What happens if I am driving 60 to pass someone doing 55. I am half way through passing him and someone come behind me and tailgates. I am in the left lane for a very legitimate reason. Do I abandon my real need to pass the person on the right just so the tailgater can continue at 75? Do I speed up to 75 so the tail- gater can continue? Or do I conclude that the tailgater is infringing on MY rights and acting irresponsivly and dangerously. The other type of tailgating procedure that you did not take into account is on a two lane road where I am doing the speed limit and the tailgater comes along. I am NOT going to pull over to the shoulder just to give him his "right" to break the law. There is NO justification for tailgating. It is dangerous and annoying. OZ seismo!rlgvax!oz
