In the gospels it is recorded that he gave the money back to the priests, but then hanged himself. In the first part of Acts it is stated that he used the money to buy a field, but he fell headlong in it and burst apart (macabre!). I've presented this contradiction to several Christians of the fundamentalist ilk, but have never received a satisfactory answer. They could only manage a weak apology that Judas hanged himself, but after a while the rope broke and his body tumbled into the field and burst apart. Ye gods... Don Chan
