Last week I called Apple about the availability of MacPascal and MacBasic
and was told that they will be some time off ("around third quarter"). I also
asked about the rumored C compiler and got two comments - "around
Summer" and "we can't comment on the release date of a third party until the
product is released." Rumors are that MicroSoft will do the C compiler -
pretty logical as they have Mac experience and a 68000 C compiler for their
Xenix. Does anyone have anything more solid on this?

More things to wonder about -- What is the status of the DS Sony drive for the
Mac? It is now clear that a special version is required and it is also clear
that Sony is selling many more drives than they can produce. Is it worth it
to go with the external SS Mac drive now (it would be essential for any
serious playing around), or to hold out for a DS drive?
