On the contrary, Young Doctors in Love is *NOT*, repeat *NOT* done
by the people who did "Airplane".

YDiL is a cheap, ripoff, imitation of the Airplane-style spoof that
Jerry Zucker, David Zucker, and (somebody else, sorry!) made so popular
last summer. They also did the "Police Squad" series, which started
out great and went downhill (I never laughed so hard at a T.V. show).

YDiL has its (few) great gags, such as the (very humorous) timely
reference to E.T., and some interesting refs to video games.
But overall, you have to wade through quite a bit of dead time
to get to the funny stuff. And then, the funny stuff didn't seem
quite worth the wait. I was amazed at the fact that they didn't do
any real "canned" jokes, I mean that most of the stuff were jokes
that I hadn't heard before.

At least Airplane and Police Squad # 1 were continuously-hot material.

On a 1 to 10 spoof rating, with Airplane being a 10, I'd give YDiL a 4.
(I'd give Student Bodies, done by yet-another group, a 6, just FYI.)
