But then: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ YOU>> My point is that remaining open-minded, even if partially against one's will -- that is, consciously suspending judgement -- has gotta be healthy even if the close-minded drip you end up awakening the next morning stupidly feels shame and other invalid emotions. If you say such flights into expansive mind-set destruction are 'feigning interest', then I suspect you may attribute too much importance to your daily emotional & intellectual state. If you use `suspension of judgement' as a technique for cynically maintaining status quo in your head, subsequently reverting to the egotistic `I picked her up' mentality, then you deserve the self- destructive guilt trips that typically assault hypocritical fools. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ME>> Now hold on; let me restate here. If I don't judge that's healthy. Fine. I'll buy that. Shame isn't an invalid emotion, though. How can an emotion be invalid? If your MOTOS feels badly, doesn't that make you feel badly too? When I date/pick-up/whatever someone, I form an emotional bond with them. Even if it's fairly tenuous. But okay, if that's how you feel, fine. Then... what?!?!? What flights? Let me try for a restate. You feel that attribution etc. etc. is responsible, no, that isn't it either. What are the flights? You, or the MOTOS feeling the invalid emotions? If it's you, well, you... damn, Mike, I haven't the faintest idea what you just said... Maybe if I knew what "expansive mind-set destruction" was. Maybe it's been too long since I was in California? Could you do that part again? Gently yours, Keith ...![ allegra, seismo, mcnc, we13 ]!rlgvax!keith p.s. Why don't we use MOTO instead of MOTOS? It's a much better construction. Everytime I see "a MOTOS" it sets my teeth on edge. And what would the plural be? MOTOSs? Or maybe MOTOSes... I know, I know, only someone with a real bad psychological problem would worry about this. To redeem myself, a little grammatical entertainment: A fitter fits; Though sinners sin A cutter cuts; And thinners thin And an aircraft spotter spots; And paper-blotters blot A baby-sitter I've never yet Baby-sits -- Had letters let But an otter never ots. Or seen an otter ot. A batter bats (Or scatters scats); A potting shed's for potting; But no one's found A bounder bound Or caught an otter otting. --Ralph Lewin
