I firmly believe that all shell scripts should set their own $PATH
before running any commands.  We have almost as many $PATHs here
as we have users, and some folks have programs in their $PATHs
that have the same name as system utilities (yes, we know that
sounds stupid, but there are good and sufficient reasons for it).
