     I hate to think this is true but there is a chance Atari
dropped the 1400 & 1450 in order to get their Apple-II/IBM-PC/Atari
compatable computer out faster.  With the massive enthusiasm over the
Peanut they may feel nobody would notice the 1400 & 1450. But if they
offer a 3-way compatible system for less then the Peanut then they
may have something to compete with.  Now, since Atari can't seem to
manufacture 2 products at the sametime it's only natural that they
would have to stop production on the 1400 series.  Gee, and I was going
to buy Atari stock, maybe it isn't to late to buy 'Puts' after all.
