Well, the results of the Grammy awards are out, and the winners
are an interesting reflection on the American Scene. Culture
Club and Michael Jackson hauled in a million dollars worth of
publicity. What does this collection of shining 'talent' add
up to? Boy George, the 'prize in the cornflakes box' tries his
best to look like a girl. But he doesn't sound like one. Michael
Jackson, on the other hand, doesn't look like a girl (actually
he looks like your typical Brooklyn greaser) but he does his best
to sound like one. The popular press has reported that MJ
doesn't get involved in the usual recreational drug scene.
He does, however, keep hopped up on estrogen to keep his voice
from changing. What does it all prove? 'Nobody ever went broke
underestimating the intelligence of the American public.' Also,
lots of people will do just about anything for money.
