	What dale said in Article 40 is correct. However, I think what you
	are looking for is a general approach. The approach you should
	take is that you have to permanently assign lines from the com-
	puter to the dataswitch as outgoing only. This means that the
	"getty"s must be turned off. Then when you "open" the line, DTR
	goes up and the switch responds(hopefully) with CD. This completes
	the open and then you either do uucp/cu stuff or your own. Hope this
