Why not have a new newsgroup called "net.libbers" or some such for all the
goody-two-shoes who can't see beyond a haze of sexist/racist/...ist
verbalism and actually look at the humourous intent of a joke. Much of our
humour has to do with building on caricatures (e.g. Newfies, Westerners,
Easterners, etc. (in Canada), Texans, College girls, etc. (in the States).
The people/races/sexes/etc. being caricatured can either find this humourous or
not, depending on whether they know how to laugh, not only at others, but
also at themselves. What's happened to people? Why is everyone so
defensive nowadays? Why can't people laugh?

(I realize there is a net.jokes.d, but I've wasted a lot of my time reading
other peoples's philosophy here, and I think somebody ought to stand up
for a more reasonable point of view.)
