KRULL: A Formula Film

Well, the era of formula FantasySF movies is upon us in the same manner
as the Western movie was years ago.

The basic ingrediants for a FantasySF film seem to be:

1. Quest (in this case destruction of the Beast & rescue of princess)
2. Magic weapon (five pointed star like thing, forgot its name)
3. Magic Users (we had SEERers, Old Men and Widow's of the WEB)
4. Evil Fortress (The mountain where the Beast lives)
5. Singularly Evil Creature with Fantastic Powers But Rarely Seen To Use Them
   (The Beast)
6. Continuous running of "inspirational" music (usually loud french horns etc.)
to signify high points of the Quest.
7. Death of the Majority of Good Quest Participants (but not major characters)
8. SUCCESS!

Sorry KRULL but:

Formula made movies = Formula art = Formula for Failure -> KRULL ::= Failure

Give Krull a 1 out of 10 (the Italian Alp cinematography was nice).
