As I learned it (and without digging into boxes of books to find a Latin
dictionary), the mnemonic was PPAIN, for
	Poeta		- poet
	Perfuga		- fugitive
	Agricola	- farmer
	Incola		- inhabitant
	Nauta		- sailor
Of course, I last heard that in 1954, so accuracy may have decayed.
