While these guys have every right to like or dislike whatever they
choose, I think they got it really wrong:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YPG3db9x1Q
Although the main characters, Nadia and Jean are somewhere in their
teens (16-18 suppose) and the little girl is featured in both the
opening and the closing themes, I think it is very clearly not a show
that is intended for kids, and this is very apparant by the 5th episopde
(perhaps even sooner), which is what these reviewers claimed they
watched through.
Also, the 1st episode makes it look like it will be a wacky comedy,
but I think it is pretty clear by the 5th epidode (again, perhaps even
sooner) that it is not that either.

Nadia is uneven. There are several very light interludes between the
serious, even dark ones (even ignoring the infamous
we-have-to-save-money-for-the-end island sequence).

While I agree that the show has its lighter/comic relief moments, I
think it is neither a "kiddie" show or a comedy, is all I am saying.
While I can't read the minds of the original animators, I just don't
think either of those things was the original intent.

It was a general-release anime, yes. So it was no more *specifically*
targeted at children than was, say, Jonny Quest.
