He tells me the following: Former Texas Governor Jim Hogg had three children: Two sons (Mike and Will) and one daughter (Ima). Ima's name was taken from a poem that Hogg was particularly fond of. Ima herself was an important benefactor of the University of Texas, and a grand lady. There was no (REPEAT, NO) daughter named Ura. Frantz tells me that this was a rumor started by the Governor's political enemies, but as he remarks, once a rumor is started, it never dies out. And now, in keeping with the traditions of this newsgroup, here is a true story from Professor Frantz's book, *The Forty Acre Follies*, a history of the University of Texas (just published and good fun): "I must admit to an affection for the statue of James Stephen Hogg, because I admire the man enormously. Besides, in the days before scatology became a way of life, every so often some student would sneak up in the night and hang a pickle around Hogg's middle. Students, especially coeds, would pass by the next morning, see that pickle hanging strategically, look without seeming to look, and snicker all the way to the statue of Jefferson Davis, who never attended the University of Texas or did anything for the state except try to wreck it. No one hangs pickles anymore because everyone has seen everything."
