An interesting note: I have noticed that the TV sports programs have been using his music quite a bit. Last Sunday I was quite suprised to hear (as background music) TWO different songs off the SAME album within less than 2 minutes on a sports program (I'm afraid I don't recall whether it was NBC or ABC). If I'm correct (not a given fact), the songs were "Mountain Dance" and "Rag Bag" off the album called "Mountain Dance". I listened to the album afterword, so I'm pretty sure about the songs. This was not the first time I recognized Grusin's material as background material. My description of Dave Grusin is: an exceptionally lyrical pop-jazz composer-performer whose songs are (for the most part) rhythmic, catchy, pleasant, and un-demanding (both for performers and listeners). My bias is apparent. ===Tim Thompson===BTL/Holmdel===
