On two Fords, I have added interval wipers.
What you do is order from parts, a governor (box with a circuit board
and connecting cable assembly) and switch for interval wipers
for the model car you have.
The cable connector on the original wiper switch is removed and plugged
on the new governor. The new governor has a connector for the new
switch.
Remove the old switch and replace it with the new one and you have 
original equipment interval wipers. (re-use the knob)

Cost is about $75.  You might try a junk yard. There is on two models
of Ford governors that I know of. ( depending if the wipers have both
park and home positions or not )
