In attempting to figure out "inews", I tried to post an item to a local
group with a text "test".

...and got a message roughly of the following sort:

	inews:Surely you don't want to post THAT!.

The structure of the message implies a value judgement on the content
rather than a comment on my use of the command.  After several tries and
suitable frustration, a local mavin discovered that it was the length of
the message that was the source of the objection.  Apparently -- and
undocumentedly -- inews rejects any message under 6 characters long.

I have heard that "UNIX is a system widely praised by large numbers
of people who have never used it."

Damn sure!
