I won't quote ad nauseum concerning a response to my letter describing an
accident where I braked hard for a tailgater and was subsequently rear-ended.
Suffice it to say, the respondee was of the opinion that the accident was my 
fault -- and, of course, he was 50% right.  Indeed the thrust of my article 
was that this action was not the brightest thing I have ever done (ranking right
behind the time I caught a copperhead snake and ran around the neighborhood 
showing it one and all).

But he was also 50% wrong.  Drunk drivers without licenses or insurance are
not the sort of creatures we should encourage to use our highways.  Applying
his logic to other crimes, one might blame women for rape and pedestrians 
for armed robbery.  I don't think he meant to say that (if he did, then I
will have to lower his score by at least 35 points).
