Fed up with the Gonbes 8220 and trying to tweak a good signal? Want a converter that actually has a housing instead of just a bare board? Don't want to spend $400-$500 for a Framemeister and still need the adapter and cable? Aren't able to construct a custom Cable specific for the llgs' unusual rgb pin configuration? Done that and been there myself.
If you have an Apple llgs original RGB CRT (Apple or Magnavox) or older ugly composite monitor that has stopped working completely or has a terrible image, this system will help. ( if your computer is ok.)
Comes complete with:
1) the rgb to vga converter - that is tested and works with a llgs! With power supply - NEW
2) the pin switch adapter that plugs into your RGB port on the back of the computer and then changes to VGA - NEW
3) (1) VGA 15 pin male-male Dsub cable to go from the adapter to the converter - NEW
4) (1) RCA (3 pin) component to VGA input cable (for input from a DVD player- comes with the converter)- NEW
5) If your VGA monitor comes with an attached VGA 15 pin female cable (most do) that's all you need. Otherwise, you need that cable, too. (about $5 on ebay)
Flow: llgs rgb external port--> llgs specific rgb-VGA crossover adapter-->15 pin VGA cable--> powered RGB to VGA converter --> 15 pin VGA female cable attached to VGA monitor.
I've tried several different converters trying to get my IIgs display working again when my old Maganavox RGB CRT died after 30 years This combination works the best ! See the photos. Tour of the Apple llgs, Copy II plus, Appleworks screen . And these photos don't do full justice! - the actual display is even better then my little camera can show !

An important additional test image would be the GSOS desktop. Most
RGB-to-VGA converters have trouble syncing to the 16MHz SHR dot clock, and
the blue/white dither of the desktop background is a good test of this
capability.

I see scaling artifacts on the GS/OS desktop in the auction. The mystery
upscaler offered in the auction (why is this information missing?)
doesn't appear to be doing enough horizontal sampling as the vertical
lines on the desktop background are not of even pixel width.
This is a common problem with the IIgs and video upscalers. 640x200 SHR
Mode slays all but the best of them.

Right--if the sampler doesn't sync to the dot clock, the beat frequency
will show up in the converted image. Typically it's 5-20 vertical bands
across the desktop.

The Highway 100 / CYP CM345S does a far better job, although they may be hard
to find in the US. Best IIGS to VGA is still Koichi Nishida's adapter. I've
tried perhaps a dozen scan converters with the GS over the years and nothing
even comes close to the Nishida Radio device.

The last I heard, Koichi was experiencing serious health issues and unable to
devote any efforts to producing boards. Hopefully he is ok.
In the meantime, VidHD does a fine job.
