A Newfie working in Toronto was always getting ragged because of his
accent, so he decided to fix up his diction. He went to George Brown
College and took the radio announcer's course which teaches CBC
enunciation. He graduated, and lo and behold, his east coast accent
and vocabulary had completely disappeared!
He went into a store one day and said "I'd like a loaf of bread, a pound of
butter and a box of salt please. And do you have any bacon?"
The store keeper said, "I'll bet you are a Newfie".
"Why do you say that?"
"This is a hardware store".
