Seems to me,

Simply stated: "Computers do not scale in performance/dollar"

That is you can buy a C64 for <$200, but for $2000 you cannot buy
a single machine that will support 10 users.

I'm not sure why this is, but you cannot pick up a full sized
aircraft by one of its appendages either, but you can do so with a model.

Any experts out there who can comment on this one?
