Considering the absolutely atrocious standard of spelling
set by usenet articles in general, I am more than surprised
that there has been such a furor over such a simple and
understandable misspelling as "ov" for "of".  The only 
objection I would have would be based on consistency:
if you are going to respell one word phonetically, why
not respell them all that way?  Then we kan awl wayst
