I have just purchased a '77 GMC G20 Van that my wife and I will be driving
for our vacation this summer from Washington (state) to Wisconsin and back
again. The van does not have cruise control, but I'd guess that it would
be a very welcome addition for our 4000+ mile trip.

Question:

Has anyone had any experience with the installation and/or use of one
of the `add-on' type of cruise controls that most "automotive" stores
offer? Would I run into any surprises in trying to install one in this
van? (van has 350 c.i.d. V-8 with quadra-jet (GM tm) carb. and auto
    tranny)

We're leaving on July 26, so reply soon, (by mail) please!

P.S. I will summarize any and all responses to the net since I have never
seen this topic discussed here before (Gee, there actually might be
something to discuss in this newsgroup besides air-bags (wind-?) and
     radar-defectors (oops, detectors))
