Normally you can narrow down the possibilities for the first few letters of a
word to a few choices. Once you get the first few letters, scan that area of
the dictionary. It doesn't take that long to spot the word you want. If you
have trouble finding the word you want, try using a synonym. If a synonym
won't do, look up the synonym in a thesaurus. Chances are one of the synonyms
of your synonym is the word you want. It may take a minute or two to find
the correct spelling but, if you do it often enough, you learn how to spell
better and don't need to look up as many words. I used a dictionary to check
the spelling of a word in this article, and it didn't hurt a bit.
