The discussion of the heads-up display hardware stirred my memories.  A
couple of years ago there was some discussion of alternatives to mice.
Two stuck in my brain:
1 -- Putting trackballs on the bottom of the keyboard so that you could
     move IT like a mouse,
2 -- Giving each person a starset mike, and having them whistle to the
     cursor.  you can whistle in two ranges; high for the Y axis, low
     for the X.  There was also some claim that whistling to your
     terminal would also reduce stress.
