A personal observation (from a friend of an "aggresive guy"):

This fellow tells me that "it's all in the eyes.  Women are willing to ignore
what you say or do as long as you look aggressive."  His theory is that 
women want to feel wanted, and if you can project that feeling when you look
at a woman, it's one huge step toward success.

Additionally, if you have "that look," it gives the woman confidence since,
if she's of a like mind, she has some assurance that she won't be rejected.

This person (as a curious note) is always very polite to everyone, but is
expecially chivalrous towards females (and I've known women who got annoyed
at him for it, too!).  Whether this has anything to do with his success is
debatable, but women still describe him as "aggressive."

Now that I think about it, this works both ways.  I have seen many women with
"aggressive eyes," and society generally frowns on aggressive women. Hmmmmm...
