Making the OS poll whether or not there is data to be read is so stupid as to not be believed. Anyone know of a unibus mux that has this builtin timeout? While I'm on the subject, if someone wants to build a better mux, output should be PIO with 1K bytes of buffer per channel, and there should be commands to stop, continue, and flush output, and there should be hardware ^S/^Q output flow control enabled by software.
