If it's the sign I remember its always (at least since the early '70's)
had that picture of Uncle Sam, and although the details of the message
change, the spirit does not.

Apparantly some very conservative farmer owns that land, and funds the
billboard out of his own pocket.  (That's hearsay, but given the nature
of politics in that neck of the woods, not an unreasonable explanation.)

I vaguely remember some anti-UN sentiment appearing there, and assuming
my memory is to be trusted, it isn't Government propaganda.

As we on the net are clearly advocates of free speech (typing?)...
