Does anyone know a way to implement true file lockout
from F77 ( 5.0 USG)? We need a way to prevent concurrent
updates from F77 programs that may have 30-40 users running
it at any time. INQUIRE, of course, only is relevant to one
particular process (program). We would rather avoid the use
of lockout files, since this will be for a production system
and cleaning up lockout files could be a mess in case of a
system crash. Has anyone developed semaphore routines to
accomplish lockout? We would have no problem adding code
to our programs, if necessary. Thanks in advance.
