Sorry to come into this discussion late, but, being one of the
denizens of the net who perpetually flames about spelling and
grammar, I just had to get my two dimes worth (inflation!) in about
the use of lower case vs. upper case.

I agree with jj at "rabbit", capitalization of certain words, as well
as the judicious sowing of commas, periods, et. al. at the right spots
in the message, helps me to read the submission better and,
if the punctuation and capitalization is properly performed,
removes possible ambiguities from the meaning.

If you have enough conviction in your own views to "voice" them
them on this network, then, for your own sake, "voice" them in such
a way that they will not be discounted as the random ramblings of some
"illiterate slob".

I, for one, wade through this battered "graffiti wall" about once
a week, and, even though I try to make sense of some submissions,
there seems to be no hope for them. Lack of respect (if I may be so
bold as to use such a phrase) for proper elements of grammar, punctuation,
and usage makes some submissions almost the equivalent of random
typing by the proverbial six chimpanzees.

A very few GOOD writers can get away with abusing the language,
but I doubt that any of us are in the same class with Damon Runyon,
much less e. e. cummings (sic).

P.S.
The last time I flamed about this, I got a non-inflammatory note
from someone who had a learning impediment which made it very
difficult for them to spell words properly. (Some form of dyslexia,
I believe.)
These people try harder than the rest of us to "get it right", and
I respect them for their efforts. It is the people who are
"just plain lazy" (i.e. not wishing/wanting to touch the shift key,
the comma key, the period key, etc.) who really frost my cake.
