1) The chances that somebody riding your tail is a police officer/fireman/etc.
as opposed to somebody who wants to go 75 when the prevailing traffic in the
left lane is going 65 aren't that high.

2) I don't consider it good judgement on the part of the police office/fireman/
etc. to be riding the tail of the driver in front of them.  If they want the
person in front of them to move aside, and are trying to be inconspicuous,
perhaps they could flash their headlights (or, preferably, their grille red
lights) without any siren.  If they don't HAVE any red lights or siren on
their vehicle I'm not sure that's the appropriate vehicle to be responding to
emergencies with.
