This is not a new film (it won an Oscar for Best Documentary a year or
two ago), but it's playing at the Symphony Space Theatre on NY's Upper
West Side, and if you haven't seen it yet, you shouldn't miss it now.
Documenting violist Isaac Stern's 1979 tour of the People's Republic
of China, it is visually breathtaking, musically delightful, but most
of all a very moving story of the emergence of China from the throes
of the "Cultural Revolution."
