You are correct to a point!

Respect can be TAUGHT to our kids for a period
of time.  However, if the example of respect
ot others is not followed thru by the parents,
the kids _w_i_l_l disregard anything that
some parents teach hypocritically. 

Anytime there is no respect by the parents to
others, there's a good chance that the kids of
these parents end up also lacking that same
respect to others.  Therefore, this respect
being discussed here can be taught to a point.
The example of the parents is equally important!
