I am going to buy the minimum IBM PC and add my own disk drives. The recommended single sided disk drive for version 1.0 of MSDOS was the Tandon drive. I have read that the double sided Tandon drive causes excessive media and head wear. I have also read rumors that IBM is switching to another brand of double sided drive. Since I plan to buy my system very soon, can anyone tell me the recommended double sided drive for version 1.1 of MSDOS on the IBM PC?
