I've got a 1979 Buick Regal with the non-turbo 231 ci. V-6. Lately,
I've been having cold starting problems. The symptoms are: the car starts
right up , but die after about 2 seconds. When I look under the hood,
I can see that the choke butterfly is closing properly, but after a
second or so it opens right back up. Apparently, something that keeps the
choke on until the engine warms up more isn't working. The car works fine
when warm. Is there some sort of temp. sensor (in the block, for ex.)
that is supposed to hold the choke on (perhaps by controlling a vacuum line)?
If you can help, please reply by mail. Thanks.
