Some of them should be easy for those of you who've paid more attention
than I have over the years.

1. Why did Threepio have a red arm and how did it get replaced for the
final shot?
2. Why did the script make a point of holding back the revelation that
Han and Leia’s son was named “Ben?” All we heard was “our son” every
time the subject came up. Then he was Ben. So?
3. Why did John Boyega affect an American accent? Nicely done, but why?
4. Why not just go on and say that Rey is the daughter Han and Leia
didn’t know they had? (Of course that makes no sense; I’m being silly.
But still.)
5. The movie had the look and feel of Star Wars, but somehow not the
heft. It seemed like Star Wars lite. Most of the required elements
were there and then some, but the required gravitas, the sense of the
magnitude of the situation seemed missing. So is that the movie’s fault
or is it my fault for thinking I’ve seen it all before?
6. Why hire Max Von Sydow if you’re not going to use him?
7. How do you aim that planet-sized flame thrower? If it is built into
an actual planet, does that planet not rotate on an axis? Think about
it: you’d have to check your watch carefully and fire only when the
barrel of the gun swings around to the exact time of day when it’s lined
up with the target, and then the target would have to be located
somewhere on the arc, or I guess the spiral the line of aim is
inscribing in the sky. Seems impractical.
8. Why didn’t I care when Han Solo got lightsabered? This is a serious
question – what was there about this movie that made the death of Han
Solo seem just another plot point with no emotional resonance whatsoever
for me? All I thought when it happened was, “OK, I guess Harrison Ford
finally got what he wanted.”

I would suppose we are expected to buy a comic book to find that out. He did talk about the need to get it replaced during the movie. Didn't 3PO seem a bit...different? A bit too 3POish.

Don't know.

Answered on the Graham Norton Show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBsEuUZcosw

Because she is not. Her parents were a-holes whoever they were.

That's what I said.

Cause he looks good on the cover of a comic book or novel? Was a waste.

Yes, Mr. Neil Degrasse Tyson, you are correct.

Because after finally getting our wish to have the original cast back, we found out they are just way too old to be in these movies. I never really felt much emotion in the movie either. I was entertained, but would have only cared if Rey had died.

Still? You really should get that checked.

I don't think Rey is a Skywalker. Atleast, I hope she isn't.

It felt like ANH in the sense that it was small and compact, retelling the entire first trilogy in a manner. I'm hoping the next two films are broader and more patient in its storyline. If it continues this arc, will Luke lay down his life to help Rey "You can't win, Ren. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine." And will Leia will die in childbirth ;)

What if its in tidal lock?

I like C'Pis response to this. I also felt "Ford got his wish"... but it wasn't the heroic death I hoped he'd get. He got all mushy on us.

See, yet another person who is saying it's just a lazy reboot of the
original movie(s). Pretty much everyone is saying that. :-\
