From: utzoo!decvax!harpo!Anonymous Newsgroups: net.ham-radio Title: VUCC.grid.location - (nf) Article-I.D.: harpo.1351 Posted: Fri Jan 28 17:18:54 1983 Received: Sat Jan 29 04:56:52 1983 #N:harpo:8100001:000:671 harpo!Anonymous Jan 28 16:19:00 1983 I've written a fortran 77 program to determine the VUCC Grid Location given latitude and longitude. Example: 40d 46.9m N 74d 41.4m W = FN20ps See QST, Jan 83, "VHF/UHF Century Club", by W1XX, page 49. The definitions given for the 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th characters are mathematically incomplete. I had to call ARRL to find unambiguous descriptions. The program is a bit long to put out on the net unless there is sufficient interest. (About 100 lines, about half comments) If anyone is interested I can send them a copy from whuxb. The links for mail, usend, uucp, etc. to/from the new gummo unix seem to be gummed up.
