A friend of mine told me that during the Hilter era in Germany, all
German citizens were required to trace their family ancestry, I
guess to prove their pedigree.

Does anyone know if this is true? Are these records available for
genealogical research? Did the Germans require the same for the
citizens of the countries they conquered?

					Thanks is advance!
