x <-- bugs hate this, or so I hear . . .

On our system, net.micro exists as a directory
( /usr/spool/news/net/micro ) which contains subdirectories for each
of the subgroups, and files for each of the articles. Our latest
net.micro article is # 1787, so there are a few hundred files (recent
messages) with numbers from about 1450 to 1787, and directories (16k,
432, 6809, 68k, etc.) for the subgroups. What will happen (in a couple
of years) when there is an article #6809? I hope this is not a dumb
question.
