In fact, the recording quality is quite amazing, given 1962 technology. Since the set was released only in 1975 (?) or so, I wonder how much fairly modern signal processing went into the production release as compared to the original tapes... Check especially Sawillisches' (sp?) Lohengrin... and I particularly enjoyed Elsa's procession to the Cathedral..
