Hi Readers and Typers,

Hana and Hina After School volume two. I found this rather
conventional shojo ai and perhaps yuri online first. Not
enough of it is online but the part that is piqued my interest.
This is a Milk Morinaga story.

I got the first volume of the story at the Kinokuniya
manga shop at Webster and Geary just over the hill in Nihon Machi
from the downtown area. In volume one the main characters
are introduced and I immediate decided and ordered the next two
volumes from TSRI and I got a very satisfactory Volume Two
earlier this week and read it totally. The romanji title is
Hana to Hina wa Hōkago.
These are two conventionally-minded girls. The one is
afraid of rejection and the other can hardly understand
her feelings about the other. I hope I see volume 3 before
the end of the year or at least before Spring.

These are both High School girls, one looks quite mature
and is kohai to the other who looks like a cute little girl in
her second year of HS. They are both delinquents breaking the
rules of their school by having after school jobs. [sic Madoka
in KOR]
The kohai is into anime, manga and game merchandise
of the extremely 'cute` variety and that is a big thing at the
shop where they work and do stocking and merchandise
arrangement to which the kohai is able to add her otaku
like knowledge of the 'cute` series.

There is some brief confusion about seniority.
By merchandise we are speaking of a multitude
of items with some visual connection to a show or a
show's mascot. These may be useful items like phone
cards, lunch bags for children, Clear files with the
imprinted characters, mouse-pads, cell phone charms,
and plush or otherwise children's, toy dolls.

They both do Cosplay at the booth of the store
during a Festival time and they are both very confused
about a lot of things. But they really like to work
together...

In short this is story only for shojo ai
fans who may be able to tolerate some light yuri.
Cute girls trying to learn to play nicely
with each other.

I now have recieved volume 3, these are HS students remember
which will cause some agitation on the part of those who deny sexual
agency to people under a certain age or in a unwed condition.
So in volume 3 it ends in physical bliss but mainly
with total alleviation of the psychological doubts and
hesitations that make the story so interesting,
I felt quite let down at the end of the story.
I will say that Milk sensei did not use any of the
spurting fluids or glistening with secretions genitalia
found too often in porn.
At the same time I really doubt that I will find this
as interesting as Genshiken, Whispered Words(Sasameki Koto) or
Yawara which provoke endless re-reading of the manga or
re-watching of the anime. Even the Showa History of Japan seems
eminently more re-readable. So is the Wandering Son (Hourou Musuko)
series.
I regret to a degree spending the approximately $30.00
on this story in a way that I do not regret buying some other
series at higher prices.
