I always have a little trepidation when I approach a sequel to a series that I really liked, but I'm happy to say that “Uchouten Kazoku S2” aka “The Eccentric Family S2” started out with all of the wonderful magic intact and functioning perfectly. This is again a journey into a world of “magic realism” in which tanuki and tengu coexist with and interact with modern human society.
The same enchanting characters are here, along with a few new ones. The backgrounds are spectacular in their detail and ornateness. The dialog is witty and smoothly delivered. This is pure storytelling at its best. I keep on smiling as I reflect upon the first episode and the promise of what will come. My initial rating is A+.
