The damage notation for various monsters is like this:
The "d" stands for dice, and the number after it is how many faces
are on the die.
The number preceeding it is how many times the die is rolled (or the 
number rolled on the dice multiplied x number of times).
Monsters with multiple attacks will have two or three sets of dice rolls
and will be in the notation xdn/xdn/xdn where x=the number of times the
dice is rolled and n=the # of die faces.
Each time you fight a multiple hit monster, each roll is taken into account
and added up, therefore seems to be only one hit.
