I think this is definitely better than his other solo (non-Wings) efforts. I was a little disappointed with his last album, "McCartney II", but this album proves he hasn't lost his touch. There is a wide variety of music on this album, but I expect this with McCartney. He has several "guest stars" helping him out, including Stevie Wonder, Denny Laine (who left Wings) and Carl Perkins. If I am not mistaken, Ringo plays the drums on a few songs. This is the first appearance of an ex-Beatle on a McCartney album. Every time I listen to this album I like it even more, and the critics probably think the same. My favorite song on the album is "Tug of War", which appears to be a tribute (of sorts) to John Lennon. Another one to look out for is "Rainclouds", with Denny Laine, currently availably on the flip side of "Ebony and Ivory". In my opinion this is his best album since "Band on the Run". I just hope his next album won't take two years to make. Scott Abbot Bell Labs, Merrimack Valley
