HELP!

Does anyone have a way to determine the amount (in characters) of
terminal (standard) input and output a process generates (Yes, I KNOW
I can put it in my programs). We need to get this information after
the process is complete. We are looking into it for use in a
production system billing and accounting package.

I do believe that I can access TOTAL I/O, but this includes
reads and writes to disk, which I don't want.

We are using UNIX USG 5.0.5 on a VAX 11/780 (and 3B20). We
really need this information ASAP.
