The slug problem: I hear the slug fence works great. Also came across this
awful solution to the problem which I have not tried for obvious reasons.

The article says to gather up a couple of pints of slugs, let them set
out in the warm sun for a few days to get good and ripe, run them through
a blender, and spread the result over the area you wish to protect. The
author of the article said this method will keep slugs away for up to
two years. (gag.. could anyone possibly do this with out becoming ill
or does anyone imagine ever using the blender again) Once you hear about
this method its hard to forget it, kinda sticks in your mind.

As for me, DEADLINE almost works and I never have seen a dead bird any
where near the garden so I doubt that they eat it. In fact, I don't know
how any bird would have room for the DEADLINE after stuffing themselves
with my strawberrys and blueberrys. Any advice on how to deal with the
birds ?
