I've heard that the three major causes of auto accidents are (in this
order):

1) Illegal lane changes
2) Tailgating
3) Speeding

Now, how many people do you see getting stopped for the first two???
I've been hit by a loser who was tailgating me, and I had a gnarly
experience involving an illegal lane changer. I was once fortunate
enuf to suck a tailgater into getting a ticket by not switching lanes,
increasing my speed to about 75 with the guy a few inches off my
bumper, and crusing by a highway patrol. Had he stopped me, I'm sure
I'd have taken the case to court.

Anyway, it seems that the inforcement of traffic laws doesn't reflect
the statistics. Such irony.
