I had occasion to be hungry while shopping in the
Jackson Height area last weekend. If you are one
for inexpensive Indian food, I would recommend:

Jackson Diner, on the corner of 37th Ave and 74th St.
in Queens. The customer has a choice of ordering
spicy, medium or bland versions of the same curries.
 A vegitarian lunch consisting of:
              1) A large Paratha ( fresh rolled fried bread )
              2) A choice of 1 of 4 curries and
              3) Raita ( cucumber and other vegitables in
                         liquified yogurt )
was only $2.50. I was very pleasantly surprised. The quality
of food is well worth the money. The place is strictly what it
says it is : A diner.

WARNING: If you choose spicy - you'd better be used to it.
At the diner Spicy means SPICY. I had it that way
          and loved it !!!
