This recipe is from 'America's Best'. Profits from
the book go to the US Ski Team. It is an excellent cookbook.

Trail Bars Makes 20 bars

1 large egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup (packed) brown sugar
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 cup butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
2/3 cup rolled oats
3 cups granola cereal with raisins and dates
1 can (14 oz) condensed milk
---------
	Preheat oven to 350.
Combine the egg, vanilla, brown sugar, syrup, and
butter in a large bowl and beat with a wooden spoon until
creamy.[I used an electric mixer and don't think the recipe
suffered any.] Stir in remaining ingredients and mix well.
Spread the batter in an ungreased 11x17" jelly roll
pan. Bake for 30 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
