As the new season of MST3K premieres, I've gone back and thought about the great MSTing tradition that's laid (mostly) moribund these past 14 years since the deletion of WS#9. As time moves onward, I've become worried about the survival of this fictional form (some of the Google Groups links on The MSTing Mine have started to become inactive). To this end, over the past several weeks, I've started to archive .txt files of MSTings on my computer, starting with some of the more prominent ones. I've attempted to use my memory (as well as surviving records) of past MSTing Awards, along with what the general consensus was at the time, to put together a "canon" of sorts, which I'm hoping to host on a website, and which can serve as an intro for any newcomers that might be interested, post S11 of MST3K, in looking into what this community was all about. Perhaps, in addition to MST3K itself returning, the MSTing tradition might have a shot at a revival as well?

I've been able to find the vast vast majority of MSTings that I'm interested in archiving/including, but a handful have eluded me.To that end, I have a couple of requests for MSTing information that people might have available:

-MSTing Award nominations for 1999-2001. 1995-1998 are available in Google Groups still (along with part of 2000), and I think that pre-1995 is reconstructable using Wayback Machine archives of WS#9. This would probably help jog my mind a little and come up with some stuff I might have forgotten.

-Actual copies of the following MSTings:
-"Shadows in the Mist" by Melvin Pollack
-"Expanding Negaverse" by Bryan Lambert
- "Manos 2" by Kevin Ramsey and others
-"Dr. Minotaur and the Utaalk" (only certain sections are available via the Wayback machine) by Jen White
-"Shinra's Revenge?" by RJak

-And a final personal request:

I wrote a handful of MSTings myself from 2001-2003 in my early teenage years. They probably weren't very good, but they were some of the earliest writing projects (and some of the only completed ones) that I've ever done. However, as they were saved on floppy disks, I now have no personal record of them. The only other places I knew them to be located were on WS#9, and my Geocities site (now also defunct). They were MSTed under the name Yesmar, and their titles were "Mushroom Kingdom Madness," "The Least One Can Do," "Ego Trip 2002," and "Any Given Day."

I know that some people had saved archives of WS#9 MStings at some point, and if anyone has these archived somewhere, I would really appreciate it if someone could pass on a copy to me. The first MSTing briefly reappeared on Joseph Nebus's attempted WS#9 reboot circa 2009, but I foolishly didn't save it while I had the chance. The MSTing is still visible if you view the site on the Wayback Machine, but the link to my MSTing itself doesn't work.

I know this is a lot to just show up and ask for, but if anyone could help out with any of this, it would be greatly appreciated!

Best,
Ramsey F

That's one's available here along with others by the same author:

Jen White was a pen name of Kim "negaduck" McFarland:
https://beta.groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/ReBoot_FicList/conv ersations/messages/109

Her page http://www.c4vct.com/kym/negapage.htm has various MST3K stuff
but not the Ghost Planet MSTings ("Unfortuately, I can't put the skits
I've written on this page. Ask me about 'em." -- so you could try
asking?).

Oh, I hope so. I've been trying to keep something going with at
least one new MiSTing a year, but it's felt like keeping the flame alive
rather than being part of a community.

I'm afraid I don't seem to have any. I did download a couple of
miscellaneous MiSTings when Web Site Number Nine went down for ``the
weekend'' in like 2003, and for my own halfhearted project in making a
successor Web Site Number Nine. But it wasn't comprehensive since I didn't
figure I needed it to be, and I'm afraid what you listed here I don't seem
to have.

Oh, my, yes, I'm sorry for that. The friend hosting my web
site fiddled with something so that all the mySql PHP broke and I never
worked up the energy to fix it. But I *have* got the text file for
Mushroom Kingdom Madness; is the e-mail in your Reply-To addres good?

Delighted to help.

Joseph Nebus: That would be much appreciated if I could get a copy of "Mushroom Kingdom Madness." Thanks so much! My reply to email should be fine.
