A friend is flying to Calgary, Alberta and traveling from there to
either Waterton/Glacier or Banff to meet up with a group of
friends bicycling through Western North America. Once she has
joined them, she will bicycle along with them but may not have
enough time to bicycle from Calgary to the meeting place. I would
appreciate hearing about public transportation in these areas although
that information is available from the usual commercial sources.
Big question is what about hitch-hiking? Are rides easily found?
For someone with a bicycle and some gear? Is it unusual for a
woman to be hitching alone? Would you consider it safe?

All information will be appreciated, including tips and bicycling
stories from Banff, Jasper, Yoho, etc. Thanks.
