After all, single people of one sex can have married friends of the opposite sex. For example, approach the subject to your friend in a humorous manner such as, "You'll have to excuse me for a moment, my wife likes me to call her if I'm going to be late coming home. Doesn't your husband mind when you get in?" If she avoids giving even a hint if she's married, ask her more directly. If she's married, you now know. If she isn't, she now knows where your values lie and may even respect and like you more. If she lies, well, what can you do? I think it is hard for anybody to resent an inquiry such as your's if they have a smile on their face - that is why I suggest a little humor. Matt Noah ihuxx!fargo
