The comp.dcom.telecom newsgroup reported that the Dallas 911 call
center had severe problems serving calls from T-Mobile subscribers,
as described below:

T-Mobile "ghost calls" clog Dallas 911. Families blame backlog for
deaths.

T-Mobile customers in Dallas have been creating backlogs at the city's 911
call center since October.

The article seems a bit off and details are missing. None the
less, it makes both the city's 911 center and T-Mobile look
totally incompetent.

Would anyone care to comment or offer an explanation? Thanks.

Yes, this was in our St. Louis newspaper about a week ago. Sounds pretty
serious. They apparently selected the 911 system to reject all T-mobile
calls during periods when they were being swamped by calls from that
carrier. Not too clear what is causing these calls.
