The vinyl dashboard is the primary source, which explains why the stuff is only noticeable on the windsheild. When all of the emulsifier has evaporated it will ofcourse stop condensing on the windows, unfortunatly, this stuff keeps the vinyl soft. When it's all gone the vinyl will become brittle. One of my cars is ten years old and it seems to have more emulsifier on the glass this year.
