In a recent followup, cly@cbosgd was asking whether the person who
posted an article "cheap fun for two", was implying that
being single was something you did "if you had nothing better
to do". Carl said that he felt being single was a very desirable
state; that he prefered it.

Of course, the reason why a lot of people get married, or reasonable
equivalent, is to raise children. Are there any net.singles subscribers
out there, who set out to be single parents? Does anybody know anyone
who set out to be a single parent? I am particularly looking for people
who decided to raise one or more children alone, before they undertook
the preliminaries, although I am sure that divorced, or reasonable
equivalent single parents far outnumber them.

In any case, I would be very interested in hearing from such people.
How do you like it?
