I have the sony fm receiver only that sells for $50.00.
I am very pleased with it. I use when I am doing uninteresting
work or running. It is powered by 3 aa cells and they
last a long time. I rcently bought a sony pro6
cassette unit. The quality is excellent but the
battery life is only 3 hours on 4 penlite cells.
It also can record but it has no built in mike.
It has Dolby that eliminates the tape hiss. I
was planning to add an amplifier to my car
so I could use it there. Anybody aware of
an unit that would take the stereo output
and convert it to stereo FM so I could play it
through the car radio. Or does anybody know
how easy it is to break into the audio of the
car radio. The radio is a DELCO that came
with a 78 full size Chevy.

You may want to look at the Sony walkman 7.
It has Dolby and is play back only and cost around
$140.
