Of course, some think it desirable " ... and proud of it", and others not so " ....oh, one of those" Perhaps the most interesting thing is the structure of the social phenomena, not the content. Note other parallels; rich/poor, learned/folksy, city/country folk, etc... The polarization is of value only as it emphasizes differences, not for alienation.
