However, this does not solve the problem of sorting these records PHYSICALLY!! It may be very nice to stack records semi-randomly and have the computer point you to where a particular record is, but it's not something I'd use all the time ("Computer, give me a record in the neo-Flimsian style that would suit the moods for a romantic encounter during a nuclear attack"). I am still very interested in such systems, and once I get a machine of my own, I plan to implement one for my collection. However, I guess I was asking for PHYSICAL filing systems rather than computer-oriented systems. Thanx anyway for the responses, and I'll be in touch with those of you who responded with database system suggestions sometime in the future, when I get a home computer for myself (as someone, whose name escapes me as I write this, said, it is a great excuse for buying one).
