I gather my reply to the above referenced article was truncated.
Here it is again.  As you can see it started with the infamous
blank or tab.  I though enough sites had fixed the bug that
it wasn't a problem any more.

	initial series of commands into some kind of script and execute
	it automatically....

Try saving a game after you get into the cave.  Then you can always
restart from there.
