Strange as it may sound, two antioxidant food additives, butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) have actually been identified as "specific agents that inhibit [!] carcinogen-induced cancers". The author cites J.Toxicol.Environ.Health, 5-6, 963 (1980) as the source (no, I haven't looked it up) of this unexpected information. What is this world coming to, when you can't even hate completely the chemicals they dump in our food???
