As I understand it, the INTENTION of fa.info-vax is a VAX hardware or
operating-system independent newsgroup.  The fact that it is being used as
a forum for VMS users should be significant of a need for a separate newsgroup
devoted to problems/discussions of VMS related issues.

Another problem is that many sites (mine, in particular) do not recieve
any or some of the arpanet group -- or the group may be "filtered" out someplace
upstream by a system that is not particularily interested in a particular group
(such as a purely UNIX site not wanting news on VMS)

Although the news at our site has been coming through sporadically, the mail
has been pretty steady.  I have received a number of positive responses to
my inquiry re VMS newsgroup, especially for a group such as net.vms.flame
to debate UNIX vs. VMS issues which would "otherwise overwhelm the good stuff"
in the words of one respondant.  I have also recieved some rather negative 
responses... (presumably some synapses temporarily fused to anal cavities)
