Bought in Panama in 78, I had the handset stolen out of my car in
Venezuela. I then found out that in the instruction-booklet, there
was no information as to were it was produced, nor any address.
It stated to take it to your authorized maintenance place, sure,
wherever that may be.

I have since tried EVERYTHING to find out who is hiding behind the
brand-name ALCOM, called the FCC, wrote to Japan, to various
government and industry offices, no luck.

There is a US-company called ELCOM, but they say they never heard of
that brand either.

What does one do with a base-station without a handset, anyway?
can it be converted into a radar detector? An auto alarm?
Does anyone care to trade it in for a "Lowenbrau"?

Frustrated, and not going back to South-America, at least, not until
Carneval in Rio.
