That was a surprisingly good season. I went into it with low expectations
but I enjoyed more shows than I expected. All shows are rated out of 10,
with 7 meaning that I enjoyed watching it, and 8 that I would consider
re-watching it at some point.

_Made in Abyss_ rating 9. Perhaps my favorite anime in several years.
I can describe it as a Ghibli movie set in an edgier, crueler world.
I have the same sense of awe at the scenery and world creation. The
characters remained appealing and easy to empathize with, despite all
they went through. The last episode was a masterpiece of both sadness,
"rightness", and optimism. It definitely deserves a second season sometime.

_Re: Creators_ rating 8. A lot of the appeal of this was in the
meta-discussions, so it may not appeal to some folks. A very nice
look at the relationships between writers/creators and their creations, as
the creations are brought to the real world and confront their authors.

_Princess Principal_ rating 8. A quite enjoyable steam-punk girl spy series.
It wasn't deep, but it was fun seeing the excellent characters.

_Kakegurui_ rating 7.5. A gambling fanatic girl invades a gambling high
school. The characters are all over the top, but give a peek into the
various motives of obsessive gamblers. Memorable.

_Classroom of the Elite_ rating 7.5. I liked this more than a lot of
folks did, evidently. It was uneven - too slow at times and too over-the-top
at others. But it has interesting comments on society and expectations
of individuals. It needs a second season to explain the overall story and
character motivations.

_Tsuredure Children_ rating 7.5. This was a series of shorts that I'm
surprised I liked as much as I did. I didn't start watching this
until mid-season, but it quickly grew on me, and I looked forward to
seeing it. It was a sequence of vignettes about the awkwardness of first
romances that somehow hit all the right notes, allowing the viewer to
empathize with the characters rather than laugh at them.

_Sagrada Reset_ rating 7.5. I've posted about my reaction to this already.
I liked the discussions and the plot, didn't mind the slowness, but didn't
particularly like the main character and the plot resolution.

_Virgin Soul Bahumut_ rating 6.5. It was an enjoyable series for much
of it, with Nina being a very attractive character. But the actions
of the king, and others, needed much more substantiating background.
This was a failure of the story-telling, not of the story itself. Too
many people "did the right thing", but they didn't have the
information they needed to convince the viewer that their actions were
in character.

I'm still watching continuing series _Nobunaga no Shinobi_, rating 7.5, which
is an amusing way to learn Japanese history.
