Illinois demonstrated final-four potential with brilliant performances by Bruce Douglas and Efrem Winters...did you see that jam-in rebound with about 2 minutes to go? (How the hell did Winters get up there?) Altenberger played with a great deal of intensity as well; had a great tip-pass while falling on his face for a quick two at the other end. With two games to go, this leaves Purdue and Illinois tied for the lead of the Big Ten; Illinois has a better overall record, and both Boiler games are on the road; on the other hand, Purdue plays Wisconsin and Minnesota. One can only hope that the NCAA selection committee will recognize lack of class when they see it and snub Knight by not inviting IU to the tourney; after the way he treated his players Saturday, I'm surprised they tolerate him. -- "Oh dear...I believe you'll find that reality is on the blink again."
