If someone lives far enough away from work that they feel speeding
is the solution to reducing the travel time, they must be insane.
They should move closer to their place of work.

There are tradeoffs involved in moving close to work. The place you work
may not be located in a place you'd like to live; it may be worth the trouble
of living farther from work.

Cost per mile is increased by driving faster than about 45mph.
The costs are less mpg, wear, irritation and traffic tickets.

1) You don't get traffic tickets driving faster than 45MPH on a road
with a 55MPH speed limit.
2) I'm sure cost per mile could be decreased by driving 35MPH too; the
question is whether the curve has a minimum. If not, cost per mile could
be decreased by driving .001MPH as well.

Sorry, these arguments are worse than most.
