Lines: 23 Harpsichord Wanted I am looking for both European and American harpsichord makers who are willing to sell their instruments privately rather than through music stores. Any names and addresses would be appreciated. I am also aware of the harpsichord "kits" which are available, however, I have been rather unimpressed with them in the past. Many of the kits, from what I have seen and listened to, use poorer quality of wood and don't seem to have as nice of a tone quality. I also question the abilities of an amateur-- assembling and adjusting the instrument properly is rather critical to say the least. Previous to working at BTL I free- lanced as a professional cellist for 5 years. I can therefore distinquish a good instrument in terms of tone quality, sound and construction, however, I am not an expert on harpsichords. Any comments, referrals, advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Janine Roth ihldt!janine
