The current version of Whitesmith's (2.1):
1) still has the problem that you must initialize global statics (is that
so hard?)
2) Can't speak for or against their run-time library - we have developed
our own portable library for use across operating systems
3) The non-existent assembly instructions problem has been fixed
4) Compiling something can be done via one command (a symbol which calls
a command file that runs the three pass compiler). Is that inconvenient?

Do you use some other C compiler on VMS or are you not working on this at
all?
