"The Hound of the Baskervilles" with Dudley Moore and Peter Cooke

A very uneven movie. Could be renamed "The Case of the Ten Gallon
Puppies", with foul liquids much in evidence. While loosely following
the story, many odd viginettes are added; some very funny, many quite
strange, and some just plain dumb. Terrible puns, bad camera work, and
sloppy editing are prominent, but an occasional bit of Pythonesque humor
slips through, such as Peter Cooke as Holmes explaining to a one-legged
man why he can't be a message runner.
This is marginally worth seeing if you are patient and can separate
the laughs from the garbage. It might be wise to wait until it's a second
feature, if it survives that long.
