My wife tried to get a sears credit card in her name but was rejected. A friend of hers worked in the sears credit department and recommended that she NOT list her 2 children (they are not her financial responsibility as far as credit applications go) and she NOT list the mortgage or any other joint bills we share. It seems that when they compare HER bills with HER income, they can't justify extending her any credit (when she reports only her income and all of OUR bills)
