If you've been thinking of upgrading your S100 system to a 68000 processor,
or of putting together a 68000 system, you may want to wait a little longer.
I just got the preliminary specifications for SD Systems new 68000 board. It
boasts:

    o 8 MHz 68000
o 68451 MMU (Memory managment unit)
    o Completely IEEE 696 compatible
o Two RS232 serial ports (8530 SCC, Async, Bisync and SDLC modes,
      independent baud rate generators)
    o 20-bis parallel IO (8536 CIO)
    o 3 16-bit counter/timers
    o 32 Kbytes ROM (two 2732's, 2764's or 27128's)
o Some of the bits on the parallel IO chip can be used as a vectoed
      interrupt controller.

This sounds like a real slick and well thought out board. They're beta
testing it right now, but I don't know when it will become publically
available or how much it will cost.

Speaking of SD Systems, is anybody using their VFW-III floppy/winchester
controller board? I've been eyeing it, and I'd like to hear from somebody
actully using it.
