people on a 4.xbsd system have a program called "fmt". If you dont
have access to a berkeley system, it isnt that hard to write, or if
your licensing permits I could send you one. USG is sopposed to have
one as well, which takes a width as an argument, but the Berkeley
4.1bsd one doesnt.As a kludge you can change the defined line width.

If you want to quote from someone elses news article, save it, and run it
through fmt. You will get a less wide, pretty looking piece of text
which you can insert (right justified) into anything you are editing.

Fmt is a kludge in places; and has bugs; and the code disagrees with
the documentation in places; and it doesnt pass lint; and I should
write a better one -- but it is a quick fix for those looking for
better ways to indent quotations in a news article.
