I'm so sick of seeing that inane "Ooops - no text editor" on articles.
If your version of postnews doesn't call a text editor, then the
obvious thing to do is write the article as a text file with an editor,
and say "sendnews < file". (Obviously, you have to substitute in your
own program and file names.) I have no respect for anyone who doesn't
feel strongly enough about the worth of their article to go to the very
small additional trouble of doing this. Alternately, it is the very
essence of simplicity to write a short shell script that calls up an
editor on a temporary file, posts news according to the command-line
options, and removes the temporary file. Please take the trouble to
make what you post more pleasant for your intended audience.
