There once was a famous baseball pitcher named Mel Famie
(pronounced ). He was one of the best in the league,
and all his fans screamed for him; he nearly always struck out
his victims. One afternoon during a game, it didn't seem to
peculiar that he walked one of the other team's best players.
The crowd was *shocked* when he walked the second batter.

As the third player stepped up to the plate, the catcher
readied himself for the pitch, and noticed a beer can falling
out of Mel Famie's pocket. He looked up at the batter in
amazement and asked, "Did you see that?!?"

   "Yeah," said the batter,
"It's the beer that made Mel Famie walk-us!!"

       (think about it!)
