This was on National Public Radio just now:

	Telemail, a kind of private, electronic US Snail with government
	and private clients, suffered a series of break-ins recently.
	In the aftermath, it became apparent that (i) many accounts had one
	letter passwords, even letters near the beginning of the alphabet
	like "a" or "b,"  and (ii) known compromised passwords were still
	used for several months after they were "blown."
