The 200hp Mustang that was mentioned is the new SVO (Special Vehicle
Operations) Mustang. It will be an '84 release. It has yet more frontal
area reduced from the car and more areo assist devices. The engine has
been tweaked and the interior has been nicely updated. However, it will
cost you some extra dollars to get one from what I am told. The car has
been tested in racing. The SVO vehicle I would like to see is the T-bird
SVO I saw. With a tinier (?) nose, skirts, and whale tail, it looked
awesome. The car was fitted with the 2.3L Turbo that was almost the
same as the current Turbo. The car had a top speed of 130mph. Not
bad. Ford is showing a commitment to performance and fun-to-drive but
money problems have scratched the SVO T-bird for now.
