The article on the FINAL EXAM reminded me of a story
I read in a magazine not long ago.

It seems that a student in a very large university class
(one of those classes that fill an auditorium) was taking
the final exam. The students were instructed to place
the completed exams in a stack on a table in the front of
the room, after which they were free to leave. This one
student walked up to the table with the completed exam and
started looking through the stack of exams left by the other
students who had all ready finished. After looking at
several of the papers, the student erased a couple of his
original answers and wrote in new answers. Needless to say,
the instructor was appalled by this blatant cheting and
asked the student what he was doing. Not wanting to tell
a lie, the student said "Changing my answers to what the
others have." The instructor reminded the student that
this behavior was in violation of the university's rules and
was punishable by such actions as receiving a score of zero
on the exam, failing the course and expulsion from the
university. The student, somewhat self assuredly, asked the
instructor if he happened to know his name. Being a large class,
the instructor had not even attempted to learn all the student's
names, and replied "No, I don't know your name." Then the
student turned to the students still in the classroom and asked,
"Do any of you know my name?" When nobody responded, the
student took his exam and put it in the middle of the stack
of completed exams and walked out of the room.
