1) Someone made a reference to single keystrokes that can destroy a
whole day's work, in connection with EMACS.  He made this reference
as if it were to a commonly known and uncontroversial fact.
It isn't.  I don't believe it is possible to do this in an
uncustomized EMACS.

2) If you want to turn off some commands for beginners, you should
use the NOVICE library rather than writing it from scratch.  This is
not only less work, it also allows the individuals to experiment with
the commands that are turned off, and turn them back on if they like.
