For those who want to be the first on their block to have a homebrew
wire-wrapped NS16000 system, National Semi. is offering an evaluation kit.
The kit (Part Number NS160KIT) includes a NS16032 CPU, an NS16201 Timing
and Control unit, and data sheets for the two devices. Two versions
of this kit are available. The NS160KIT-S6 features a 6 Mhz CPU, and
costs $182, while the 4 MHz CPU kit (NS160KIT-S4) goes for $145. NS is
kind of stingy when it comes to samples and data books, so so unless one
has a contact with a friendly rep, this may be the best way to get a
16000 to play with.
