Can I ask a question? (...Of course I can, since until I
leave this editor I'm just talking to myself.)

Does anyone one think that the Rev. Jackson might be a bit
Racist? (Please don't flame at me! I'm not saying he is, I'm just
asking.) When I came to Chicago 14 months ago, I was surprised to
find that Rev. Jackson was not as big as a hero here as I thought he
would be. Not that he isn't popular, but he doesn't seem to have
the undivided support (even with Blacks) that I expected he would.

And now with his previous statements that he wished the Jews
would quite talking about the Holocaust and recent "candid"
statements (which it appears he made to a Black reporter, assuming
that the reporter agreed with his "sentiments" and would not quote
him.) it might appear that Rev. Jackson is not as open minded as a
"candidate for all the people" and a "man of the cloth" should be.

Not that any of us are perfect, mind you, but what I think
bothers me the most, is that he assumed that he could make gross
generalizations putting down a race other than his to a member of
his race, and that that person would, of course, agree. (Makes me
wonder, anyway.)
