The IBM 709/7090/7094 Load Card function read Row binary card decks on
the card reader. These card decks were mostly used to load diagnostics.
The card reader read the cards from the bottom (row 9) to the top (row
12). The card was divided up into 36 column (bits) words. The first word
(row 9 left - cols 1 - 36) had the word count (for this card) and load
address. The second word (row 9 right - cols 37 - 72) had a checksum.
The remainder of the card contained the instructions and data. So, you
did not want to dup them on a key punch.
