Yes, you will find the (U) on things like laundry detergent. Now
I know you aren't likely to want to eat laundry detergent, but it's
easy for the manufacturer to get the approval for such a product and
it does have some relevance. If the detergent is ever used for washing
dishes or pots, it must be Kosher. (I suppose, conceivably, that if
kids are going to put parts of their clothing in their mouths, you'd
want it to be washed with a kosher detergent, too:-)
	Other products where you will definitely find the "hechsher"
(supervision) include dish detergent, silver polish, tin foil,
Ajax and Spic'n'Span cleansers (used on sinks and whatnot), steel wool
soap pads....
