I am refering to all those ads on the tube that "implore" people 45-80(!) to sign up for additional life insurance. How much can life insurance be worth at age 80? Especially a policy which can never be cancelled (presumably even if you're falling apart). I suppose that people are living longer, and that these companies' acturial tables finally crossed some magic break-even point. Still, is it worth it for the old folks? While I'm at it, I might also add that I find the actors who do the ads particularly distasteful. In *small* print at the bottom, it says that they are being compensated, but do you know anyone over ~60 who can and does read that stuff? Thank you for your time Robert A Zimmermann (..!idis!mi-cec!raz)
