These are (some of) the final results of the 18th World Soaring
Championships, after 12 competition days:

Standard Class: 1 Stig Oye, Denmark (LS-4) 10,780 points
                 2 Tom Beltz, U.S. (LS-4) 10,771
                 3 Buchanan, Australia (LS-4) 10,714
                 4 Eric Mozer, U.S. (LS-4) 10,499
The results must have been a real heartbreaker for Tommy Beltz,
but the manufacturers of the LS-4 must be celebrating. Will
the Standard Class be the next one-type competition?

15-meter Class: 1 Kees Musters, Netherlands (Ventus A) 11,259
                 2 Karl Striedieck, U.S. 11,145
                 3 Goudriaan, South Africa 10,709
                 10 Ray Gimmey, U.S. 10,278

Open Class: 1 Ingo Renner, Australia (Nimbus 3) 11,784
             2 Bruno Gantenbring, W. Germany (Nimbus 3) 11,295
             4 George Moffat, U.S. (Nimbus 3) 10,587
             7 Dick Butler, U.S. 10,450
