Any comments on Oregon's new public (non)smoking law?

As I understand it, it makes it unlawful to smoke in any
public place except in designated areas. This includes
restaurants, stores, offices, etc. It's supposed to just
give the management of such places the clout to ask people
to stop polluting the air. There are no penalties to
smokers, and only small fines to establishments who don't
enforce the law.

The law just went into effect -- we'll see how it works.
