standard" wide-angle, and is the one I should
consider, unless I want some special effects (such as fish-eye, etc.).  So,
I thank you all, and I'm going to go out and get a 28mm before I head West
on vacation.
