It isn't immediately clear to me that there "are more Z80 than 6502 systems
out there."  But if one extends the bounds a little to include the Atari
2600 and 5200 VCS machines, the Z80 market is a magnitute smaller than the
6502 market!  The 5200 might even allow for some programmability in the
future.  And as far as authors of game software are concerned, I think the
6502 market is the place to be.
