Another bit of dealer prep which applies at least to Volvo
is the removal of a thick coating of a kind of grease which
covers at least all of the unupholstered metal in the interior,
and might also be on the exterior.  I presume this is to
prevent rust during shipping.  I found out about it because
the dealer had forgotten to finish it and left some of this
junk in the "hidden" compartment in the back deck area
(I have an 83 wagon).
