One of the most incredible interviews in the history of television
occurred on March 1. Johnny Carson tried to have a candid discussion
with Cindy Lauper. In between her songs "Girls Just Want To Have Fun"
and "Time after Time" (fortunately, she performed with her band, and
not with the NBC Orchestra), Cindy told Carson all about "politeness,
etiquette and grooming" as it relates to pro wrestling. She mentioned
that she will go shopping at Goodwill, and that she was all set for
her tour stop in Hawaii because she "already bought a hula skirt and
a muu-muu."
