Just an addition to the comments rlgvax!thekid made regarding " when
relationships break up hard". I think that someone being real nasty and
dishonest are not the only reasons.

More times than I would care to remember, I have had a relationship break
up hard because I had gotten more involved with the person than they
had gotten with me. (And this could be a side issue of pushing to hard
or trying to hard I am sure).

It seems to me that in any relationship one person almost always cares more for
the other.

After all, someone had to START things, so, by definition, they are showing
the stronger interest.

Ideally, I suppose, the recipient of this attention may feel mutually
attracted and both their levels of interest may just climb at an even
pace.

In reality, it seems that one person is always the more interested of the
two, this leading, I think, to the "inevitable" nasty break up, not because
of DIS-honesty, but due to honesty, as in "Look, we should only be friends."
