Lines: 52 --- smoke Good lord man, and you call yourself a Canadian. No wonder some of us are quick to make the distinction between Americans and Canadians. You, a Canadian, don't even know the your own country. Don't you think it is about time you aquainted yourself with the educational institutions of your country? Granted, you may have little or no use for such information, but lets try and expand our informational scope. THE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION THAT YOU THINK IS IN Nfld. IS IN FACT, HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA. Nova Scotia? You know, due east. Little province, just walk passed Quebec until you hit the Atlantic Ocean. Atlantic Ocean? Large, wet thing ... Never mind. flicker Now back to the original argument. Most Canadians are apathetic. All Canadians know this and couldn't care less. Contrary to the opinion of the U S, every- thing that affects the U S does not affect Canada or any other North American country. Therefore, equating all residents of North America (Lets keep South America out of this, I don't think it is as strong an argument.) to that of American is a bit ambiguous. Right now, as I type and you read, Canada and the U S are at odds on several issues. (Acid rain, fish quotas, potato quotas, natural gas, etc.) We are two different countries, with two different identities. Let's keep it that way. I like to be called Canadian. I would be happy to call Americans what ever they like. But, I still take exception to being considered a subgroup of America. And lets face it, to bring up the point that Canada is a country in the Americas is a deviation from the argument. FIRE! J Gerard Olszowiec Call me crazy, call me mad, but don't call me American.
