WRONG!!  The net has a much larger audience than those directly connected to
it.  Many  people  are  not  able to use the "notes" program. Those of us on
DEC's  engineering  network  (~1300  nodes)  access the USENET via a gateway
which  picks up the postings and mails them to the DEC subscribers using the
VMS MAIL utility. If the original note is not included, we have NO idea what
the  response is responding to. Please KEEP including basenotes so that this
net is useful to the maximum number of people.
