Hi!

It's great, they released Habitat: http://neohabitat.org/

The package comes with Vice which seems to have the RS-232 set to an
Internet-Adress.

But I wonder what you'll need to make this work on the real machine.
Is an Ethernet adapter all you need?
Will it need a modem emulation?
Will it work with 1541 Ultimates Ethernet?

Wow, what a coincidence. Somebody from an IRC chat and me were just
playing around with VICE and getting it into a BBS (via telnet access)
using the internet. Got it running for Linux VICE via RS-232. Using
tcpser on the Linux side and a pipe in VICE. If anyone is interested I
can post details.

We also have it running for the MAME emulator being able to emulate any
computer which has a RS-232 interface. He figured it all out but using
Windows, I use Linux.

Thanks a great question. I would too _love_ to run and try out Habitat on my Commodore 128, using proper hardware. Any suggestions are most welcome!

As far as I figured out, the game expects a modem connection, so you have two
options:

1. Get one of these Wifi Modems
https://1200baud.wordpress.com/2017/03/17/strikelink-c64-300 -9600-baud-wifi-modem-on-sale/
http://melbourneconsolerepros.com/product_info.php?products_ id=125
https://www.cbmstuff.com/proddetail.php?prod=WiModemOLED

2. If you have a RS-232 expansion you can connect the C64 to the PC via serial
cable and use your PC as modem: http://orrtech.us/qlink/

and in case you have an Ethernet device, Option 3 would be to patch the game. ;)

I have tried my C64 setup, but I have problems connecting to the Habitat/Club Caribe side. I don't have a problem connecting to the QLink side. That works without a problem. Doesn't seem to like my disk when prompted for it.
