Murphy Avenue Sunnyvale, CA (408) 736-1323 C-64 $499 VIC-20 $149 1541 disk $399 1525 printer $345 Robert Lock, editor of COMPUTE! magazine says that the VIC-20 was recently advertised at K-Mart for $139; he expects it to be less than $100 soon. The best prices available to bay areans seems to be the Olympic Sales mail order outfit; let me recap their prices: Olympic Sales; Los Angeles; 800-421-8045 outside CA (I haven't called them yet; this is an echo of a previous network announcement). C-64 $399 1541 disk $369 with advertised deal that with purchase of C-64 you get $100 off the disk, or a free monitor, or $100 off software. I've noticed that both the VIC-20 and the C-64 have lousy video output UNLESS you bypass the RF modulator (ie plug the composite video output directly into a color composite monitor). Comments, anybody?
