I currently live in Massachusetts, and my family lives in Michigan. Once
or twice a year I drive through Canada to visit them. Up until the last
time I visited them (around Christmas) the price of gas in Canada has been
alot cheaper, especially with the exchange rate. While the cost of gas
in the US has been pretty steady (and now declining), the price there
has been consistantly rising. At the beginning of January, I paid
46 cents/litre which is about 1.80 per gallon. Even with an exchange
rate of 20% that I received, that's still 1.44. So for those of you who
think it's cheaper, don't believe it. Does anyone out there know why
it's so much more expensive there?
