Concerning a JC Penney lifetime warranty on a car battery:

A lot of good that warranty would have done you since the Penney's
auto centers have gone out of business. It would be interesting to
see what Penneys will do with any of these battery warranties.

According to a JC Penney executive (my son's godfather), JC Penney
will continue to honor ANY warranties granted before discontinuing
a product line (tires, batteries, computers, etc). If you have a problem,
try and take your battery with warrenty to the Penney's where you
bought it (not necessary, but saves time), and they will send you to
a Firestone dealer to replace it!
