(What is freedom?) There are more important things that government should spend its time on. If I don't use a seatbelt, I impose no danger to you, whereas if my brakes, steering, etc is unsafe, I do. Let's see some laws getting irresponsible drivers (e.g. those without insurance, unsafe vehicles) off the road instead. Smoking seems to be one of those borderline cases, but I don't buy the arguments for forcing use of seatbelts. Didn't we learn anything from prohibition?
