“Sengoku Night Blood” is an adaptation of an otome cellphone game. In between ponderous and pretentious narration a story begins about a modern day girl who is sucked through her cellphone into a fantasy world where the clans and significant leaders of the Warring States period in Japan are represented by clans of vampires, werewolves and other sentient animals. The girl has the potential to bring peace of some sort to this world if she can find a missing and mysterious woman. The girl's blood also has a strange effect on the vampires.

There must have been no budget left for the animators once the salaries for the dozens and dozens of voice actors were paid, because the animation in the first episode is barely there. But even with that advantage the voice actors just “mail in” their performances. And so they should, because the writing for the dialog is as inane as the writing for what is passed off as a plot.

All-in-all, this is a very poorly done opening for this series. I forced myself to watch the entire thing but it was a very tough struggle. I'm not watching more and my final rating is D+.
