Warning: this might contain spoilers about the show Sailor Moon, but I
figure that the statute of limitations on spoilers about a (almost)
30-year old show has ran out.

I have been rewatching the VIZ dub of it, and this show, and am up to
episode 89, which is highest available free dub currently on their website,
I am debating whether to shelve it for the moment until they post more
(I think that up to episode 110 or so has been dubbed) if indeed they do
post more, going to their subbed versions (they have all 200 of those
available), or finding it esewhere

I think this is enough potential spoiler space.

Well, anyway, this show gets my vote for sexiest villians: Queen Beryl,
the Spectre Sisters, at least some of the "monsters of the day", even
Chibi-Usa is temporarily transformed into a sexy villainess.

RWBY also I think gets at least an honorable mention for sexiest
villians as well.

I have also been messing around with the Inkscape drawng program, and
have made some "anime-influenced" pictures, and the address of the album
that I put these pictures in is
https://www.flickr.com/photos/brian0908/albums/7215767818375 1200, and I
believe it is publicly available.

I tried clickng on the link I originally put in the message, and cutting
and pasting it worked just fine, but clicking on it got an error 404
message, so here is a link that I at least hope will work:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/brian0908/albums, and the album is the
latest one posted, "anime pictures."

I've tried using Inkscape to make anime-style artwork too. With mixed results:

Note that you can enlarge the images by clicking on them.

Any suggestions on how I can improve my artwork?

Well, being that your artwork is leagues better than mine (or at least I
think it is), all I can say is to draw the hair so it is not covering
up...uhh...strategic places.

Oh are alcoholic beverages illegal where you live?

You should try to check out the "Overland Vegetable Stagecoach"
comix from the 1970s or the 40 year old Hippie comix. You can see
a depiction of the front cover with the Hippie's famous line
"200 hundred trips and they've all been bummers but I ain't givin'
up" as he tosses down another tab[let].
These will provide you with a better idea of hippie
decay which seldom starts with the nose or waist.
I used to have a full set of these but no idea if they
are still hiding in my closet or not.

No, but booze and drug use aren't mutually exclusive.

That was an attempt at humor, but I still say that since your artwork is
much better than mine in the first place, I suppose I should ask you
what I can do to improve my artwork.

I cannot draw very well at all but the best way to improve your
drawing is to take a class, read a book about drawing and draw, draw,
draw. The best thing for a Japanese artist is to get a series because
then you must draw, draw, draw! If you want to draw comics then you
need to read about the sort of comics you want to draw, some material
is online by the way. Remember "Even a Monkey can draw Manga" and it
is not a cheap book either...

Well, there are plenty of tutorials online, such as:

http://www.howtodrawmanga.com/pages/tutorials

&

http://www.mutoanime.com/Draw/Tutorial.html

But many of these are designed for people who use paper and pen/pencil.

Fortunately, there's a tutorial specifically for Inkscape users at:

http://white-heron.deviantart.com/art/Inkscape-Tutorial-Inde x-57134905

There are also plenty of YouTube video tutorials, as well as some speed-drawing
demonstrations. Here's one where Orihime (Bleach) is drawn using Inkscape:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSFHmA2_Png

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUQK-YWgAC8

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugmAQC4q5YQ

The only problem I have with videos like this is that the art goes whizzing by
so fast that it's hard to discern exactly how it was done. But these videos
still give you an idea of what Inkscape is capable of.

I have briefly glance at the tutorials, and may look more closely at the
ones that are most related to what I like to draw.

Something I have not yet seen is what you actually think of it, as I at
least think you have gone and looked at it, or at least if you have a
computer built in the last 15 years you are capable of looking at them.

Don't be too afraid of saying they are simply terrible if that is what
you think, but at least tell me what specifically is terrible.

For instance, I obviously used a generic template for most of the pictures.

Is it terrible that I used a generic template, and didn't do a different
design for each character, or is perhaps the template I used terrible.

I personally think it has some good points and bad points. I don't know
if you agree with that assessment, but if you do, what are those good
points and bad points.

Well, using the same template (pose) for each character will only take you so
far.

If you're looking for a greater variety of poses, there's a site called
"Posemaniacs" that can help:

http://www.posemaniacs.com/

Or you can just do a websearch for poses:

https://www.google.com/search?q=poses+for+drawing&biw=15 36&bih=701&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa =X&ved=0ahUKEwiz4uz8moLSAhVJs1QKHaFQBT8QsAQIGQ&dpr=1 .25

A websearch can also help you look for ways to draw more "anime-like" faces:

https://www.google.com/search?q=drawing+an+anime+face&bi w=1536&bih=701&noj=1&tbm=isch&tbo=u&sour ce=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiHjaa3nILSAhUqsFQKHUPtD0QQsA QIGw

All of this can be done for free. In this sense, today's artists have it much
easier than their predecessors.

These might make interesting pins.

It is a design and if you look at the books about drawing cartoons and
manga it is clear that you must practice drawing using
manga style characters. People with greater aptitude can do more
interesting art as seen in manga like Jin by Murakami Motoka which
is a speculative fiction in which Jin the titular protagonist ends
up the Edo era as the Bakumatsu is in full swing, he does his best
to bring 20th Century medicine to the 1850s but this is mostly
realistic art but the women in the story are drawn very much the
same due to the mode of makeup and hair styling of the time.
But he makes the acquaintance of many historical figures
saving the life of the man, Saigo Takamori, who will mean a lot
to the revolt of the plutocrats against the Shogunate.

The good point in my eyes is the simplicity of the design
conception. Bad points - too much similarity.

Elsewhere you ask some questions here about the characters
of Sailor Moon, specifically the biographical details of Sailor
Mars? Your answers lie in two places the Canon i.e. reading the manga
and <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sailor_Mars>.

Thanks for asking the question...

In this particular set, my focus was on the costume, but I specifically
made my "body" template so I could put the characters in stuff like
"magical girl poses" or "cool poses in outer space
(http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail57.html), and perhaps I will do
that, put the characrters in various poses, and not have them just
"standing there" in my next set of pictures.

I looked at these, and more "cartoon realistic" faces look like they are
more based on pentagons with a rounded top (where the hair is) and the
point (chin) either being a sharp corner or a rounded corner, and have
some ideas about how to make the faces more "anime-like" than just using
a simple circle like I have been.

I don't think I will be redoing the pictures I currently have on flickr,
but I will be posting new pictures incorporating some of the ideas from
the various places that you cited, hopefully sometime before Hell
freezes over.

Maybe if I can think of any clever jokes, I will post a 4-coma(?) comic
strip.

If you're going for "Strongbad" levels of art quality, then you don't have to
try *that* hard.

:)

If you wanna try making a WebComic, here's something to help you get started:
