Tom Beltz was second, Eric Mozer ninth. Cumulative standings of U.S. pilots: Beltz third, Mozer sixth. 15-meter class: U.S. pilots continue to slip in this class. Ray Gimmey failed to complete the course on the fiifth contest day. Day 6 - won by a French pilot, Gimmey 9th, Striedieck 17th. Cumulative - Striedieck 5th, Gimmey 11th. Open class: Moffat consistently places well, but Renner (Australia) is hard to beat. Day 6 - won by a German pilot, Renner second, Moffat third, Butler sixth. Cumulative - first Renner (5944 points), second Moffat (5566 points) fifth Butler (5310). The contest is scored on the basis of 1000 points for the winner, and a proportional number for other finishers, based on their speeds relative to the winner. Renner's ~400 point lead looks strong, but the contest has one more week to run, and one bad mistake could put him within Moffat's reach.
