Message-ID: <1943@ihnss.UUCP> Date: Sat, 3-Mar-84 23:48:53 EST Article-I.D.: ihnss.1943 Posted: Sat Mar 3 23:48:53 1984 Date-Received: Mon, 5-Mar-84 00:31:12 EST Organization: AT&T Bell Labs, Naperville, IL Lines: 21 In response to my posting of last week (on drastic Vectrex price reductions), a hardcore Vekkie called me up with the sad news that GCE has in fact pulled out of the Vectrex business. Remaining stock of hardware and program carts has been sold to a mail-order outfit in CA whose name I forget, but you probably got a mail flyer from them after you bought your vectrex. They have an 800 number that I will post when I get back to work. Their prices are not quite as low as toys-r-us, but still snap-em-up-while-they-last level. I am saddended that Vectrex didn'T live to market the computer keyboard with RAM and BASIC ROM that was promised. If we could only get into that system..... mike k PS: I managed to find the 3D goggle helmet. I had absolutely no trouble perceiving the depth and focussing the images. Do NOT hesitate to buy this, if you can find at least one game for it (3D Narrow Escape recommended). The outstanding effect of this Rube-Goldberg elegant contraption will make it a collector's item for sure.
