    As a dedicated 55mph driver (even that speed terrifies me, but going
    slower dangerously obstructs traffic flow), I have evolved a technique
    I call `unpassing' that I use in interstate traffic.

    Simply pull into the left (or center) lane, slow down until the
    tailgater has pulled ahead, and get back into the right lane.

    Sometimes people look confused by the this maneuvre, but it's safe
    as long as the left lane is clear for a good distance behind.

    On normal roads, this is crazy; however, here it's safe and easy to
    pull off the road.
