Hello All!

It has been some time since I have done ANYTHING on here, namely due to the fact that I have been extremely busy lately trying to get various things up and running.

Anyway,

I am here to pose a question; I am writing a story (I hesitate to call it a book yet, as I am only three chapters in right now), it is set in an alternate timeline in which the vast majority of technology is that if the mid to late 1800's.  However, the present day would be within the past or hear ten or so years.  Tesla, Edison, etc. have all been major figures in the world (though in somewhat different capacities).  WWI and WWII have still happened (I think, though I may change that).  So, would this still qualify as "Steampunk" or would it ultimately fall into one of the various splits, like Dieselpunk?

Am I possibly over thinking this?  Or jumping the gun even working this much out so early?

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Thank you,

Thorn
