Harry Chapin (the writer & singer) wrote that popular song which beautifully tells the sad relationship of a father whose vague personal and family goals were over powered by clear business goals. Harry Chapin was an entertainer. He traveled much and did not spend many days or nights at home. He wrote the song when one day his wife told him, "Harry, your losing your children." Harry Chaplin died in July 1980 in a car accident on the Long Island Expressway. Both Harry and his children lost! Ernie Arias AT&T ISL Lincroft, NJ {ihnp4!}hogpc!ea
