I've used both rather extensively -- for my taste I much prefer SuperCalc
which has a stronger "KISS" flavor, and seems to better fit my mental model
of what a spreadsheet is and how it should react.

MultiPlan is more complex, and may be more suited to a "pro" acctg type,
but for me it seems overly busy and its mechanics hard to retain.

For example, since I am a "science" type, calling a cell "A1" seems infinitely 
more reasonable (given exposure to matrix notation) than "R3C4" of MultiPlan.
