I thought that the phenomenon of the calling party locking up the called
party even after hang-up was limited to step-by-step switching machines.
Is this wrong, or have the manufacturers of autodialing machines developed
some new method of abuse?

This probably should also have been directed to fa.telecom, but I don't
know how to get there from here!
