Their double play combination was something to see -- Kessinger and Beckert, on offense as well as on defense. Kessinger led off, followed by Beckert. Inevitably, Kessinger would get on, and Beckert would either advance him to second, or get a hit himself. It was one of the best leadoff combinations I've seen. As the song went: Hey, hey! Holy mackeral! No doubt about it! The Cubs are on their way!
