I only received a follow-up on a question asked in this group but I
guess someone wanted to know how to repel deer from a garden.
At the Cary Arboretum, a division of the New York Botanical Garden,
simple method was developed. They took human hair from a nearby
beauty salon and stuffed it into nylon stockings. These bags were
then suspended around the woods. Voila! No deer! Of course, when
I first saw them, I was repelled, too.

Also, I've heard that spreading lion dung around a garden will keep
out most herbavores.
