It's time once again to point out to the newcomers to the net
(apparently including cbosgd!mark, who used to be an old-timer) that
newsgroup "net.lang" is meant as a medium for discussions of COMPUTER
languages. HUMAN languages are discussed in "net.nlang" (for Natural
LANGuage).

The VALSPEAK project notwithstanding, VALSPEAK is still classified as a
human language.

J. Howard Christ only knows how a discussion of "respect for strangers"
came to rest here. floyd!trb, of course, is exempt from these
criticisms, since anything submitted by an AI project must perforce be
written in a computer language.
