To all composers of limericks:

The New York Daily News announced today a "I Love New York
Limerick Contest" with a first prize of $1000. This week's
subject is 'entertainment'.

They give the following as an example:
There's Annie, Evita and Lena Horne, too,
Dreamgirls, Amadeus, the Chorus Line crew,
		Applause they do seek,
		Eight times every week,
And New Yorkers come through right on cue.

Pretty meager, don't you think? Can't the usenet people beat that?

"Your limerick can be on any form of entertainment in New York or a
New York entertainment personality. (Or New York entertainment place
or entertainment anything!) . . . . Judges will base their decisions
mainly on over-all effect. Specific scoring will be based upon:
Overall content(75%), originality (20%), poetic form (5%). Taxes are the
responsibility of the prizewinners. No substitutes of prizes permitted."

Second prizes in the Daily News contest are 20 pairs of tickets to
"Pump Boys and Dinettes" (a Tony Nominee currently playing on B-way).

Entries should be on a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet in an envelope no larger than
4 1/8 x 9 1/2 (one entry per envelope). Send entries to:

I Love New York Limerick Contest
	Box 840 Dept B
	Grand Central Station
	New York, Ny 10163

Deadline is Noon, Wednesday, June 30.

Let's put the talents of the net to work and have "one of our own"
win that contest.
