Mike,
  There is a wire on the MX-80 mother
board that controls where the printer
gets its input.  I assume that 
the F/T motherboard is the same.  
Basically, when you change the 
interface board to serial, 2K serial,
or IEEE (or anything else) you put
this jumper wire onto a large pin
on the interface.  I assume, however,
that you could rig up a switch...but
I've never tried it...so don't blame
me for that little puddle of beige
plastic...
