Never had a ring 'wear out' on me. Stealth: Walk by sleeping monsters w/out waking them up. Searching: Detect things just by walking by (i.e., traps and hidden doors). See Invisible: In old versions, the @ blanked out while it was asking what to call it. Maintain Armor: If you run into a Rust Monster, your armor doesn't rust. Sustain Strength: If you run into an Ant, stings have no effect. Teleportation: Obvious Aggravate Monster: Everything in the dungeon comes at you at once even normally quiescent monsters like E's and L's. Slow Digestion: Pretty subtle, you really have to be watching to notice this one. Rings of Protection and Increase Damage don't really show any outward signs (except monsters don't hit as well, and you hit harder). (Did I miss any?) =Spencer
