In the episode 'The First Federation' when the Enterprise is captured
by the 'Phasarious' (sp ?) Mr. Spock looks up from his console and
says (astonished) that the ship must be more than one mile in diameter.
Cut to a exterior shot showing a huge vessel hovering over the Enterprise.
But, if I remember correctly the Enterprise is supposed to be around 1km
in length (this from one of those Enterprise posters a friend of mine
had on his wall once). That would make it six tenths of a mile long.
No vessel a mile in diameter would be that much bigger. They must have
meant 10 or 20 miles. Or, maybe the special effects guys didn't read
the script before shoting the scene. Does anyone know if this is corrected
in the book version? Any explainations?
