Lines: 18 Ok - I cope I can resolve the discussion about Kennedy's statement once and forever: "Ich bin ein Berliner" can mean both: "I am a doughnut" or "I am a Berliner" depending on context - its simply ambiguous. I hope you accept my qualification to state that - I am from Berlin/Germany and have lived there all my life. By the way - in Berlin that sentence is not ambiguous because doughnuts are called "Pfannkuchen" - not "Berliner". --chris (Christian Bader) --- UUCP: (brl-bmd,allegra,seismo)!umcp-cs!cb ARPAnet: cb.umcp-cs@UDel-Relay CSnet: cb@umcp-cs
