Redwood National Park, in N. Cal. is one long traffic jam. In my opinion
it's not worth it unless you intend to get off the road and into the
forest. It seems to be mile after mile of campers all going 30mph.

However, there are other redwoods around. The Avenue of the Giants about
five hours N of SF off of Rt101 is a good example of redwoods. There are
some in Muir Woods. Up along the coast of California they sell redwood
burls like they're going out of style (N of Ft. Bragg). Actually, they
seem to be all over.
