The three parks in the Canadian Rockies are Banff, Jasper
and Yoho. There are other parks near-by. Banff is the more
built up and touristy. Jasper is down-right beautiful.
I just spent three nights in Chateau Lake Louise, an old
Canadian Pacific Resort. It was the week before the season
started, so it was $50/night (canadian, so ~~ $40 US$) and
had a wonderful time. Food in Banff is excellent, and was
very inexpensive. There were actually restaurants there that
had LOWERED their prices, and combined with the exchange rate,
were a great deal. Lots of places to hike to, especially
near Lake Louise and up towards Jasper. Columbia icefields
is interesting. If you have never hiked across a glacier...
