As a Canadian, I disagree strongly with the person (from Newfoundland?)
who claimed Canadians are not Americans and shouldn't be labelled as such.
In postings to this and other groups, I have tried to find a word to
label Americans who live in the United States. There doesn't seem to be
a good word for these people, so I have sometimes used USAmericans
(I think Laura Creighton invented it, but I can't be sure). Perhaps
if we stopped using the ambiguous Americans == N. Americans (which
is too exclusive anyway) and Americans == USAmericans, then some
Canadians would stop getting worried when people include Canadians
among the citizens of the Americas.

Canadians are Americans, too!
