My grandmother developed diabetes later in life and I am just wondering if the same is in store for her children and grandchildren. So far, no one else in my family has developed any of the symptoms. It seems as though my grandmother's has gotten worse as she gets older. She had to take pills at first, now she is injecting herself twice a day. Would a certain diet help to cut down on the dose? I haven't asked her about her diet, but it seems pretty normal, normal meaning I see her eat everything anyone else would eat. I guess this is the diabetes that is referred to as "latent" or "adult" diabetes. I have seen a few different explanations as to whether it is hereditary or not. Anyone know for sure? Thanks in advance to anyone that can post a diet that they as a diabetic or someone they know has to follow. Also, was the diet prescribed by a doctor or picked up in some publication, etc? Also your specific reasons for following it. Thanks very much. Marie Carey
