Currently, whenever a user using the jclsh detaches a process and logs out, the terminal is not re-initialized until the background jobs finish. Init does get a signal as the wtmp file has an entry stating the logout time but getty never sucessfully starts up. Is there some sort of problem with the vhangup routine or is something else wrong? keith packard ...tektron!reed!keith reed college portland, or 97202 503-771-1112 ext 570
