The only ones who consistently made a point of wearing them correctly were the new high school and college slaves who wanted to impress themselves and their friends. Perhaps everyone else felt that it violated their body space or something. Every now and then the Marine guards (who wore their badges) would happen upon us, and tell us to wear them. The only time a person HAD to wear it was in restricted areas, and that ended the fun (maybe that's why they weren't worn elsewhere?). - a former college slave
