A thin flat piece of sheet metal with at least one straight edge is the best tool for this. Then spray out the socket with trichloroethylene or some equivalent cleaner, and then run fine emery cloth along both sides of your chip pins. Resocket them. If you have the type of sockets that make contact to the outer side of the chip pins, this method will usually fix a multitude of intermittent problems. _H* -------
