Western Peripherals (Wespercorp) is producing a Unibus tridensity
(to 6250bpi) tape controller, the TD3 (which succeeds the TS6251). It is
cheap (~$2000) and TS-11 compatible.
STC has a new 6250bpi 50ips tape drive which is also cheap, ~$8000.

Has anyone used either of the above (or any other Wesper controller)?
This combination sounds like a cheap way of getting a 6250bpi tape drive on
a VAX or PDP-11. Any comments on Unibus bandwidth considerations ? 6250bpi
at 50ips should be okay.
