During my younger days I had many cars. All of those cars went through
many batteries (I live in Chicago). All of those batteries were Sears'
type. I guess I too sort of fell into the warantee rut! On the whole,
Sears does NOT make a good battery!! 
 When I worked in a gas station in the late sixties, more people
brought in Die-Hards in for charging than any other (about 4 to 1).
In the last 2 new vehicles I've purchased came AC-Delco batteries. Each
of which has lasted at least 5 years. From now on it's AC-Delco for
me!
