If you can wait till October get the new ATARI 1450XLD.
Price under $900
Memory 64k Ram 24k Rom
Double sided Double Density Disk Drive Built-in
256 colors
Bus extension slots available (for soon to be released CPM card)
has 8 slots and 2 serial ports
Built in 300 baud auto dial modem
Built in Voice syn. can read and say text
Built in modulator
40x24 display (Atari has one of the cleanest displays around
due to its very very very low RFI/EMI)
191x320 pixels in High Res.
Built in printer port.

I can go on but the Atari computers are by far the best buy around
I used a c64 for a while and thought it was garbage. It uses to
many peeks and pokes instead of nice little functions like
SETCOLOR x1,x2,x3 x1=color register x2=color x3=hue
PLOT X,Y turns on a pixel
DRAWTO X,Y draws line from last plot point (0,0) default
of course you could also POKE these on the Atari but it
is nicer to have a name instead of a number.
The Atari is about the best HOME computer around.

Ready for ANY flames
