Oh, come on now!!  SSotGR is clearly recognizable as a parody of the old
space opera genre, most notably E.E. "Doc" Smith's Skylark and Lensmen
series.  The poor boy genius from the backwoods, and the rich cheese
heir (the cheese absorbs water from the air, so if you don't eat it fast
enough, you end up with more cheese than you started out with),
converting the football team's 747 for interplanetary, and later
interstellar flight......

	. . . . As such, I found it to be about the

I heartily concur. But you *do* have to read a lot of the right SF to
