You're almost right when you say that Blatz beer is still being made.

There is a beer called "Blatz Beer". Unfortunately, the Blatz Brewing Co. of
Milwaukee was bought out years ago by (who else?) G. Heileman's of LaCrosse,
Wis. and the beer that they put into the Blatz can is (to my taste buds)
indistinguishable from Old Style.

It's kind of frightening how many tiny breweries have been "eradicated" by
Heileman's. For that reason, and also because they brew that typically
tasteless American beer, I've boycotted all their products, and now drink
either microbrewery beer (Boulder, Anchor, River City, Yuengling, etc.),
foreign beer (our local Irish pub just got Guinness on tap!), or homebrew.
