Back in the Peace Corps, I met a man who was half Fijian and half
Chinese, the father of one of my students. His name was Wing Ting.
(Also, the outhouse was on stilts, situated about 80 feet over a small
stream 'way up in the mountains whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiish, plop!)
I also met no less than three girls nicknamed "Candy" whose
last names were Cane, Kane, and Kain.
Also in Fiji, in our school of 600 students, two boys shared
the same name, Samuela Waituruturu, which, when translated, means
"Sam DrippingWater" (it rains a *lot* in Fiji).
