My first impression is that you might be running a "V1.0" Commodore 64. Seems that the early 64's have problem with some of the software that has been appearing, like Simon's Basic. A similar situation may be happening with your Speedscript. Perhaps there are other thoughts on the subject from the net. My only problem with Speedscript has been the RIGHT MARGIN command. Seems to lock up my computer. I think I traced it to be an esc sequence that normally "shuts down" the Epson printer. Other than that, no complaints. Look for a question and answer session with the Speedscript author in the May issue of Compute's Gazette magazine.
