Andy, I would answer by mail, but mail out of here is crummy.  Also, I'm 
interested in the response of the rest of net.singles.

I did NOT say maturity had anything much to do with biological age.  I DID
say girls of bio-age X are more mature than boys of bio-age X.  But you are
very right about the subjectivity of maturity. I SHOULD have said,  "When
I was going through high school, I perceived the boys of a given biological
age to be less mature than the girls of that age."  Except during eighth
grade, when the boys were normal and the girls went crazy.  Now for the 
question for all of you:  When *you* were going through high school, what
were *your* perceptions on the subject.  We shall take it as given that
your perceptions are highly subjective and that you may now think of them
as wrong.  But back then, what did you think?  I'd be particularly interested
if the girls thought girls were more mature and the boys thought boys were;
maybe it's just a matter of crossed signals.
