The Smithsonian Institution offers, among other things, recordings
of music played on various instruments from their collection.
Among these is a recording of Bach's harpsichord partitas,
played by James Weaver, that is a gem. The sound of the recording,
the sound of the instrument itself, and the quality of the playing
are all excellent. I highly recommend it.

It is available either by itself (3 LPs, #3008), or as part of
a larger set that also includes the Brandenburg Concerti
and assorted violin and viola da gamba sonatas (9 LPs, #9007).

The catalog they sent me says you can call them at 800-228-5454.
