Peter Gabriel, our intrepid hero, staged a festival called the World of Music
and Dance (WOMAD) last summer in England. It brought together many cultures,
esp. African ones, to play music with interesting and unconventional rhythms.
Many of the artists submitted tracks to a double LP benefit album for the
festival, which did not, as you might expect, make a lot of money. A subset
of those tracks appeared on a single LP version. Still, PG was in debt over
it.
But, surprisingly, the current Genesis offered to play a benefit concert
with Gabriel to help pay off the debts; it happened last fall in England.
Has anyone seen an official album that records this reunion? I've seen a
bootleg (which is particularly cruel as none of one's purchase price would
go to WOMAD) but nothing on a "real" record label. I'll post info received.

BTW, both Marillion and PG are touring. PG is in Toronto July 18th.
