There is a bug which causes the first several lines of an article
body to vanish, leaving the article unintelligible and generally
useless. This bug appeared in version 2.10.1 of B news, as far as I
can tell, and it only affects articles whose bodies begin with an
indented line, like this one. Some unfortunate site along the path

	sdchema!sdcsvax!dcdwest!ittvax!decvax!ucbvax

is removing the first several lines of article bodies.

This article represents an attempt to force the bug to occur. If it
indeed arrives mangled in Southern California, I will send mail to
administrators at the intervening sites asking them what shape the
article is in at their sites, and with any luck this will help pin
the problem down. Of course, this article COULD arrive entirely intact,
which alas proves nothing, since the bug can be capricious.

Sigh,
