There was some discussion about new product announcements a few months
ago, and the general feeling in the net was that people wanted to see
them. The important considerations seemed to be
They should be easy to shut off (e.g. a separate newsgroup)
They should not be repetitive (1 copy per product)
They should be things of interest to the community (e.g. we'd
like to hear about the new Framus 68K UNIX workstation, but
not about Glade air freshener or OS/360 JCL enhancements).
The suggested newsgroup at that time was net.ad (as in advertisement).
That group died and I can't remember why - I think people preferred to
see them in their appropriate subject newsgroup (net.jobs, net.wanted,
net.micro, etc.) There hasn't really been any traffic like this.

As for net.graphics, it's an obvious one. Assuming there's lots of
interest and something to talk about, great.
