Since these magazines seem to be included in the game as a kind of trick to make it nearly impossible to get a perfect score, I hesitate to reveal the exact technique for using the magazines. I will say that they cannot be read, and it is of no avail to throw them at or give them to any of the denizens of the dungeon. The magazines can be used to prove you've been in "the more harrowing sections" of the cave if you should happen to bring them to such a place.
