thanks

Hi John,

the error code you have referenced is telling you that you have a bad RAM chip in bank E0. See here for full details:
https://archive.org/stream/IIgs_2523095_Diagnostics/IIgs_252 3095_Diagnostics_djvu.txt

Unfortunately, IIgs ROM 03 RAM is soldered, so the defective chip(s) will need to be identified, desoldered, and replaced with new chips.

When the IIgs is turned on, do any of the RAM chips feel hot? It is pretty common for failed RAM to short internally and get hot.

Hope this helps,
Mike

None of the chips get hot/or warm! Would this be fast or slow ram?

thanks

Congrats on getting the IIgs up and running again! It's a great feeling bringing old things back to life isn't it? :-)

Cheers,
Mike

Congrats! Now you can share your IIgs serial number please, as well as the IIgs keyboard layout/country of manufacture/ serial number if that is the real IIgs keyboard.

We collect the data to determine the number of IIgs produced.

Thank you,
Antoine
