The computer here went down as this message was being
transmitted so here is a repeat.

One thing I've noticed over the years is that when guys
get together by themselves, some will make derogatory
comments about women in general. Invariably it seems that
these guys are the very ones women find most attractive.
My feeling is that since these guys don't really care too
much about women as people, they approach them freely,
which women generally interpret as concern and affection.
Nice guys tend to be less aggressive and hang back more,
which is probably interpreted as lack of interest or
even as being hostile.
As examples of two extreme cases consider: 1) A guy
who invariably made disparaging comments about women
when they weren't around yet who was an EEO officer.
2) A fellow who was extremely honest (so much so I
wouldn't hesitate to trust my life in his hands) and
was quite enjoyable to be with yet women ignored him
because he wasn't aggressive like the first guy.
These are merely observations. I don't see that much
can be done about it.
