We are considering using DEC Rainbows in an office
word-processing environment. This would involve 20 - 40 Rainbows.
We would like to support terminal emulation and electronic mail
via access to our local UNIX system, as well as some sort of
file and print `serving'. The Rainbow has an RS432 (?) port
which can be used on a multi-drop arrangement (single twisted
pair connecting all machines). I believe that the Corvus net
is over such a connection. Does anyone out there currently
have such a network, or is anyone considering it?
Do you have software that might support some sort
of local multi-drop network? Do you know of anyone who is thinking
about such things?
