Right now, I'm using one of the new RIXON R212A intelligent modems.
We just got several, and we're trying them out (both from terminals
and at the VAX end). So far, I'm pretty happy with it. There are
some annoying bugs (that RIXON has promised to fix)--in particular,
either the manual is screwed up or it's nigh on impossible to get the
modem to stop answering incoming calls (unless you put it in Hayes
mode).

The modem is 103/212 compatible, will store 10 numbers (with linking
to alternate numbers supported).

List price: $495 (which we paid for guaranteed rapid delivery). I've
heard that there is an ad in BYTE quoting a $365 price, but I haven't
seen it.
