The "American Pie" lyrics about the "father, son and the holy ghost"
almost certainly refer to some trio of musical figures, since
the rest of the piece does.  Why should he start getting literal
all of a sudden after miles of things about Mick Jagger as Satan,
and so forth and so on?  Give me a break.
