I have often heard it said (or have had it recommended to me) that religious
groups are good ways for singles to meet other people. Being an avowed
agnostic (not atheist) with no use for organized religion, I feel it
would be dishonest to join such a group for the specific purpose of
meeting women. Besides, I always feel rotten doing ANYTHING for the
specific purpose of meeting women. The activity has to be something I
enjoy for its own sake first; then I'm in the proper mood.
(Unfortunately an activity high on my list is, you guessed it,
hacking - note the time.)

How many others feel the way I do, that their non-religious (or
religious) convictions may have limited their social lives, but
can't feel the need to change their convictions? Also, how important
to most singles' social lives are their church groups or other
religous organizations?

No flames or passionate attempts to save me from same, please; I'm just
trying to find out how others feel.
