As far as System III licenses for a particular machine class, a license (any UNIX license) is not for a particular machine class but for a particular machine. You could license your Cray-1 for UNIX Version 6. The license implies what software you can run on what machine. When ordering System III/IV, the distinctions between machines are used to help them determine which tapes and boot instructions to send you. Hope this helps. aps.
