A group called the Hutterites hold nearly all things in common.  
They are an Anabaptist group who very successfully engage in agriculture.
(So successfully, in fact, that governments at various levels around
here have tried to enact anti-Hutterite legislation.)  
  
Quite a bit has been written on them from an anthropological point of
view.  Correctly, they are called the Hutterian Brethren.
