I disliked it so much that I wrote a subset of the Rand Editor in Pascal. This editor is truly screen-oriented, and can intermix text and commands. I especially have trouble remembering to end the insertions with ctrl-C because I use vi on a UNIX system at work. As you may know, vi ends insertions with escape - and this has a different effect on the Apple (the text disappears!). I won't be satisfied until I can use the Rand Editor at work and at home. I am currently evaluating a C compiler for the Apple that will allow a more powerful editor than the one I wrote in Pascal. I also heard that the Apple Pie editor is similar to the Rand Editor. If anyone is using Apple Pie, please contact me. Happy editing, Dave Newkirk ixn5h!dcn
