I use vi with a terminal emulator on my P.C. to compose messages, and
occasionally I load the keyboard buffer with bad vi commands. So, vi
will beep me for each bad command in my keyboard buffer.

For this reason, I would like to change the loud, obnoxious BEEP that the PC
issues to a less obnoxious CLICK.

Any help?
