While new car prices seem to be getting out of sight, there is a seldom
considered alternative. Last August I bought a restored 1965 Pontiac GTO
convertible for about $5,000.00..
I currently have about $5,500.00 into it including my tri-power unit
and mag wheels. A car with comparable performance is in the $15K-$20K.
While my "rocket powered brick" sucks up gas, I can drive about 120,000 miles
on $10K worth of gas ($1.00 per gallon).
Looking under the hood, the car is very serviceable.
I also have the pleasure of driving a classic car, that is appreciating in
value (not to mention the heads turned at my pride and joy).
