It occurred in spurts, say 4 times in one day then nothing for several weeks. Diagnostics found nothing. I called my friendly DEC service manager and got the following instructions from him to get more info for field service: Run with auto-restart OFF, when it dies type this on the console: EX SP (Examine the Stack Pointer) EX/V @/N:100 (And 100 locations on the stack(?)) EX 20003000/N:3 (Then the memory controller regs.) EX 18 (The SBI Silo) EX 1B (And SBI Fault) Luckily for me, it crashed one day while I was in the machine room. I slapped in "MICRO DIAG #1" as fast as I could and it found a bad board (M8227). It was replaced and I haven't seen the problem since (that was May 11, keep your fingers crossed). I never used the above instructions so I cannot vouch for them. If you want to talk more you can mail to me at ucbvax!Shasta!hedberg or call (415)497-5294. -------
