I applied and was rejected for *you-guessed-it* lack of a long enough credit history. I protested with the famous chicken-and-egg response, "Well somebody has to be the first to give me credit, why not you!" The credit person said that didn't matter, but I could probably get one if I had a college degree or a longer work history. I said I had a college degree, but there was no spot on the application to put such information. She then replied, "Oh well we have a different form you can fill out, etc., etc." and "Why didn't you list it as a previous job-most people do, etc." A couple weeks later I got the card in the mail. I posted this as WARNING to the numerous college-student type individuals on the net who will doubtless endure the same treatment. Be prepared to get a rejection, but don't just take it at face value. Mark Kohls ihnp4!ihuxw!thor
