As any serious- thinking engineer will testify, all the hardware in the world, however sophisticated, is useless without good software, AND vice versa! The con- glomeration of 68000's and 6809's, etc., etc., that I have sitting at my house probably totals to the equivalent of a system 370. However, it will probably take me (and several others along with me) years to get them all working efficiently together (not to mention individually). You can bet that the Russians *already* have enough American technology sitting somewhere behind the Iron Curtain to fill a good sized machine room. Now if only it were quite so easy to smuggle (or coerce) humans out of the U.S. Then we'd have something to worry about. Peter
