Hi all
Powerbook Pismo (400MHz G3, 10.4.11 Tiger, 1GB memory)
I have downloaded lubunto.iso file and am following the instructions
on this site <http://www.ubuntu.com/download/help/create-a-usb-stick-
on-mac-osx> to create a ubuntu flash drive (4GB) but am getting
stopped on the following command -
hdiutil convert -format UDRW -o /Users/ged/InBox/lubuntu-12.04-
desktop-powerpc.img /Users/ged/InBox/lubuntu-12.04-desktop-powerpc.iso
I get the same result if I specify .dmg as the output file.
My problem is that the file exists while hdiutil is working - I can
see it in Finder right above the iso file but it just disappears when
hdiutil ends.
Am I getting something wrong, or is the Pismo too old for version 12,
or what?
TIA

What does Console say when this happens? If hdiutil is throwing an error and giving up, it may be noted there instead of in Terminal. That would account for the files appearing and then disappearing.
Also do 'man hdiutil' in a terminal window and confirm that all the parameters are correct...they look right, but you can't discount subtle changes in commands between OS X versions.
