I heard of a study done on couples, married or not, which charted
the similarities between the people. Many parameters were examined
like inteligence by standard measurement, career success, wealth etc.
Apparently the outstanding similarity above all other possible
fields of commonality was that couples were almost always closely
matched in their physical attractiveness, regardless of their other
traits. And this wasn't just saying Tom Sellacks rarely date Golda Meiers (sp?)
or that I aught to have given her a call but that over a broad spectrum of
attractiveness we seem to either home in on, or get corralled with a narrow
band of possible partners.
I don't even know what study this was, or the criteria of
"attractiveness" they used to define the range. I'm really interested
in your opinions on this. Likely? Balderdash? Ironclad? Society To Blame?
Communist plot to kill us off by in-breeding?
Let's have any contradictory evidence too, like:
"That's all trash! My spouse of three years is so ugly he/she could stand
on a parade route and make'em take a side street, but he's/she's Clarke
Gable/Bernadette Peters to me!"
What do you think CAMPERS? Have we got an issue?
