If you drive in Montana you'll encounter (unsurprisingly) a lot
of tortuous, winding mountain roads that crawl slowly up and up and
(*sigh*) up.  After hours of this, at the top, you will encounter
a sign that proclaims, laconically

I guess it means "summit."
