Goodfellow Remailed-To: Info-VAX@SRI-CSL.ARPA: ; At MIT we use BATCH jobs submitted via the CHAOSNET, mainly for software updates/snarfing, reloading wedged device drivers, etc. When you have to do the same thing to 'n' VAX it makes more sense than using remote login 'n' times. There is also interest in using this hack for off-loading text compilations such as SCRIBE and TEX, which are essentially batch operations. (Also SPICE).
