If a moderator distributes mail, and maybe zaps the few wild flames,
it is possible to have what net.women.only originally tried to be:
Submissions by women only, but readable by anyone interested.

Is there really objection to letting men READ net.women.only, or
the net-mail version? This would cut down the problem of determining
the sex of a mail address. After all, if you can't determine a mail
(excuse me, Male) by his offensive, insensitive comments, what's
the difference?

Pardon the intrusion; I normally just read.
